This is my third shark vacuum. I am impressed by the suction power of this vacuum. However, it is very difficult to push on my longer carpet. I have adjusted the suction power to the lowest setting and still struggle. It also pushes around object that’s aren’t imbedded into the carpet. It won’t pick up cheerios, Barbie shoes, raisins or items of similar size. Because of that I would not recommend it to anyone with children.

This thing has such great suction it’s pulling fibers out of my carpet. In fact, the biggest complaint is that I can’t adjust the height, because this vacuum is what Tim “The Toolman” Taylor could not improve on. It has all the power.

My wife has used this vacuum for 4 years on the dot. We had cheap carpet in our old house and two cats. So even with the hair and fibers on the unit it worked like a champ. Just bought one due to Black Friday deal. The new one has a little better suction. But the old unit is still passable. Changed filters about halfway through and I did a pretty thorough clean of it maybe twice. Fantastic unit. Considering buying an extra to keep in box .

Purchased this to replace our Kirby. Wanted something smaller and more lightweight. Kirby’s are supposed to be top of line vacuums and the first time using the shark I was shocked seeing how much it picked up. It worked great was much easier for my son to push. Love the fact that you can take off the canister for those harder to reach areas. Made it much easier to vacuum the stairs. Would definitely recommend this vacuum

I can’t believe how much more dog hair this picks up than my old vacuum. The canister is easy to empty as there is a latch on the top and bottom of the canister. I wish the cord were a little longer, but I love the cleaning power. Back to the dog hair, it’s easy to see on carpet runners that have a log of black in the pattern. With this vacuum, I can SEE how clean this gets.

Small but mighty
This vacuum is amazing. It is not nearly as bulky or as heavy as most vacuums and is easy to maneuver. I wasn’t having to push hard to get it to move around. I can’t imagine how I used an other vacuum before this one. Definitely worth the money, I would purchase again.

I was so excited when I saw all the positive reviews. I’ve bought Rainbows, Dyson, Kirby, – I’m willing to pay for quality. I wanted the convenience of being able to carry around a smaller canister unit. I wanted a HEPA filter and bagless. I have 2 dogs – one is long hair. Seemed like the reviews were perfect. But this thing is a nightmare. The suction is terrible. This thing clogs up in no time. Leaves crumbs, etc. at the edges. The cord entry point is a poor design – the cord gets in the way constantly. Spews dust every time I use it even when emptied after each use. I was so surprised at how awful it was that I convinced myself I just needed to get used to using it. But now I’m just past the return window. My mistake. Run from this vaccuum. I’m going back to Dyson.

Impossible to push due to extreme suction
Ironically, the suction of this vacuum is its worst feature. It’s incredibly hard to push. With the motor off, it rolls smoothly, but as soon as you fire it up, the suction causes the cleaner to adhere firmly to the carpeted floor. Adjusting the suction collar makes almost no difference. Even my 16 year-old athlete son was struggling to get it to move. He walked away from it cursing. The intensity of the suction pulls the cleaner into the carpet strong enough to actually stop the brushroll. The little red protection light comes on, and you have to shut it off and restart it. Once (in the 7 or 8 minutes of operation) it shut off on its own, I assume to protect it from overheating. I’ve never seen anything like it. It could probably be solved if there were a height/pile adjuster, but this one only has one level. I’m wondering if I just got a bad unit; the other reviews for this thing (most importantly, from Consumer Reports) are stellar. My first one got lost in shipping, and this one is inoperable. I’m done with the Shark vacuum.

This is a really efficient vacuum. I use it on bare floors and the suction and maneuverability are excellent. Its not as loud as other vacuuums I’ve used and really easy to use. I love how the canister lifts off easily from the base so you can vacuum higher surfaces. Just a really great vacuum for the price.

I’m not a fan of this vacuum and I own another Shark. Having two dogs, I wanted something that would help with dog hair on hardwood a little easier than my current vacuum. While this vacuum does have the new suction appeal, it’s not my favorite. This vacuum is LOUD. Heaven forbid you use it on carpet, you’ll need ear plugs. The location of the wand release is at the bottom of the hose, making it awkward to release one handed. The cord starts at the bottom, so to avoid running it over, you literally have to hold it in your hand.

Cannot believe how much dirt this little vacuum sucks up! We have six large dogs in the house, and the Shark isn’t fazed at all. It’s also easy to carry and very maneuverable. One criticism is the upholstery brush – it’s at a weird angle and doesn’t work well – but on the plus side it transformed the color of the carpet in the walk-in closet! All other floors in our house are hardwood and it does a great job on those.

Maybe I Got a Lemon
I love Shark vacuums but not this one. It looks nice but doesn’t pick up dirt like my other Shark vacuum especially around baseboards. I believe in the company and their products so I have ordered a different Shark vacuum and hope it works like my other Shark.

Favorite vacuum beats Dyson
I’ve had this vacuum almost a year. It still is my favorite vacuum even over 2 dyson animal ball canister vacuums I still use. This has the most suction power (lifts light runners off the floor which is kind of frustrating but hugely satisfying when I see the canister full of dog hair and dirt) The only con I ha e found is the head doesn’t fit under the sofa or some tables as easily as the flatter Dyson. I would definately buy this one again when the time comes.

The hose doesn’t extend to reach anything if you don’t lift canister. It stays about 3 feet long at best and pulls the entire machine over when trying to reach with hose without removing canister to go with it.

We’ve been using ours 2 years now without issue. We replace the filters every 6 months and clean the canister after each use. We have hard floors and carpet. If you want clean air to breathe without particles being thrown up into your airspace, this model works great.

Poorly designed triangular canister, requires manual removal of debris. Canister is also smaller than other Shark model square canisters. Has two power levels, hardwood and roller brush. Upright function is not self propelled and on plush carpet requires upper body strength and two hands to push the vacuum forward on the roller brush setting. Does have great suction.

Seriously what a babe. So easy to work with, light, glides with ease. The lift away feature is life changing. The cord is a good length and the vacuum is easy to assemble and empty. It works great on my hard wood floors, I’m able to easily use it to get the ceiling trim. The suction is powerful but doesn’t scratch the floor. Both attachments work great and actually stay on the holder when not in use. Shes my favorite purchase of the year.

Love this Vac!!!
I love how easy it is to use, love the way it easily turns left and right as well as turning corners around chairs. It picks up really well, suction fantastic. It’s quieter than my Dyson. Great Value. It weighs less than my three prior vacumns. The only thing I would change would be a button that releases the junk from the cup so it can be done with one finger rather than 2 hands.

Just used for the first time and as it may seem a bit lighter altogether than my other one was harder to push along the floor than my other one as well. Oddly my arm felt a little tired after using it so I guess it has good suction! Lol Also the wheels made noises when rolling it along the floor probably just because they are plastic.

I never thought I’d find a vacuum that’d clean my long-haired carpet, not just the top surface. This one has such a powerful suction & really gets into the deeper layers fast. I love how I can quickly vacuum each room & into the hallway without having to unplug & replug the cord because it’s long enough to finish each one. And I love that it’s so light, it doesn’t feel like a burden to drag out when it’s time to vacuum. Note: When I say the suction is powerful, I mean you can’t vacuum a rug unless something weighs down the edges, or someone holds it down, while you vacuum. It sucks the rug up. It’s strong enough that you’ll see where your carpet is lifting from the glue, if it doesn’t lift it itself.
