I read the reviews and decided to still get the product. Just like the other reviews said this product was noisy which i didn’t mind. It also was a problem connecting to the wifi. I called tech support and got it done. But the 1 problem i had that wasn’t expecting was with the charging. I set it to vacuum every other day but it died after 1 hour of cleaning although it was docked for almost 48 hours. I will pay attention to the charging and return it if that happens again.

Miss my old chunky chaotic roomba
Ok I’m probably the odd person out but I miss my old, chaotic, no path Roomba. This Roomba is fine just fine, but it just doesn’t seem to have the same sucking power as my old Roomba. I’ll also say I don’t care about perfect carpet lines or how aesthetically pleasing a carpet looks. I need something that helps with the dog hair kid messes. My old Roomba would fly full bore down my house and pick all that up and it was enough for me. This Roomba does ok with hair but will go right over blanket or new sweatshirt fluffs. Sadly my old Roomba passed away so I’m just here being ok with my ok Roomba.

It’s a decent vacuum, but there are better options
I bought this vacuum a few months ago when it was on sale. It is a decent vacuum for the price, but looking back I should have done more research on the features. This model only has 2 options for cleaning – 15 minute ‘quick clean’, or full house clean. It would be nice to be able to send it to specific rooms or areas instead. It is not the most thorough when it comes to cleaning, especially compared to a normal full size vacuum, but it does a decent job of picking up dust throughout the house so it works okay as a more passive maintenance option. It does tend to get stuck on things like cords or blankets, so be sure to pick up around the house before using.

Will not link to App despite contact with the manufacturer iRobot and despite elevating the issue to the 2nd level. Does not vacuum entire floor and leaves dirt everywhere. Product does not work as advertised. Cannot reach into any size corner. Keeps traveling in one direction and does not vacuum entire floor. Will not drive around furniture and gets stuck under tables. Misses multiple particles. Does not save a single minute of time and requires constant supervision. Stops vacuuming in about 10 minutes and attempts to go home. Having missed dirt along the way.

Not meant for carpet
The Roomba works great for hardwood floors and tile but is not that great for carpets. I changed the settings to increase the suction but it still does not pick much up on the carpets, and you will still need to use a traditional vacuum at least once a week. The Roomba is also not as loud as all the reviews make it sound. I am able to have it on and still hear my TV. you do hear the Roomba BUT it is not quite as bad as I had expected after reading the reviews.

Awful
This thing is awful and wished I never purchased it. I ran this a few times in my house. It constantly got stuck under my recliner, when it went down the hall way it wouldn’t come back, it got all scratched up from getting stuck, and would knock over my dining room table chairs. Sweeping was faster and more efficient than this piece of trash.

Side brush keeps falling off
The side brush kept falling off, and it eventually got lost. Roomba will not replace the brush. Roomba used to have a screw keeping this type of part in place, but this model (Q011) does not. Poor design.

I bought this over a year ago. It is probably the worst purchase I’ve made. I bought is to replace an older Ecovacs that I bought about a decade ago. This roomban nver connects with the wifi and can only be controlled by an app on my phone. It constantly says it’s offline and will randomly stop working or it will do the opposite….when you’re trying to send it home it will randomly just keep rambling along for another half hour until I physically grab it and put it on the charger. When I do go to use it the vacuum the battery is always drained even when it on the charger. My Ecovacs still works and is 10x better than this. I hate this thing. It never charges, it disconnects from the app, it runs into everything and only cleans 1/4 of what my decade old vacuum does. This this is terrible. I should have sent it back…Never buying Roomba again.

Laughably disappointing
I brought this to replace a no-name brand robo vacuum I had for four years that was starting to conk out. This vacuum is HORRIBLE. It does not not map properly and constantly misses huge spots as well as gets stuck all the time. It does not return to dock when it’s suppose to. I have a one bedroom in NYC and the damn vacuum does before it’s done. Keep in mind I’ve had this vacuum for five months with one month of it not being used. I have only used this vacuum like 20-30 times due to how inconsistent it is. I’ve already had to reset it. Similarly the app has ADS FOR NEW VACUUMS!! it’s the craziest thing I saw in my life. It’s like them saying “I know we sold you a crappy vacuum so check out another”. Similarly the app is reading that the brushes will need to be changed soon which is crazy given how little I’ve done with it! Name brand is not always better. Never buying from this brand again.

Excellent on carpet… hardwood floors too
We got this particular vacuum to clean our bedrooms that still have carpet. We knew it wasn’t the latest model and that it didn’t come with the map app. But let me tell you, this vacuum cleans carpet like no other. It is extremely excellent at vacuuming every single hair and dust particle. I just close the door to my bedroom and let it run for about 15 minutes. It does all of the carpet! you’ll be extremely surprised at how well cleans it! You’ll be able to tell the difference afterwards! This vacuum won’t betray you. But if you’re looking for something more fancy with more gadgets, then this is not the one for you. For us, it does an excellent job on carpet! The battery life is also pretty good. I have had no issues with that.

Not as good as the 690 we replaced. This model doesn’t have a barrier block like the 690, so if you don’t want it to go into certain rooms, you have to set up something physical. It also doesn’t have a handle.

This vacuum did as advertised. It is used for intermittent vacuuming so it cuts down on times that the big vacuum has to be used. I love the self emptying feature also.

This roomba will work, but it does it inefficiently. Pros: It sucks. Literally. This Roomba did pick up dust and hair from my pets everywhere it went. Self empties. This is extremely nice so you do not have to do it yourself anytime it runs Noise level. it is surprisingly quiet when it runs Cons: No smart mapping, This Roomba can be quite dumb with how it operates. it will never learn the layout of your house and it will constantly bump into the same things and get stuck. I watched this thing go back and forth between a door and a chair for 30 minutes because it did not know how to navigate around it. It ate wires that were on the floor and pushes anything it can around instead of going around it.

Basisc roomba
I had an iRobot for 5 years and loved it!!! Over time things began to break down so a friend of mine loaned me her Shark robot. I loved it even more because it would map out your house, go to clean… if the bin got full it would go back to the station to empty and then boback to the rout. If the battery got low it would go back to the station…recharge and then continue throughout the ENTIRE house before stopping to dock for the day. This iRobot Essentials does NOE OF THIS! It is the basic bare bottom robot. It goes out to clean, it only goes through about 700 sqft and then dies somewhere in my home. I always have to go find it. It never get the hole house. It never returns to the base station because it runs out of battery life. Once it returns, I HAVE TO PUSH the empty base button. Sooo…. I advise to pay the extra $100 more and get the iRobot that does all these things. It is a waste of time to deal with finding the robot, placing it back on the base station every day….. plus it does not cover my whole house. It mapped out my house one time and that was it. It has never gone through it again . I have worked with 3 different technicians for all my problems. Everyday a new problem acts up with the brand new iRobot. I have only had it 1 week and it has not done one ENTIRE house clean job. This unit is meant for a small 1 bedroom apartment. It gets stuck in corners, under a bed on a frame 18″ off the ground, and will spen forever in a hallway trying to find a door. Not worth your time.

The worst small household appliance I’ve ever bought.
Normally if a product underperforms I return it or if that’s not possible I chalk it up to buyer beware. I waited too long to return. This vacuum is without a doubt the second worst small household appliance I’ve ever purchased. The first being a Shark vacuum I owned 20 years ago. This Roomba never once made it to its home. Got stuck everywhere or simply stopped. I had to move it from room to room as it would vacuum the same areas over and over. Absolutely do not recommend. Total waste of money.

Worthless
It has to be bad for me to leave a negative review, but this product is really really worthless. I even sent their customer service a note in full detail and never heard anything back. I have a 650 square-foot apartment and the battery power doesn’t even last for half of it. It completely skips over sections and then repeats the same spot over and over and over and over. It gets itself, stuck in spots and does not back out. I have picked it up and moved it to a different section of the apartment and within five minutes it’s back to the same spot it got stuck in before. It has literally worn a hole in one small rug and almost a hole in my very expensive large living room rug because it just gets itself stuck in one spot, it literally put itself against one wall and a cabinet and was incapable of just backing up or turning… It just stayed in the same spot and chewed away at the floor underneath it. I have swept the kitchen floor into a pile less than 2 feet away from its base station, and it completely bypasses it. It barely covers maybe half of my apartment but yet the app tells me that it has cleaned over 900 ft.². That’s because it goes over the same spot repeatedly. The vacuum quality is poor and overall use is just horrible. I am disappointed and frustrated.

Really Substandard
This is my 4th robot vacuum and it is the worst. On the plus side, it is very quiet. However, whenever it runs into any obstacle, it stops and requires a human to push the Clean button on the top to resume. At first, I thought it’s brushes were clogged. They were a bit furry – I have a dog. I cleaned them and sent it off. It kept dying under my bed. I thought that it’s battery had an amazingly short life, but after several recharge-and-try-agains, I tried again, blocking off the places to get under my bed. It would get further around the room, but it would still die after a minutes. It would restart after I pushed the button, so the battery was fine. It just kept dying. Tonight, in the time that I have restarted the Roomba at least 7 times, the Shark downstairs has been cruising along without complaint.

Keeps getting stuck
We got this to replace the 692 after the battery terminals burnt out. This one doesn’t pick up as much dirt and constantly gets stuck so we have to “babysit” it to turn it back on constantly, defeating the purpose of an automatic vacuum. The lined movement was supposed to be a perk compared to the random movement of the 692, but it’s not worth it.

I have had this iRobot vacuum since October of 2024. It has performed better than I thought it would! It gets the cat litter that spills from box and cat’s feet, and also does pretty good with dog hair and cat hair. Does it get absolutely everything? No, but it does do well for the cost and size and, it isn’t loud enough to annoy me too. The vacuum is also good at navigating around our home too, but the battery gets down to 30% before it docks itself. So if you have a home larger than 1000 square foot (I do not use it on the second floor of our home) I’m not sure the battery will last that long. Overall, I am very happy with the cost and my purchase!

Not up to par of the original one – super disappointed
I am so frustrated and disappointed in this product. I don’t know if it’s broken or just annoying. It makes kind of these knocking sounds and it gets clogged really easily (with pet hair) and not that easy to manually clean/dump. I had the hardest time getting it to dumb. The area where it cleans on the robot is narrower and smaller than the original one I had. I wish I had read the description notice it needs a stupid bag too. One more thing in this trash/consumer society to buy but I guess I can get reusable. Really wish I had gone with my gut and gotten the Shark. I liked my old Roomba and had it about 4 years until it started making a awful sound. I also thought it was supposed to have mapping capabilities??? But there’s no map on my app.

I expected it to run for 90 minutes but it is about half that.
It does it’s job but I wish the battery lasted longer. It cannot climb onto the carpet. It does not MAP so I can tell it where to go or not go. It gets tangled up in cords and other things.

Game changer
I stinking LOVE this thing! I have been using iroombas for years, and with two shedding dogs I often needed to clean it out three times a week. This thing is hands off, and so strong! It sucks up all the dog hair and consistently finds its base when the battery gets low. So far, I am nothing but please with this product

The item is awful
This is the worst thing I have ever ordered from Amazon. I actually ordered 2. My mother is 90 years old and technically challenged. This thing is a bust. We are sending both back. I’m so tired of ordering things that are a”bait and switch “ .we lried it . It’s a no go item. We are so disappointed. My mom was so excited ! Now we have to seartch for something else to give her. What a shame😢

Not so smart
I had a super smart Roomba for years that stopped sucking up dirt recently so I purchased this one. This one is ok, my complaints are it doesn’t have smart mapping so you can’t map off to have it do specific sections. Also, it doesn’t make it back to the base to charge and dies so I have to carry it to charge.

Pretty bad
Got it a couple of days and had very little to go right. Plugged it in, charged it and started first room and it seemed okay. It went to another room and just started to vacuumung and then it just left. Tried again in and it wouldn’t do anything. It just left again. I reset the map using the 3-button control, but when it started again, it skipped the hallway. Also, in one room, it got hung up so I picked it up and set it back down. But then, instead of continuing vertical tracks, it started going diagonally. Also, check your connection, if you don’t have 2.4 ghz band with this model, you’ll probably not be able to connect to it fully and your phone app won’t be able to control anything except empty bin and start vacuuming.

Absolutely terrible
First- it skips a lot of places. A lot. Then it gets confused an vacuums the same spot over and over. Lastly – this is NOT for rugs or carpet it is absolute rubbish at that. Returning this.

Not Smart
This robot will start out ok, but after a few minutes, it just keeps vacuuming the same strip of floor over and over again. It also has trouble maneuvering around furniture. If it hits an obstacle, it does not go around it, it just vacuums the small area between behind the obstacle over and over, can not find it’s way around it (Chair) It’s so frustrating that I end up pulling out the big vacuum and doing it myself quicker and more efficiently. This is my second Rumba. The first one worked very well

So disappointed in this roomba. I had one that finally gave up and this one doesn’t do anything. It can’t go over scatter rugs, it has no handle like my old one did so you could pick it up and redirect it — if you do point it to where you want it to go, it just turns around the other way…. and I couldn’t even get the app to install all the way through. Getting rid of this one.

WHERE’S THE HANDLE?
This replaced a 7-year-old model 692 which served us well. After reviewing options, the 694 appeared to be the best option based on our needs and price constraints. We were surprised to see it does an even better job on our combo of wood / carpet flooring. This model has been around long enough for the bugs to have been worked out of it and we didn’t need a bunch of mopping, self-emptying, etc options. The only thing we don’t like about the 694 is… Where’s the handle??? The handle on the 692 made it so much easier to move around. Aside from the lack of a handle, the 694 performs beyond expectations and we highly recommend it.
