The Good, the Bad, and the Product: An In-Depth Review
The product in question, presumably a robotic vacuum cleaner, seems to have certain qualities that a number of users have found to be beneficial. Customers like Maggie and Ken who gave the product a five-star rating have praised it for making life significantly easier, especially for pet owners dealing with dog hair. The vacuum’s ability to operate autonomously and return to its charging dock without human intervention has been highlighted as a convenient feature, providing a hands-free cleaning experience. Another user, Stef, commended the vacuum for its excellent battery life and the ability to be controlled via a smartphone app, adding to the convenience factor. The user who compared the product to an iLife model mentioned that this vacuum is a substantial improvement, picking up more debris and offering a longer battery life.
However, a substantial number of users have experienced several issues with the product, which is reflected in the overall negative sentiment found in the reviews. One of the primary concerns, as pointed out by users like Marshall P. and Sal K., is the lack of an efficient cleaning pattern. The vacuum is reported to move around with “no methodology at all”, bouncing around and often missing spots. This randomness in its cleaning path leads to unsatisfactory coverage and can result in frustration for users expecting a systematic cleaning approach.
Another significant issue mentioned by users, such as Allison M. and Sierra Froman, is the inability to connect to Wi-Fi or the associated app. This is particularly problematic as the app is advertised to offer features like mapping and scheduling, which are important for a modern robotic vacuum. Customers have found themselves unable to utilize these functions due to connectivity problems, with one user, Nancy, deeming the product a “waste of time and money” due to its poor charge holding capacity.
The vacuum’s physical interaction with the environment has also been criticized. It’s reported to hit obstacles with force, as stated by Del, and potentially leave marks on furniture. This is a concern for those who wish to maintain the condition of their home decor. Additionally, the device’s suction power, although deemed decent by some, has been labeled subpar by others like Erica, who received a model different from what was advertised and found it lacking in performance. Noise levels have also been a point of contention, with users like Guadalupe D. finding the vacuum loud enough to be disturbing when at home.
In terms of customer support, there seems to be a notable lack of responsive and helpful service, as highlighted by users attempting to troubleshoot their issues with no success. This adds to the overall disappointment with the product, with some customers expressing regret over their purchase and a desire for a refund.
In conclusion, while the robotic vacuum cleaner does offer the convenience of automated cleaning and has been found to be beneficial by some users, a considerable number of reviewers have encountered significant issues. These range from ineffective cleaning patterns and poor connectivity to inadequate customer support. Prospective buyers should weigh these considerations carefully before making a purchase decision.
What do the stars speak of?
Opinions about this product were divided in such a proportion among the buyers.
We have three dogs and this makes my life so much easier.
Vacuums well. Instantly picked up loads of cat hair. It cannot find the dock…..ever. in between use had to add the robot and resync it each time. I’m running out of silly names to call it. It is supposed to be easy. It does not operate well since It cannot ever dock and It never responds to app unless deleted and re-added. This was the inexpensive model get what you pay for.

Q&A Corner: Shedding Light on Your Questions
1. Can the Shark ION Robot Vacuum AV751 be used on all types of carpet, and how effective is it on high-pile carpets? The Shark ION Robot Vacuum AV751 is designed for multi-surface cleaning, including carpets. It works well on low to medium-pile carpets due to its Tri-Brush System. However, its performance on high-pile carpets may not be as effective because thick carpet fibers can hinder the movement and suction of the vacuum. If you have high-pile carpets, it may be necessary to use a traditional vacuum for deep cleaning.
2. How does the Shark ION Robot Vacuum AV751 handle pet hair? This vacuum is equipped with a multi-surface brushroll that is designed to pick up pet hair from floors and carpets. The side brushes and channel brushes help to capture hair along edges and in corners. While it does a good job with pet hair, regular maintenance of the brushroll and filter is recommended to ensure optimal performance.
3. Can I schedule cleanings with the Shark ION Robot Vacuum AV751?Yes, you can schedule cleanings with the Shark ION Robot Vacuum AV751 using the SharkClean app. This allows you to set specific times for the vacuum to start cleaning, even when you’re not at home. The vacuum can also be started manually or via voice control with Alexa or Google Assistant.
4. How does the Shark ION Robot Vacuum AV751 navigate around furniture and obstacles? The Shark ION Robot Vacuum AV751 uses sensors to navigate around furniture and obstacles in your home. It is designed to avoid collisions and drop-offs, such as stairs. However, in some instances, it may gently bump into objects as part of its navigation process. For best results, remove clutter from the floor before starting a cleaning session.
5. What maintenance is required for the Shark ION Robot Vacuum AV751?To maintain the Shark ION Robot Vacuum AV751, you should regularly empty the dustbin, clean the filter, and remove any tangled hair or debris from the brushroll. The side brushes may also need to be replaced periodically. Following the manufacturer’s maintenance guidelines will help to keep the vacuum running smoothly.
6. Does the Shark ION Robot Vacuum AV751 work well on dark or black carpets?Robot vacuums, including the Shark ION Robot Vacuum AV751, may sometimes struggle with dark or black carpets because the cliff sensors can mistake them for ledges or stairs, causing the vacuum to avoid those areas. However, many users have reported that this vacuum can clean dark carpets without issues. It’s recommended to test the vacuum on your specific carpet to determine performance.
7. What happens if the Shark ION Robot Vacuum AV751 runs out of battery during cleaning? If the Shark ION Robot Vacuum AV751 runs out of battery during a cleaning session, it will automatically return to its charging dock to recharge. Once it has enough battery power, it can resume cleaning where it left off, ensuring your floors are thoroughly cleaned.
8. Can I control the Shark ION Robot Vacuum AV751 with my smartphone?Yes, you can control the Shark ION Robot Vacuum AV751 with your smartphone using the SharkClean app. The app allows you to start and stop cleanings, set schedules, receive notifications, and monitor the status of your vacuum. Additionally, you can use voice commands through Alexa or Google Assistant for hands-free control.

Don’t waste money
Got it to help with dog hair in between vacuum days and it gets stuck in the same spot and leaves piles of dog hair everywhere even after emptying it
Kira –
No
I have an off brand auto vacuum that works better than this one and doesn’t get stuck near as much.
Dre –
App doesn’t work
Impossible to pair with phone app. After looking online it is a known issue. I’m not sure why they even call it a feature. It’s very important for me and not possible so I’m returning and going with another brand.

The Perfect Gift That Keeps on Giving!
A few years ago, I decided to surprise my daughter-in-law with the Shark AV752 ION Robot Vacuum as a gift, and let me tell you, it’s been a total hit! She absolutely loves it, and I’ve become the hero of gift-giving in the family. This little machine has been tirelessly keeping her home spotless with its impressive Tri-Brush System that tackles everything from pet hair to crumbs on both carpets and hard floors. She’s always raving about how easy it is to control with the SharkClean app or just by telling Alexa to get it going—hands-free cleaning at its finest! With a 120-minute runtime, it powers through her whole downstairs without breaking a sweat. It’s been a game-changer for her busy life, and I’m thrilled I picked such a winner. Pros: • The Tri-Brush System is a beast—sweeps up debris from every surface effortlessly. • Wi-Fi and Alexa compatibility make it super convenient, especially for a tech-savvy household. • 120-minute runtime means it covers a lot of ground in one go. • Cliff sensors keep it from tumbling down stairs or banging into furniture. • She says it’s reliable and still going strong after years of use! Cons: • It can be a bit noisy on the highest setting, so she usually runs it when she’s out of the house. • The dustbin needs frequent emptying if you’ve got pets or a lot of mess, but it’s a small price to pay. I couldn’t be happier with this purchase—it’s practical, thoughtful, and has made my daughter-in-law’s life so much easier. If you’re looking for a gift (or a treat for yourself), the Shark AV752 is a five-star choice all the way!

Love it! Wish it came with magnetic strips.
Great vacuum. I don’t use it as my main vacuum but is great for quick clean ups. Definitely worth the money. The only con is that it doesn’t come with magnetic strips to put down so you can keep it in designated area. The magnetic strips can be purchased separately. Make sure you get the ones that are compatible with this model.
Miranda –
Meh, it will do
This is my 3rd Shark robot vacuum and I’m disappointed. 1st got old and quit working, 2nd I sold before we moved. This one bumps into everything and misses large areas. It takes 30 min+ to find the dock when finished cleaning. Does NOT come with magnetic strip. The noise level is acceptable. And it cleans maybe 90% of the floor space. It sounds like this one only lasts about 2 years so I’ll keep up and start researching a better model or manufacturer.

Very disappointing
It’s flimsily made, rattles when it bumps into things, has flimsy plastic parts that when removed for cleaning don’t always go back into place easily. My Shark Ion Robot vacuum from 2017, whose battery is wearing out after years of heavy use and dog hair, still vacuums edges, corners and wood floors more thoroughly than this newer model Shark AV752 ION Robot Vacuum, Tri-Brush System. This new one is better than nothing, but I’m sorry I purchased it. The Shark quality really went down. I wish I could still purchase a Shark vacuum like my old one from 2017.

great purchase
I love this vacuum. I was surprised at the great job it does.

Still Going Strong Three Years Later
This works just the same as it did the first day. I dropped it on our ceramic floor last week and thought for sure I’d broken it. But I set it down, pressed “clean” and off it went. There aren’t even any chips broken off the casing as I expected after a drop like that. I’m impressed!
Mark Wilson –
Not perfect, but awesome for two years – good buy
Pros: Cleans well Simple to clean/replace parts Good for single floor homes Cons: Loud/bumps into walls App not fantastic but servicable No grid cleaning Floor needs to be clear (no items laying around) After nearly two years my device finally stopped working. I absolutely loved this machine and was devastated when it stopped working. I used this machine daily, often twice a day, for nearly two years. In that time, I used my standup vacuum maybe a handful of times for big messes that need to be cleaned up immediately. Other than that, I used the robot vacuum. I lived in single story 2 and 3 bedroom apartments with a mix of carpet/tile while the vacuum was in use. Mostly live alone with one cat. I learned quickly that prior to having this robot vacuum, I was not cleaning my floor often enough. Every single time I would run the Shark it would pick up huge clumps of cat hair, dirt, and debris. I often received compliments on how clean my place was. For the first year or so, I had the Shark set to start cleaning while I was at work. After it got stuck a few times and ran out of battery I decided to just run it manually. Manual use is super simple – literally just press the button on the device and it takes off. It would run for about two hours or so and return to the charging base. It is not methodical in the way it cleans – it just bounces from wall to wall like that old screensaver (it’s kind of addictive to watch) – but it does the job. You do need to make sure to pick up any big things on the floor before you run it. It will get caught in curtains, shoe strings, phone charging cables, dirty clothes, etc. and it’s kind of loud. Definitely not anywhere near a standup vacuum, but it does make a whirring noise and bumps a little too loudly against the walls. Living in an apartment, I didn’t run it at night because the thumps might’ve bothered my downstairs neighbors. I didn’t like to have it running while I had company over or when I was trying to nap, but other than that it was fine. Cleaning (the vacuum) is self explanatory I think, comparable to other robot vacuums from what I can tell. I needed to open it up and clean the brush maybe quarterly if necessary. The brushes start to bend after getting used, but I just switched which side they were on to get them to bend the other way – not an issue at all. I actually replaced the brushes and filter only once after about a year. I accidentally threw away the filter and didn’t even realize it was gone for months, the vacuum still worked great. This was easily the cleaning device I used the most and I will be prioritizing getting a replacement asap.
Erik –
decent vacuum but
they do not sell the replacement brushes anywhere including sharks website and no one makes and off brand replacement. if I had known how little support there would be for this model I would not have gotten. AVOID

Vacuum
Best robot vacuum available. Vacuum mapping system is easy to setup. App is easy to navigate. Vacuum runs itself after that!

Very efficient
This is my 2nd vaccuum it’s really good it cleans up all the crumbs on the floor. It is compact and efficient. This is the best vaccuum I have ever had!

Cleaned well but only lasted 18 months
We have had good success with Shark products overall. We thought this was a great purchase. Did well for a year and then we started to have problems. Would not dock or clean. We made sure everything on the unit was clean, changed out the brushes, and went through the troubleshooting steps. It would work for a while and the just shut down. We felt it should have lasted longer than 18 months. It was great for cleaning, not so great for reliability. We gave up on it and purchased a different brand.

Lasted 1 year 3 montjs
Stopped working after 1 year and 3 months
C.R. –
Not the best on the market
Suction is great but it roams very randomly and has no mapping capabilities. If it bumps into obstacles, it goes off in opposite direction and doesn’t return to that area. It also does not have an alert to a full dustbin. Dustbin is difficult to open.
Kay –
Nice
This works great. I just wish I’d noticed that it is not the self emptying kind.
michelle simmons –
Not a good product
This product did not last a good year . Big hype for nothing

Crappy vacuum and gets stuck everywhere. Doesn’t let you connect through the app even if you reboot like it says.

Amazon Customer –
Worse over time
First, this -does- pick up a fair amount of dust. Small dog hair? Not so much. Sadly, it’s really not something you can “set and forget” — this thing bumps into EVERYTHING. It doesn’t seem to have any sensors except the bumper. It gets stuck trying to go over the dog bowl. Gets tangled in curtains. Trapped on rug edges. It tends to focus more on the edges of the room than the middle. If I could send it back for a refund, I would. It’s loud, it scuffs furniture, and honestly would really only be helpful if you had a completely empty room.
melissa reiland –
Finally bought it
After years of wanting one I got it. Used for a few days now. Love it. Easy set up and use. Picks up way more than I expected.
Amazon Customer –
Robo Vac Sucks
I’ve had several different robovacs they worked great this one is garbage it barely has suction I cannot no matter what I try get it to connect to the app.it has issues docking as well. I’ll be throwing this in garbage real soon.

Baby Shark
I love it in general. It works well if you use it regularly. It still tries to mate with the pedestal fan in my bedroom for some reason. If you change your wifi password be prepared for utter HELL. That was not amusing whatsoever. I finally came across a YouTube video that did say to delete the device from the app. It would not reconnect for quite a while and never spoke to connect in discovery mode but I finally got it. That should really not be so difficult to do.

Hits furniture very hard! Does clean well.
This is my third robot vacuum and I’ll have to say, this one is the worst at ramming into furniture. Wish I would have seen reviews stating this before I got it, because I wouldn’t have purchased it. I saw the reviews and they said it cleaned well, but no one said how hard it hits the furniture. I would have purchased another of the Coredy brand, but it was no longer sold. I bought this for the cleaning reviews and the Shark name. So if you don’t mind it hitting your furniture very hard, then it does clean well.
