For years I have always purchased my vacuum’s based on “price”. For some reason I felt the more expensive vacuum was better quality I I WAS ABSOLUTELY WRONG !!!! – – It took this purchase of the Bissell® CleanView Swivel Vacuum to proved to me price means NOTHING. It is expertly designed – very easy to use – to empty – to clear the hose of blocks. All the parts click into place perfectly. The suction is unbelievably strong and the hose is nice and long so I can reach up to the ceiling with no problems. I THINK BISSELL DESERVES A THUMBS UP FOR THIS ONE !!!!!
I bought this in September 2024, and the drive belt broke in January 2025. Drive belts and filters are not covered under warranty. Given that these are prone to break, you would think the design would facilitate replacement – but no. Rather than a simple system without screws, you have to remove 7 screws to get to the brush area. In my case, dog hair had built up underneath the belt cover and eventually broke the drive belt. In the picture, the lime green plastic cover on the left is where the belt is. Note that you would have to remove the cover screws to clean the brush or even to simply check for dog hair build up. I bet the screws aren’t under warranty either, since stripping them is all too likely. Otherwise, I love how good a job this does pulling up Golden Retriever fur off the carpet. It is a shame none of the product designers considered whether it is simple to maintain.

Smoking out of the box
Well, I really wanted to love this vacuum and I did for the first 10 minutes until it started smoking and smelled of burning plastic on it’s initial use. Didn’t even have it an hour before it broke down. Back into the box and at UPS by the end of the day. Very disappointed! Going to try a Shark instead. Bought to replace an old Dyson. They truly don’t make them like they used to! Hopefully the Shark will not disappoint. Do not recommend. Quality control is lacking here.

Lightweight yet heavy
It’s a lightweight vacuum but it sure feels heavy when actually vacuuming and no I don’t have it on the lowest setting, lol. It’s an arm workout compared to my old Shark. The suction seems decent and I like the swivel although I think it’s awkward to use. It seems to pick up more than my Shark was doing. So I think I’ll keep it. I like the size of the canister. It’s a bit bulky compared to my Shark but I need something that gets that pet hair out of my carpets. The Shark wasn’t doing that without using it 3 times over the same area and after repeatedly emptying the canister.

Good suction but flawed.
Initially this vacuum impressed me but when using the wand and attachments I learned of a flaw. Essentially when the vacuum is in its sitting position the roller keeps spinning. Other vacuums I have used turn the rotor off when using the hand tools and extendable hose. Problems with this are two fold. The least is that over time the bristles will wear out prematurely. The bigger problem is that if anything it catches gets caught up in the rotor even with no suction it can jam it and stop it from spinning. At that point you have about five seconds to turn off the vacuum or release the jam before the belt melts and breaks. I know because this happened to me when it rolled over a rag which I did not notice because I was using the wand. Prepare for filling your house with the acrid smell of burning rubber when this happens. The vacuum is also unstable and falls over if you pull on the hose even just a little bit. Inferior design.

First, let me start by saying I have two dogs and two children. I decided to try this vacuum after seeing it had 72k reviews and is for “pets”. It was purchased on 10/13. Out of the box, it didn’t seem like the highest quality, construction-wise, but the suction was pretty good, definitely better than my last vacuum. We have carpet and hardwood floors and adjust the height accordingly for the surface we are cleaning. By early December, we were burning through belts. I ordered a large pack of replacement belts from Amazon and as of 2/24, am running out of them. Since I am becoming an expert at repairing Bissells, specifically this model, I noticed the enclosed belt area does nothing but collect dog hair, which I’m sure is a fatal flaw with this machine and restricts the belt’s ability to move freely. I reached out to Bissell with my registered product and they refused to rectify the issue, only providing me troubleshooting advice that I already am painfully aware of at this point. This was my first Bissell and will most likely be my last. I just figured I’d share my experience with anyone who has pets and is considering purchasing this model. It wasn’t very expensive so I guess it falls under “you get what you pay for”, for me.

I bought this vacuum because my Oreck upright was getting too heavy for me to push around. What a difference with the Bissell Pet Plus. My rugs are cleaner and no dirt filled bag to haul around with it. Easy assembly and operation. I’m thrilled that I don’t have to buy bags anymore. No filters either just empty the tank and wash out the cyclone and screen occasionally. Perfect. Great product.

I purchased this to replace a Eureka Powerful NEU202. The Eureka (lasted less than two years) was a horrible choice and a vast downgrade from the previous version which I did like. It went together with ease, as most of them do, although you do need to screw in two screws for the handle. The Bissell works well and picks up pet hair great (the Eureka’s dust cup would get clogged every few min..) The suction seems fine and the attachments are adequate. I have not used the pet turbo yet, as I have used those on a few other vacuums, and they all seem to work about the same and have the same failings. No new vacuum seems made to last now a days, as they are all made out of plastic. The cord is not long enough to do a large room, however not many of them are. I do miss the cord rewind and the lights on the Eureka, however most important was finding a vacuum that would actually work for sand (living in Florida that is a must) and pet hair without having to unclog something every five or ten minutes. We have four dogs, three of which have long hair. Of those three, two of them shed a few times a year. The Bissell had no problems with the hair. I thought I would dislike the swivel feature, however I hardly noticed it when vacuuming. So I can not say if that is an improvement or not, at least it is not a negative. I can not speak to it’s durability, as I have only just received it, but I can say so far it is a great improvement over the Eureka, and as of now, I am happy with the purchase. I will update this review in a year or so (or sooner if it develops issues.) Pros: Washable filter Does not have a filter cup that clogs continuously. a Few decent attachments Good suction Picks up pet hair easily Cons: Cord is shorter than one would like. The extension attachment could be longer Plastic everything (But almost all of them are now.)

The suction on the lowest setting is good for my hardwood floors & low pile rugs however the cord comes out of the bottom near the canister which makes it awkward because I keep stepping on it and the cord is extremely short so I have to keep moving to another outlet…have put an extension cord to help with this…overall not very pleased

Just finished my first use and couldn’t believe the pet hair I picked up even though I was vacuuming three times a week with a Dyson Multi Floor vacuum. I also like the upright lock which actually keeps it upright vs the Dyson. Only drawback so far is the cord is not as long as the Dyson.

Very disappointed. I received a vacuum that already has hair and dust in the dust bin (a clump of it), scuffs on the hose attachment, and no assembly instructions. Clearly a used model sold as new. Debating on whether or not to return it. It works, but not nearly as well as other reviews lead me to believe.

Great Vacuum!!
Love the 2252 model! It has the best suction of any vacuum I have had in the past. It picks up pet hair and is easy to navigate. The canister is easy to empty and the attachments are just as easy to use. I chose an electric model over a rechargeable one and am very happy that I did. Would recommend this product to anyone who has pets. We have an indoor dog and cat so we accumulate plenty of pet hair in a short amount of time but our new Bissell helps keeps it in check.

Wow! What a difference
Our old vacuum has slowly been getting less and less good at the one job it has. We got this as a replacement and WOW! The amount of dust and pet hair it picked up in just minutes and how well it got into the rug to loosen everything up amazed both my partner and myself. The rug is so clean it feels like walking on a different carpet than we were before vacuuming. You can see the clean lines where it’s been right away, the suction is strong, and it was also really easy to assemble. The only “complaint” if I can even call it that is that there isn’t a place to store one of the attachments it comes with for corners. But otherwise its a great buy for the price. I’m so ready to finally get all that cat hair and dust that our old vacuum couldn’t manage recently, and to not have to be taking apart a vacuum all the time to see if I can fix it.

This vacuum is amazing! My Great Pyrenees has been sneaking onto the couch and I haven’t been able get her hair out with our shop vac or other upright vacuum. This vacuum saved the day!! I LOVE the beater brush hose attachment, it got ALL the dog and cat hair out of my couch as well as all the toddler dirt. Pet vacuum fail
I bought this vacuum in May 2023 specifically because it was meant for pets. It has been a colossal failure. I have replaced multiple belts on the vacuum. I have also replaced the beater bar on the vacuum. I have two dogs and two cats and I vacuum 1000 ft.² one time a week. The vacuum cannot keep up. It continuously sucks pet hair into the space where the belt is and clogs that entire area. Often causing the belt to stop working properly and to be burnt in two. I have to remove the base of the vacuum to clean out all the hair before it burns up a new belt if I want to have any chance of saving the belt. This requires me to remove seven screws. It is obnoxious. I would not recommend this vacuum. The attached picture is after vacuuming one bedroom.

Best vacuum ever!
I went from the shark rocket pet pro to this and I’m blown away. We have 3 dogs so I try to vacuum every other day. The first time I used this vacuum it looked like I have never vacuumed ever in my life. I was SHOCKED. My carpets never look visibly dirty so I couldn’t believe what it pulled out. I did just get it so I can’t speak on behalf of the longevity, but even if it only lasts a year, I will buy it again. This vacuum makes me feel like I’ve been living in filth up until today. I’m gonna post a before of my dining room rug to see that it’s not visibly dirty and then I’m going to show what I got off that rug. I can’t believe it because this vacuum is so affordable and a lot cheaper than the other vacuum I had.

Great vacuum for price
Bought this brand vacuum to replace my old Shark vacuum. I can’t pick apart this vacuum based on its price. Picks up very well though not as many plus features as the Shark, it wasn’t as expensive either. I was impressed enough to buy another one (same model) for upstairs main floor, and one downstairs as I didn’t want to tote it up and down the stairs.

The media could not be loaded. I was beyond excited for this item based on the reviews. Once it arrived, I assembled it exactly as the instructions stated. I ran it across my rug, and then quickly to a bate wood floor. Within a minute of it running, the entire thing broke out in a massive amount of smoke amd then burst into flames!!!! Luckily I was quick enough to unplug it and run it outside before the fire got worse! Please be very aware that this is a potential riak when buying products online. This could have been much worse and I have already reached out to Amazon for a full refund with a return of this faulty product!

We ordered this vacuum based on the reviews that claimed it had strong suction. Arrived today. The suction is decent enough (not overly strong, but good enough) to suck up dirt from low-pile carpet, but it’s non-existent for the hose. It wouldn’t pick up loose dust bunnies or various other small things we tested. I removed the attachments and put my hand over the open hose to check…felt almost nothing. Per the manual, we examined the hose for cracks, but there are none, and there aren’t any clogs, because it’s a brand new machine. There’s simply barely any suction coming up from the base. Returning this piece of junk immediately.

Efficient vacuum
As the captain of a house with two dogs, and 3 mindless kids and a husband, I wanted something that would get the job done quickly, efficiently, and effectively. Between the outdoor debris, food, “what the heck is that?!”, dog food, treat crumbs, and long teenage hair my vacuums have a short lifespan. After reading all reviews I settled on this version (no retractable cord as I expect it would just break) and I’m glad I did. The power is strong with this one. The design looks clunky, but it’s surprisingly lightweight and easy to maneuver. I took one star off as I absolutely hate the cord design being at the bottom. When doing a passive-agressive vacuum, the last thing I need to worry about is stepping on the dang cord as it ruins my dramatic antics for the family to see. 😂 All that aside, we’ll see if this vacuum can maintain it’s power and lifespan. For now, it gets the job done!

I love the suction power of this vacuum and the ease of using it in its upright position on my floors. The suction is great when using the tools with the hose as well. What is NOT great is that the hose doesn’t stretch, it drags the whole unit with it. When vacuuming the stairs, I have to carry the vacuum unit while using the hose with tools or the vacuum unit falls on me. I need a flexible extension hose to connect to it.

I have no idea why this is rated so high. Since I purchased this, it’s been nothing but work. On the upside, I’m now far more experienced at vacuum repairs than I ever wanted to be…because this thing stops working constantly. And it doesn’t just stop. It starts making horrible noises and smells like burning plastic/rubber. We have a dog, but most vacuums we’ve used in the past didn’t have issues with this. And I don’t even think pet hair is the problem. It’s the poorly made belt and roller. The belt area attracts every piece of hair/dust, collects it, and then causes the belt to snap at least every 2-3 months (with vacuuming less than 1x/week). It overheats, melts, and then breaks. And with BOTH Bissell vacuums I’ve purchased (similar styles), the roller started to melt at the ends and had to be replaced because it stopped turning properly (which, you guessed it, broke the belt yet again). It’s not about poor maintenance – we empty the canister and remove hair from the roller regularly, so it’s not like we aren’t doing our part. But this thing just can’t keep up. After having the same issue with at least 2 different Bissell models, I’m moving on to another brand.

Motor died just after the warranty expired
This was a great vacuum…while it lasted. I don’t use my vacuum often (maybe once a month or less) and try my best to take care of it as suggested by Bissell. I’ve had it for just over 3 years and the motor suddenly stopped working. After calling Bissell, I found out my warranty was for 3 years years, so they can’t send me a replacement and only offered a 20% discount on a new product. The customer service person also told me that this particular vacuum is not one of their best. Good to know….I won’t be buying from Bissell again if their products only last a few years. And, of course, stop working right after the warranty expires. That’s not okay for such a well known and trusted company.

Belt broke after 9 months
I loved my previous Bissell vacuum but it was time to for a new one so I bought this since it was similar to my last one. One thing I missed about my last one was the retractable cord that this one didn’t have. Also the suction on this vacuum wasn’t the best. After vacuuming the living room with one pass I still could see dog hair and I only have one dog… and lastly the belt broke after not even having it for a year. This vacuum really let me down unfortunately.
