The stars speak of…
Opinions about this product were divided in such a proportion among the buyers.
I’ve had this inverter for over 18 months now. No issues. It runs everything. I have four outlets wired to it in my tiny home and a 2500 w water heater. It easily runs chargers, coffee machine, water heater, 3.1cf refrigerator, 40″ Tv, and a blender all at the same time.
Inverter has M8 terminals coming out the back. The cables supplied have M10 or 3/8″ lugs. So, budget for properly sized cable lugs, or new cables with proper sized lugs. Or cut the M10s off and crimp on properly sized M8 or 5/16″ lugs. With the level of max current that can flow into these things, a proper connection is paramount for safe and efficient connections. Personally, as a retired Electrical Engineer I”m not comfortable with using oversized lugs on smaller terminals.

Is this inverter easy to install?Renogy designs its products with the DIY user in mind, and this inverter is no exception. It comes with a detailed instruction manual and is meant to be user-friendly. However, if you are not familiar with electrical systems, it is recommended to consult or hire a professional to ensure safe and proper installation.
What kind of battery bank do I need to use with this inverter? This inverter requires a 12V DC battery bank to function. The capacity and number of batteries you’ll need depend on the energy consumption of the devices you wish to power and for how long. It is essential to ensure that the battery bank you use is capable of handling the power demands of your intended load.
Can this inverter be used for off-grid solar power systems?Absolutely, this inverter is ideal for off-grid solar power systems. It allows you to convert the DC power stored in your batteries (from solar panels) into AC power that can be used by household appliances and electronics. It’s a crucial component for anyone looking to achieve energy independence with renewable energy sources.
Does this inverter come with a warranty?Yes, Renogy typically offers a warranty on their products, although the length and terms of the warranty can vary. Please check the manufacturer’s documentation or contact Renogy’s customer service for the specific warranty information for this inverter.
How do I know if the 3000W capacity is enough for my needs? To determine if the 3000W capacity is sufficient, you’ll need to calculate the total wattage of the devices you plan to power simultaneously. Ensure that the combined wattage does not exceed the inverter’s continuous power rating. For devices with high starting power requirements, like refrigerators or pumps, take into account their surge power, which this inverter should also be able to handle for short periods.

Works like a charm!
Update: I originally left a 1 star, not for the device, but more for the resale, I thought this second one was faulty, turns out one of my bus bars was faulty, this was TOTALLY MY FAULT (maybe the bus bar as well). Renogy got back with me even though this was a resale and informed me it’s not under warranty but still offered tips on what to do. I’m happy that this worked out because I really like this Renogy company and eco system. Looking forward to upgrades, future builds and all. I left the original review for context below I would say this is more of an Amazon resale review as this is the second unit I bought from resale that is DOA. This first one never worked, figured was just a bad unit, 2nd one sparked so hard it left a groove in my bat terminal and now won’t accept a charge from my charge controller. I don’t know what the process is on testing these with Amazon resale but they definitely were bad. I don’t know how Renogy would let you all re-sell bad units, looks bad on them

works great
The media could not be loaded. Works great and can be used in a portable or permanent mounting. Pictures show how I made a Frankenstein mobile power wagon with this inverter and some lithium iron batteries inside the plastic tote. The inverter also powers a 5000 BTU window air conditioner and hot plate.
Jack B. –
Efficient
I have the 3000W Renogy inverter drawing from a 19kWh LiFePo4 battery bank, powering various home equipment including: network, NAS, file server, stereo, TVs, workstations. I have a shunt between the battery bank and the Renogy, and another meter measuring the AC output. With a 250W load, the Renogy had 93% efficiency. Between 400W and 1000W, it had 96% efficiency. This is significantly higher efficiency than they specify, reducing the required battery capacity as well as the solar panels. I have one issue with this inverter, which is the GFCI. When I try to power any preexisting home circuit, the Renogy complains of a ground fault. Connecting a true ground to the Renogy only makes it worse. This may be a problem with the home circuits, but an older Aims Power invert/charger does power those circuits as long as it is not grounded. This may not affect anyone else, so I gave the inverter 5 stars.

Unreliable Inverter Performance
It frequently shuts down under load and doesn’t provide consistent power for my appliances. The remote controller is also unreliable.

Failed at 1800W 30 Min Discharge
Failed charging after about 30 min at 1800W. This was the first time I had taken it to its advertised power output after six months of normal operation close to 65W. Amazon customer service would not help with a return or replacement. Stay away from this item.

Torn to give it 3 star or 5 star…
I feel like this is intended for Lighter RV use but that I knew. I got 2000W version, probably a bit small for for most RV users but really only running Starlink Internet and a few extras here or there but pretty much 24/7 StarLink and why I wanted it to have the ATS for grid power. My LifePo4 12.8V Battery runs this great for my needs. Now I can add Solar when I get to it and the second battery as my single 100ah battery would limit it to 1200W. Always good to have the ability to add more. I had trouble getting a braided/stranded wire inserted into the ATS and had to use a Ferule since this ATS only has spring pressure connector points you have to force the wire into. And No release it seemed if i need to change the cables later? I called support having trouble inserting the wires but they confirmed it should just press in, no release of pressure, and they just recommended I return to Amazon. Not much assistance. I did not, as I just used a Ferule to stiffen wire since my wiring was not solid home wire. But back to this ATS… Even with it connected to grid power it draws about 2 percent per day running the fans here and there from the battery. All this still 5 star But the ATS has no included cord. So I cut the cord from my old 1500VA UPS that had failed. This is why I had a stranded cord but assume one should use stranded in an RV anyways. Just glad to have the AC plug there. Too bad one is not included that can go there, as mine if pulled hard enough can come out. I used the cord holder to make sure this does not happen but I am not a fan of the connections for the ATS. It would be nice to have it either way, one might not have the outlet already there like i do to plug into and be connecting to fuse or breaker to connect to and this seems more like what the expect. between the Ferule and issue connecting it to grid power in my application I was going to rate it a 3 star. It could be better if it just had better ATS connectors. These connectors are the same if you run line out rather than use the 2 outlets on the unit. Hence I am using the outlets.

Failed prematurely, poor design
Not very happy with my experience. Granted, my unit is about 4 and a half years old before completely failing but it had very little use. I mainly used it to power an 80W fridge for a few days at a time, a couple times a year. About a year ago (unit being about 3 years old then), the inverter would start faulting while running the fridge after a few days, even with enough battery storage and 400W of solar. Looking back, I think the inverter was faulty from the beginning. First, I’ve never heard the cooling fans kick on, ever. Secondly, the couple of times I attempted to use my induction cooktop using ~900W max, it would always fault as if it was too much consumption but it wasn’t even pulling half of the continuous wattage rating of the inverter. Renogy technical assistance/after sales support was completely useless. After providing them with information for four months by their requests, their response was “it’s no longer covered under warranty”. I wasn’t asking for a replacement, I was trying to hopefully fix the unit with a replaceable part. They couldn’t help with that, apparently. Also, the hard wire AC terminal posts are complete trash. The screws for the terminal cover also mount the terminal to the unit. So, when you remove the cover, the terminal is no longer attached to the unit and is free swinging and the screws are so tiny, and the cover can’t be placed back on once standard 12AWG wires are installed, that you have wires and exposed terminal posts just hanging loosely next to the inverter. The worst part? I don’t know of any other inverter brands that are reputable for the same price point. So I may be rolling the dice again with the same unit :/ For what it’s worth, I’m an engineer and professional tradesman so I always follow manuals to specs and I have decades of workmanship experience. So I can say for certain that the issues were not operator error.

Good prouduct
Works good I would not recommend it for house install. But works great for RV or garage.
Steve Nunn –
Very quiet and efficient
Replaced another brand with same ratings. The Renogy is whisper quiet a significantly more efficient. We get more out ofour batteries. It is a more expensive inverter, but the quality and performance is worth it.

Excellent product
I installed this in my truck to power a Starlink and a laptop computer. It works great and is an excellent product. Might cost a little more, but it is the standard. It don’t buy cheap products any more. Get one that works and keeps going strong; buy once. Easily handles 1000 watt loads.

RVers BEWARE!
Research this inverter in other places, not just Amazon amd read CAREFULLY! 1)Bought this so we could use our microwave on the road when there was no electric, it won’t even handle that all by itself. Hit start and the inverter goes into overload immediately. 2)The direct wire terminals are too small for even decent multistrand 8 guage wire. 3)This unit is not desirable for long term RV use or for dual leg power needs. 4)We have now waited over 3 weeks for the refund (after they recieved the unit) and they keep pushing the date forward… poor product for RV use and even worse product representation.

Inverter works good
I purchased a 1000 watt Renogy inverter and it works good and have had no issues. I am using it from a 12 volt lead acid deep cycle battery. I have only connected low wattage items roughly 100 watts. The cooling fan does not run at low wattage which is great no noise. According to instructions you need to in stall a 150 amp fuse on the positive side between battery and inverter. (You need another set of cables). The fuse can be obtained at Amazon or local auto parts store. I also installed a 250 amp on/off (RV battery switch-Amazon item) on the negative side between battery and inverter. This is a good idea since the inverter draws a small amount of current even when in the off position. When not using inverter turn off switch.

Bought a 2000w unit about 2 hrs ago ,lately it will only power small stuff, chargers, small heat gun. When it hits about 750w output it resets itself turning off everything in my camper van. Another great produ t from renogy, everything I’ve bought Ren has either broken within 2 years or didn’t work to begin with , I’ve returned several of their products.

Never heard of this brand before.
And I am blown away at the quality. From the components to the packaging. Fantastic work. Will be using this brand in the future for sure.

purchased two one never worked the second failed after 1 week
this whole experience and $ invested into the solar the wires the batteries and the power station renogy was alot of effort it worked then failed twice and it was the 1000w renogy station…..i was in the house wired to solar outside and it would work fine and then it would then after a couple days smell funny and stop working….twice….im unable to dismantle it due to liability but im sure its fixable i believe i truly recieved two bunk power stations…… i would like this fixed but since i took so long to relay this intel im sorry but 1 star is for legit reason you gave me two already bunk 100w devices and its likely your staff putting them together causing this your a goood company and this was not what anyone shoul expect…andway now i have power stations without the power converters i cANNOT power anything and been without emergency backup electricity for months nearly a year

Only worked 20 days
Inverter only worked for 20 days before outlets stopped working. Only the usb port works at this point. Unfortunately I waited a couple months before hooking up so no refund available. So after 20 days I have a 170$ brick.

Can not replace fuse
Works great , low fan noise. If you blow a fuse the unit is done for. You can not replace the fuses because they are soldered in the mother board. You wasted a lot of money. I would not buy another one !

older model
really disappointed. I finally got around to unboxing this and setting it up and it is the OLDER model without the eco mode. the new model has been out forever so I JUST ASSUMED. Too late to return it so I am stuck with it. I am one day past 30 days.

Won’t run my 1100 Watt microwave. 3000 watt version.
Does well with multiple loads and my MR Coffee coffee pot when I tried my 1100 watt microwave oven it beeped within 1 minute and kicked out. Otherwise it runs nicely

mostly OK inverter – HUGE – Missing features
I’ve had a few OK Renogy products and a few duds. This product is in between. This inverter is about 1.5 times larger than other 2000 watt pure sine wave inverters. This unit produces voltage closer to 110 volts. Other pure sine wave inverters produce voltage closer to 120 volts. The remote port only supports the on/off remote. This unit will not display the wattage over the remote or on the device. Even if you buy Renogy’s remote that show watts used, it is not compatible with this unit. The only way to monitor usage is to plug into a Kill-A-Watt or similar device. On a 2000watt device, you need to see the usage so you don’t overload it. Comes with 1/O cables which are a little small but not dangerous small. However, the ring terminals on the cables are a couple sizes too large for the terminals on the unit. I returned this and got the OLTEANP (not perfect either) which is smaller, shows usage on remote, and produces 118-120 volts.

Greay 700 Watt Unit
This is the 2nd inverter I have purchased. Previous one is still going strong 3 years in. Highly recommend.
