Under the Microscope: Evaluating the Product’s Pluses and Minuses
Many users have expressed satisfaction with the Shark robot vacuum’s performance. For instance, Christine Driggers praises its ability to clean in straight row patterns and its self-emptying feature, even with multiple pets at home. The efficient and quiet operation of the vacuum has also been noted by Phil C., who appreciates the self-emptying feature, stating it only needs to be emptied about once a week. Emily Hutton expressed delight at the upgrade from a Roomba, mentioning the Shark robot vacuum’s intelligence, ease of use, better features, and quietness. The ability to set a cleaning schedule and have the vacuum work unsupervised is a benefit that Jonathan Jolly finds valuable, especially with two large dogs at home. The appreciation for the vacuum’s capability to navigate and clean thoroughly without getting stuck is shared by users like Deb C., who also commends the ease of emptying the dustbin. Rob Russo has had a positive experience with the product for four months, particularly highlighting its safety on Persian rugs and fringes.
Furthermore, users like Cpw910 are extremely satisfied with the Shark vacuum’s performance over several months, especially its self-cleaning ability and effectiveness in dealing with pet hair. The user also appreciates the machine’s ability to find its way back to the charging dock. The quietness and cleaning ability on both hard floors and carpets have been commended by Martha Webb. Users like Judy Coffman are pleased with the vacuum’s performance in larger spaces like a church sanctuary, where it has been named “Ed” and performs its job reliably. The amazement at the amount of dust and debris collected by the vacuum is shared by Karenlpe, who recommends the product without hesitation.
Despite these positives, there are several drawbacks noted by customers. Art Vandelay, for example, complains about frequent clogging, with numerous notifications within a short period. Chaynie Nelson and Kat have had issues with the vacuum malfunctioning, citing an inability to work on an even surface and a complete lack of functionality, respectively. Kat, in particular, highlights the frustration with the app’s mapping feature and poor customer support from Shark, including being offered a billable service for a new product. V.A. Land describes the product as loud and inefficient with pet hair, requiring a search for an alternative already. Hannah warns potential buyers that some products may be refurbished without clear disclosure, and A. Moore finds the tank capacity and app features to be suboptimal compared to expectations.
Other users have faced technical issues with the app and connectivity, as noted by William H., who struggled with account verification for setup. Jkerlz criticizes the mapping function and the robot’s tendency to vacuum the same area repeatedly, compounded by unhelpful customer support. C. B. echoes these sentiments, pointing out the glitchy nature of the app. Kindle Customer is disappointed by the vacuum’s limited cleaning area due to programming constraints, and Michael Kiese initially gave a 1-star review due to the product’s inability to connect to the app and the frustrating customer service experience.
Will C feels cheated after purchasing what was supposed to be a new product but turned out to be a refurbished one that ceased functioning, with no satisfactory resolution. Joshua’s experience is particularly negative as he points out that the product delivered was not as advertised, lacking the specific features of the Shark AI ULTRA model.
What do the stars speak of?
Opinions about this product were divided in such a proportion among the buyers.
the machine is wonderful, but delicate. One time the bumper got stuck, and it took ten minutes with a screwdriver to fix it. Otherwise, it’s the hardest working member of the household……
Works great…….. except it is always clogged. On November 10th I have already received 11 clogged notifications this month.

Not worth the money
Works good on hardwood however does poorly on carpet. I have 3 dogs and it could not keep up with the dog hair. I got rid of it after the 3rd time it ran over dog poop and spread it around my floor. It frequently got stuck on thresholds and where rugs came up on hardwood. If you have pets and/or carpet then do not purchase

Won’t return to dock
For the cost, it can’t even return to dock. No mop feature. So manual dumping.

So Far – So Good
I have been using this since December of 2024. Did a lot of research online and found that process to be very confusing, and prices get way out of control real fast. Watch the model numbers – it is almost impossible to find out (even from You Tube) exactly what the vacs in each series do as well as which are the most up to date model. More on that later. I plan on updating this post after I’ve put some miles on it, but so far it is help me keep my yellow labs dog hair picked up off of dark wooden floors. One other note – don’t expect it to be perfect. It can’t get everything you can get to with a regular vacuum. Also, decide what is most important and stick to it! Some of the things I was looking for in this vac was overall good reviews, HEPA filter, bagless, and two brushes. I was not looking for the mop feature at all !!!!!! One other note – I wanted one with two edge brushes and returned the first one I bought because it didn’t have that feature. When I saw that this one did list two brushes, I jumped at it because it had everything else I wanted. The two brushes meant that it came with a replacement brush. I did not return and wished I could have found a reasonably priced one with all of these features.

Great machine
I’m not tech savvy so I was actually kinda scared to send it out on my hardwood floor for the first time. Plus, I have expensive trim in my house so I didn’t want it to damage it. But after setting it up and creating my rooms and no go zones, i absolutely love it. No complaints, been operating for 1 1/2 months. My app on my iPhone 14 does lock up occasionally, and I have to restart my phone, but I think it is an iPhone issue because my husband has a google pixel and his app never locks up. I would definitely recommend.

Worse in every way than the previous version and more expensive
Worse in every way than the previous version and more expensive. The American capitalistic way.. – They got rid of the second rotating brush so it misses more dirt – They got rid of the plastic window on the dock that let you see how much dirt was in the dock so you could know when it should be emptied – They roller seems to collect even more hair and gets stuck more than my other one. – They added an air freshener with a rotating control that will never get used – The motor is louder and makes a flapping sound. – It still gets stuck on small socks – It will still run over poop – The mobile app is slow and laggy I would not recommend

Do NOT waste your money
I wish I could return this robot vacuum and get my money back as it does not perform as it should. I’ve had many robot vacuums over the years and this is by far the worst. The EdgeDetect is a joke and has never worked (I have hardwood floors in my kitchen, dining and bathrooms and it never cleans the corners). I’ve had the vacuum for 4 months now and I’m baffled by how quickly the battery dies. I swear it throws an error/notification code that something is wrong almost daily. This morning it docked itself, but said I needed to dock it to charge and empty. My home is not large; a one story ranch that the unit has mapped and for some reason it seems to “get lost” when the battery is low and can’t find it’s own way to the dock and will die so I am then forced to go search for it and place it on the dock to charge myself. I’m also baffled by how much longer this unit takes to vacuum my home when the older model I had did it in about half the time. I bought the 60 day capacity and in less than 30 days it will say the unit is full and must be emptied, but when I go to empty it, it’s not actually full. I’m so disappointed in this vacuum and do not recommend it at all.

Lacking Performance
Lacking when it comes to performance. Has an extremely difficult time picking up dog fur; cannot completely vacuum all of the house on less than 3 charges; and then takes many hours to charge. If all Shark robot vacuums are like this, I will seek another brand.

worth every dime
This is my second SharkClean. When my first one finally bit the dust, so to speak. I thought I’d save some money and buy a different brand. That’s a $100.00 I’ll never see again. My Shark transitions from floor surface to floor surface effortlessly. She gets behind the couch and under the Hoosier . She picks up cat fur and dog hair then empties herself into the canister. She comes out again all on her own in an hour or so and cleans up again. I programmed her to come out each morning at 10:00, but seriously she’s very quiet, exceptionally efficient, and a back saver. I use my air compressor to make sure she’s good and clean twice a week but you can go some 45 days before the canister has to be emptied; I haven’t tried it with my crew who are Olympic class shedders. I always figured you could have clean house or pets the choice is yours, but with this baby I’ve got both.

Don’t buy if you want a robot to clean more than one level
In terms of capability and technology, this robot seems generations behind. PLEASE do not buy if you have more than one level to be cleaned. This Shark can only save one map. Customer service’s “solution” was that I should buy a second one if I needed cleaning on two floors! In addition, the app is terrible, years behind Shark’s competitors. (I bought this robot because of the favorable experiences I’ve had with Shark uprights. I have returned it.)

Continual Issues
I’m on my third one in less than a year. Within two months the first one had a wheel lock up. Was able to get a replacement under warranty but that one had issues with the wheels popping up like it was always on carpet even on hard. Got a replacement for that one recently and within a week having issues with it sitting on the base correctly and recharging. One good thing is the customer service has been excellent with no issues on replacements but I assume that will end when the warranty runs out.

Suction not great
Pros: the robot is pretty quiet even on the highest suction. Does well avoiding random things left on floor and post explore added power strips Cons: when it empty into the base it’s pretty loud. Like the air blower at the end of a drive thru car wash loud. Base has to be on a hard surface which also doesn’t help with the noise. Last less than 10sec. If you move furniture you have to remap your entire home. Can remap a single room. Sometimes the robot gets curious if I leave the door to my bathroom(not on map) open and knocks things over and bangs around. Suction has 3 levels, but no mention of the amount of suction for each level. Even on spot clean (5×5 spot) when it does matrix cleaning (cleans twice over) it will miss stuff even when it runs over it

Finds dirt you didn’t know was there
I have owned several robot vacuums over the years, and this one surpasses them all. I recently purchased an EcoVacs that was twice as expensive that couldn’t map my house or finish the downstairs (about 800 ft.²) on a single charge, and a Dreame that also could neither map nor finish on one charge. The Shark mapped my house in about 10 minutes, and picked up dirt that both the EcoVacs and Dreame missed. I could not even believe what it found, when it had to return to the dock to empty out the dust bin. I was shocked. It leaves perfect lines and cleans in an efficient and straight pattern, completing the perimeter and then going back-and-forth. It does not miss even 1 inch of flooring. I am dinging it one star because the app doesn’t show you where the vacuum is or how much on the map has been completed. This is something Shark really needs to add. If they did that, this would be the perfect vacuum. Suction power cannot be beat, battery life was still at 30% when it finished the downstairs, and it never gets stuck. I am very happy with the purchase.

Battery dies so fast…
So far this has worked OK. However, it takes an entire flipping day to vacuum my house because it has to go back and recharge itself at least once before it finishes the task. My house is not that big, the space that it is cleaning and set to clean is around 2200 ft.² it would be definitely 100 times less effort and time to just walk around with a giant dry mop and just vacuum my carpeted areas I think I’ll be returning this for the price
Branden Burch –
this vaccum is horrible.
Every single time it leaves the base it stops saying there is some debris blocking it. When nothing is there! Also doesn’t have much suction. If you take a real vacuum over places its already been it picks up tons of extra stuff this vacuum missed.

Awesome little beast!
This is my second one – I wore out the first one and I purchased the same one again because I love it. We have 2 dogs and both are shedders. The robo vac runs daily and does a great job of keeping the hairballs at bay. Even after we clean thoroughly (with a great Shark upright), the little one finds more dog hair. I was inspired to write this review now because he aced another challenge – pine needles! We took down our Christmas decorations and made a bit of a mess repacking everything. But the robo vac cleaned it up without a problem. We love it and definitely recommend it!

Good but could be better
I just bought this unit and set it up. Tested vacuuming the hole house after mapping the home. So far good. After some initial glitches, with docking and missing it seems to be settling. The big issue for me (which might make me return the unit) is the lack of scheduling option of selective rooms on a different schedule. I have labelled about 6-8 rooms/areas and want to be able to schedule some busy areas frequently and other areas on a relaxed schedule. But current App allows only scheduling the whole house which takes much longer and not meeting the requirements.
