The stars speak of…
Opinions about this product were divided in such a proportion among the buyers.
I’ve had this inverter for over 18 months now. No issues. It runs everything. I have four outlets wired to it in my tiny home and a 2500 w water heater. It easily runs chargers, coffee machine, water heater, 3.1cf refrigerator, 40″ Tv, and a blender all at the same time.
Inverter has M8 terminals coming out the back. The cables supplied have M10 or 3/8″ lugs. So, budget for properly sized cable lugs, or new cables with proper sized lugs. Or cut the M10s off and crimp on properly sized M8 or 5/16″ lugs. With the level of max current that can flow into these things, a proper connection is paramount for safe and efficient connections. Personally, as a retired Electrical Engineer I”m not comfortable with using oversized lugs on smaller terminals.

Is this inverter easy to install?Renogy designs its products with the DIY user in mind, and this inverter is no exception. It comes with a detailed instruction manual and is meant to be user-friendly. However, if you are not familiar with electrical systems, it is recommended to consult or hire a professional to ensure safe and proper installation.
What kind of battery bank do I need to use with this inverter? This inverter requires a 12V DC battery bank to function. The capacity and number of batteries you’ll need depend on the energy consumption of the devices you wish to power and for how long. It is essential to ensure that the battery bank you use is capable of handling the power demands of your intended load.
Can this inverter be used for off-grid solar power systems?Absolutely, this inverter is ideal for off-grid solar power systems. It allows you to convert the DC power stored in your batteries (from solar panels) into AC power that can be used by household appliances and electronics. It’s a crucial component for anyone looking to achieve energy independence with renewable energy sources.
Does this inverter come with a warranty?Yes, Renogy typically offers a warranty on their products, although the length and terms of the warranty can vary. Please check the manufacturer’s documentation or contact Renogy’s customer service for the specific warranty information for this inverter.
How do I know if the 3000W capacity is enough for my needs? To determine if the 3000W capacity is sufficient, you’ll need to calculate the total wattage of the devices you plan to power simultaneously. Ensure that the combined wattage does not exceed the inverter’s continuous power rating. For devices with high starting power requirements, like refrigerators or pumps, take into account their surge power, which this inverter should also be able to handle for short periods.

Unit died in one year
everything was good and then the fault light and siren went off even with nothing plugged in and voltage was good … tested on another battery system and same problem…. you used to have to damage it some way before it craps out ..!!!!
Thomas Krapp –
Did not last
After 2 months it quite working. I could not run even 1000 watts through this thing and now it does not work at all.
Amazon Customer –
Nice Inverter
Works for the use I wanted it to do. Nice quality, and very easy to setup. The price was right, and was delivered within a day. Amazing…Would recommend.
Daniel G. –
Works great!
Haven’t had any issues, except one time it quit working when my battery were at 50%. Lifepo4 batteries, only a year old. Don’t know if it’s a batt problem, or what, but as soon as I charged them up it worked again no problem. Nice and quiet, and for a 3000w PURE sine wave, I think it’s a good value for the money. I recommend a cut off in line from batt to inverter on positive line, with a method of precharging the capacitor or whatever that is.. watched a video and followed the video.. not sure what exactly I was doing, but this thing pulls a lot of power as soon as it is hooked to the battery, so it really should have a method of gently increasing power to the capacitor instead of dumping it all at once.
WrethaOffGrid✨🌟⭐😎 –
Works for our off grid system
I bought this “used – good”, the price couldn’t be beat. I was really planning on buying the 2000 watt version but once I saw this deal, I had to get it. I hooked it up immediately and it worked great, still serving us well. It’s hooked up to a couple of 12V 100AH LiFePo4 batteries (we will be doubling that soon), this runs my refrigerator, microwave and a few lights, being 3000 watts, we have lots of room to grow with this system. I like Renogy products, this doesn’t disappoint.

Lasted just over the warranty period.
This thing is dead after 12 months. Maby used it 40 times for an evening. All was built super well – but the weak link is the Renogy 2000w inverter. This thing fully died after only 14 months (2 months too late ). Crappy warranty.
Amazon Customer –
It’s great for a vehicle with a 12v system.
I actually got this for a small off grid solar system and now I know this is better for trips and connected to a car or truck battery. For an off grid system go with a 24v/48v inverter. I am keeping this inverter because it is still very high quality and still works for me. Running 600wh ac window unit and I don’t even think the inverter heats up. Or are my fans broken lol It came with pair of 1awg battery cables.
Maxlee –
Nice looking unit
I have successfully installed the Inverter and it works well. The instructions are terrible. No we’re can you find the proper recommended 1/0 power cable to use for installation. Conflicting instructions as to were and how to place the unit. Look on Renogy site and others.

The two Renogy 2000W Pure Sine Wave Inverter 12V DC to 120V AC Converter for Home, RV, Truck, products are perfect for my project.
Tatouacvdombk –
Still working good
I use it with two panel and 4 battery and do the work, I leave in a place where we have a lot of power cut so I use it every time we have power cut
Erik G Rasmussen –
Inverter blown
Inverter blew up, after 5 months of very light use. Customer service is non existent. I do not recommend this product.
Amazon Customer –
Good product, nightmare service.
Product is pretty decent quality, so far. Been trying to get a replacement for the remote that comes with it. It’s like trying to pull teeth from a tiger on uppers. Can’t just order it. Can’t get through their useless AI “customer support”. Real people never answer on any of their channels. So I guess, buy it if you’re okay with absolutely no support of any kind for anything that goes wrong.
TMS –
Works but a little cheap
Has no problem delivering it’s its rated 2000w output with a 12v 100Ah LiFePo, but from the outside, quality is a bit low for the price. The DC lugs are quite thin and flexable and I worry about their longevity. Very quiet. Practicality silent.
Jefro Bodark –
Good not great
I haven’t been able to get rated power out. Thought it was batteries but after buying huge pack, still can’t power big loads.
Mark A Rutter –
Room for improvement
I purchased the 3000 watt inverter without the charger. The cable for the remote was about 5 feet too short for my application. The user manual says the remote cable is an RJ-11. So I ordered a 25-foot RJ-11 cable. When it arrived, I discovered it only had 4 wires and contacts. The one I needed had 6 wires. The lights on the remote wouldn’t work with the 4 wire RJ-11. What I needed was an RJ-12. Now I know the difference, but the manual says RJ-11. Also, the AC terminals on the inverter are very small. I wanted use 8-ga. wire but ended up with 10-ga. The inverter seems to be working fine. I will be going on a 5-day boondock this week.
Wayne B. –
Bigger than I anticipated
Because it was bigger than expected It has much more potential places That I can use it
Ghetty.g –
Over heats
The media could not be loaded. The fans don’t turn on, and it over heats.
Davis Parker –
Runs 14k BTU air conditioner
I got this because my “nice” inverter blew up when I tried to run a 14k BTU air conditioner on it. The Renogy unit handles it no problem.
David Graham –
Customer Service was/is very poor…
Overall I’ve been a fan of Renogy products and have been willing to pay the extra cost for them. However, this particular inverter failed and I had to work with customer service to try and resolve the issue. This was June 13th. They gave me a set of instructions to see if I could be reset the inverter. Those processes all failed. I did inform them that this inverter is critical to my off grid home. They then said it needed to be sent back to the company and their techs needed to verify what we’d just done. Rather than simply say, (“We see that tests we had you preform, to reset it failed. Yes, the unit is bad. We will get another inverter to you A.S.A.P.”) July 11th they finally sent a message that, YES the unit is faulty! Almost a month after we began this process. In that msg they said we’ll be sending you a new inverter and we’ll send you a tracking number with 24-48 hours. 13 days later I messaged them, I told them I’d not received a tracking number and nothing has been delivered. I also had been forced to purchase another inverter to get my system back up and running. I waited 24 hours after sending the inquiry, with no reply form them. At that time I figure it was time for a phone call. Bottom line, once I actually got to talk to someone, their supervisor, I finally got a tracking number and an ear full of I’m so sorry. However, Sorry doesn’t resolve all the time my system was down and being ghosted. Sorry doesn’t reimburse my cost of having to buy another unit. I now also have an extra inverter that they will not take back and or can’t reimburse me the money. To time much time was spent on a product that’s under $200. The simplest and most cost effective solution is what I said initially, after I preformed all their tests. (“We see that tests we had you preform failed. Yes, the unit is bad. We will get another inverter to you A.S.A.P”) So if you get a product from Renogy, hopefully it will work as it should, for along time. Because if you have to deal with their customer service department, just know, they are not very good at timeliness or follow up. But they are SORRY! I did get a lot of them from everyone.
JaviviSer –
This product does not deliver specs.
This product does not deliver the specifications, I been trying to use with different devices and do not support it, starts beeping. I tried to use with Ecoflow Wave 2 and after a minute beeps….same thing with induction electric cook, requierments are meet but delivery is not.
Dee –
easy to install but not quite the power it displays
I bought this for my rv because we wanted to make coffee without running the generator in early mornings. It’s supposed to be 2000w and my coffee pot was using no more than 1500 and trips the internal breaker every time. Too much of a hassle to buy a bigger one and rewire the whole thing so I bought a cheaper coffee maker and now have to wait longer

Customer service seems non existent
Customer service seems non existent. Tried to register warranty online but their system said our product didn’t exist. Tried to call and talk but never received a person. System recording said “1st person in line” for 40 minutes each time. Left 3 voicemails. Has been 2 weeks and still havent heard back from them. Can’t register warranty, can’t talk to customer service, and the product has some defect that we can’t address because of all this. Love this brand but we’ve never tried to contact CS before and it’s very disappointing.

Inverter defective. Would there be a way to possibly trade it for a new one thatworks??
This inverter would keep tripping out anytime I plugged the load into it, I’ve had it for about a year and just now took it out of the box for the first time to use it on a set of batteries and it will not stay on, runs for about 5 or 10 minutes and then trips out. The fans don’t kick on, maybe that’s why it trips? Could you please exchange this fone that works?

Poor performance on Renogy warranty
Purchased June 2023. Product fails October 2023. Renogy issues return merchandise authorization December 2023. Renogy refunds customer full price July 2024. Had to file complaint with Better Business Bureau to compel Renogy to make good on warranty of their product. Very frustrating experience overall. Good luck with your Renogy purchase, Your mileage may vary on device performance and reliability , as I found my product to be an inverter manufactured by Intertek in Shanghai, branded with Renogy graphics and backed by Renogy’s 12 month return/repair/refund warranty. Should you be in need of Renogy support to repair a failed device, I would submit they are unable to do so based on my experience.

No customer service
Be aware when you buy from Renogy that it is virtually impossible to talk to anyone at this company for help or troubleshooting. They don’t return mail. It could be hours before they pick up in the customer help cue, and their chat replys can take days.

This product didn’t work
I did hours of research of inverters and these was what I discovered to be the most ideal inverter. Received the product and had to buy housings for a power source (which was known to power my 2013 Subaru Impreza) the damn inverter was connected properly, showed signs of power and the light was on etc. but couldn’t charge a damn phone let alone its intended use for a far!

Takes a licking, keeps on ticking and cost a helluva lot less…
…than my previous Make/Model, which failed after 10 years! It just sits there and clicks on when we need it, clean, quiet, A/C power!

Failure item
The media could not be loaded. I use this item for my semi truck to power up my television, mini fridge and microwave when needed. At first use, I noticed the fans did not turn on to cool item. One week later, the item shut down and made a continuous beeping sound during the night, lost power to my refrigerator small TV and microwave.

Powerful Inverter but……
PROS: Very good exterior materials, thick gauged aluminum case, and paintwork. Inverted a surge of approximately 1700 watts for a marine air conditioning unit(9k BTU) almost 14 amps at 115v AC without drama, no hum, no buzzing and it did not pop a fuse, etc. CONS: The terminal ends I made for the AC line are for a 12-awg wire. Well they do not fit into the terminal block and so I had to downsize them for a 14-awg which concerned me because I didn’t want a lot of current to flow through smaller wires. The mounting flange for the inverter has holes for the screws/fasteners too close to the chassis for a screwdriver to fit securely. Called customer support about some questions I had about the inverter’s capabilities I was on a long-distance call with the Pacific Rim and the connection was untolerable.

Good inverter, major safety issue with terminal covers and large wire
I like it, but the plastic covers over the terminals in no way, shape or form will work with large wire. In my case, I have to use 4/0 wire and the terminals are very much exposed because the plastic covers had to be removed due to the fact that they will not allow 4/0 (or any other wire past perhaps 0 AWG) to pass though them. This is a 3000w inverter and most of the time requires VERY large wire to supply the 250 amps needed on the 12v side to power this inverter. It looks like the engineers would understand the fact that we are NOT using 8 AWG wire to hook these things up! I’ll come up with something on my own, but for an inverter of this size, large wire accommodation should be standard issue.

Exceeds Expectation
After installing 900ah of Lifepo4 batteries, I decided to try running the roof top 15k BTU AC in my motorhome with my old 3000W PSW inverter. The AC failed to start 2 out of 3 tries. When it did start the AC, it ran for less than 2 hours before it blew 2 of the MOSFET’s. I replaced it with this Renogy 3000W PSW inverter. It is one of the more pricey inverters on Amazon, but I am quite impressed. It’s larger and a bit heavier than my old inverter and seems to be of better build quality. It starts my AC (while running my fridge and all other AC devices in the MH) every single time without a soft start device installed. The cooling fans are also much quieter. Time will tell, but I’m very happy with the purchase.

Not worth the price.
How do unit for ten months. Use it for 8 months. It It’s supplied power from a Solar System to power. A portable air conditioner for about an hour a month during hundred and ten degrees summer.. And ran a air compressor off it a hundred and twenty gallons twice. After pulling the air compressor for the second time completely died.

Just doesn’t do what it’s supposed to.
Tried it a number of times, replaced component’s around it before finally realizing the inverter just wasn’t good quality. 1200w worth of panels, a 100a controller and 400ah lithium batteries and this was the weak link. Changed to another brand and haven’t had an issue yet.

Amazing inverter, miserly manufacturer
Electrical engineer certified, does everything is designed to do. Gets a bad review rating why? Like every other little review on here. Lack of accessories, cables, and other essential components that you are forced to go out and buy just to get going. For the amount of money I paid you, I expect to be able to have this thing running out of the box. The fact I had to make a second annd third Amazon next-day order is unacceptable and frankly embarrassing for a company of this quality and reputation. It’s NOT that hard to ship a 1/0 gauge wire and control panel hookups; for a bulky 3000W inverter that is literally 0.5% of the packaging and shipping weight FFS.

Wont supply even 1200W continuous
Cant even run a small electric 1200W heater without the Red light coming on and output shutting off after only 3-4 minutes. Used a meter and drawing 108A at 12.8V – Voltage not dropping but unit shuts off. Complete waste of money. Never Renogy again.

Blown internal fuses
I originally bought this inverter a few years ago and have been using it in a camper that has a ~12v, 4s 280Ah LiFePO4 battery in it. It was able to start and run my 5000 BTU Air Conditioner without issue. I picked Renogy because I figured they had some better engineering than the typical generic branded inverters around. They also list wattage as true wattage and not peak so I appreciate the honest marketing. Recently, I pulled about 675w AC through the inverter for about 4-5 hours (was checking battery capacity). I put a 70A ANL fuse on the positive wire between the battery and the inverter. I was pulling about 65A DC the whole time. A day later I was running 200w AC (about 20A DC) through the inverter for maybe an hour. It turned off and wouldn’t power back on. No lights, no beeping, nothing. The external 70A ANL fuse was fine. Took the inverter apart, and it turns out they used 4 mini automotive 25A fuses in parallel soldered to the PCB. The fact that these are soldered and in parallel means they were more interested in cost cutting vs proper design and engineering. The issue with parallel fuses is that they don’t always share the load equally, and in this case one or two of them probably blew, which caused the rest go with it. There is a large copper plate acting as a heatsink soldered next to these fuses so they were clearly concerned about the heat these fuses generate. That is likely why they opted to solder vs use a holder, so they would have decreased connection resistance. However, a simple bolted MIDI fuse would have been about the same cost, more reliable and more easily user replaceable. Searching the reviews here and seeing others having this issue just confirms the poor engineering of this premium-priced product. These 4x 25A fuses in parallel are, on paper, supposed to be able to handle 100A, yet the 70A external fuse didn’t blow while these did. That fact only serves to further reinforces the issue. I was able to replace the fuses and it works again, so nothing internally, like the mosfets, shorted out to cause this. Was simply a poorly designed fuse issue. Since I have an external fuse, I may just solder bridge this and rely on that fuse vs these internal fuses. If I were to do this over again, I’d just go with a generic model at a fraction of the cost. Renogy isn’t adding any value here for the price they are charging. I have similar complaints about their DC to DC converter, but that’s another topic. I’d also highly recommend a higher voltage DC system if you are going to need more than 700-1000w AC in your system. The thick cabling, heat and fuses issues that come with the really high currents of a 12v system are just not worth it. 24v or even 48v would be much better if you need a lot of AC power.

Dangerous product
Just lasted a little over 2 months before it died in a spectacular show of sparks and smoke followed up by a small fire. Literally almost burned down my truck. I should have read the reviews closer but I thought perhaps they didn’t install it correctly. Definitely listen to the reviews. Gave 1 star for each month it lasted before disaster.

I’ve had this for a minute now, I have been running power tools off of it (table saw, circular saw) and using it to power a small cabin. Very happy with it.

Caveat Emptor – Dead Out of The Box
I purchased my Renogy 3000w Pure Sine Wave Inverter to add to my RV. Unfortunately, I didn’t open the box right away and missed the Amazon automatic 30-day return, which has lead to a huge problem. You see, when I did open the box and connected it to my blue-top Optima marine batteries, it turned momentarily tried to turn on, the red LED flashed, a brief “beep” sounded, and the unit shut off within one second. After double checking the connections and measuring voltage at the inverter’s input terminals, the same failure occurred four more times. A quick resistance check of the input terminals to the case showed the unit has an internal short – right out of the box. Over a month ago I opened CASE2024041300135 with Renogy customer support hoping to return this unit for a direct exchange. Between telephone calls, DMs, and emails Renogy continues to string me along and do nothing. No RMA, no shipping label, no answers, only repeated demands to repeatedly re-send them the same pictures, video, forms, and descriptions of symptoms over and over again. IF they ever get their act together and FINALLY do this simple exchange, I’ll update this review. Lesson Learned: always unbox and fully check your purchases within the Amazon 30-day return window – especially expensive purchases – because the vendor might refuse to honor their warranty and also treat you like a fool.

Great on a boat
Much cheaper than the old Marinco inverter. Hopefully the vibration from waves will not kill this unit
