The media could not be loaded. I noticed a lot of the bad things people were saying in the reviews had been fixed. I was able to easily move it into tight spaces and it turned right and left! It cleaned my floor better than any other vacuum I’ve had. You do have to empty it every 1 or 2 uses so far. I’m guessing that will be less the more and more you use it. I have no problems getting it to stand on its own. The bottom of it you can detach and take it to the stairs. It makes it a lot easier than just carrying the whole vacuum and it just stands there for you. I love this vacuum. It was a great deal for such and amazing working cleaning machine!
We bought this after seeing multiple people say they had thick/ shag carpet and it worked well for them. Well that was not the case for us! The vacuum legitimately sucked in our carpet and would not move. So it was powerful but when you have thick/plush carpet, that doesn’t work. Therefore if you have very thick carpet, it likely won’t work for you either.

Purchased to retire/replace the previous model (shark navigator) that worked like a boss for 8 years. Suction is comparable & impressive. This model has buckles to release the canister. Previous model was a one button release (loved that). The lower bracket to wind cord is located way too close to where the cord connects to the machine. The new purple model offers fancy obstacles I didn’t realize I’d have to jockey around but I will because the performance is exceptional. Just wish the manufacturer would’ve been more cognizant of design features that factor into overall ease of use.

This vacuum cleaner is so much easier to use than my old Hoover Wind Tunnel. It is lightweight and easy to maneuver. And the dirt and cat hair pick up is great! I didn’t read the entire directions before first use so I missed the part about holding the roller brush holding part down with my foot while tilting the upright handle back. But I once I caught on it worked beautifully!

I owned a Shark vacuum prior to purchasing this one and loved it. Unfortunately, the roller mechanism has failed and after a short time of running the indicator light flashes red. With that being said, I was forced to purchase a replacement. I should have followed my instincts and purchased a different model than this one. The BIG issue is, there is no way to get to the brush roller to clean it with ease. It is ridiculous how the instructions advise to clean. Also, on a rug a purchased 8×10, it does work at all. The rug is thin, but neither the bare floor setting works or the carpet setting works. This is not acceptable, but unless I want to purchase a replacement, I am stuck for now. In a nut shell, I would not purchase again or recommend it.

No Suction, Can’t Pick Up Debris from Wood Floors
This is one of the worst vacuums I’ve ever had. It works ok on carpet but the suction power doesn’t exist on hardwood floors. By the time you’ve slowly run the vacuum over the same grains of dirt on the floor repeatedly enough for the vacuum to get some of it, you’ll just wish you had used a dustpan.

This vacuum has great suction cleaning, which was my main priority in purchasing, but it is heavier than I wanted. It’s not lightweight, which is probably why maneuverability is limited as well. Overall it will do the clean job, but the rolling/lugging around is a bit difficult.

This is my second Shark vacuum, my first lasting almost 10 years. This vacuum is even better than the first. The vacuum is highly maneuverable, easy to clean, and light weight. Cord is not as long as my old vacuum. Bad design. The cord comes from the bottom so you have to hold it in your hand so as not to run over it. When i use the wand and try to pull it, it falls over and almost hits me. It does have good suction.

The vacuum cleaner has the best suction on any vacuum I have ever used. Falls over way to easy. Shortest hose ever, try reaching a low ceiling is ridiculous. Dust/dirt holder, did the engineers every vacuum before? You have to empty usually using your hands to get everything out. Too small of a space. Pet hair clogged the carpet rollers, have to use plyers to get out.

I couldn’t stand our old vacuum another minute after hauling it around the living room, trying to get all those dead Christmas tree needles. This one was recommended by Wirecutter and I took a chance. What a difference! The old vacuum weighed at least twice as much and was a real chore to maneuver, plus the hose was cracked and the local repair shop said they couldn’t get parts for it. This vacuum is super-light and easy to use. No more bags of dirt! This almost makes vacuuming pleasant.

This is great for picking up dog hair!
I was about to have to get rid of an area rug that I could not get the dog hair out of after trying a couple of different vacuums. The trouble started when I got a cheaper version of a robotic vacuum which seemed to grind dog hair into the rug instead of picking up dog hair. My old upright vacuum could not get all of the hair up after that. I tried another light weight vacuum, and that also could not remove dog hair. Finally, my last ditch effort prior to throwing out 8 x 10 rug was this vacuum. I got the vacuum today, and it worked extremely well in picking up all of the dog hair!

Great suction
My old Shark died, got another one like it. The suction was so great that now I know my old one wasn’t doing too good anymore. There is a dial to help with the strength of the suction. I like how you can pull it apart and use as a handle for the stairs. Only thing is this one didn’t come with a long hose tube accessory, I kept the one I had with my old one.

It Doesn’t Last
Loved the shark initially. Convenient, small so it gets into tight areas, lightweight. Then the noise started. We checked every hose we could, turned it upside down and checked the spinning. My husband said he thinks the bearings? or similar type of part are going bad. We had had the vacuum about two yrs before it began to sound like an aeroplane taking off and the noise level has continued to increase. Its just out of warranty, of course. I’m still using it but you have to wear ear protection or use it only briefly. I’m fairly certain it’s going to either stop working or explode.. sounds awful. Warranties should really be longer. I paid $180 just over 3 yrs ago and the vacuum should last at least 5. Not buying a shark again and not buying a vacuum from Amazon again either. Buy local with an on-site repair shop.

I love our shark! Had it for 10 yrs. Same type, lift away, rotator. The Hose cracked so we decided to buy a new vacuum. This new one doesn’t have a headlight, looks like no models do now. Old one does. The old attachments do not fit new one, I didn’t expect them to but it would be smart. This new one is not as durable as old one. This new one is cheaply made. What happened Shark?? I do like the suction on new one.

I’ve been generally very happy with this vacuum cleaner. It does a great job and it’s easy to maneuver. My only complaint is that sometimes the hoses seem to disconnect on their own and you have to be mindful to see if they are connected and working.

Super suction and brush roller, easy to put together, comes apart so you can carry around the container, easily empties and the entire vacuum comes apart in pieces making it easy to disassemble, clean or remove blockage and reassemble, brush stops rolling if it picks up string and will let you know to clean it out by illuminating a blockage light. Picks up dog hair like a champ, works on carpet, furniture and even wood floors without a scratch. I have 3 dogs, 1 is a husky, and this vacuum cleans the whole house like a champ in under an hour, I even use it for dusting. You won’t regret it.

Would NOT recommend
I bought this vacuum because I was seeing good reviews of other Shark vacuums. Perhaps it’s just this model that isn’t great, but I wouldn’t recommend it for several reasons. 1. The cord is too short. 2. I don’t like the way the waste container clips in – it requires two hands and isn’t a quick click in. 3. Most importantly, it doesn’t do a good job picking up crumbs from hard floors, which I primarily have. It picks crumbs up and shoots them back out the back of the vacuum. It did seem to do better on my rugs, but I have to have a good vacuum for hardwood floors.

Best Vacuum. Too Bad they don’t make the Roller Removable. Hair wrap ruined the product.
I love shark vacuums, there is NO vacuum like shark when it comes to suction power! I am disappointed though that the Shark Nav team has not made their vacuums capable of having the roller removed after each use to remove hair wrap. We have an 800 sq ft home and two people with long hair. The vacuum has broken due to hair wrap. The hair wrapped so tightly along the roller that the hair became melded and permanently attached to the gears/edges of the roller. To fix it, I would need to buy a whole new roller. Removing the roller was a HASSEL. I needed special screwdrivers. I DARE and I CHALLENGE the RD team at Shark to please make a removable vacuum roller so that hair wrap can be removed after each use. I would never buy another vacuum but Shark’s products if they would do this. A different brand, ORFELD, makes a small rechargeable vacuum that has the perfect removable roller to remove hair wrap. Please Shark! Give your people the vacuum they need and make an easy to remove and replace roller to prevent hair wrap! I’ll be your first customer when you do!!

Don’t buy, hose rips after time
Want to love this, and this is my second time purchasing this same exact model vacuum because I did love the swivel and the suction. However, the hose rips after some time. Happened on my first one. Thought maybe I just had bad luck and loved the vacuum so much so I ordered it a second time. A year and a half later and here I am with the same problem. A ripped hose in multiple places and no suction because of it. would NOT recommend.

BEST Vacuum ever!
This exact model of Shark Vacuum is the first Shark Vacuum I ever owned many years ago and I was in love with it then- since then had a few others and nothing ever compared. This vacuum is just the best. It cleans so well. The ONLY two complaints I have is a) the cord is not retractable (the last vacuum I had – a Bissell- had a retractable cord and that was about the only good thing about it); and b) there are no little “homes” to put the attachments. There are 2 attachments and they are just loose – there are no knobs on the handle to attach them to so that’s slightly a pain. Those would be the only 2 things I would change about this vacuum. The suction is so awesome and the attachment gets up all the cat hair. Great for hard wood and carpet. Plus it has the filter that catches allergens. I would absolutely recommend this vacuum to anyone, especially people with pets.

Totally worth it.
Had our last Shark for 9 years until it finally broke. Tried a cheaper Bissell for a week but returned it. It had great suction but after loving my shark for so long, I had to go back. The new shark has great suction but almost too good. I find it difficult to sweep small rugs and I feel like I change the suction/pile knob more. That is the only reason I gave it 4 stars. But honestly love it and worth the buy. Very lightweight as well and moves around nice.
