For years I have always purchased my vacuum’s based on “price”. For some reason I felt the more expensive vacuum was better quality I I WAS ABSOLUTELY WRONG !!!! – – It took this purchase of the Bissell® CleanView Swivel Vacuum to proved to me price means NOTHING. It is expertly designed – very easy to use – to empty – to clear the hose of blocks. All the parts click into place perfectly. The suction is unbelievably strong and the hose is nice and long so I can reach up to the ceiling with no problems. I THINK BISSELL DESERVES A THUMBS UP FOR THIS ONE !!!!!
I bought this in September 2024, and the drive belt broke in January 2025. Drive belts and filters are not covered under warranty. Given that these are prone to break, you would think the design would facilitate replacement – but no. Rather than a simple system without screws, you have to remove 7 screws to get to the brush area. In my case, dog hair had built up underneath the belt cover and eventually broke the drive belt. In the picture, the lime green plastic cover on the left is where the belt is. Note that you would have to remove the cover screws to clean the brush or even to simply check for dog hair build up. I bet the screws aren’t under warranty either, since stripping them is all too likely. Otherwise, I love how good a job this does pulling up Golden Retriever fur off the carpet. It is a shame none of the product designers considered whether it is simple to maintain.

I received my vacuum today. Opened it up immediately and was excited to clean my area runs. 1st off, it’s simple to put together. Snap handle in place and secure with 2 screws. Once I turned it on, it instantly smelled of burnt plastic or rubber. I used it and it really did pick up so much my old vacuum was unable to even budge. But, it sucks up smaller rugs. Like even on the highest mark (not floor level) it just sucked up my small rugs. Did great on larger rugs, just be cautious with the corners. My main concerns are 1, the smell. It did die down some but it still smelled off. 2, every room I went to I had to look under the unit and clean the trapped hair in the bristles at the bottom. Which seems like it defeats the whole purpose of a vacuum. Yes some hair passed to the tank, but alot also stayed which I had to pull out myself. Again this is my 1st use of the item so I’m gonna come back after a few days of use and post an update if possible. But I’m debating if I should return this thing or give it some time. I’m caught between how much suction it actually has, and the fact it smells burnt and the hair issue on the bottom brush roller.

Haven’t used it 15 times and the belt broke
The brush head is always spinning on this model. There is no way to turn it off for tile or hardwood surfaces. So, maybe that’s why the belt would wear so fast, because we haven’t had this vacuum for a month. I like the low profile, because it gets underneath furniture easier than my old Kenmore. It rolls nice and easy and seems to pick up a ton, WHEN THE BELT IS FUNCTIONAL! You need a Phillips head to tackle the 7 screws underneath, but it pulls right off and there’s the belt and the brush head.

Our 20 yr old Hoover bag-less finally gave out, so this new model is its replacement. So far, the only thing I don’t like about it is the swivel feature…could do without it, but will get used to it. Also, the extension wand could be a bit longer. Other than that, so far, it’s fine—picks up lots of dust that the old model missed. The attachments work well Now, let’s see if this one lasts for 20 years.

This is a horrible vacuum and it does not handle pet hair well. It clogs very quickly and the belt will break within the first few uses. It’s poorly designed and you will be removing 7 screws each time you have to open it up to clear it out or replace the belt. It’s a waste of time and money.

Went from an old dyson that just did not do well at all. This thing was night and day. The amount of hair it picked up compared to my old vaccum was incredible. My house can now feel clean after a thorough vaccuming. The complaints about the cord placement and length are valid, but that is easy to get used to… just hold the cord. Otherwise this is a great vaccum and the attachments work great. Id recommend!

I’ve had this vacuum for about a year now and I’ve only used it a few times because it smells like burnt rubber every time I turn it on. I thought it was just because it was new so I used it a few times thinking it would go away. I wish I would have reviewed sooner but I’m a huge procrastinator. I had really high hopes because I absolutely LOVE my Bissel Crosswave! Your customer service department is AMAZING so I really wanted to stay in the Bissel family when I went looking for a vacuum, but this one was very disappointing!

I do not like being sold an item as a new and it shows up and the belt is already broken on the brush so it never turned. I called the service center for Bissell and they told me to take the six screws off of the back (there are actually seven) and that belt was literally cut, and I could see where it had been used before. They think I can repair that I’m an old woman and I have no way of getting a new belt back on it.

I’ve had the is vacuum for a few months. I knew it wasn’t awesome but it was all I could afford. I’ve had a problem with a musty smell in closet. I put arm and hammer powder on the carpet then vacuumed it up as well as anyone could. I suspected there was still powder in the carpet and bc it was important that all the baking soda come out (the floral smell wasn’t that lovely) I borrowed a friend’s Dyson upright and went over it again. The photo shows what the Dyson picked up. For reference, the closet is about 7’ x 14’. So gross

I bought it 3 years ago still alive and kicking, still sucks like new. we have done tons of construction around our house and have fostered dogs and have had a cat for a while and it sucked all their hair and especially mine. I shed sooo sooo much. The house can get full of sawdust and it sucks it too. this vacuum sucks a lot and has sucked for 3 years and I hope it keeps sucking for many years to come.

Picks up pet hair well
Bought this to combat the shedding of two Labradors. Terrifying how much hair is in the canister after use. I empty the canister after I change rooms to avoid any loss of suction, you don’t have to do that, I just do it for peace of mind. I have used on all surfaces bamboo floors, tile and carpet. Very pleased when I was able to use on my bamboo floors without scratching them. Can’t speak to the same results on other wood flooring types. Have to raise the vacuum brush level when using on smaller area rugs and runners to protect the rug for getting caught in the vacuum. For the large heavy area rugs I use it on the lowest setting, which seems to get the most hair. If the pile on your rug is longer, you should start out at a higher setting and test them each, and then lower the brush until you hit the right setting. The brush and suction are strong and will easily take off any of the pile that is sticking up or is a pull. Stay away from the edge of your area rugs if they have any decorative frills on the edges, otherwise they are gonna get ripped off and it will jam the brush. My favorite attachment is the furniture brush, the rubber brush does a very good job getting pet hair off cushions without damaging anything. The same attachment works very well in my car getting the dog hair off the seats and carpet after trips to the park. I fin the vacuum tough to use on stairs because you have to hold the vacuum in one hand and the hose in the other hand. It’s definitely possible but the vacuum is pretty heavy and awkward for the stairs, in my personal opinion. I pretty much only use this to get pet hair of carpets, furniture and my car. Wish I found this sooner.

Awesome for dog hair removal!
I have a golden retriever and she sheds SO bad! I felt like the shark vacuum I had previously wasn’t picking up the dog hair well, especially from my couch. I didn’t want to spend hundreds of dollars on a vacuum and decided the reviews on this one were pretty good and the price was in my range. I didn’t think it was going to be as great as it is! I vacuumed my couch with my shark vacuum and then used this one right after, and the attached picture shows how much hair the bissel removed. The turboearser pet attachment is AMAZING. So if you’re looking for a solid vacuum, I definitely recommend this one!

I’ve been using a smaller/ cheaper vaccum on my carpet and hard wood and was so surprised at how much dust, dirt, and hair was collected after using this one! It has 5 different modes that you can use for surface level cleaning or deep carpet cleaning. I love the swivel feature makes it so easy to turn corners which reduced stress on my shoulders and arms while vaccuming. I was a little held back when I saw the cost but very happy I spent a little more on this quality vaccum. This vaccum does not Compare to the other ones it’s heavy duty, easy to set up, easy to clean, and it doesn’t spit out pieces like other ones I’ve tried. I also don’t have to re vaccum or go over spots multiple times it sucks all of the debris up in one stroke. Top quality vaccum no more hair on the floor!

Hose attached in the rear, so when you need to use it, it tips the whole unit over. It’s also short, which adds to the issue. I do love the pet attachment. The triangle attachment does not have a spot on the unit. Overall, you can do better for the price.

Lacks suction
I really wanted to love this vacuum. It is designed well and I like how it handles, along with the debris canister. HOwever, the suction on carpets was really lacking. it took me several times to go over debris and hair for it to pick it up, and sometimes it did not pick it up at all. Returning it.

Two cats shedding heavily in this hot weather. Vacuum works wonderfully. Lightweight. Easy to push. I had the more expensive model that comes apart to make a hand vacuum. It was wonderful too but harder to push and maneuver. Hurt my back. Gave it to my daughter. This one does NOT convert to hand vac but is so light I can use on stairs easily. Very pleased with it.

I have had this vacuum for awhile now. It does pretty well. My basic complaint is that it gets clogged with dog hair. So, myPET vacuum gets clogged with my pet’s hair. 😒 Today it was literally shooting dirt out instead of sucking it up. I looked into troubleshooting. It was a clog. The clog was where the hoses join. A very small spot. Is there a tool to remove a clog? That would be a “no.” I ended up using a fork to get most of the dog hair out. I say most, not all. We don’t have long haired dogs.
