Best vacuum I’ve ever had!
This is my third shark vacuum. I am impressed by the suction power of this vacuum. However, it is very difficult to push on my longer carpet. I have adjusted the suction power to the lowest setting and still struggle. It also pushes around object that’s aren’t imbedded into the carpet. It won’t pick up cheerios, Barbie shoes, raisins or items of similar size. Because of that I would not recommend it to anyone with children.

HEAVY, difficult to maneuver
This vacuum is heavier than any I have had in the past. It apparently has no adjustment for high or low carpet pile, which makes it EXTREMELY difficult to push and maneuver, even though I have low pile carpet. And the removable canister feature is almost useless, #1 because it is almost as heavy as the whole vacuum and my arm gets worn out quickly from the weight, and #2 the hose is fairly short to begin with, then it constricts when you turn on the suction. The hose will stretch, but unless you are holding the vacuum or the canister the entire time, it will tip over. And last but not least, #3 the suction pipe/attachments are weirdly made. I can’t figure out how to use the detachable handle part for edging without having the entire length of the metal pipe on there. I would want that if I was vacuuming cob webs off of the ceiling, but for normal use its arduous. If I take that pipe off to shorten it, the attachments don’t fit the opening, they just fall off. I wanted a high quality vacuum that would last, so I paid 2-3 times more for this one than what I would normally, and it was not worth it. It’s parked it in the garage as an emergency backup just in case the Bissell that I purchased breaks down at a bad time. I would have returned this vacuum, but I ended up in the hospital and missed the return window unfortunately. I hate to be that person, but I honestly do not recommend this vacuum.

Oh no the great vacuum cleaner but I’ll be there about buying protection replacement plan as that’s where I’m jammed up right now it’s been almost 7 months without a vacuum I don’t know since November anyways hopefully I can get this taken care of cuz everything else is great.

White Professional Shark Model LOST features over earlier models
This review applies specifically to the white professional Shark model. I own a Shark Professional Lift-Away that is approximately 8 years old. I was looking to replace it (we have 3 cats) as it seemed a better investment than replacing seals, rollers, etc. Get a new one, get another 8 years. So I ordered one. NOPE. Somehow, Shark managed to make their successful and badazz ‘Pro Lift Away’ version the worst vacuum in their line up. Let’s start with the term ‘lift-away’. Again, nope. This vacuum DOES NOT LIFT AWAY from the upright so you can extend the brush head under sofas and chairs and tables. It can only ‘lift-away’ if it is DETACHED from the brush head and used with a hand-held non-motorized attachment, none of which are long wands with roller heads that can go under chairs and sofas. This is a SIGNIFICANT DOWNGRADE from the earlier model. The earlier model had a one button ‘lift away’ feature that detaches the canister from the upright wand essentially making it a canister vac with a long powered brush roller head that can reach under king size beds, furniture, and hard to reach places that an upright cannot generally reach. This ‘lift-away’ feature is now entirely GONE with this replacement model Shark Pro. And the lack of a true lift-away isn’t the only problem with this vacuum. In the earlier version there is a slide button at the hand position of the wand that switches from bare floor to brush roller. In the new version, this is part of the power switch (off / bare floor / carpet) and the switch is halfway down the vacuum so you have to stop and bend over to adjust it now instead of just clicking with the thumb on the handle! WHY? WHY INTENTIONALLY MAKE THINGS HARDER? The canister is slightly taller on this new model, but it’s utterly useless because now it has cheap plastic ‘latches’ that mount it to the base. Once again, Shark makes a great vacuum WORSE. The earlier version has a release button at the top of the collection canister that you push and detached to carry the collection bin to the trash to empty. Not any longer. Now you have to bend over almost to the ground to release cheap plastic latches (which will definitely break) in order to remove the canister for emptying. Again, Shark, WHY MAKE IT WORSE? Power. Ugh. One could assume that maybe Shark thought it was going to reduce the features in order to increase power for just carpet/floor vacuuming. Wrong assumption. What really ‘sucks’ is that somehow, with all the redesign and loss of features, Shark has made a vacuum that seriously UNDERPERFORMS their earlier model. Materials. Are you for real, Shark? Everything about this Shark Pro Lift-Away is worse. The plastics and materials are much lighter and more flimsy than earlier models. It is lightweight, but that’s not a good thing here. It’s not substantial. It feels like a Dollar Store vacuum in comparison to the earlier version. One bang into a coffee table and something is going to crack. I only needed 15 minutes out of the box to determine that it needed to go back in the box and be returned. I am super disappointed that Shark has chosen to go the ridiculousness route by dropping great features to what has been—until now—a terrific line-up of lift away vacuum cleaners. Much harder to use, cheaper materials, far less versatility & features (while breaking backs and bank accounts) isn’t the way to go, Shark. When you have something that works well, stick to it. Nobody but your design guy thought removing an important lift-away feature was a good idea. Nobody.

Powerful vacuum!
I was looking for an affordable vacuum to clean my house. Since I have a larger home, in the past I have been frustrated with the cordless vacuum options because the battery dies too quickly for me. I wanted a vacuum with a cord for this reason. I found that after using it the first couple of times, it provides a strong suction to clean the floors for both hardwood and carpets/rugs. Having kids, the dust and dirt is plenty in my home, and I loved how well it cleaned up the mess! I washed the inside canister and filters and they were easy to wash, dry and reassemble to keep the vacuum clean and the suction power strong. It is a great vacuum for the price point. I like that it comes with two additional attachments for smaller spaces and the stairs.

The vacuum is amazing but falls over easily
We got this vacuum less than year and it works amazing. We have four cats but with this vacuum you wouldn’t know that. The only problem is that this vacuum falls over very easily which can lead to damage. Recently our vacuum fell over and the clip that keeps the hose attached to the base of the vacuum broke and so we have to tie the vacuum together for it to work. We have tried looking for a replacement clip but we haven’t been able to find any online. It’s frustrating that we have a great vacuum that we can’t use because of a small broken piece which doesn’t have a replacement part.

I loved my old shark that I have had for over 20 years so when it stopped working I looked for another one. This one has great suction and cleans the floor very well. But the pod when taken off the vacuum bottom is very heavy and cumbersome. Also the attachment doesn’t stay attached. So that part of this vacuum I really don’t like.

I’ve owned a Kirby for over 20 years. It finally died and I wasn’t willing to make that type of expensive investment again. I came across the Shark Navigator and it was everything I needed and more. I like it better than my over priced Kirby. It is light weight, easy to use the attachments for stairs and furniture, easy to get into tight spaces. Best of all, the canister is detachable and can be carried separate from the unit, which makes cleaning stairs so easy and efficient. Great product! I hope it lasts as long as my Kirby.

the electric cord is to short, vacuum area is smaller good for stairs. not living rooms don`t like were the only 1 hand attatachment goes.interfere with my hand when vacuuming knock it off and onto the floor have to place attachment in my pocket.. were this is made they probably don`t have space under their beds or coffee tables or cocktail tables. i think the canister should be mounted a lot higher so it can get under furniture,good suction.

Great suction
The suction is great and the beater brush really cleans my carpet well. It’s easy to empty and I like the removable handle nozzle for getting in tight spots. The downside is that the cord is too short and because it comes out of the bottom, I constantly have to move it out of the way to keep from running over it. I guess I got spoiled by another brand which I’ve had for 35 years, that has a longer cord which comes out of the top of the handle and has the switch on the top of the handles. I’m still trying to decide if I’m going to keep it or not.

Shark needs more QC checks!
I sent this back after none of the parts that are supposed to lock together actually did. Shark is taking shortcuts in manufacturing and quality control, as well as using lower quality materials on high-wear parts, and it shows. Although we have used exclusively Shark vacuum products in the past, we are currently looking at other brands, because we can’t rely on them lately. Shark, are you listening??

Very strong suction and works great. Downside is the cord is very short. Could vacuum my downstairs without unplugging my Dyson. The shark has to be plugged in in every different room. Another issue is the cord is connected to the machine down low which means I am always stepping on it while trying to vacuum at the end of the cord range.

Amazing – Better than Dyson
I had a Dyson Animal but it was heavy and stopped performing as well as I liked. Replaced with this one and LOVE it. Weighs a lot less and has much more suction. Can also easily go back and forth between carpet and hardwood. Highly recommend.

Handle wouldn’t click in
I really wanted to like this vacuum; however I couldn’t get the wand/handle to click into place. Without that, it’s impossible to vacuum as the handle kept coming out. Directions did not indicate that it would be hard or difficult or take extreme strength to make sure that the handle went in, clicked in and stayed in. I returned the product. Not able to rate any features on it since I couldn’t get it to work.

Really wanted this vacuum to work!
I’ve had a Shark vacuum before so I was very disappointed when within a month this vacuum started messing up. It actually worked decent and very well the first week but after that it would clog really bad. We had to take it completely apart to de clog it. And yes-I cleaned this and emptied it as per the directions. For $230 I expected a little better performance. Maybe mine was just a dud, as I have had Shark Vacuums before.

Beyond happy!
I had been trying to use a highly-rated, battery-powered stick vacuum on my carpeting, but I didn’t think it was working well. It was so light, I felt like it was bouncing over the carpeting. I decided to go back to a electric one, and got this one sale here. Besides being a great deal, I nearly died when I saw the the dust it picked up on my carpeting that had just been swept by the other one a couple of days before. I was mortified. I’m also very please with its design and ease of use for emptying the canister.

I am impressed with the suction power of this and ability to clean. Disappointed that it doesnt have 2 rug heights as hard to push on higher piles. Also filters constantly need cleaning or replacing but maybe my wood stove makes a lot of microdust. I didnt need and dont use the detachment feature and the machine is 20 lbs heavier than my other vacuum and that also makes vacuuming harder.

Hands down the worst vacuum I can imagine. It works great but who ever designed it must not of had to use it. Let’s say you want to use the hose. You have to undo all the cord. And now you have to carry/brace the unit in your other hand because the suction collapses the hose and will slam the unit into your ankles. It’s a literal boxing match to use this garbage.

Disappointed in this Shark
I had a Shark prior to this machine. Now I understand why it was on sale! The attachment holders on the wand are a Pain! They get in the way of trying to suck up dust or dog hair in between narrow spaces. The dirt collection is smaller than my other one and harder to get off and on. I have trouble getting this one under furniture as the canister does not lift away. The only plus is the roller bar is truly tangle free of hair. Mine or the dogs. Oh and the electric cord is shorter than my old one so less range. As it is not a true lift away I can not use it on the stairs and have to use the old one for that. Very disappointed in this model for Shark. Handles carpet or hard wood easily though.

I bought this to replace a twelve year old Shark Navigator lift away professional. I was disappointed in the capacity of the dust bin, on the size of the floor brush and in the suction. I doubt this one will survive 12 years!

I tried to use the Lift Away but there is no way to lift it with the attachments that came on my order. I have left it sitting the corner for months because of frustration. I can read simple directions. I could not figure out how to attach accessories to it. What a big waste of money

this is an old school clunky shark
so clunky to move around, I try to vacuum a very low pile carpet and it can’t even move around to pick up debris. Regret this purchase.
