I figured it had a good run but decided to register it with the Shark website to see if there was a part that could extend its life before buying a new one. Turns out – the part that broke after all this time is covered by the 5 year limited warranty, and Shark is sending me a brand new vacuum for free. They are even covering shipping. I’m so happy I don’t have to buy a new one and that Shark stands behind their products!! (The part that broke off was not the roller brush itself, but the piece that secures the roller brush in place, so it was not considered a routine maintenance part.) This vacuum is light, easy to take off any piece and swap attachments. I love that it doesn’t have a typical belt like the old style vacuums had. Only used for a week. Only a 4.5 because the rug in the photo is too long for the rollers in the vacuum base. Other than that, first impression is impressive. Purchased black Friday for discount, but easily worth $150+ with the powerful suction. It separates with plastic latches [I imagine they won’t last years], but easily enough. It may be a little heavy to take on the ladder and do the ceiling corners with the hose for some, but it worked well for me; no more cobwebs at 10′-0″ ceilings!! Worked well on the floor; hose is easy to use in the corner. Recommend for the price and suction. I imagine you get what you pay for, and this is not the vacuum for the rest of your life. I love how lightweight it is and the ease of use. I use a customer’s Dyson when I clean their home but this is lighter and easier to use. If you use it in a dark room it shows so much debris that you can’t see in daylight. It’s unbelievable. Buy it…you won’t regret it! I bought the 3 tear extended warranty so for the price of $150 you can’t go wrong.

I love almost .everything about this vacuum…except the cord. As mentioned in other reviews,the design is terrible. It’s constantly getting run over and I have an old bag vac with this type,of cord and I’ve never had these problems. They really need to re-engineer the cord design. The only other minor thing is, when dumping the dirt out from the canister, you often have to stick something into it to pull out duct ball accumulation as the area around the filter is narrow, so everything doesn’t just “fall out” – – so you get airborne dust and then the sticky or whatever you use is dirty, so I do it in the garage over a large bin. I mean there is no vacuum that doesn’t require emptying and it’s always a messy of a job. Again very minor. The cord tho—- eyeyeyeyye …I had to tie it to the upper handle to sort of solve that issue.

Falls backward at slightest touch
Ridiculously bad engineering! The base is small and the wheels are mounted too far forward. As a result, this top-heavy design easily falls over backward when left sitting on carpet, and it’s only marginally more stable on hard flooring. Didn’t even bother to power it on after assembly — it’s going straight back to Amazon.

Big disappointment
Shark is my favorite brand of vacuum. Been buying Sharks for years. The NV352 Lift Away Navigator was rated highly by NYT Wirecutter so I purchased it a couple of months ago. I needed a new vacuum because my older Shark Navigator’s roller mechanism wouldn’t stop rotating anymore and caused issues on thinner carpet as well as on bamboo flooring. The old vacuum’s perpetually moving roller left scuff marks on the bamboo floors. This Shark vacuum has a brush roller that can be stopped when moving onto thin rugs or hard flooring. However, the suctioning power is way too high (even with the rollers off) for my thin rug so had to buy a smaller stick vacuum for that. The cord of this Navigator is very short. I don’t have a large home but the cord is so short that I’m forced to unplug and replug in the vacuum in the room I’m vacuuming, which I didn’t have to do with my old Shark Navigator. The final disappointment with this vacuum is there is no light to see what you’re vacuuming. I have a dog that sheds a lot and not having a light to show all the fur is unacceptable. So even though this vacuum is just a couple months old, I just bought another Shark vacuum-the Shark Lift Away Rotator. It has a light, it has the lift away and hopefully, it will have a longer cord.

Being a single male, and dog dad you can imagine how I can use all the help cleaning as possible. A friend recommended getting this model. The price was ideal. Easy assembly, too less than 5 minutes. Cleaning. OMG I should have gotten this a year ago. The rugs look almost new now. I’ve never seen so much dirt come up from a rug in my life. Light weight, easy to use on both hard wood floors, and rugs. Super Suction. Easy to dump the hold container. Small footprint. I even used it on the two couch cushions. I’ve been using a Shop vac to clean the wood floors and swiffer wet system. Nice addition to cleaning my home. Great purchase. Highly recommend.

Dust Pan needs redesign
Suction is very good. Adjustment of suction helps on thick carpets. My complaint is about cleaning the dirt collected in dust cup. in my old Shark Navigator (NVL) you just needed to press one button to release dust cup. Here there are 2 straps to be undone before cup can be lifted. The dirt collects in the narrow space between the inside and outside cylinders even before you reach max line and does not come out after the bottom door of dust cup is open. You need tweezers or long stick to scoop out the dirt collected in these narrow spaces getting both hands dirty! Terrible design. I thought when you come up with new model, you keep good stuff and improve on bad. I guess engineers at Shark do not understand it.

We had an Oreck before this. I heard the Shark was good for pet hair and it’s great! It’s got great suction for both carpet and hardwood. The only thing I don’t like about this vacuum is that it doesn’t fit under beds or sofas because it’s got a high front. It’s too bulky to fit under. Other than that, it’s great.

Broke after 3 uses
Vacuum worked really well the first 2 times I used it, but then I heard a pop inside it and then it was very high pitched and didn’t suction like before. Now it won’t even turn on – I tried to contact the store/Amazon and they won’t offer a return. Disappointed. I wouldn’t recommend unless you want to buy a new vacuum right after.

It works really well and is reasonably quiet. It is light and very easy to use. However the dust bin design traps pet hair behind the cyclonic cylinder and means that you’re often going to have to reach in, or use a tool to get everything out. Seems like kind of a bonehead design error that could have been avoided. Dust bin is a little small. Assembly was super simple and requires no tools, so that was nice.

If you like cheaply built, this is for you
The piece that holds the top on the main compartment randomly popped off so now it won’t close and any time I vacuum it sends everything back out into the room. I thought this had good reviews but after my own experience I can say with confidence it’s crap. You’ll also love the short hose for dragging the vacuum around while doing hand held stuff, because it’s like chaining a large appliance that constantly falls over and then dragging it behind you. Lol, what a joke of a design. Hopefully a new generation of designers is on its way to replace the crap the boomers, greatest Gen and others have come up with. They had no clue at all.

This vacuum cleans great, gets dog hair up great but other than that the design sucks. They make emptying the canister a pain. My old Shark was simple and easy, this one requires you to unlock latches and reverse the process to reinstall the canister. Dog hair gets trapped in the canister. Removing the long wand is a total pain,. I suspect who ever designed this thing has never used a vacuum, has little or no experience in design; heck they even shortened the cord, and we all know the cords are never long enough. I DO NOT recommend this product.!

YOU SENT ME A DIRTY MACHINE! VERY DISAPPOINTED.
I have a number of Shark products. When I opened this one I was surprised that the sponge filter was gray instead of white. Okay- things change. I have used it since it arrived; works great, like all Shark products. When I removed the sponge filter as well as the round cloth pad, I ran them under water to clean them as I always do. Guess what? The filter cleaned right up, white as snow. I had been sent a used canister! The clear plastic had been wiped clean but someone left the evidence by not cleaning the sponge filter. I’m not returning it; I’ve used it and we need it, but c’mon Shark, YOU CAN DO BETTER. VERY DISAPPOINTED.
