I watched a YouTube video that showed you how to program new Key Fobs for a recent model RAM 1500 truck. I purchased this OBD2 Scanner with BlueTooth and it seemed to work great but required you to purchase a License (associated with your Vehicle VIN) in order to program new Key Fobs. I’m pretty sure it was the OBD2 Scanner Software App (loaded on my Android phone) that required the License (not the OBD2 Scanner itself). The Software App that I used (shown in the YouTube video) was OBD JScan but a newer version that what was used for the YouTube video so the programming procedure was different but I eventually figured it out and programmed both new Key Fobs and tested them to make sure they started the RAM 1500 and would Lock/Unlock the doors. So now I don’t have to use my physical Key anymore to get into my truck (original Key Fob would no longer Open Locks). So glad that I had made this purchase and will be using this OBD2 Scanner going forward.

I bought the Vgate iCar Pro 4.0 to use with the Jscan app on my 2015 Jeep Compass. It works perfectly and I haven’t had any problems with it. I have an Autel Diagnostics Tablet and I like using that when I’m home, but I keep the iCar Pro in my glove compartment for when I’m out and about. It’s great to know if one of my dash lights comes on, I can see the problem right away and if need be: turn off the car and get a tow. I recommend people buy one of these and a decent OBD app for their car rather than a cheap scan tool.

Bought it for my 2011 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited and couldn’t get it to work, so it’s just sitting in the box at home. After downloading JScan app I went through all the info to get my Jeep on there and it wouldn’t show me anything other than the year model of my vehicle. I wasted my money on the app and on the iCar Pro because it wants you to buy a license for your Jeep for another $20.99 and I did that and WOW it showed me the make and model of my Jeep, biggest waste of money ever spent and wish to get a refund but know that won’t happen. I’m an ASE Certified Master Tech and only bought it so I could use this at home instead of bringing my Autel home with me out of my toolbox, because I was told this was what “all the Jeep folks use”. If you really want the ability to do what you want to your Jeep or any other vehicle get another scan tool. I even downloaded other apps on my phone that I know work for other Bluetooth dongles and the iCar wouldn’t send a Bluetooth signal from my GMC Sierra either, so needless to say, I’d save your money, get a real scan tool and knowing I won’t be able to get a refund on it, thought I’d try and save others from wasting the money.

I’ve Purchased 3 of These Now
These are fantastic. I’ve now purchased 3 of these over the past couple of years. The first one disappeared when I’d taken my car into the mechanic. The second one I purchased for my son who was having some trouble with his transmission sending an error code. The third I bought to replace the one that disappeared right before going to look at a used car for my daughter. You just plug this into your ODB2 port in your car and download a free app for Android or iPhone. It connects over Bluetooth and you can read all of the sensor readings and error codes in your car. It also uses Bluetooth 4.0 BLE which is a very low-power bluetooth. This along with the fact that it seems to use little to no power while the car is turned off lets you leave it in all the time allowing you to monitor your car consistently or have there ready should you have issues. There are a lot of OBD2 port scanners available but this one has never given me issues and that’s why I keep going back to the same one when I’ve needed additional scanners. I highly recommend.

Stay away from these things.
You’re better off buying a scanner that would get you the code and that you can use to reset it, without having to pay to use the app. It’s a pain.
