We replaced a five-year-old shark that is identical to this one. I wouldn’t use this as your main vacuum as the suction is not quite like a corded vacuum. But we use this one for quick cleanups around the birdcage and the occasional spills. Shark discontinued, the headlight on the front of the unit which is said because a greatly helped you locate and ensure that you were getting up any debris on the floor. I bought it aftermarket light but it’s not the same.

Balance is such that it will NOT stand upright on its own in a corner or against a wall. ALL the cheap ones stand upright, this one is so off balance that it requires a wall mount which does not appear to exist (update, if you remove the canister, it can store on top of the carpet beater. A photo would have helped me to discover this much quicker) It also has many stickers that split into pieces when removal is attempted But the main function is to be used as a vaccuum which is MUCH better than the $100 knockoffs. My office has workbenches over carpet which is not ideal in an electronics lab where whires get cut and hardware falls on the floor (think 6-32 screws etc. This does a much better job picking up that kind of stuff than the other discounted vaccuums do (so it gets one star back for an overall 4 star

The brush regular stops spinning and green light turns off when pushing it around my apartment. I then have to pick it up and reset it to get it to spin again. The only nozzle that consistently works well is the short one, useful for cleaning counters and tight spaces. But the typical vacuum setup does not work very well.

Even if I sweep first, it picks up very little and then spits it out when I turn it off. My living room rug is very thin and is washable. As soon as the vacuum hits it the vacuum stops. It’s not even paid for, and I’ve never hated anything more. The reviews made it sound great but sadly it is horrible. I have to work twice as hard for the results and it’s just not worth it in my opinion. Sorry SHARK. Be better.

Worth the money
I bought this because I have several rugs in my house. That I don’t want to have to wash every week. We live in the country with dogs, and this vacuum works fantastic for getting all the dust, dirt and dog hair off my rugs. Very easy to use, stores really nicely. The attachments are very easy to switch on and off. I like the fact that it has 2 settings. One for hard wood/tile floors and one for carpet.

Good vacuum
The only reason this isn’t a five star review is because I expected it to never clog, which is something I’d like to have in any vacuum that has “pet” as its designation. To be fair, I have a German Shedder — er, Shepherd. She can clog any any vacuum on a near daily basis. If you have a small dog or two, this would be great. Especially since it’s on sale for the holidays at the time I’m writing this. The vacuum is light, and that was a primary concern for an old lady with a lot of area to cover. It stays charged longer than any of my previous cordless vacuums. It’s easy to clean when I it clogs up due to overfilling with dog hair. It’s a godsend on the narrow stairways in my old house. I can’t haul a vac up and down stairs anymore. It reaches the drapes. The attachments are great.

I’m in love
How did I live without this? This is better than my Dyson at half the price! It does well on hard floors and carpet. It’s easy to operate and easy to empty. It even works great on sucking up dead bugs! The handheld version is great on stairs. I feel like the battery is good. I can almost vac my whole house (6000 sq ft) before it dies. I love the way it kind of propels itself. Makes cleaning fun! I have recommended to all of my friends. I can’t speak to how long it lasts but hopefully several years.

Shark vacuum
I’ve had this vacuum for just under six months, I find it extremely annoying that it doesn’t lock in an upright position just in case you need to stop for a few minutes, I don’t feel the suction is strong enough even with the power option. This is the second shark I’ve had and I’m very disappointed in this one . If I need to Purchase another vacuum cleaner, again I will try another brand. I won’t buy shark again.

After having this item for a few months now I have to say I haven’t been impressed by any means. I have 2 carpeted bedrooms and a hardwood floor in the main room. When friends come to visit this does not pick up the dog hair on the hardwood as well as grass or any crumbs or what have you to the point where a dust mop has done a much better and faster job. As far as on carpet, this thing does not pick up kitty litter, or get a very deep clean. Does not work well. If I could, I would return as this is not worth the money nor my time.

Junk out the box
All in all I have to say it’s junk. Put it together and set up the charger. Put it on the charger overnight. I. The morning it was still blinking as if it was charging, I tried it anyway, and within 45 seconds of using it, it smells like electrical overheating. Great Vacuum cleaner
I obviously like this Shark vacuum cleaner since this is the 5th I have bought. I use one in my house. I have 2 campers that I have one in both. And gave one to my daughter in law. They are used hard and always keep on going. The only one that has broken was totally my fault. And when I broke it, we were traveling from Texas to Canada. I immediately ordered one from an Amazon and it was delivered to our next camp spot. As you can tell I love it.

Nine years later and still runs like a champ
I was asked by a friend if I had any recommendations for a cordless vacuum and I mentioned my Shark navigator is going strong after several years, then looked at my purchase history. I was shocked to find I’ve actually had this vacuum since Dec 2015 and it still does an outstanding job on carpet and floors!. The only issue was after more than five years it wasn’t holding a charge very long. I purchased a replacement battery, which I surprisingly installed in roughly 5 minutes, and it ran like new again. It’s simple to empty and rinse the canister (just let it dry thoroughly before popping it back in) and filters are readily available. I keep a few extra filters and just wash them out, dry and replace. This vacuum is more maneuverable than my larger corded vacuum and I use the larger vac when I need to use attachments. I find I use this cordless more often cause it’s lighter and quicker to pickup and quickly clean a room and or major traffic areas. If it ever gives out, I won’t hesitate to buy another.

Lightweight and Easy to Maneuver
We love our Shark Navigator Cordless so much we have purchased three of them over the last ten years. It is one of the few cordless vacuum’s out there that doesn’t have the dirt bin in the handle. For those that have the dirt bin up by the handle, it added just enough extra weight to the handle to be uncomfortable for people with arthritis or other problems with their hands. It works great on either floor or carpet, and the bin is very easy to remove and clean out. We have pets that shed and we run this almost every day to pick up pet hair. It does a great job. The only two things we would have a complaint about would be the longevity, as the motor seems to give out after three or fours years of constant usage (hence owning three), and the fact there is no light mounted on the front to see the floor. You would be amazed at how much you can see on the floor with a vacuum light versus just having the room light on. We have tried other cordless vacs and for us this one is hands down the best.

Disappointed
Only used this in my classroom with indoor/outdoor cheap carpet. Stopped working after six months. It didn’t require a super vacuum, but I expected this to last at least a few years. I changed the filter regularly and didn’t vacuum up things that could potentially ruin it like paper clips, etc. Disappointed!

Horrible customer service!
I have not written a review on an Amazon purchase in quite some time, but I feel compelled to warn other purchasers against this product. My husband purchased the vacuum and we had it for a year almost to the day and it just stopped working. We called Shark customer service and did the painful video call and the problem could not be diagnosed. We were told we were 10 days out of warranty so they could not replace the vacuum, but they could offer us 30% off. Understanding that we were out of their warranty we asked if we could purchase replacement parts thinking the battery would be the solution. But no, they had discontinued this model (although they still sell on Amazon) so the parts are not available. I wouldn’t expect this kind of customer service from a company as big as Shark. We have owned Shark products before and never had a problem.

It lasted about a year and a half of almost daily use. The suction is okay but not the best. The real end of the vacuum’s life was when the brush roll stopped spinning regardless of taking all the pieces apart, cleaning out trapped hair and debris and putting it all back together several times.

Stopped Working
At first I really liked it. I bought it back in February. But by September, it just stopped sucking anything. I dont understand why it just stopped working. It won’t spin anymore or suck anything up even though it’s on. Very disappointed.
