Beyond the Packaging: Weighing the Positives and Negatives of the Product
Customers have praised the vacuum for its exceptional suction capabilities, which is one of the most important aspects of a vacuum cleaner. The device has been lauded for being able to handle pet hair with ease, as described by one user, “Gets all of the dog hair without a problem,” and another user who claims, “This thing really sucks!”—in the best way possible. The product is also commended for its multi-functionality and its performance on both hardwood and carpet.
The vacuum’s design has been recognized as user-friendly in terms of assembly, with customers noting that it’s “easy to assemble” and doesn’t require any tools. Moreover, it is appreciated for its light weight, which makes it easy to move around. This is especially useful for those with physical limitations, as one customer who had recently undergone surgery reported it was “light & easy to handle one-handed.” Additionally, its ability to stay upright and its long cord have been seen as positive features.
Some customers also highlighted the vacuum’s longevity and the company’s customer service. A testimonial from a user who had their vacuum for four years before it broke noted that the warranty covered the necessary replacement, stating, “Shark is sending me a brand new vacuum for free.” This suggests a commitment to customer satisfaction and product quality from the manufacturer.
However, not all feedback has been positive. A common complaint is that the vacuum is heavy to push, despite being light in weight, which could make it challenging for some users. Another user pointed out that it is “a little bulky/awkward to maneuver,” which can be inconvenient for those with limited storage space or who need to navigate tight spaces.
Another major disadvantage is the difficulty in using the vacuum under furniture. One customer expressed disappointment that it didn’t have the capability to vacuum under chairs and other furniture, unlike their previous model. Additionally, there have been reports of the vacuum being prone to breaking, with one user experiencing a failure after just three uses and another citing that the piece that holds the top on the main compartment broke off, rendering the vacuum useless.
The design has also been criticized for its complexity and inconvenience. Users have found it challenging to use due to “lots of parts,” and one even suggested that the designers “have never used a vacuum.” The hose has been noted to be short, which causes the base to tip over when extended, and the attachment hose not being stretchy enough has been another point of frustration.
Cleaning the dust bin has been noted as another issue, as pet hair tends to get trapped behind the cyclonic cylinder, requiring extra effort to clean out. Additionally, some customers were dissatisfied with the customer service and return process, with one mentioning the difficulty of repacking it in the original box for a return and another expressing disappointment with the lack of support from the retailer.
In conclusion, while the vacuum has been praised for its suction power, light weight, and ease of assembly, it also faces criticism for its maneuverability, durability, and design flaws. These mixed reviews suggest that potential buyers should weigh the pros and cons carefully and consider their specific needs and preferences before making a purchase.
What do the stars speak of?
Opinions about this product were divided in such a proportion among the buyers.
I’ve had this vacuum for 4 years, and it just broke. I figured it had a good run but decided to register it with the Shark website to see if there was a part that could extend its life before buying a new one. Turns out – the part that broke after all this time is covered by the 5 year limited warranty, and Shark is sending me a brand new vacuum for free. They are even covering shipping. I’m so happy I don’t have to buy a new one and that Shark stands behind their products!! (The part that broke off was not the roller brush itself, but the piece that secures the roller brush in place, so it was not considered a routine maintenance part.) This vacuum is light, easy to take off any piece and swap attachments. I love that it doesn’t have a typical belt like the old style vacuums had. I’ve accidentally vacuumed up a sock once and it’s so easy to remove hoses to get to a clog, then snap it right back in place. Sometimes I wish the attachment hose was a little longer or stretchier to reach those hard to reach areas, but that is my only complaint. Worth the money, and I got it on a Black Friday deal.
I was happy with my old Shark but the same model was no longer available. So, after many many weeks of research and reading many reviews, I purchased this one. My old vacuum allowed me to vacuum under chairs and other furniture, this one does not. But that is not the most important issue. It is heavy to push. Yes, I checked the weight before I bought it, and it was lighter than similar models. I wanted to return it, but according to instructions, I would have to repack it in the original box. I started to, but then realized that was more than I was capable of. So, it now sits in a corner.
Inquiries & Responses: Your Doubts Clarified
1. How effective is the Shark NV352 at trapping allergens?
The Shark NV352 Navigator Lift-Away Upright Vacuum is designed with anti-allergen technology and includes a completely sealed system with a HEPA filter. This HEPA filter captures 99.9% of dust and allergens, preventing them from being released back into the air. This makes it highly effective for individuals with allergies or those who are sensitive to dust and pet dander.
2. Can the Shark NV352 be used on both carpets and hard floors?
Yes, the Shark NV352 is versatile and can be used on both carpets and hard floors. It has specific settings for each surface type to ensure optimal cleaning. For carpets, the brush roll digs deep into the fibers to remove embedded dirt, while on hard floors, the brush roll can be turned off to avoid scattering debris.
3. Is the Shark NV352 Navigator Lift-Away vacuum heavy to carry around?
The Shark NV352 is designed to be lightweight and portable. It weighs just 12.5 pounds, which makes it relatively easy to carry around, especially when using the detachable Lift-Away pod for cleaning stairs or other hard-to-reach areas.
4. Does the Shark NV352 come with any attachments?
Yes, the Shark NV352 comes with several attachments including a wide upholstery tool for cleaning soft furnishings and a crevice tool for reaching into narrow spaces and corners. These tools enhance the vacuum’s versatility and cleaning efficiency.
5. How long is the power cord, and is the Shark NV352 cordless?
The Shark NV352 is not a cordless vacuum; it has a power cord that needs to be plugged into an electrical outlet. The length of the cord provides a good reach, allowing you to clean large areas without frequently changing outlets. However, the exact length of the power cord is not specified in the provided details.
6. What is the capacity of the dust cup, and is it easy to empty?
The dust cup of the Shark NV352 has a capacity of 1.1 quarts, which is sufficient for cleaning several rooms before needing to be emptied. The dust cup is designed for easy emptying with a simple button release to quickly and hygienically dispose of the collected dirt and debris.
7. What kind of maintenance does the Shark NV352 require?
The Shark NV352 requires regular maintenance to keep it operating at peak efficiency. This includes emptying the dust cup after each use, cleaning the filters (including the foam filter and the HEPA filter), and checking for clogs or debris wrapped around the brush roll. The filters should be rinsed and air-dried periodically according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
8. What warranty does the Shark NV352 come with?
The Shark NV352 comes with a SharkNinja five-year (5) limited warranty. This warranty covers any manufacturer defects or issues with workmanship, giving buyers confidence in their purchase. It’s important to refer to the warranty documentation for specific coverage details and the process for making a claim.

Great item!
We had purchased the exact same vacuum many years ago… It recently went out. When I say many years ago, it had to be at-least seven years ago, I have a dog and live in a two level home. I wanted to purchase the exact same one and of course I found it on Amazon! It arrived the same day, and it works as wonderfully as it ever has! All the attachments are extremely helpful, very easy to put together and very light weight as well. Cleanup is a breeze, as everything snaps on and off, a good buy for all the flooring and carpets.

Navigator extraordinaire
This vacuum cleaner sucks up dirt, dust & grime like no other. And I love that it has a reusable cylinder—so no bag replacements. That said, be careful about bumping into things. It’s made of very cheap plastic & could chip or break easily. Also, it’s a little clunky to maneuver in tight spaces. Still—it ‘s an excellent vacuum cleaner.

Tangled
Suction power is great! Dog hair gets wrapped around the vacuum head.

Used vacuum received
Nothing against Shark. I’ve always purchased Shark. ..However… Vacuum was received within a day. The box was open and the vacuum was clearly used covered in pet hair. Had to return.

Not the best Shark option
I have had 3 different Shark vacuums. Love the Shark brand, but do not like this particular model. The bin where everything collects is oddly smaller than the other models, it fills up fast, and the way it is designed you almost always have to stick you hand in to dislodge something. My other 2 did not have these problems. Today I realized I needed to clean the brush mechanism and learned there was virtually no way to take it out, had to try and clean the hair out with the brush in place. Buy Shark, just look at other models!

great for vacuuming up pet hair

Disappointed 😞
I’ve had this vacuum less then a month and it stopped working 😔

Great upright, terrible for attachments
This vacuum cleaner has some great features as an upright vacuum cleaner. First, the head swivels so that you can get underneath things sideways. Also, it is lower so that it can reach underneath things that other vacuums cannot. The dust collector is easy to remove and replace in position and is simple to empty. The only drawback is there is a tendency for dust bunnies to get stuck so that the bin doesn’t empty completely. The filters are easy to remove and to clean. Suction is excellent. Also, the vacuum allows to use suction only or to use suction with the rotating brush. Finally, other vacuums that I have owned will kick dust and dirt up and out of the port that is used for attachments but this does not. As for cleaning with the attachments, I hate this machine. It’s as if it was designed ergonomically for some alien species. Both the “D” handle and the right angle swivel at the base of the machine fight your every move. The “wand” for cleaning is also the business handle for the upright. It is heavy and awkward to disconnect. The shorter option for cleaning would be OK except for the constant struggle with a bad angle caused by the “D” handle. It would be nice when cleaning and you have to pause to move something, that you could hang the attachment on the machine and not have to lay it on the floor. Anyway, one thing seems clear: A team of geniuses designed the upright and a team of idiots designed the attachment features.

I LOVE THIS SHARK
This one is the perfect size for my smaller home, the pivot/swivel head is a game changer. Very easy to empty, portable and durable. Would buy again.

Perfect for my apartment
It works and light for my wife to use!!

Great suction! Cleans really well!
Exceptional cleaning on both hardwood and area rugs. Easy to assemble and empty. Cord is a little awkward, but that’s a minor flaw.

Great suction, but that’s it! I don’t love it.
This vacuum doesn’t have a light, the power is not on the handle and to switch from carpet to hard wood is annoying when I’m cleaning between rooms. It only has two attachments and their storage placement is not great. They fall off easy. It easily falls over then you vacuum with the handle unattached. It creates more work just to use it, but it has good suction for now. This one does not have lift away. This is very basic and I wish I could get new filters and donate it and buy a new one but I’m trying not to be frivolous being how frequently we already go through vacuums. I got this on a deal and didn’t do the normal scan for all the features I love. I realize I t’s my own fault that I purchased a vacuum I hate. I’ve had several vacuums and I feel like I have a quicker turn around than most with the amount I need it. I’ve had Dyson, Bisell, Hoover, and shark brands are my favorite. The vacuum I had three vacuums ago was my favorite- it still has great suction. But the hose broke at the base and my husband threw that whole part of the vacuum away so I use it for the cars. I will be getting another one like it next!

Shark review
It sucks,no really it works pretty well I like it so far it’s pretty light weight I wish I’d bought one with more features though

Broke Immediately
The suction was great, but as soon as it was put on carpet mode (bristles spinning on bottom) it clogged and stopped spinning permanently. I vacuumed the hallway, then it gave up so I did too.
LittleBo –
Well..
I’ve purchased two of these vacuums now; one in November 2019 and a replacement when the motor blew November 2021. Now November of 2023 I’m buying replacement hoses because they have split in several places. I love this vacuum but it doesn’t last very long.. I hope replacing the hoses will help it last longer as long as this motor holds up.
Melissa Steinmann –
Does not work on high fiber carpets
Apparently this vacuum does not work on “high fiber carpets.” After it not working on a small area rug in my son’s room I call customer service who initiated a video chat to troubleshoot and told me the vacuum would not work on the rug and that it was more for hardwood and laminate floor despite the description saying multi use. If you don’t know what kind of carpets/rugs you have skip this vacuum. It does work fine on hardwood if that’s all you have. I feel like I wasted money on this vacuum that won’t vacuum my rugs. Disappointed and doubt I will buy a Shark again.

Stops suctioning
I had one of these vacuums for about 4 years. Loved it! I have 3 dogs. Even with all the hair, keeping it clean was key. Lasted a good bit. Finally stopped suctioning and then the engine was getting really hot as it ran. I ordered a second one because I loved it so much. Now 8 months later suction stopped , engine overheats . We took it apart , blew out every possible area of clog and nothing. Bad ! Learned my lesson on shark vacuums.
Pat Morgan –
quit working after 2 months
Only have had this a couple months and the brush quit working. took it apart and the belt was fine and it works when apart. As soon as I put it back together it does not work. this thing is a pile of crap
John handy –
No height adjustment
Only problem with this vacuum is a lack of height adjustment. We have a thick pile rug in the living room(not shag). With using either the suction only or suction and roller, it is very hard to pull and even harder to push on the rug. I workout regularly and so does my wife, so strength is not the issue. Even with the suction control fully open, it makes no difference. Glad we kept our old cannister vacuum.
Amazon Customer –
great value!
Love it. Great suction, easy cleaning. Only minor drawback is there’s no light.
amanda –
This vaccum is not great for those with pets
There is a major design flaw in the handle that causes pet hair to tangle and clog the vaccum literally everytime we use it, if you have pets I would move on to something a bit better at dealing with major shedders. I would send it back but we threw the box out so stuck with it.
Harley –
Very impressed
I have not bought a new vacuum for many years, I should have bought one sooner. The suction will pull the rug up off the floor. I really was surprised by the amount of dirt that came out of my “clean” carpet. My old vacuum cleaner cost about $1000 20 years ago, and I believed the song and dance about the life time quality of the machine. This vacuum for $150 works so much better. Now I know what a vacuum should do I will make sure I own one that really cleans.
George –
Its a Shark
Replaced one that was 5 plus years old and it works great.
T. Kruskamp –
Great machine
I just wish the cord was retractable but it works great.
Elyse –
Best vacuum ever!
This was one of the best vacuum purchases I have ever made it is so lightweight and user friendly has so many different cleaning options without all of the confusion and fuss. The washable filter is excellent as I suffer from allergies to dust mites and it traps all allergen particles with ease. You can simply wash it by hand and let it air dry. The HEPA filter is metal mesh easy to clean durable and exactly what I need.
Yvonne Ziegler –
Great suction
It did very well on my throw rugs and the carpet. It’s very easy to maneuver. The weight of it makes it so much simplier to pick up and carry.
Ailsa C Lillywhite –
I’m pretty sure Shark intentionally designed it like this.
Requires a torx screwdriver to do any maintenance. Don’t know what that means? Neither did I but I ordered one, and the handle’s depth was too shallow/the screwbed too deep, so I ordered a different one and the poor quality screws were so weak that the screwdriver stripped it immediately, so now it’s stuck closed around a brush that’s stopped moving for some reason and I’ll never know why, because I give up. Seems like I’d either need to physically smash open the shell with a hammer to do anything with it, so I’m just going to give up, take the thing to a recycling facility and buy my third new vacuum of 2023. Sucks.
nicolajlowe –
Awkward
I did a lot of research & this vacuum came up with good reviews, excellent even. Every time I use this, I dislike it more and more. It constantly falls over when using the hose, there are latches all over that do not release easily. I had a previous Shark that I loved very much until my husband took it to a rental he was flipping and ruined it. I cannot understand the good reviews. I just finished vacuuming just now & came on Amazon to look for a new vacuum because using this has become such a chore.
joyce wert –
Attachments and wands
This vacuum is great BUT the attachments are very inconveniently placed. They are always getting knocked off and when you go to use the extension wand they come off with it which also is very hard to use and also ends up falling off. ALSO the button you use to disconnect the extension wand and upper hose are not easily released.

Great suction
I’ve owned this vacuum cleaner for about a year. I didn’t think it would clean as well as my highly rated, but heavy Simplicity vacuum cleaner. But when I got too old to manage the weight of the Simplicity, I thought I’d try a lighter weight cleaner, and this does the job as well. It even gets my cat’s hair out of my thick piled wool rugs. I’d buy this again if I needed it. The only down side is that there aren’t enough places on the vacuum cleaner to store the attachments. It’s a minor issue, and Shark does sell a device that you can add to the cleaner with room for additional attachments.
Kate Hickey –
Never thought I’d love a vacuum
I’m in my 70s and have a serious lung condition and a bad heart. Obviously, pushing a vacuum cleaner is not high on my list of enjoyable pastimes. But when this is on the rug/carpet setting, I just have to point it in the right direction and it does all the work. I’ve never had a vacuum that was self-propelled before and I wish I’d learned about them decades ago! Suction is fantastic, so be careful on smaller area rugs or it will suck them up and overheat. Emptying a vacuum has always been a problem, but this is totally sealed. When you flip the two latches no dust poofs out and when you lower the bottom into the trash & push the button, all the dust and debris go into the bag, not in the air. This is a priceless gift for people with breathing issues and I highly recommend it. Oh, also very light weight and easy to maneuver.

Good vacuum
Lightweight and good suction for an inexpensive vacuum.
KeesaRose –
I am impressed
the suction is amazing! we have a Golden Retriever who sheds like…. well, she sheds a lot! this gets her hair up from every surface. I love the adjustable suction control so I don’t suck up rugs.
Jeannie44 –
Great vacuum
This is the best vacuum I’ve ever had. It works really well at picking stuff up from the carpet and floors and is easy to maneuver. Also fairly lightweight for how powerful it is. A great buy.
Karo –
No owners manual
The vacuum is fine, but there is no manual. Shark, in an effort to go green they say, won’t send me one. Instead I should look at it online (not satisfactory) or download it and print it off which is not green (or acceptable) for me. Where is my users manual???
mike mclean –
great quality
top-notch quality deep cleaning

Great suction!
Great suction!!! As I was vacuuming, it was very lightweight.
Sandy B –
The canister is difficult to clean out.
This vacuum works good, nice strong suction. But it is very loud and the dust container gets stuck with debris. I don’t like it that dumping the canister out is messy, too.

Love my Shark
This is the second shark I’ve gotten! I love it. I have a German shepherd so I need something that picks up the fur well and is easy to maneuver. My only grip is that it doesn’t seem to work well on hard floors like advertised. I feel like is blows everything away instead of picking it up. Maybe I’m doing something wrong though. Thinking of getting a cordless vacuum for the hard floors.

picking up dog hair
I have only had the shark for just a few days, and I am loving it. It picks up all the dog hair off of the area rug that the old vacuum cleaner would miss. Love that there are two settings one for hardwood floors to carpet.

Strong power.
First day that I tried it… wow. It has great vacuuming power. 100% recommend if you have pets. It’s a bit heavy and I found myself struggling to use it because of the weight and how it’s built. Wish it had a retractable cord. Other than that, if your main concern is to remove EVERYTHING from your rugs, get this.
Pamela Sullivan –

It has great pick-up. The cord should be longer.

Sharks are dust eaters
I have had my old Shark for over ten years. It’s a tough vacuum. I just purchased the same model last week. Put it to work after assembly. I like the new wide pet hair nozzle. It made it super easy to clean under cabinet and around tight corners. The only issue was the red strips on the nozzle came off and had to be reattached with a little bit of adhesive glue. Overall it is a good brand.
kimseesyou2 –
So far so good!
One minor issue, but otherwise, well worth the money! Not sure why everyone says it doesn’t stand up … I have no issues with that! I have a cat and a dog and now my carpet looks new, sweet!
Angela Nicole –
Cheap body and no head light
The media could not be loaded. The suction is good. I am shocked of how thin the plastic is. It feels like a toy vacuum. I’m 90% Confident that it was made by a3D Printer. It is worth $99 or less, which I bought on sale for $99. PROS: the suction CONS: Concerned that it will crack because of how thin the plastic body is. Doesn’t come with a detachable brush. You have to clean the brushroll every time, and it’s tough to clean because the bristles are very hard. The hose is too stiff and short which makes it inconvenient. There’s no head light Before I owned a Shark professional Rotator and LOVED IT! I sold it because I had my caroet removed in that home I lived…
Guy Monteforte –
Size of dust cup
Dust cup is way to small it’s 1/3 the size of the Shark we replaced!!
Sadie Ricks –
Great vacuum, but…
I bought this just over 5 years ago. This is a solid vacuum, no question about it. About 3 years in, something broke inside that made it twice as loud when vacuuming. Eh, no biggie. But then right around the 5 year mark, a mechanism in the handle broke, causing the handle to come away from the vacuum when pulling across the floor. The warranty is for 5 years, so I guess I’m out of luck. I’m currently shopping for another vacuum, and probably will get a different one
Cori C –
Great vacuum
Wish it was self propel! But it’s a fantastic vacuum. So far the best one I’ve had.
