Just what I needed for some HVAC issues I was having on my Toyota Sequoia!
I’ve had a cheap $20 OBD2 scanner for years, and it worked great for showing me check engine codes. So, I couldn’t figure out why people would pay hundreds or even thousands for a scanner. Apparently, I’m an idiot as I never realized there were MANY more codes beyond just check engine codes! I’ve been having an issue with my AC/Heat not turning on when I start my Toyota Sequoia. After about 30-40 seconds it will finally turn on, and the settings like temperature are set back to default. Also, I would get great AC throughout the car, but the front/driver side of the car would just blow regular air. After buying the BlueDriver scanner, I ran a full diagnostic, and it came up with 3 different HVAC codes and let me know my damper servo was failing on the driver side. I ordered the part and should have it replaced in the next couple of days. It will run me about $150 for the part, and then my time putting it in. If I had taken it to a dealer, it would have run me almost $1000 for the repair, according to others that have had the same issue. So right from the start this scanner has already paid for itself! Great buy and I recommend it to others!

Let’s face it – modern cars are electronic. There is no way you can know what is going on without an OBD2 reader. This one is great: works with any model car; works on multiple cars; uses and app which you download to your phone; is easy to use; complies reports that you can print; diagnoses potential fixes; even provides lists links to Amazon for the exact parts required if you choose to fix yourself. You can also choose to delete the dashboard error lights and codes after you fix the problem or leave them in place for a mechanic to use.

I made one mistake about this item. I downloaded the wrong app & I had issues connecting/setting up the device. However, I called BlueDriver & the rep said that with an andriod phone it did not support the device as it needed to be higher than 5.0. (I had 5.1 on my samsung) Once I got the right app, the bluetooth connection was fast & quick. However, the device did NOT show any error codes. I bought this device b/c my gas milage has been declining. I have a 2010 Ford 5.4 with 85K miles. The rep wants me to download a pre 5.0 app for my truck but I will inform them that will not be necessary. As for the device, I guess it is working but i will update later.

Works on 2007 Chevy Suburban
It was easy installation. Downloaded app and connected module under dash. No registration required. About 30 seconds later phone screen show make, model and seral number without adding anything manually. Scanner found problem in catalytic converter and that is something I will get done later so I did choose to clear error code and got rid of Check Engine light. Very good tool and I’ll make appointment to mechanic later since I know this is not a urgent issue.

Pulls more codes than others I’ve used
It was able to tell me exactly what ABS sensor was causing me problems. Unlike the previous code reader I was using, this was able to pull ABS codes on my 2012 Wrangler. The ability to easily update the firmware is also a feature bluedriver has that others don’t. The app is easy to use, and the code list is nicly categorized. Worth the price in my opinion, just for the ability to update alone.

I have had quite a few scanners and got sick of their upsells and subscription fees. This thing does a lot. Unless you’re a pro you wont even know what a 1/4 of the live readings mean. It’s small, it has a bright blue light that lets you know its on and working, it blinks when it pairs to your phone. I Had zero problems using an iPhone. And I never lost connection. Little things it does too, it new my vin, my speed but can do so much more than that. . Any car I get idc what year, this is going in and I am running a bunch of tests.

does not do SRS for 2008 chevy silverado 1500
bought to resolve 3 issues. ABS light – found code that pointed to front passenger wheel senser. I replaced $5 connector. problem fixed. airbag service light and tire pressure light – turns out SRS and TPMS are not supported by this reader. I was so psyched when I fixed ABS. Then disappointed I could not get codes for SRS and TPMS for my vehicle. Should have bought a different scanner.

will not pair to Android phone
This will not pair with a brand new samsung phone. The phone was literally 20 mins old when I installed the bluedriver app, and tried to pair. app will not find it, if I look in native bluetooth on the phone, it sees the device, but won’t pair with error “this device requres an app”. It does pair to my wife’s ipad, I can’t take her ipad around with me when helping friends, and I’m NOT buying an ipad or iphone. For $100, it should work as advertisedon android and apple.
