For years I have always purchased my vacuum’s based on “price”. For some reason I felt the more expensive vacuum was better quality I I WAS ABSOLUTELY WRONG !!!! – – It took this purchase of the Bissell® CleanView Swivel Vacuum to proved to me price means NOTHING. It is expertly designed – very easy to use – to empty – to clear the hose of blocks. All the parts click into place perfectly. The suction is unbelievably strong and the hose is nice and long so I can reach up to the ceiling with no problems. I THINK BISSELL DESERVES A THUMBS UP FOR THIS ONE !!!!!
I bought this in September 2024, and the drive belt broke in January 2025. Drive belts and filters are not covered under warranty. Given that these are prone to break, you would think the design would facilitate replacement – but no. Rather than a simple system without screws, you have to remove 7 screws to get to the brush area. In my case, dog hair had built up underneath the belt cover and eventually broke the drive belt. In the picture, the lime green plastic cover on the left is where the belt is. Note that you would have to remove the cover screws to clean the brush or even to simply check for dog hair build up. I bet the screws aren’t under warranty either, since stripping them is all too likely. Otherwise, I love how good a job this does pulling up Golden Retriever fur off the carpet. It is a shame none of the product designers considered whether it is simple to maintain.

I can’t really complain about this vacuum. It picks up my dog’s hair and a ton of dust I didn’t even know was hiding in my carpets. In hindsight, I do wish I had gotten the liftoff model so I could easily use it to clean my car seats, but this vacuum is great nonetheless.

A few deficits
There are things about this vacuum I like…the weight (my Shark is ridiculously heavy) and the powerful suction with five dogs. The main deficits for me are…no light on the front, not enough attachments for someone who’s 5’2″ to reach high places and the height of the vacuum in the flooring is basically the height. I initially thought I would buy it again if needed when my Shark dies at our vacation home but I think the honeymoon is over and I’ll look for something else that has the features I miss!

High maintenance product with roller failures
The vacuum is NOT pet friendly (two dogs, vacuum once a week). I’m having to take the roller cover off to clean the belt channel after every run of a medium height carpet. I’ve replaced four belts and two rollers (ordered a third roller today because the second failed after 5 runs) in just over three months of use!

Smells as if burning and stops working in a month.
After reading many reviews I decided to buy this vacuum. It had great Suction and picked up the pet hair great I even ordered one for my son. Within a month his smelt as if it was burning and when he looked at the belt it was melted. Mine also started to smell. I contacted Amazon and they replaced them both. We are going through the same issues with the replacements. Amazon has reimbursed me for my replacement and I’m going to call regarding my son’s. There is definitely some sort of defect with this model. So far 3 have had burning issue’s. Amazon has been wonderful at taking care of the situation so they get 5 stars !!!

Perfect for Heavy Shedding Dogs
I have a Siberian Husky/Great Pyrenees and a Lab/Belgian Malinois so my home is covered in dog hair. I have a rumba that goes around once a day that’s hanging on by a thread and Christmas Eve my vacuum finally surcumed to the dog hair. I bought this vacuum and not only did it pick up all the dog hair it also sucked all the dirt and sand out of the carpet. The suction is unbelievable and it is super lightweight. I let my dogs on the sofa and it collects the dog hair like a dream. Plus it’s not expensive, I love this vacuum.

Doesn’t “suck”
This vacuum is a joke. You have to take it apart and unclog the hose Every. Single. Time. You vacuum. I’m extremely disappointed. I recommend skipping over this vacuum and spend the money on something reliable.

Not for homes with Alaskan Malamutes
After two uses, the belt broke and started to burn on my third run. I had cleaned it after every use as well because I know how much hair my dog produces. But still the brush spinner at the front got stuck with the hair causing the belt to catch and snap. Full disclaimer, I have the hairiest of hairy dogs. He’s a 90lb Alaskan Malamute so the amount of hair is insane. I think this vacuum would work with normal pet fur/hair but it’s not for the fluffy shedding dogs. Sadly I spent a lot of time researching good pet vacuums and settled on this one so I’m disappointed. Going to buy a new belt and hope it hangs on.

So far I love it
So far I really love this vacuum. It is very maneuverable and easy to use. I do wish either the hose of the extension tools were longer. I actually measured them against my old Bissell and they are inches shorter. It makes it hard to get to the back wall between the fridge and stove, for example. However, it seems to have incredible suction. I’m impressed with how much it pulled from my regularly vacuumed carpet. My last Bissell lasted ten years, so I have high hopes for the longevity of this one.

Really good but not perfect!
Comparing this vacuum to my outgoing Hoover one there are things I want to mention. Pros: • Great suction power. Impressed with how well it does with both carpet AND hardwood floor.. not to mention rugs. • Great maneuverability when cleaning. • Easy release and cleaning functionality as well as the nice cord retrieval pedal which has become common these days. • It is not as noisy as some other vacuum cleaners • INCREDIBLY long cord. I have no idea how long it is, because for every use I had, I always had more than enough without even having to unplug and plug back into a new outlet. Very impressive. Cons: • I DO wish the on/off button was not a pedal; I wish it was on the handle like my outgoing cleaner. Would just be more convenient to not have to look for or possibly miss putting my foot in the correct area. • The hose attachments are a little cumbersome to detach and use and i can’t ever quite seem to fully connect the end of the hose with the base.

Powerful
My vacuum was about 4 years old and recently I noticed it was not picking up the smallest amounts of lint/dust. Last week it began to smoke and the engine burnt out. I had just finished vacuuming all my rugs when it broke down. I ordered the Bissell and really was not sure what to expect. A Total Disappointment
The media could not be loaded. The vacuum cleaner works well for few days and after that showing trouble. Now it doesn’t suck properly, have to run few times to suck even small pieces of paper. The sucking power is too weak to clean our carpet’s dust and small particles. I am totally disappointed with the product and never buy from this shop. It was a waste of money and effort. Tried their technical support which is a bummer. Never able to connect with the support team and technical feedback. I don’t recommend it.

Just as great as my old Hoover
My Hoover wind tunnel that I’ve had for 15 years recently died. This was the 3rd vacuum that I have ordered from Amazon. The first 2 were very disappointing in the way they picked up pet hair. HOLY SUCTION!!!!!
Okay. I am always a little skeptical of vaccum reviews and usually disappointed with the suction power. NOT THIS TIME. I have 4 pets and can’t stand seeing hair on the carpets. I literally vacuumed with my old cordless vaccum yesterday and this is what I pulled up today with the Bissell. It’s so satisfying, that I just wanted to vaccuum and vacuum. I’m so excited that I don’t have to go over the same rugs 5 times to get pet hair up. This thing SHAKES the rugs, it’s so powerful. I think that’s how it gets so much dirt off the rugs. The rugs looked brighter and newer! I can’t recommend enough. You don’t even care about the cord—I promise you won’t miss your cordless dinky vaccuum after using this puppy! Even my husband was like WHOA when he tried it. I was going to keep my cordless for small little messes but I’m getting rid of it completely. This thing is so awesome!

Performance plummeted and burning smell after 7 months
Bought this in March 2024 – it is currently December 2024, and I’ve given up and am looking for a new vacuum. Vacuum is used about 1 time a week on high-pile carpet with 3 cats who shed a normal amount – small house which is mostly carpet. In October the vacuum started having poorer performance, and since then it has only gotten worse and now has a burning smell and won’t spin the brush. We’ve tried cutting the hair off the brush, but it didn’t help. Pretty sure the brush motor burnt out on us. I have never in my life had a vacuum go down so quickly, and I don’t buy expensive vacuums, so this was exceptionally disappointing. My previous vacuum, the “Bissell Pet Hair Eraser Turbo Plus Lightweight Upright Vacuum Cleaner, 24613”, lasted me over 3 years before it started doing the same thing. Extremely disappointed and frustrated that I have to look for a new vacuum less than a year later.

A bit disappointing
I was happy to order this due to the reviews, however I am disappointed in the product. Yes, it vacuums very well. It is extremely heavy and the pieces are made from very cheap plastic. It is also quite loud. If you need to lift it over the cord, or the lintel from one room to another, it is very awkward. It would also be nice if companies that still make corded vacuums would make the cord long enough to go from one room to another without having to stop and unplug and replug. Again, it vacuums very well, but I think it could have been manufactured better with more thought.

Best upright vacuum
I read many reviews of this product before purchasing it and I am so glad I did. I have a cat and vacuum every two days to keep my place clean. This vacuum sure does pick up all cat hair and dust from litter. It is easily maneuver around furniture and clean path width is wide and much quitter when vacuuming. Fantastic purchase!

Cheap
The vacuum is so cheap. Had it for 10 months and the assembly to raise and lower the brushes broke. Causing the brushes to be on the ground so when vacuuming the carpet they couldn’t spin causing the belt, which can not be replaced to burn up. Also the hose is to short, so when using attachments the whole sweeper falls over. Also the power cord is short. This was my first Bissell I have ever owned and it will be my last! So disappointed!!!

STOPPED WORKING
Bought this in August and I really loved it. In November it totally stopped working. The motor start to smell like it was smoking. I tried all of the troubleshoot advice. Amazon wouldn’t return it. Paid $114 to use the vacuum for 4 months. Never again, love my new Dyson!

Just ok for the price.
For the price of this vacuum, I suppose it’s OK. I’ve had this vacuum for 2 years now and although it does an ok job (I have a German Shepherd and have to vacuum 3 to 5 times a week) I constantly have to take the bottom apart and clean out all of the pet hair that gets wrapped around and stuck in the drive belt. If I don’t clean out all of the hair, it jams the belt and it smells like it’s burning. I’ve had the bottom apart soo many times that the screw holes have stripped out. They thread into plastic so, you can only have it apart so many times before they strip out and fail. I was hoping it would last longer since it is marketed towards pet owners. (Maybe it’s not great for long hair pets?) I’m going to order a Shark and hopefully I can vacuum in peace. LOL.

This vacuum truly made me realize how gross my house has been. I previously had a shark pet vacuum, one of the super skinny/small ones. I felt it wasn’t cleaning as effectively as it could be, so I bought this one. I vacuumed my whole house (high pile carpets) with the shark. Then I went through with this Bissell vacuum immediately after. The picture attached is what came out of that. All of this after I already vacuumed with the Shark… yikes. This vacuum works great, is super lightweight and easy to haul up and down the stairs. It’s pretty compact compared to some other traditional/full size vacuums, which makes it easy to store. I appreciate that it has foot pedals to turn to it on and unlock. The only “complaint” I have (and it is SO minor) is the location of the dial to adjust the vacuum height (bare floors, carpet, high pile) being so low to the ground. Would be much easier to transition between settings if there was an adjustment near the handle. That being said, I honestly barely adjust it and just keep it on setting 2 and it works transitioning between carpet, rugs, and tile

fantastic Bissell 2254 Swivel Pet Bagless Vacuum
This vacuum has great suction power. It does pick up dog hair off of my sheets but not as well as they show on video. I give this 5 stars, because it does do a fantastic job taking care of most of the pet hair my pup leaves behind. She is a doberman/ husky mix with short hair and sheds an extreme amount of hair everywhere. It is awful but this vacuum works very well to cut down the problem. I would recommend this product to people who want a vacuum that works very well without having to pay a huge price for a great job.

No support for the issue
No screws to attach handle or manual. I am unable to test it without handle after watching videos now im scared to start it. With burning being a common problem and i cant smell. Bissell has many pet vacuums why not take the best features from all of them and make one solid machine

Do not buy!
The media could not be loaded. It does work well as a regular vacuum but when you use the hose- #1 the hose is to short, vacuum tips over and has hit me in the head almost every time I use the hose. #2 look at video, all the dust comes out because the bottom roller is still rolling and sucking?? Do not think it was tested and can not believe all the good reviews?? I just ordered a Shark Stratos and when I receive it this piece of junk is going in the trash.
