Best vacuum I’ve ever had!
This is my third shark vacuum. I am impressed by the suction power of this vacuum. However, it is very difficult to push on my longer carpet. I have adjusted the suction power to the lowest setting and still struggle. It also pushes around object that’s aren’t imbedded into the carpet. It won’t pick up cheerios, Barbie shoes, raisins or items of similar size. Because of that I would not recommend it to anyone with children.

Brush Cover Broke after 2 months
I like this vacuum it is light and works well enough for my purposes. However the brush cover or soleplate broke just after 2 months of use and it is nearly impossible to find a replacement one. The brush now rubbing the broken cover and is making a terrible sound. I finally got a hold of a used one on ebay.

I read where the cord was short, but didn’t think it would matter that much. My old vacuum had a cord 10 ft longer. I definitely miss the hat extra length. Great suction, though.

Heavier than I expected
Not a fan. Took me a bit to figure out the front roller- it’s an all or nothing situ. It’s either adhering to the carpet so you can’t move it or it flies over the surface. So much heavier than I can handle. The cord design is weird. It gets in the way no matter how you try to hold it while navigating it. Not sure who was responsible for that part of the plan, but I’d give it a full fail. The swivel makes that even harder to deal with.

We replaced a similar model, we did not see that this one will not have lights. We found a solution, not elegant but practical, we bouth this light: UTV Dome Light, Muto-Beam Battery Powered Operated Light Universal Roll Bar Mount, and used double side tape to attach it. With that, we have the same capabilities we had with the previous model which was more expensive.

Shark has Awful Customer Service
After a lengthy search we decided on this model upright that was noted to deal with pet hair. Was definitely doing deep cleaning. Big problem is the vacuum head roller is not self cleaning and needed to be cleared of tangled hair after each use. Not ideal is putting it lightly, it’s not manageable. But alas, I didn’t own it long enough to have this drive me insane. During the SECOND USE, one of roller wheels came off due to the pin/axel that held it in place came out and was nowhere to be found. I called Shark to ask for a replacement pin to reattach the roller wheel. They asked me to send a picture of the wheel that feel off….ok, I did. “What did I do to cause this to happen” was the inquiry from the customer service rep. I told them, “nothing, it just came off”. She replied, “We can’t send the pin, and since your vacuum head isn’t covered under the warranty you would need to buy a new vacuum head for $72 plus tax” WHAT??? Does not self propel
I received my Shark Navigator today, and was eager to use it. Worked amazingly on hard surfaces, however on carpet it does not glide. I found myself pushing it, and was a rough ab workout. Totally Bummed.

my older vaccum was at the end of its life so decided to buy this. it has a lot of good reviews. when i first used it the suction power is extremely good. it cleaned up my rooms in a very nicely, I could not be more impressed. I will strongly recommend this vaccum cleaner.

Great vacuum with some exceptions
The unit as a whole is fantastic, especially priced under a hundred dollars. There are 2 things I want to mention about this particular model compared to other Navigator vacuums. First, the dust canister is the smallest in their line of Navigator vacuums by Shark. This requires a relatively frequent canister clean; it isn’t a big deal but for larger living spaces, this will affect the overall use. Second, it’s a little ridiculous that you have to detach the bottom brush unit in order to pull out the suction unit for stairs and portability use. Unfortunately, I haven’t seen a way to circumvent this so you will have to realize that detaching the hose isn’t as simple as ones on Dysons, per se. Overall a good unit for the price, both carpet and vinyl/hardwood.

Be prepared for a workout
This machine has strong suction. It was a bit of a shock when first used, but I know my floors are cleaner. Easy to detach and use as a handheld. The dust bin has chambers which makes cleaning a little harder, but still OK. Smaller head which is easy to maneuver. So far, a good value at $150. We’ll see how long it lasts.

If you’ve ever tried to do research on vacuum cleaners, you know that there is a deep dark world of options out there. Is this a high professional Kirby? No of course not. Does it vacuum up all the crumbs I can physically see? Yep! I wish the accessory hose was a little bit longer, and I hardly take the canister off the base. But it gets the job done and I’m never annoyed with it so that makes it a five star in my book!

Don’t waste your money on this
Don’t waste your money on this Vac. I bought it because it said it was good for dog hair. I have purchased Shark Vac’s before and they have been fine. This vac I used once and it worked good. Then the next time I used it the brush would not work. I did what I usually do and flipped it over to clean it. I cleaned the dog hair out and went to use it and still it would come on and then the brush would stop working. So I did what I normally would and tried to take the bottom plate off so I could clean around the belt. Well here is the bad news. They make the bottom so you cant take it apart. You have a 1 year warranty and they will just send you a replacement and you send the bad one back. After the year it basically is a throw away vac. My review is based on the fact that I am not happy spending $200 on a throw away vac and also having to wait for them to send me the part I need. Usually it is 5 srews and you clean the hair out put it back together and your back in business. The next vac will be a dyson and I will spend the money for the better vac. When I asked customer service to give ma a good reason why I should buy another Shark vac she said she couldn’t. How bad is that.

Cheap quality
Bought this a little over a year ago and just discovered a tear in the suction hose. I’ve never had this happen to any vacuum I’ve ever owned. It has been handled properly. There should be no reason for a tear, especially in just a year. Very expensive low quality vacuum. Extremely dissatisfied.

Disappointed
Ok, this is like the 5th Shark upright vacuum I’ve had and the most disappointing one ever! I will start with it does have good suction! The things I don’t like are A) the cord is shorter so I keep having to plug it in different places. B) the attachment hose is so not flexible. I have a split level house with stairs everywhere! When I try to vacuum them with the hose, it doesn’t give so the vacuum keeps falling on me. C) there’s a short hose that attached me to the bottom part and it keeps coming off! My instinct is to glue it but if I do and there’s a blockage, I won’t be able to clear it out! Since this is my first time using it and Christmas Eve is tomorrow, I plan on returning it and getting a different Shark model upright after Christmas is over!

Not as good as expected
Top rated vac cleaner in the internet, so I bought it. I am an engineer. PROS: – Good suction power, similar to my Dyson DC 07 – Light weight, easy to carry with just one hand CONS: – Cable is short, compared to my Dyson, so I have to plug and unplug a number of times to clean one floor of the house – Cable is hooked at the bottom of the unit, so I have to pick it up with my other hand to avoid running over it. Why doesn’t it connect at the top?! – Clumsy to operate, it doesn’t turn well. – Dirt does not circulate well in the canister, so within 3 or 4 minutes it clogs easily. – Cleaning the unit is difficult, as the stacked dirt needs a little persuasion (pulling and pushing with my fingers!) to leave the canister. Tapping the canister on the trash can is not enough, so I end up taking the canister outside, open both lids, and use the garden blower to get the dirt out…. not ideal! – Detaching parts from the unit is not intuitive, I have to bend down to remove the canister, the wand, etc. In summary, if my Dyson DC 07 is a 10, this Shark Navigator only gets a 5.

Extremely Heavy
I find this vacuum to be very heavy. It works fine on my hardwood floors but difficult to use on carpets. Also heavy when moving from room to room. My back hurts after vacuuming. I have tried adjusting the suction but that hasn’t made a difference. I haven’t had this problem with vacuums I’ve had in the past. I would not recommend unless you are quite strong.

Broke after just 6 weeks

Disappointed
I was so excited to get a shark vacuum and I used it three times every time I had to stop and cut the hair out of the brush because it froze up. Finally the last time the brush wouldn’t even engage. I’m trying to send it back without the box. I hope I’m able to do that. I’m just really disappointed. Let me be fair though. The suction on this thing is great! Too Much Suction – Even on Wall-to-Wall Carpets
I’ve had other Shark vacuums and have always been happy with them. Not this one! The only thing I can use it on is hardwood & tile floors. Even on low-pile wall-to-wall carpet, the suction is so great that you can’t move it. I didn’t realize this until after the return period had expired and now I cannot get support from Amazon or Shark.

Far too strong for my area rugs…
I have large 8×10 area rugs but they are very thin. This vacuum is so powerful it pulls the rug up and will not move. Not even on the “floor” setting. Not even on the lowest suction setting. I unpacked it, put it together and turned it on. I couldn’t push it on my rug and it bunched up the rug on reverse pull I took it apart, packed it up and am returning. Waste of my time but I’m sure it would be great for floors and wall to wall carpets.

4 Pet Household and this thing rocks
I never thought I’d be so excited about getting to vacuum but this has made it one of my favorite household chores. It’s easy to use, can get into corners, and is AMAZING at grabbing pet hair. The suction power is awesome, so much so I often end up having to quickly turn it off before I snatch up something I probably shouldn’t! If you’re looking for a new vacuum, I can’t suggest this one enough. Feels very sturdily made as well, I imagine this vacuum is going to last me a good long while.

I was skeptical about this purchase because I own a Dyson. Needless to say the Dyson just wasn’t getting the job done so after some research I bought this. Holy cow it’s a beast!! After the first use I saw a significant difference in how clean my floors were. The suction on this vacuum is great. It is actually to hard to move when using on thicker carpet. If you are buying to use on thick carpet, I would choose one with a height adjustment.

It does good on carpet…
I just got this vacuum yesterday. It wasn’t complicated to put together – pretty fast assembly but the pet hair powerbrush doesn’t have a place to store it on the vacuum which is aggravating. I vacuumed my bedroom first (carpet) and it did very well. Powerful suction. It’s a little bit on the heavier side when using it but not terrible. It doesn’t come with a long attachment to get in all the edges/corners so it’s a lot of bending over (or kneeling if you have a bad back and can’t tolerate bending over for too long like me). Hair also gets wrapped around the brush. I’m not a fan of the cord placement since it is at the bottom of the vacuum – this means you’re constantly fighting the cord. I took it out to hallway, family room area which is hard wood. I’m not very impressed at all with it on the hardwood. We have 4 dogs and are constantly fighting dog hair tumbleweeds – all this vacuum did was push them around for the most part. So we will still have to broom/swifer sweep THEN vacuum which kind of defeats the purpose of why I decided to spend the money on this “higher quality” vacuum. Overall: I think this vacuum would be great for someone who lives in the city, doesn’t have any pets etc. however for those of us who live out in the country, off dirt roads and have pets In not sure this is the right vacuum. I’ll keep it and see how it does when I sweep/swifer first – then vacuum…. But for the money I paid for it I was expecting more. Overall score 6/10

Ok for the price
Have been using it a few weeks now. Bought it cause we needed something less heavy than our Rainbow for the small jobs. It was also on sale for $99. Does a decent enough job. Where it fails to me is picking up our shepherd’s hair. The roller easily gets binded by dog hair and reduces its cleaning power.

This vacuum has great suction- I love it. BUT, it is not self propelled and I can’t push it across my low piled carpet rug. The suction actually suctions the vacuum to the carpet and you can’t push it. I’m a young pretty healthy 55 year old female who could not push it across my carpet. I’m so disappointed… my last Shark was awesome, self propelled, a high and low level, with super suction, even 7 years later. My classroom has carpet so I took my old one to work a purchase a new one. Now what. 🙁 I would like to send it back but I used it.
