For years I have always purchased my vacuum’s based on “price”. For some reason I felt the more expensive vacuum was better quality I I WAS ABSOLUTELY WRONG !!!! – – It took this purchase of the Bissell® CleanView Swivel Vacuum to proved to me price means NOTHING. It is expertly designed – very easy to use – to empty – to clear the hose of blocks. All the parts click into place perfectly. The suction is unbelievably strong and the hose is nice and long so I can reach up to the ceiling with no problems. I THINK BISSELL DESERVES A THUMBS UP FOR THIS ONE !!!!!
I bought this in September 2024, and the drive belt broke in January 2025. Drive belts and filters are not covered under warranty. Given that these are prone to break, you would think the design would facilitate replacement – but no. Rather than a simple system without screws, you have to remove 7 screws to get to the brush area. In my case, dog hair had built up underneath the belt cover and eventually broke the drive belt. In the picture, the lime green plastic cover on the left is where the belt is. Note that you would have to remove the cover screws to clean the brush or even to simply check for dog hair build up. I bet the screws aren’t under warranty either, since stripping them is all too likely. Otherwise, I love how good a job this does pulling up Golden Retriever fur off the carpet. It is a shame none of the product designers considered whether it is simple to maintain.

I don’t usually write reviews, but I always read them before buying a product. When I read the reviews on this vacuum it seemed too good to be true. We had been using a cordless vacuum for our 2-dog household and it just wasn’t doing the trick. I needed something budget-friendly that could get up the crazy amounts of fur my dogs shed. Y’all. This is just from our AREA RUG. I went and did our carpeted upstairs afterward and had to empty the LARGE canister 3 times. The pet tool eraser did some crazy (good) things to my stairs. I’m in love I’m in love and I don’t care who knows it!!!

Good suction
I really like the suction. I like how it swivels and it’s light weight and quieter than I’m used to. The width is more than I expected and the power cord is shorter than I like. The one thing I really don’t like is the cord extender for the attachments. My last vacuum had an extension built in so I didn’t have to add one every single time I need a little extra length this one doesn’t have that so that makes it a bit more time consuming for me.

Can’t handle long human hair AT ALL
There are three shedders in my household, a cat with normal length fur and two long-haired humans. This vacuum can’t even clean my 900 square foot apartment without getting so clogged by human hair I have to cut it out with scissors. That’s not to say there’s that much hair… this vacuum is simply that weak. I’ve had this vacuum four years, and have probably used it less than 20 times because it is such a grotesque hassle. It doesn’t even work very well once it’s clean. Never buying Bissell again. What a waste.

Awful after less than a year
The media could not be loaded. We had a Dyson for 10 years and replaced several parts to keep it running. Even with repairs it didn’t have as good suction as when we first got it so I figured it was time for a new vacuum and didn’t want to spend another $500 for such a boring (though vital) appliance. The reviews for this vacuum were good so I thought I’d take a chance on something much more economical. That was a mistake. We have two long hair dogs so I try to vacuum every day (or at least every other day). The suction wasn’t bad at first. Sometimes it would take a few passes over rid to get all the dog hair, and it did smell a little fume-y/burning when we first got it, but it seemed to work. After a few months (maybe 5?) it started making this awful noise. It still runs, the brush still turns, it still picks up most of the hair, but it is so loud I had to stop using it. It is deafening (yes, even with assisting the roller height to accommodate the flooring height) . Some additional minor complaints that I could overlook if it wasn’t so ear piercing is the cord is too short (the Dyson was a few feet longer so I could do my whole main living area without having to keep moving the plug, which is more annoying that I anticipated), the plug kept coming out of the outlet with even the slightest tug, and the button to empty it is at the bottom so you have to be careful not to get dust and dirt and hair all over you when emptying the bin (the button is on the top of the Dyson). I don’t recommend this vacuum. Less than a year and I’m already off to research buying a new one.

Bissell has become a staple name in our home, besides our Bissell Crosswave hydro steam (which is also an absolute dream) we have the Bissell Clean View Swivel Vacuum, and it does a wonderful job of vacuuming our carpets and hard surface flooring. Broke within 3 months
I was so disappointed because I have always wanted this vacuum and I finally splurged and got it just for it to break. I regularly cleaned it, and when it stopped working I took it apart and could not figure out what was happening at all. I replaced the band, that didn’t work. This vacuum worked well for about 1 year. I was not a fan of where the cord was placed. I loved the retractable cord, but I think ultimately that’s what ruined it. There were too many places where the wires were exposed on the cord and it would get too hot. Not really safe to use anymore.

Good Vacuum, Needs Pedal Modification
Beginning with what is the least attractive to determine if this is for you: This vacuum’s on-off pedal is designed for a size 12 foot. For reference: I am a 5’4” female with a size 7.5 shoe. From heal to toe, I can barely reach the start pedal. In fact, I have to raise my right leg to reach it. 😅 If you’ve got kids at home (with small feet), they may need help reaching that pedal. 🧹How in the world can persons who are college degreed design-engineers, not apply daily functionality, physical agility of most, and ease of use into consideration. It is baffling to me, that with all the 3D modeling, technology, information and research available; vacuums are more primitive today, than were the 1950’s models of my parents. Truly “revolutionary” models would ideally have an on-off switch at the top for accessibility. If that’s not possible, lower the on-off foot pedal. It is ridiculously high. Lastly, if noise bothers you, this vacuum will numb your senses: it’s loud. As in, LOUD. If you’ve read this far, and foot pedal size doesn’t matter, the vacuum does an excellent job of picking up German Shepherd hair. They literally shed a small dog’s body size of hair, daily. The canister is large, and suction is sufficient. NOTE: Vacuum does not seem to keep suction on carpet areas with high traffic areas. Visually, my carpeting looks even. Didn’t notice til using this machine, it sort of glides over high traffic use on carpet. You’ll need another vacuum for very plush bathroom rugs. Suction is too strong, even with adjustments and attachments. Then again, none of my vacuums in a variety of price ranges, work well on certain throw rugs. Pros and cons to everything. Really just comes down to preference and price. Everything manufactured today is not built for longevity.

Mostly because the flexible tubing the attachments fit onto is advertised as quite long and even shows a person vacuuming high up along window frame. Well, it does stretch without ease. At first I figured that it was stiff because it is new and thought with time that would ease up. Now, I don’t think that’s going to happen. The problem stems from the wonderful suction that is great for vacuuming floors or carpets. It causes the tubing to suck itself back into closed position once an attachment is added and put to use. So, If I hold the vacuum with my foot and stretch the hose out and hold it with one hand in the middle of the hose and the other at the attachment end, I can keep the hose extended. Otherwise, the suction pulls the hose and attachment back to the approx. 2′ closed hose length. Not much good for vacuuming anything above the floor such as furniture, stairs and woodwork higher than a couple feet from the floor. The good news is that everything else works exactly as described and do the job really well. I love that its quieter than any other machine I’ve had. The cannister is adequate and easy to empty and replace. Going from carpet to tile floors causes no problems. The swivel action is really useful in places that are awkward to reach. I’d have no trouble recommending this machine except for the flexible hose. If you are okay using very few attachments at a close range, you’ll be happy with this machine, too.

Absolutely disgusting
You think your house is clean, then you get a product that shows you different. We have a German Shepherd, which is a shedder, but during this time of year the hair comes off in handfuls. My old vacuums was on its last leg so I purchased this one. It came today. Mind you, I had just vacuumed my bedroom floor earlier today. I thought well, I’ll see how much I missed. OMG, 1 1/2 compartment of hair and dander. She hadn’t even been in my room since I vacuumed earlier. I love the retractable cord and the swivel makes it so much easier to get around corners, and under the bed, or to sweep in all directions. I used the attachment to vacuum off the couch and was pleasantly surprised. It did take several passes, but it made the couch look so much cleaner. I do have an area rug in the living room. I had to turn the suction to the lowest level because it wanted to eat the rug. It worked well on the hardwood floors on low and didn’t scatter very much. Actually I didn’t see it scatter at all. For the money it’s a great vacuum. I’m hoping it lasts.

My only issues is there is never enough room to house the attachments, and the attachment hose is SO stiff!! I understand that it needs to be stretched some with use, and I always stretch a new hose like this when I purchase a new vacuum, but even after I pre-stretched this one the vacuum tipped over onto the floor. It has good suction and the swivel is good. Much wider than my old Shark. I really do like this machine. Just loosen up that darn hose! Lol!

Motor started smoking within 2 months
I bought this vacuum cleaner at the beginning of June, and within 2 months, the motor started smoking and the brush intermittently stops working. It worked fine for the first month, and then it started giving me issues. Unfortunately, the return window has closed, so $165 down the drain. I would not risk buying this machine.

Not worth your money
Bought this vacuum because it was supposed to be good if you have pets. And I indeed have 2 dogs. But the first time using the hand held vacuum attachment just about all the plastic “teeth” came off. The 3rd time using it the belt broke. And you have to order it. Decided I better be safe and order a pack of 3. Glad I did. Just after about the 3rd use again the belt broke again. So in less than 10 uses it is on its 3rd belt, and the hand held vacuum attachment is useless. And neither Amazon nor Bissell will stand behind their product and fix this issue. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY

I replaced a more expensive Shark (which replaced a very expensive Dyson) with this in 2019. It has been the BEST upright vacuum I have owned. It has survived the abuse and misuse of 4 children. On the rare occasion it gets clogged (from being used inappropriately), it is easy to “field strip” and clear the blockage. Good suction. Good durability. Easy to unload. Minimal maintenance.

There is no way to turn off beater bar
I don’t like that there is no way to turn off beater bar. Just bought expensive rug with instructions not to use beater bar. Description of the vacuum doesn’t tell the buyer this. I can’t even use pat attachment to vacuum furniture because beater bar runs (furniture sits on the rug).

It’s a real sucking machine
After using my Filter Queen for 47 years, which I’m not sure it’s been at its best for the last 5 years or more, I contemplated getting another , then it broke, the power nozzle died, a 350-500 $ replacement item. I borrowed my neighbors Bissell, at her prompting. All I can say is WOW!! It either tore my carpet up and all the underlament; sucking up a 1/3 canister full just in my LR, too my surprise and pleasure, fluffing the carpet like I’ve never seen it!! Beautiful !! So, instead of a 1500$ purchase for a new Filter Queen and knowing it would out live me, I went for THIS Bissell!! $120 bucks later!! I am very pleased with its performance, if it last me 3-5 years it’s worth every penny already!!

The BEST Vaccum!!
I recently went on a search for a Vaccum that was good with picking up cat hair (I have 5, love them to death but they shed SO much) on multi surfaces. I love it!! It did an amazing job and actually exceeded my expectations. Coming with so many different attachments and the fact you can adjust the suction of the vacuum for different surfaces!
