Beyond the Packaging: Weighing the Positives and Negatives of the Product
Customers have praised the vacuum for its exceptional suction capabilities, which is one of the most important aspects of a vacuum cleaner. The device has been lauded for being able to handle pet hair with ease, as described by one user, “Gets all of the dog hair without a problem,” and another user who claims, “This thing really sucks!”—in the best way possible. The product is also commended for its multi-functionality and its performance on both hardwood and carpet.
The vacuum’s design has been recognized as user-friendly in terms of assembly, with customers noting that it’s “easy to assemble” and doesn’t require any tools. Moreover, it is appreciated for its light weight, which makes it easy to move around. This is especially useful for those with physical limitations, as one customer who had recently undergone surgery reported it was “light & easy to handle one-handed.” Additionally, its ability to stay upright and its long cord have been seen as positive features.
Some customers also highlighted the vacuum’s longevity and the company’s customer service. A testimonial from a user who had their vacuum for four years before it broke noted that the warranty covered the necessary replacement, stating, “Shark is sending me a brand new vacuum for free.” This suggests a commitment to customer satisfaction and product quality from the manufacturer.
However, not all feedback has been positive. A common complaint is that the vacuum is heavy to push, despite being light in weight, which could make it challenging for some users. Another user pointed out that it is “a little bulky/awkward to maneuver,” which can be inconvenient for those with limited storage space or who need to navigate tight spaces.
Another major disadvantage is the difficulty in using the vacuum under furniture. One customer expressed disappointment that it didn’t have the capability to vacuum under chairs and other furniture, unlike their previous model. Additionally, there have been reports of the vacuum being prone to breaking, with one user experiencing a failure after just three uses and another citing that the piece that holds the top on the main compartment broke off, rendering the vacuum useless.
The design has also been criticized for its complexity and inconvenience. Users have found it challenging to use due to “lots of parts,” and one even suggested that the designers “have never used a vacuum.” The hose has been noted to be short, which causes the base to tip over when extended, and the attachment hose not being stretchy enough has been another point of frustration.
Cleaning the dust bin has been noted as another issue, as pet hair tends to get trapped behind the cyclonic cylinder, requiring extra effort to clean out. Additionally, some customers were dissatisfied with the customer service and return process, with one mentioning the difficulty of repacking it in the original box for a return and another expressing disappointment with the lack of support from the retailer.
In conclusion, while the vacuum has been praised for its suction power, light weight, and ease of assembly, it also faces criticism for its maneuverability, durability, and design flaws. These mixed reviews suggest that potential buyers should weigh the pros and cons carefully and consider their specific needs and preferences before making a purchase.
What do the stars speak of?
Opinions about this product were divided in such a proportion among the buyers.
I’ve had this vacuum for 4 years, and it just broke. I figured it had a good run but decided to register it with the Shark website to see if there was a part that could extend its life before buying a new one. Turns out – the part that broke after all this time is covered by the 5 year limited warranty, and Shark is sending me a brand new vacuum for free. They are even covering shipping. I’m so happy I don’t have to buy a new one and that Shark stands behind their products!! (The part that broke off was not the roller brush itself, but the piece that secures the roller brush in place, so it was not considered a routine maintenance part.) This vacuum is light, easy to take off any piece and swap attachments. I love that it doesn’t have a typical belt like the old style vacuums had. I’ve accidentally vacuumed up a sock once and it’s so easy to remove hoses to get to a clog, then snap it right back in place. Sometimes I wish the attachment hose was a little longer or stretchier to reach those hard to reach areas, but that is my only complaint. Worth the money, and I got it on a Black Friday deal.
I was happy with my old Shark but the same model was no longer available. So, after many many weeks of research and reading many reviews, I purchased this one. My old vacuum allowed me to vacuum under chairs and other furniture, this one does not. But that is not the most important issue. It is heavy to push. Yes, I checked the weight before I bought it, and it was lighter than similar models. I wanted to return it, but according to instructions, I would have to repack it in the original box. I started to, but then realized that was more than I was capable of. So, it now sits in a corner.
Inquiries & Responses: Your Doubts Clarified
1. How effective is the Shark NV352 at trapping allergens?
The Shark NV352 Navigator Lift-Away Upright Vacuum is designed with anti-allergen technology and includes a completely sealed system with a HEPA filter. This HEPA filter captures 99.9% of dust and allergens, preventing them from being released back into the air. This makes it highly effective for individuals with allergies or those who are sensitive to dust and pet dander.
2. Can the Shark NV352 be used on both carpets and hard floors?
Yes, the Shark NV352 is versatile and can be used on both carpets and hard floors. It has specific settings for each surface type to ensure optimal cleaning. For carpets, the brush roll digs deep into the fibers to remove embedded dirt, while on hard floors, the brush roll can be turned off to avoid scattering debris.
3. Is the Shark NV352 Navigator Lift-Away vacuum heavy to carry around?
The Shark NV352 is designed to be lightweight and portable. It weighs just 12.5 pounds, which makes it relatively easy to carry around, especially when using the detachable Lift-Away pod for cleaning stairs or other hard-to-reach areas.
4. Does the Shark NV352 come with any attachments?
Yes, the Shark NV352 comes with several attachments including a wide upholstery tool for cleaning soft furnishings and a crevice tool for reaching into narrow spaces and corners. These tools enhance the vacuum’s versatility and cleaning efficiency.
5. How long is the power cord, and is the Shark NV352 cordless?
The Shark NV352 is not a cordless vacuum; it has a power cord that needs to be plugged into an electrical outlet. The length of the cord provides a good reach, allowing you to clean large areas without frequently changing outlets. However, the exact length of the power cord is not specified in the provided details.
6. What is the capacity of the dust cup, and is it easy to empty?
The dust cup of the Shark NV352 has a capacity of 1.1 quarts, which is sufficient for cleaning several rooms before needing to be emptied. The dust cup is designed for easy emptying with a simple button release to quickly and hygienically dispose of the collected dirt and debris.
7. What kind of maintenance does the Shark NV352 require?
The Shark NV352 requires regular maintenance to keep it operating at peak efficiency. This includes emptying the dust cup after each use, cleaning the filters (including the foam filter and the HEPA filter), and checking for clogs or debris wrapped around the brush roll. The filters should be rinsed and air-dried periodically according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
8. What warranty does the Shark NV352 come with?
The Shark NV352 comes with a SharkNinja five-year (5) limited warranty. This warranty covers any manufacturer defects or issues with workmanship, giving buyers confidence in their purchase. It’s important to refer to the warranty documentation for specific coverage details and the process for making a claim.

Economical & powerful
Suction is great; vacuum is lightweight and easy to manuever. It’s very easy to adjust the suction so moving between floor and rug/carpet is not an issue. Canister is very easy to remove/replace to empty. The attachment holders are inconveniently placed on the vacuum, and they fall off. Answer is to take them off and store elsewhere when not in use…and what this set is missing is a long handle and a brush. I’m now ordering 3rd party attachments since I don’t see Shark attachments as an option (although I haven’t spent much time researching). Overall, glad I made this purchase – got most of what I wanted for a reasonable price (BTW, significantly beat Costco pricing).

I love this vacuum and you will too
Okay I seriously do love this vacuum. When it says “lift” it almost feels like it takes you with it on lower pile rugs. I like that you can detach from the base on really move around the house cleaning out corners and crevices. The ONLY thing I would recommend for this vacuum is that it had a pull back for the cord. I’ve had a far less expensive vacuum that would suck the cord back in so you didn’t have to wrap it around the body. Honestly it’s not a huge deal in the grand scheme of things but I use this every day and my kids even use it with their chores and they are 7,10,13.

really sucks well
I have had this for about 8 months and this is about the best vacuum I’ve had. excellent on carpet and vinyl floors.

Missing parts
The vacuum works well but is missing several attachments and the accessory bag. This was advertised as a complete used set, but only came with two out of 6 attachments.
Leicht –
Poorly made, falls apart, poor design.
Suction wasn’t bad, but the product is very poorly designed, difficult to use, and it fell apart after a couple of weeks of use. Customer service is terrible–courteous but very poorly trained.
Fancy Nancy –
Broke after 3 Months
Worked fine at first, but the suction power inexplicably stopped working after just a couple of months. I only used it twice a week max in a very small cabin. Will never buy this brand again.

Wish I hadn’t bought it
Not an easy vac to use due to poor design. Cord to short, heavy plastic, switch location not in handle but low on machine and awkward to reach. Plastic hose stiff and short to use with 2 attachments that come with it. Cheap plastic attachment holder that slips into handle is a waste cuz attachments either fall off or get in way of handle. Little plastic cord keeper that you’re suppose to use is placed where all it does is cause the cord to get tangled around you and the vac. Would return it if I hadn’t used it and discovered all of its many flaws
things AND stuff –
all-around very good
PROS – Great suction power. – Cleans carpet very well. I can’t believe how much dust and hair are captured. – Modular design that lets you extend the hose or detach from the base is very convenient. – Easy to steer. – Quality construction. – 2-stage air filters seem to work very well, especially given the extremely fine dust that the machine captures. – Very clever rotating hooks for winding the cord. – Value. CONS – When using the extended hose and wand, the motor sitting on the base is very unstable; it tips over easily. – It struggles on hardwood floors. I tried with the power roller off (as suggested) and with it on. – The accessory holder for the crevice tool and upholstery head is helpful, but it sticks off the handle far enough that I often bang it into things. – The dust bin has a LOT of molded plastic and connecting pieces inside the bin. When you turn it over to dump, there is always a big clump of dirt/hair that remains stuck. This might be the single worst thing in the design.

Very reliable and priced right
This is the only vacuum that my wife will use because it’s always reliable and affordable.

An excellent bagless that needs a good bit of filter maintenance to keep running properly
This Shark is fairly small, lite, with a limited footprint that does clean like a champ on both bare floors and carpets. It’s surprising what this vacuum cleaner picks up. What’s the issue? The Shark relies on its secondary filters to do a lot of the filtration work that would otherwise be handled by a paper bag filter setup…meaning that even after a single house-wide vacuum adventure, the secondary filters (esp. the top filter) really need to be cleaned. That is, the main refuse compartment which is easily emptied (outside is best) only does a so-so job at trapping fine dust and you really need to be on top of the secondary filter set (two of them) to keep the vacuum running at its best (meaning you need to purchase at least one set of the filters so you can hand-clean and dry them when necessary and rotate them). I truly dislike bagless vacuum cleaners for this reason but at least this Shark does a fine job at vacuuming, the extra filter labor notwithstanding.

brushroll died after one year
I barely ever used this vacuum but the brushroll is now dead. I’m just outside of the one year warranty.

Need more than 5 stars!
I bought this Shark because my Kirby was just getting too much to lug around & down stairs. Not that I don’t like my Kirby but it didn’t seem to be getting up the dirt off my carpets as well as it used to. After using this Shark the very first time, the dirt cup was half full!! Yikes! The suction is great & I love that I can go from carpet to bare floors without having to change any attachments. I like the swivel head too. And it’s also lighter to carry when needed. And no bags!! Whoohooo! The filters & dirt cup are easy to clean, too. The dirt cup opens from either the top or the bottom. I also like that the hose attachment is right there…..so handy. The only thing I wish was different was that this model isn’t the lift off model but that was my fault for not paying attention to that before buying. Definitely recommend this Shark!

A year in and still doing a good job
I am generally quite pleased with this — especially compared to the cordless Dyson which had very low suction. Still working fine but I didn’t give it five stars bc it’s wonky in a couple respects. The cord placement is inconvenient. I would guess it’s there to accommodate the unit breaking down into the more compact version but the cord is a bit hard to manage. It seems to be in the way a lot .And then the more compact version itself — for stairs, etc. — is only ok, in part bc of the lack of attachments. It would be great to have something besides an upholstery attachment to clean the stairs when using the more compact version of the vacuum.

Heavy
this vacuum is very heavy, if you looking for something light weight do not buy this vacuum, I have the navigator rotator in white and it’s much better then this one, this one is hard to do when you pull the wand out to get cracks and along the wall trim it doesnt stretch far and it doesnt do stairs consider something else there are better shark vacuums I have an older model which is way better
Robert G. Druckrey –
We don’t havy stairs to use it on, however we really love our new Shark Upright!
It really cleans. It was unbelievable how much dirt it picked up with first cleaning, at least a half container. And the second cleaning it picked up at least a quarter of the collector.
Amazon Customer –
Broke after less than two months! Don’t buy
It’s crap. Don’t bother.
Old Techie –
The suction is great. It picked up a lot of dust my old Oreck left behind
I have two things I would ding it on. It is a little heavier than my old Oreck when put together. I don’t have stairs but I think when it is in detached mode it should be light enough. For vacuuming floors this thing is great. I still use the portable Oreck when I want to be mobile.

It’s a beast
Bought this vacuum so I didn’t have to haul my wife’s vacuum downstairs to my poolroom. It does a good job especially after some of our pool parties when the carpet is a mess.
z-man –
Works well but needs longer cord
Like the suction power of this vac…cleans hardwood floors and carpet….come on Shark add 5 ft to the cord length…would recommend
gabriella bell –
I hate this vacuum
We were scammed by all the good reviews. It is difficult to use. The handle is very tall, I am 5’6” and it gives me shoulder pain everytime I use it. It is also very narrow so vacuuming takes longer. It is difficult to empty the can and it made a mess on the floor when I tried. It is not easy to use on the stairs. The plug also falls out of the outlets very easily. I have never had anything fall out of an outlet before. My old Hoover never did that. The only thing that is good is the suction but still don’t buy this item, I am sorry we did.

7 years going strong
This vacuum has survived 3 moves and 2 hairy dogs. Easy to clean and tough as nails, this Shark is a champ. I’d buy another in a minute.

Works really well!
This was worth it! Got it and used it right away. Easy to put together and easy to use! As you can see, I really gets things clean! My other vacuum was not doing a great job I hope it can hold up against 3 kids and a cat. Only time will tell but love it so far!

Trash
Brush stopped spinning after 3 months. Unacceptable for something this expensive!
Robin Humphrey –
Worth it
Awesome vacuum! The only thing I dislike is the cord length. It needs to be about 3 ft longer. Very lightweight and great suction!
Shelli Moreno –
I should have paid more for a better vacuum
This vacuum has good suction, but it does not have good reach. The handheld hose is too short, so the vacuum pulls over almost every time I use it. The cord is also very short, so I have to change outlets often as I work my way through my home. I wish that I had actually looked at this in person (at a store) before buying it because it’s just too small for my needs. I don’t have stairs in my house, so it may work great on stairs, I just don’t know that.
Kenna Obregon –
I love it!
For years, I’ve been using a full-size rainbow vacuum. It’s been an amazing vacuum, except that it is very very heavy. Therefore, I have really enjoyed this new vacuum. It has a great suction and is very maneuverable. It’s much easier for a 70+ year-old woman to use.

SUCK ZONE
This vac SUCKS literally and in a good way!
Kindle Customer –
Love it but cord placement bothersome
Easy to push on low nap carpet. Could not believe how much it picked up from a carpet vaccuumed at least once weekly. Picked up lots of hair but almost none wound around the brush roller. Will not use wand much so duct taped cord high up the wand to prevent running over cord and to facilitate cord handling during use. Alternately the cord can be tied with easily removed string around the upper cord holder clip. After empting, the dust cup and cone filter can be easily cleaned using a garden hose sprayer. The pre-motor foam filter is also easily easily cleaned by running water over it and squeezing until clean.
Meeks –
fav vacuum
this is my favorite vacuum cleaner ever. it is light weight and easy to maneuver and handle. My previous vacuum cleaner was so heavy and bulky, it hurt my wrists/arms. This vacuum cleaner doesnt!! it also sucks everything without being too powerful where i have to stop the vacuum. Its not too loud and easy to dump the lint. This gets rid of dirt/dust that my other really expensive vacuum cleaner couldnt get. i am so satisfied when i throw out the lint.

Hair
I ordered a new vacuum and it arrived with hair, dirt and dog hair inside of it already. Very disappointing.

Good as upright but difficult to. use as handheld with accessories
not good for seniors
Laura Grant –
You will not be happy with this vacuum if you have a large area to clean
I spent a lot of time reviewing the best vacuum cleaner. The floor brush head of this Shark Navigator Lift Away is very small in width. It takes longer to clean a large area and I have to make several passes at times to see a result. The bottom hose pops off randomly. The crevice tool falls off easily. The canister doesn’t pop off with a button. I have to unlatch each side and then reach up in the canister to clean debris out. Disappointed to say the least.
KC –
Save your money
This cleaner has never worked well. It does not work well on hardwood floors, just throws everything around the floor. It is always tipping over, the hose does not extract when in use. The hose broke in the first year of use, probably by trying to extend the hose. Now it has been two years, and the head is broken, and the unit is trash. I will replace it with a better built, better working, cheeper cleaner. If you do not mind just throwing your money away, this is the cleaner for you.
SPYC1 –
Very Plesantly Surprised
I replaced my heavy upright with this Shark model. It checked all the boxes: smaller, lighter, easy maneuverability. Was amazed at the suction power! It made me realize that I only ‘thought’ I was cleaning before. Now I know the carpets are clean. What a difference! Super Happy!
Matt Power –
Good vacuum for carpet, not so much hardwoods
This has great suction on my rug but when I switch the rollers off to vacuum the hardwood, the suction is not as great and it will blow dust out the back end. If I could return it, I probably would. Oh and it will not pick up any dogfood or little pebbles the dogs bring inside.

Great vacuum!
Was a gift for my daughter with a long-haired cat she loves this vac and says it does a great job.

2nd purchase is this item
Easy to navigate and doesn’t just move the dirt around.
Lablueeyes –
Best vacuum I’ve ever owned!
In my 71 years I have owned a lot of vacuum cleaners – a Sears canister, a Kirby upright, a Miele and assorted other brands. This is the bomb! The first time I used it I was shocked – had to empty the canister immediately because of what it had picked up from my “clean” carpet. Great on my laminate floors, too.

Holy cow!
I’ve been a loyal Dyson vacuum customer for decades. Specifically the ones for pet hair, as I have a husky and a German shepherd. I needed a new vacuum and looked at consumer reports. This was the #2 recommendation. I vacuumed using my Dyson. Then I went over everything again with my new Shark. The pet hair and dirt you see is what the Shark picked up after vacuuming with a 2 year old Dyson. I’m disgusted and embarrassed. I vacuum daily. There is NO reason for this much grossness on my floor after just having vacuumed. I’m seriously impressed and will NEVER buy another Dyson again. I love this vacuum!

This is a great vacuum. I love that I can take it apart to clean stairs easily.

Love this
Works great on carpet and hard floor. It does have great suction. Only downside top heavy and tips over a lot when not in use or using tools

This thing is awesome!!!!
For a vacuum, i must say this Shark is incredible. The first time I turned it on, it was hard to push over the carpet. I then realized the suction was at full so I turned it down a little, and WOW. This vac pulled dirt out of the carpet that I had no idea could be there. I had one of the pricier German made ones, no comparison. The Dyson, forgetit. No wonder commercial cleaners use this vacuum, it does a fantastic job. Yes, I would buy it again in a second, but I have one now so I will suggest you get one.
Kathy J. McCauley –
If you have a dog, this product is for you!
Found this model via Wirecutter, and I am obsessed. I know that sounds ridiculous, but when you want to vacuum every day it’s an obsession. Our house has no stairs so I can’t comment on that, but we do have hardwood floors and an 80 lb. dog who sheds his white hair constantly despite frequent brushing. The Shark picks up everything, and now instead of washing his dog bed twice a week I vacuum it every other day. Shark is so light and attachments are very easy to use; now vacuuming my enclosed porch as well as all door/floor mats. Pretty lavender color is a bonus.
Rocket42 –
Not much suction.
I have another Navigator that I have been using for years and I love it. This one was a disappointment. The suction power is weak. It did not pick up hair very well. However, it is nice and light and easy to use.
Faith B. –
HOUSEKEEPER APPROVAL
This vacuum is wayyyy better then I expected. I have tile, vacuum, and linoleum. The brush role setting does ABSOLUTE MAGIC ON MY CARPET. My bf said it was already cleaned until I vacuumed once the canister was filled with dust, dirt, hair, and so much other crap. We were both blown away. The bare floor setting is amazing too. The only downside of this vacuum is when you use the extension, the coil/rubber tubing is so thick and strong you can’t go more then a foot or so from the vacuum to get say corners or baseboards. Perfect for every other use! 10/10

Exactly what I was looking for
I’m a stylist and really needed a vacuum to suck up hair on a carpet walkway (which is a pain to get up). This vacuum does a great job and I love how lightweight it is. I also appreciate that you can detach for stairs.
