For years I have always purchased my vacuum’s based on “price”. For some reason I felt the more expensive vacuum was better quality I I WAS ABSOLUTELY WRONG !!!! – – It took this purchase of the Bissell® CleanView Swivel Vacuum to proved to me price means NOTHING. It is expertly designed – very easy to use – to empty – to clear the hose of blocks. All the parts click into place perfectly. The suction is unbelievably strong and the hose is nice and long so I can reach up to the ceiling with no problems. I THINK BISSELL DESERVES A THUMBS UP FOR THIS ONE !!!!!
I bought this in September 2024, and the drive belt broke in January 2025. Drive belts and filters are not covered under warranty. Given that these are prone to break, you would think the design would facilitate replacement – but no. Rather than a simple system without screws, you have to remove 7 screws to get to the brush area. In my case, dog hair had built up underneath the belt cover and eventually broke the drive belt. In the picture, the lime green plastic cover on the left is where the belt is. Note that you would have to remove the cover screws to clean the brush or even to simply check for dog hair build up. I bet the screws aren’t under warranty either, since stripping them is all too likely. Otherwise, I love how good a job this does pulling up Golden Retriever fur off the carpet. It is a shame none of the product designers considered whether it is simple to maintain.

Oh My Goodness!

Broke within 2 months
We really liked this initially, but it broke within two months of use. The belt melted and burned through, and the plastic surrounding it melted a bit too. We live in a small two bedroom home, so it wasn’t overused by any means. I wouldn’t buy again.

Amazed & Disgusted
I used this vacuum on our large area rug as soon as it arrived. I have an Aussie who sheds like crazy and 2 little ones. The rug gets vacuumed often by our robo vac but I knew it was not cutting it. OH MY GOODNESS. The amount of nastiness that this vacuum just suctioned out of our carpet is disgusting but also amazing. If after owning this vacuum for a while, my opinion changes trust I will update this review, but on the first go around this thing is amazing.!

Parts missing
It’s missing lower cord wrap(#5 on parts list) and extension wand(#6 on parts list). Parts not in box when I opened it. No damage to the box. Other than that it works great.

The best vacuum I’ve ever purchased!
I love this vacuum cleaner. It’s well built. The suction is INCREDIBLE!! I’ve had some really expensive vacuum cleaners and this is right up there with them. Maybe even surpasses them! It’s so easy to use. It has great maneuverability. It also has little brushes that protrude out the sides so you don’t miss anything. It’s easy to push… it practically glides across the carpet and the carpet looks incredible! It brings back the pile and in one pass, it cleans the carpet! I would most definitely recommend this vacuum cleaner. As a matter of fact, I’m buying a second one for our motorhome!

This is by far the best vacuum I’ve ever used and owned. While visiting my daughter I was helping with some housework and used this vacuum. I was so impressed with how it cleaned her rugs that I bought it for my home! Even after getting my carpets professionally cleaned this vacuum picked up so much gunk and we’ve only been in our home for under 3 years. This is amazing and I couldn’t stop cleaning after I saw how well this vacuum picks up! Buy it you won’t regret it!

I have a stick Dyson and by no means am I saying that vacuum isn’t amazing because it is but my husband spent a hell of a lot of time on Saturday raking the carpet with a pet hair remover, then using the Dyson. The Bissell got here Sunday. I spent a few minutes putting the thing together today and wanted to take it for a test drive. A full pass on the vacuum later and this is the picture of the second pass. It did have a slight burning smell when I turned it on but now the room smells cleaner and I have no idea where all that hair came from since my carpets looked cleans…

Get it!!
I spent hours researching which vacuum to purchase and I ended up with this one. So glad I did! I have long hair and a short haired dog, and the amount of hair this picked up (without getting tangled in the roller) is amazing. I have a mixture of hardwood floors, rugs, tile floors, and carpet. I used this on all surfaces. I sweep pretty often and have and off brand roomba. I keep my house clean, but this thing still picked up 6 full canisters of dust/hair/dirt in my 1800 sq ft house. I was impressed! It is also light and the swivel makes it easy to maneuver. If you’re still researching vacuums, look no further! Just get this one!

Breakfast after less than a year
I purchased one of these that broke in a week, assuming that was a fluke I returned it and purchased another. Now 9 months later I’m in the same situation. I contacted Bissel but they claim that belts aren’t under warranty, yet will make a one time exception.

Works great for dog hair
We got this to replace a 16 year old Dyson that I thought was doing fine until we got a very fuzzy and long-haired border collie mix who sheds a ton. We’d have to go over the carpet with a rubber bristled broom/brush to get the fur up before vacuuming, because it just wasn’t touching it otherwise, plus the amount of hair (from the dog and me) that got stuck on the brush meant that I was constantly having to clean that too. We got this one and I put it together, then ran the old vacuum over the carpet one more time, before trying the new one. Even though the carpet looked fairly clean, it sucked up SO MUCH STUFF. I was impressed, and grossed out. I dumped it and vacuumed again, same thing. Even when I could no longer see dog hair on the carpet at all, it was still sucking some up. This vacuum doesn’t feel as substantial or as sturdy as the old Dyson (which was at least 3x the price, maybe 4x, so that’s to be expected.), but I have zero complaints. It works 100x better. I thought I was going to have to spend a ton to get a vacuum that would work well with our dog, who sheds like crazy, so I’m thrilled that this relatively inexpensive one works so well.

Great Vacuum for Pet Owners!
My household includes two dogs that shed like crazy, one cat, and three women who also shed. Our previous vacuum was very old when we got it and also not in that great of condition. Switching to this has been a breath of fresh air. Personally, I don’t think it’s too loud or too heavy. I’m afab and not particularly strong and it is easy for me to carry, but I have no physical disabilities. As for the noise, I have sensory issues particularly with noise and this doesn’t bother me at all. It’s quieter than our old one (again, the old one was old and in bad shape) and works a thousand times better. Our living room carpet was a different color due to the dirt, dust, and pet hair. It didn’t take me long at all to clean it. Our carpet is finally the right color now!

Hand-held turbo tool breaks
This vacuum sucks up much more dirt and pet hair than its predecessor (a Dyson). However the little turbo hand tool only lasts a few months, then its thin belt stretches and it ceases to function. The belt is not sold separately, so you have to buy a whole new hand tool. (I’ve been through 2 of them and refuse to replace it again.) I’d much rather have a plain non-rotating head for hand use that doesn’t break. If the hand tool weren’t a problem I’d easily give this vacuum a 5 star review.

Doing perfectly with my long haired rough collie!
I have had this a while now. Got it to replace my old Dyson that just wasn’t pucking up my rough collie’s fur very well any more. This new vac is getting what the dyson didn’t and more besides plus it is much more versatile and maneuverable and whole lot lighter! To top it off the main beater bar has not gotten a single hair caught up in it!

We bought based on another family member’s review. This is a great vacuum. It’s embarrassing how much this sucked up. Great customer service thru Bissell, too. We should have put it together right away (our bad). It came with a package for the 2 screws to put hold the handle on, but no screws. Bissell customer service was extremely helpful…they get 5 stars.

Junk!!!
Worked great for two weeks! The belt broke, so I replaced the belt (yes, I ordered the correct one) not once, but twice! It’s spinning so fast that it burns through the belts!! What a waste of money!

IT SUCKS! IN a GOOD WAY
I’m stunned and shocked just how much this picks up. I have a dog and a cat and they both shed a lot. I knew my Old Faithful vacuum wasn’t working as it should. I had no idea though , got this out of the box easy install and went to town. Dumped the hair out twice I have approximately a 1400 square-foot house I am in awe just how well this works and under $200 what a difference !!! Design flaw
I love the power of the vacuum. It has more suction power than any of the other more expensive vacuums I’ve had. But there is a fatal design flaw. Hair accumulates on and around the belt. When this happens, the vacuum belt begins to burn and smells and the vacuum will stop working. I will have to stop, remove all 7 screws and clean out the belt area. I can vacuum about 5 carpeted rooms before this occurs. I have two dogs that shed, but I’ve never experienced this with any other vacuum I’ve owned.

Clean it out with your hands
It picks up the fur great, for sure, which is why I’ll give it two stars. The fur doesn’t come out of it easily at all, the only way to get it out of the top part is to reach in and pull on the fur a bit at a time. The bottom of the collection area opens and everything falls out the bottom except the fur, the very thing I bought this vacuum for, I need to find something to stick up there and pull it into a trash bag with. I used to vacuum with a shop vac, picks up all the fur and no need to pull the fur out of it with my hands, so I’m not sure why I bought this special pet fur vacuum.

The rubber belt powering the rotating carpet brush snapped IMMEDIATELY after using the vacuum out of the box. Amazon and the manufacturer have both been unresponsive about a refund or replacement. Buyer beware.

This is the BEST! I needed a new vacuum, did some research and found this – LOTS of great reviews, and sure enough I am now leaving a great review. When it arrived, I tried it out on my two 5×8 what I thought were already clean area rugs and this much was sucked up!!! Easy to store!

The belt breaks.
The suction is good BUT if you run over a carpet snag or string it will suck that up and jam the roller. I’ve replaced 3 shredded belts in the last 6 months because there is no reset button. The roller seizes and that’s it. I won’t buy another one.
