Best vacuum I’ve ever had!
This is my third shark vacuum. I am impressed by the suction power of this vacuum. However, it is very difficult to push on my longer carpet. I have adjusted the suction power to the lowest setting and still struggle. It also pushes around object that’s aren’t imbedded into the carpet. It won’t pick up cheerios, Barbie shoes, raisins or items of similar size. Because of that I would not recommend it to anyone with children.

The dust canister broke on both mine and my daughter’s in the same place. The plastic pieces that hold the latch in place broke and there is no way to hold it on there. Oth only lasted a little over a year.

I had the original purple Shark for about 12 years, which I loved but it died. This one is really similar but it’s very heavy. When pulling back the vacuum on carpet, you *really* have to pull and picking it up to move it is tiresome. It also takes a toll on your back kind of quickly.

never had to spend so much time cleaning the vacuum itself
I really wanted to like this vacuum because of all the star ratings. It seemed light and easy. I have adjusted to the mild wobble it has when you push it. However I have to empty it out four times as often as my old upright. And despite having to empty it four times as often, I also have to clean the big 1-in thick foam filter frequently. It seems to trap most of the dust in it instead of putting it into the collection container. My old vacuum I had clean the dust filter maybe once every 2 years. This one has to regularly be taken out beating out and then in order to get it reasonably clean from all the dust that’s put into it instead of into the canister you empty I have to use a lot of water to wash it out and then wait for it to dry outside cuz I’m not putting it in my dryer. My carpet, and I literally only have one carpet that has about an 8×10 area showing, is no cleaner or dirtier than with my old Hoover pet vacuum, So it seems to work perfectly adequately as far as drawing dirt and debris out of the carpet. It’s just how it handles it once it reaches the vacuum that creates a lot more work than is necessary in my 50 years of vacuuming experience. And the design for the detachable hose is awkward and bulky and makes it hard to reach places that I used to be able to reach with ease. Really wanted to have a five-star vacuum experience but this isn’t it. Don’t get me wrong it cleans up your carpets fine and if you don’t have to vacuum cap furniture and something with tight places to reach with the hose And if you don’t mind all the extra cleaning you have to do with emptying it so often we’re having to wash out that big thick foam filter regularly then it’ll probably be fine for you. But if you use so much less cleaning of a vacuum cleaner you’ll want to move on to something else. I can’t imagine how many times I’d have to empty it if I had wall to wall carpet instead of this one 8×10 rug.

I’ve bought several Shark vacuum cleaners and I should just stick with the one that works. I really wanted to live this but the engineering on it leaves much to be desired. First of all, the locations of the where you can unfasten the stem from the base is inconvenient, the power button is hidden by the suction tube, the suction tube doesn’t stay in one place when you are using the hose without the floor base. I don’t have thick carpet and I am giving it my all to move it across the floor. When I went to empty the canister, it’s two clips on the side as opposed to one button and reattaching it wasn’t fun either. The one plus is, it really picks up dust as it was all over the vacuum after emptying the canister. Going back to the duo.

I had a Dyson for over 20 yrs. I bought this vacuum because we have no kids or pets, and didn’t want to spend $400. The suction is great. It moves good. Easy to operate. But the angle of the attachment’s does not work for under the bed or any other furniture.

Heavy, the cord connection is on the vacumm head instead of the handle so the cord is always in the way unless you hold it by hand. Filters clog immdiately and expensive. Terrible design.

Best vacuum EVER!
I’ve had this vacuum for many years and never had an issue. Over the years my kids grew up and got their own places. All 3 of my daughters also got this vacuum for their homes because they know it’s the best. There’s not one thing I would change and when/if mine poops out, I’ll definitely replace it with another one of these. Dont waste your time, money and frustration with anything else… been there, done that. You won’t be sorry.

Bought this vacuum after moving into an apartment with both lvp and carpet. This vacuum got up so much dust, dirt and pet hair we had to empty the canister multiple times the first couple times we used it. I will never go back to using a dyson. The only negative drawback is the canister doesn’t dump all the debris out and I’m stuck using my hand or a chopstick to get the larger hair clumps out of the top of the container. I can see why everyone recommended this vacuum to me. Love it!

I miss my dyson!
I absolutely hate this vacuum. We have three people with longer hair and a cat, the roller gets jammed up so easily even though I clean it weekly. There is no easy way to clean the small rollers either, so those are just jammed with gunk. It is so unstable t just falls over If I try to use the wand. The carpet setting has never done well on our brand new bedroom carpets, it takes my 20 yr old son to push it across the floor, it is that difficult, and it had been that way since it came out of the box. All around garbage.

I’m on my 4th Shark vacuum and I’ll never buy this one again. I almost wished I returned it. While it has great suction, it’s almost too much for rugs at doors & very top heavy. Constantly having a battle with it falling while the hose is in use. If you have dogs that shed, it’s great. But the dust cup is dreadful in emptying. So much dust and hair gets stuck inside due to a circular plastic piece where a filter goes. I don’t know why they made it where the circular piece is about a 1/2” away from the side. I have to shove my hand in to pull everything out. And it gets dusts everywhere. The accessories… You get 2 and one is useless. I had to buy bushes through Amazon, which of course has adaptors so they work. For $190, plus the $20 for accessories, I expected a vacuum to be a little more user friendly.

Stinks up the whole room
This is the hottest loudest smelliest vacuum I’ve ever owned I have a dog so like to vacuum every day. I just could not force myself. Even after washing the dust bin, within a few minutes the whole room was stinky. Changing the filter did not help. Finally threw it away after using less than a dozen times

Bent part
My vaccuum came bent and the box was really beat up. It looks like it was from a return but when I went to try to do a refund/replacement, that wasn’t an option. If the part could be replaced that would be great. I bought during a sale so I’m guessing that’s why it isn’t allowing replacement, but it’s not my fault it is damaged.

Vacuum works fine, has good suction and is easy to maneuver. However, the attachments are frustrating because they do not stay on and have to be held on while using. The hose looks stretchy but isn’t which causes the vacuum to constantly fall over when using attachments.

Shark Navigator worst vacuum I’ve ever purchased
The suction is poor, utilization of the wand is almost impossible. On bare floors it doesn’t pick everything up, then on carpet you feel like you’re having to power it around. Just not a good vac. Unfortunately, I purchased two of them – won’t ever do that again.

This vacuum has powerful suction. It can lift rugs right off the floor. The down-side is it doesn’t have different settings for low pile and high pile carpet so if you’re trying to vacuum a rug or carpet with higher pile you’re really going to work up a sweat. Wish they would’ve included that feature. Then it would be perfect.

The things that make this vac great also cause issues.
Suction is amazing, but It cannot vac any accent rugs that don’t have heavy, solid bottoms (it sucks the rug into the roller and jams the vac). It is very light weight, but that is because the plastic is thin and fragile. Mom broke an attachment piece her second use after I warned her. Other negatives: The hose attachments are too bulky to get under furniture. The cord is annoyingly short. The hose itself is annoyingly short – I have to hold the entire vacuum with one hand while using the hose – if I don’t it’ll fall over and prob break. All that said, it’s great with pet hair, kitty litter, vacuuming hard wood, and large rugs. If you’re strong enough to move your furniture to vac under it, and you have a gentle hand while using this vac, this is what you’re looking for.

Don’t like as much as my old Hoover Wind Tunnel(which I had for 20+ years), yet this is a great vacuum so far. Good suction, convenient features & feels pretty durable. If this lasts 1/2 as long as the Hoover did, I’ll be happy.

Very happy with purhase
I bought the vacuum a few weeks ago to replace a Dyson I bought about 5 years ago. I”ve always purchased Dyson but the last one I had was too heavy, too awkward to maneuver and it won’t pick up items like cat kibble or cheerios. And it was expensive. Wasn’t sure what to expect with the Shark but I’ve been pleased with it so far. Far less expensive, not heavy as the Dyson was, much quieter, easy to maneuver, suction on floors and carpet is very good, dust pan easy to empty and I like having the filters. I was surprised to see how much dust, etc. they attract. I would recommend and purchase again.

This really sucks
This was a replacement for a 1 year old vacuum. It was amazing to feel how much suction this has. I actually had to turn down the auction to clean my carpets. Easy to use and seems to pick up a lot of the dirt. I like being able to remove the canister for the stairs and other things. We’ll see if it lasts.

Not well designed
I have had my Dyson for almost 20 years, and have been very impressed with its design. The plastic pieces started to fail, so it needed to be replaced. I purchased the Shark based on the excellent reviews. Although the suction is as good as the Dyson, it is not well balanced. Also, the electrical cord is in an awkward place, and using the attachment tools is challenging, because the machine is not stable and topples over very often. I don’t like tossing things and adding to landfill, but this vacuum is not practical.

The assembly was easy and I am pleased with the performance of the Shark. I am amazed at how much dirt it picks up from the rugs. It’s not as easy to maneuver as my Progressive canister, but it certainly cleans up nicely. Good value.

Non-powered and “lift away” system separates from the head unit.
Unless you are looking for a full body workout in your vacuum, stay away. I have exercise equipment for my workouts wasn’t expecting more in my vacuum. Lift away system doesn’t work the same as earlier model Sharks. The lift away separates completely from the head unit. Not sure yet the purpose. Good suction, that’s the only thing that kept me from giving it one-star. If I hadn’t let my 30 day trial expire, I wouldn’t have kept it.
