I read the reviews and decided to still get the product. Just like the other reviews said this product was noisy which i didn’t mind. It also was a problem connecting to the wifi. I called tech support and got it done. But the 1 problem i had that wasn’t expecting was with the charging. I set it to vacuum every other day but it died after 1 hour of cleaning although it was docked for almost 48 hours. I will pay attention to the charging and return it if that happens again.

The vacuum doesn’t pick up very much. When it’s done running, I only have a small handful of debris. My old one I threw out was actually sucking up more than this new one. It’s also very hard to clean unlike my old Roomba. Getting the dog hair off the ends of the roller is almost impossible. On the old one, you could just push it in and the hair pop off.

Worked decent for a bout a month, no mapping capabilities so I had to block off the room I needed it to clean. Constantly gets stuck so no running it over night or when not home. Don’t waste your money! This is the worst roomba we’ve ever had! It’s like it won’t listen to its own sensor. When it runs into something it just keeps pushing but won’t go around the object. The other problem is it just goes back and forth along the same pattern leaving over half the floor untouched. It’s a complete waste.

I wanted to like this product. Mapping my house was useless; it was very incurate. After the 6th time, I moved on. It vaccummed. After month 1 it required assistance daily for the spin brush attachment. After the last time it catapulted the spinning brush attachment by month 2, I never put it back on. Month 2 started the ‘something stuck in brush’ error 2-3x a week. There was never anything there. Month 3 that was daily at least once. Month 4 it’s the same error every 10 minutes. I disassemble the main brush, and reassemble, it works 10 minutes until it gives the error. I’ve replaced the brush (which according to the app was still had 230 something life cycle), the filter, but not the catapulted spin brush. I regret this purchase since I needed something that would not require this amount of interaction for basic functions. I had a Roomba from 2020 that just vacuumed. It was nice but that many years in, the main replacement module parts cost more than a replacement Roomba. I cannot see this one lasting even 6 months. Save your money

Does not map the area so you can’t clean certain rooms on a schedule. I also noticed it does some rooms twice during a cleaning, needs to be recharged and then can’t do all the rooms. I did expect more for $250.

Does a great job vacuuming, but it is like a bull in a china shop doing it. It is very loud while it is cleaning. I have had a few different brands of robot vacuum cleaners and this is by far the loudest. It does not sense objects in its path and literally drags bar stools around the room. It’s very random in it’s cleaning process and often misses entire sections because it does not have mapping functions (which I did not realize when I purchased it and then missed the return date). I would not recommend buying this model at full price and it’s a bit telling why it is seemingly always at a discounted price. There are other “off brands” that have been much better than this – don’t get sucked in by the name recognition (pun intended).

This is the second IRobot that I have owned. I got 3 1/2 years out of my first one. It worked well for me. Yes it would get stuck under things periodically but not often. This one I received January 31, 2025 probably stayed in the box for two days before I got it out and set up. It is very quiet, so that is a plus. This one gets stuck under my couch, both recliners, it will crawl up the pedestal leg of my wooden end table, which is frustrating because I don’t want it scratched up. It has never completed a job without being stuck several times. I can’t always be here to get it unstuck. So very frustrating that it never completes a job.

This is my 4th roomba over 15 years. I generally have had great things to say about roomba. This design is terrible. The spin brush on the bottom just pops off. I shouldn’t have to constantly look for this piece because it randomly comes off when roomba is cleaning. The older versions had this part screwed on. Horrible design because it always gets lost. Not having it renders this machine useless as it doesn’t clean well without it. Can’t just go out and purchase one. Money not well spent.

For $270 with tax, I was expecting a lot more. This was my second robot vacuum and let me just say they’re definitely not all created equal haha. I’ll give it two stars since it does SUCK. It will vacuum, and I liked that all the debris goes into the self contained bag. However, the issue is that this thing is not smart. At all. It has no map. So therefore it claims it will “pick off where it left off” because the battery life is trash but it in no way remembers where it left off! The thing just floats around willy nilly sucking up crap. I have a 1800 normal sized house and it literally never even made it over to my living room. The main room with all the dog fur that I actually NEED vacuumed ! It went back to Amazon two days after trying it. Trust me, spend a little more money and actually get one that maps your house so it has a plan and knows where it’s going and what it’s doing

Doesn’t ever clean the whole house
I tried to like this iRobot but after three months, it has proved to be mostly useless. It will spend two hours (it’s entire battery life) cleaning the same room/area (it spent 40 minutes just banging around in the corner). The battery will be spent and it will go home. Four hours later, it will restart, only to go back to the same area where it had left off and continue to clean that area for another two hours. Battery will be spent, it will go home and then restart four hours later. If I pick it up and put it in a room it had not cleaned, it will cancel the job and go home. The room mapping is useless and the app is useless. I had set favorites only for it to say there is an error. It is a lot quicker for me to take my vacuum and vacuum the whole house myself in 20 min. I wish I could return this iRobot.

This is the 4th iRobot purchased over 10 years. The quality of each unit has been declining. This last unit was defective out of the box as the corner brush did not operate. The unit was returned.

App is very limited and basic. Vacuums great, but we sent it back.
This Roomba is only best if you have an open floor plan with not a lot of furniture. It vacuums and collects debris very nicely, but it does get stuck and bump into things it can’t recognize or figure out how to go around. It will grab electrical cords and possibly get stuck on certain types of room transitions. We have carpet and I guess depending on what you have the brush can fall off numerous times so I would say it’s something you have to keep an eye on if you have pets, my cats love to play with it. There were a few times we had to fix it because it got stuck. Overall I purchased it with the intention of being able to control the smart mapping, but the web description was inaccurate and does not tell you that it does not come with the advanced smart mapping, just the basic mapping, which shows you what areas it cleaned. Not quite sure if it saves the map and knows your house layout or not as the functionality of the app is super basic. I did more research and found out that you have to pay to play basically and purchase a higher and more expensive model for simple features on the app and I believe that is what kills this robot vacuum which had potential. I ended up returning it because I had the intention of using smart maps and this model you cannot. I’ll just take the extra couple minutes. It takes to vacuum the living room. Hopefully this review is honest and transparent enough and helps somebody make a decision or not whether you wanna buy this vacuum.

A WASTE – I would be disappointed even if I had bought this at half the price.
I can’t believe how much money I spent on this POS. Never once has it thoroughly cleaned any part of my apartment – I’ve watched it go over the same dust/debris multiple times without picking it up, it misses entire sections of rooms (even if I run block in in to the area), and then it leaves MOUNDS of dog hair all along the edges of my carpets. And THEN, when I’m finally at my breaking point, it can’t find its way back to its base. The base is in an accessible space in the middle room of my small NYC apartment, and this dummy will be searching for 20 minutes before I finally just put it back myself. I had a Eufy(sp?) one in my last apartment that was half the cost, never missed a spot or left behind a trail of debris, AND had a remote so you could direct it if needed. Save yourself!!!

I purchased this to replace my broken i3, but I’m extremely disappointed. I’ve had three test runs, and here’s how it went: First test: It ran for a total of 12 hours before “finishing” the job (usually ~3 hours with my original i3). The map it created was a complete mess—I couldn’t figure out where it had cleaned. I called iRobot customer service, and they told me there’s no mapping function for this model, which was frustrating because the website clearly said there was! Second test: Following customer service’s instructions, I reset the unit. This time it took just 2 hours to “complete” the job. The “map” was slightly better, but still a mess and full of empty spaces. The history reported two different square-footage for the area cleaned by the same job, and neither was correct. Third test: I decided to try it without a full charge. It ended up stuck in the middle of the room with a dead battery. It was supposed to return to the charger and then pick up where it left off once charged, but that didn’t happen. At this point, I’d had enough and returned it.

Unit worked when delivered, in a month stopped, contacted mfr, tried multiple fixes, returned the unit for a new one. Same scenario. Now, the return date has passed, but notified Amazon. They accept the return with a $35 penalty. Shipped unit to Amazon via UPS, received refund credit. Two weeks later Amazon wants to bill me the full price, as they did not receive it? Called and they stated processing error occurred, not an issue. Today, email from amazon, billed my credit for unit as it was returned. Called and they stated no issue and will credit my card within 5 to 7 days. Stay tuned!

The first 2 cleanings were great. However I noticed every time subsequently it cleaned less and less due to battery depletion. Great cleaning- good price
We had a Roomba that worked very well for over six years, and when it was finally time to replace it, we bought this one. This unit actually cost about half of what we paid for the last one six years ago. It works fantastic, even better than the one we had before which we really really enjoyed having. I read the reviews very carefully, and there were a few that said it was noisy, but we do not find that to be the case. Sure if you listen, you will hear it, but it does great cleaning work on our most hardwood and area rug flooring.

Don’t waste your money
This hops a lot. It doesn’t roll around flat. I can’t tell what’s wrong with it. Sometimes it’s fine and sometimes it isn’t. That aside, it doesn’t do a great job of picking up cat litter on the floor. Cat litter is light so you’d think it would be easy to pick up. It also like to force itself to climb things it shouldn’t like the cat scratch post base. It has gotten stuck there and hasn’t returned to the base once. I also found it stuck on some wires once. Overall, this has been a complete disappointment and waste of money. If you want a reliable vacuum, don’t waste your money on this. It takes more time to monitor and manage it and its performance and reliability is a huge disappointment. I wish I listened to the few reviews that warned against buying this. Please don’t make the same mistake I did.

Started internal grinding noise on the 2nd use.
The media could not be loaded. Item was apparently used prior to my receiving it. Cord was unwrapped, filter bag already inserted in unit. I used it once with no issue. On the 2nd try a loud internal grinding noise started immediately. (See video.) I reported the issue on my return comment.

Watching this thing is painful
So, it works. It runs every other day and the house looks pretty clean all the time, except for one area rug that clings to dog fur like iron filings to an electromagnetic crane—even our Dyson can never get that thing pristine. But, holy _crap_ is it painful to watch. This thing manages to trap itself in open areas constantly, where it’ll bump into an obstacle, back up, turn around and go back a foot or two, turn back around, and run into the same spot on the same obstacle. It’s even worse if there are two obstacles near each other. I would almost think that its map is strongly indicating there is supposed to be reachable area just around that obstacle, but the obstacle isn’t on the map (a moved dog bed, a chair slightly out of place). Except, the maps it generates are incomprehensible. It doesn’t even show its home on the maps, and the fact it frequently takes 30 minutes to find its home confirms it has no idea where it is or what the house looks like. It’s painful to watch in the same way that it’s painful to watch someone hunt-and-peck at 2 words per minute and repeatedly make typos. What’s genuinely irritating, though, is knowing that this thing is wasting time and battery going over areas it’s already visited, trapping itself in corners, and convincing itself that it’s trapped in an imaginary corner. Oh, and that it’ll report it cleaned 600sqft when I know for a fact that it got stuck in a closet for 45 minutes.

Will not return to charging station when the battery gets low.
Unlike our previous Roomba this one runs until its battery gets low, makes a noise and unless you pick it up and set it on the charging station it just dies. The one we had before this ALWAYS went to the charging station when the battery was getting low or, if we wanted to end the cycle there was an option to send it home from the application on my iPhone. That option does not exist with this version. Would not recommend.
