Not what I expected
I was told you could use this to change things like your tire size, your light configuration and more. Unfortunately, that is not the case. This is an enhanced OBD 2. It is not bidirectional. You can’t write anything, you can only read. My Zurich zr15s from harbor freight does everything the BlueDriver does and more so I don’t need this. Will be retuning.

Another junk Amazon product. Does absolutely nothing more than a cheap $20 OBD II scanner you can find anywhere. What it adds is a blue led light and an app so customers think they are getting an advanced product but it really doesn’t do much other than read codes. They also advertise that they will suggest fixes for the codes which is 100% false advertisement because it does not do that. Smog check function is another gimmick. All it does it tells you that if you have any codes (which is the whole reason you buy this) it will not pass the smog, it will NOT tell you what your emissions levels are whatsoever.

I bought this based on what I seen online, but not sure why people like it. It is hands down the worst experience I’ve ever had with a product. It did not work at all, I can go on and on but it’s just negative energy. I bought one from Walmart, 1/2 the price and it does EVERYTHING!!!!.

Besides installing the mobile app, this tool is awesome. So easy to plug in and pull up codes relatively quick. Will tell you all kinds of codes on your vehicle and give you possible suggestive fixes. Would recommend this. I have used it on coworkers cars. Delete codes to reset engine light. Produce reports to share. App is intuitive and user friendly.

Looking for a used car. Either privately or on dealer lot. They can delete check engine light while car is on the lot. So, you won’t see the check engine light on. Use this to see what is really going on inside the ECM before buying any used car. Vehicles built after 2010 the check engine light can’t be deleted if it’s a serious issue.

BlueDriver is a very cool device but more impressive is the fact they actually answer the phone real-time while you’re trying to install the device if you have issues. I had a brief issue getting connected on a 2007 H2 but the problems resolved itself after a few attempts, likely due to wiring on the car side. I actually clicked their ‘call support’ while trying to resolve and a tech answered and walked through some troubleshooting. Great Product and great support….

Incluso cuando en auto zone no lo detectaron con esto detecto mas codigos ,una cosas cuando das borrar código= como ve las fotos se arregla la falla pero cuando apagas después vuelve por supuesto hay que remplazar uns pieza pero Incluso ya yo sabía cual parte era por las sintomas y algunos videos y el escaner fue directo al problema el único que no se borra , otra cosa solo pagas una vez en cuanto otros modernos parecidos pero se paga anual este no por eso es mejor hace igual trabajo y ya saben

My device only worked once after I initially purchased it in 2023. I was having trouble with my device on Sunday May 19, 2024, and I immediately contacted customer service from BlueDriver Support. While customer service was not immediately available, they had an auto reply set up with steps to correct most issues. While this didn’t help me, it was something that I could try which I appreciated. On Monday May 20, 2024, I replied to their autoreply letting them know this didn’t help me and they replied a few hours later with additional instructions on what I could try. Again this did not help me but they continued to assist and reply quickly to my messages. On Tuesday May 21, 2024, it had become evident that the device itself may have an issue and they immediately sent me a replacement. This is great customer service. I really hope the device is as good as the service I received. I am truly excited about updating this review.

Easy to use
This is not the equivalent of the 5000 dollar ones pro shops use, but it gives you a lot of information beyond the check engine code number. I did smog checks on both my cars , passed, and were confirmed at repair shop for State inspection. It correctly picked up that my windshield had been replaced. It does not provide data on recalls ( check NHSTA site with your license plate number). Updates come through when hooked up to a car. I use my iPad , as the screen is bigger , but the cell phone works ok as well. Other than the smog check, the big advantage is you can provide more info about a problem to a shop when you arrive there. For a hundred bucks, well worth the money. Note that your vehicle must have been assembled in North America ( with some exceptions) to work. I believe also that Teslas need a different tool. They have an excellent support service so call if you are not sure about your vehicle.

I have a 2017 Kia Sportage, with 90,000 miles on it. Typically a check engine light on prior cars. You always have to take them into the dealership or have your mechanic check. I bought this tool to diagnose the check engine light and the software for this tool helps you troubleshoot specific areas to look at To resolve the check engine light. It literally paid for itself the first time I used it. No downtime, no excessive car dealership charge to troubleshoot the light, etc..

I leave it plugged in all the time and use realtime monitoring a lot. I have a VW Passat and they throw DTC Codes a lot. Often it puts me in limp mode. This thing is pretty sweet. If you find yourself breaking the bank often for repairs, spend $90 on this thing so you can find out it’s your $40 air filter, not your $800 sensor. I like that you can use the app to see the codes and if you need a basic part it’ll show you the parts in the Amazon store. Also cool that you can filter certain fields to monitor your car while driving in real time. Like if your RPM randomly jumps it’ll catch that on the graph and you can save it, maybe take it to someone with knowledge who can assist or on some forum. It’s good stuff, even for beginners.

When my 20+ year old car’s “check engine” light came on I bought one of these, and it confirmed what I suspected without my having to make an emergency trip to the shop. Later when a friend had problems with his old car and didn’t trust his mechanic to give him a straight story, I gave him mine as a present and bought a new one for myself. It showed him exactly what the issues were. If you have an old car it’s a good thing to have. For example it can show you PENDING trouble codes that are not yet at the level of causing the “check engine” light to come on. (In my car’s case, it shows that even though it is quite old there are no obvious problems… so keep on driving it.) If you are in the middle of nowhere when the dashboard light comes on you will know how serious the problem is. How urgently do you need to get it fixed? Good thing to have. Only downside is it refused to pair with my iPad, it would only pair with my phone.
