The media could not be loaded. I noticed a lot of the bad things people were saying in the reviews had been fixed. I was able to easily move it into tight spaces and it turned right and left! It cleaned my floor better than any other vacuum I’ve had. You do have to empty it every 1 or 2 uses so far. I’m guessing that will be less the more and more you use it. I have no problems getting it to stand on its own. The bottom of it you can detach and take it to the stairs. It makes it a lot easier than just carrying the whole vacuum and it just stands there for you. I love this vacuum. It was a great deal for such and amazing working cleaning machine!
We bought this after seeing multiple people say they had thick/ shag carpet and it worked well for them. Well that was not the case for us! The vacuum legitimately sucked in our carpet and would not move. So it was powerful but when you have thick/plush carpet, that doesn’t work. Therefore if you have very thick carpet, it likely won’t work for you either.

Sucks in a bad way
It is super hard to push/pull on even the shortest carpet rug. I seriously am doing a workout to try to get it to move. Great for suction I guess, but when I can barely move it, I’m just hurting my back. On the bare floors, there is a small surface area it actually works to suck up material so I end up going over and over the same area trying to catch everything. The attachments constantly fall off and make it too annoying to deal with. If I try to detach the arm and get into corners etc. the whole machine constantly falls over because the flexible tubing is so tight, it doesn’t want to go far. I would have returned it if it wasn’t so big. If I had purchased at a box store, this thing would already be gone. I use it when I forget how much I hate it and how useless it feels after. Like a bad break-up you think might have some redemption after a few months. No. I am better off wrestling with my old Kenmore canister than this thing. Set your boundaries and pass on this one.

Don’t go over your cord!
Well, during the first use seem to be working well. Accidentally ran the vacuum over the cord and it got wrapped in the vacuum head and striped the insulation off the wire to the point there bare wires exposed. It was a 5 star for about 15 minutes

Not practical to use on medium pile carpet
Plenty of suction power and great for hardwood floors. It is very hard to move on medium pile carpet. This is the reason we returned it. We have had Shark vacuums for years and this was the only one we have returned. We ended up getting a much more expensive one (Shark brand) with better adjustments and it works well on carpets as well as hardwood.

POS stopped working after one year and 350 days
Very minimal use was used on one floor of the house. The vacuum cleaners roller stopped working, took it apart, which is and itself quite difficult and designed that way despicable company no doubt just look it up online repair my shark navigator God bless.

My shark has been a good vacuum. Priced well and functioned as desired. What the reviews seem to miss, however, is that when something goes wrong it is virtually impossible to get it fixed. The machines are designed to not be fixable – you just have to buy a new one. Mine is my last one.

Doesn’t work in carpet mode
Put together and worked in carpet mode (brush turning) for a few seconds then stopped. The worst part is I cannot drop it off at a nearby Amazon drop off. Amazon specifically tells me to take it to an Amazon drop off in Fontana Ca (which is twelve miles away) and the balance will be returned to my account within THIRTY DAYS! So, I have a vacuum that doesn’t work and don’t have the funds to buy a new one but have to drive 24 miles round trip to return it. Thanks Shark and Amazon for this headache of a purchase.

Powerful Suction
Unusually powerful suction. Seems pretty sturdy. I only just took it from the box, assembled it, and tested it. 1st impression is positive. The rug beater leaves brush lines in the carpet where other vacuums fluff the carpet pile, this one Ieaves brush lines in the carpet as though I was going to plant a crop. I like it though. I’ll get back to you in a few months and share my thoughts then.

Roller brush fractured; unrepairable
Purchased this model to replace a Hoover Wind Tunnel that we used for several years, but we gave away for use at college (it still works). We used the floor vacuum moderately for about 3.5 months (~2x per week to clean a 8′ x 12′ rug); we used the hose more frequently to pick up dust piles. The roller snapped upon normal use, with only dog hair (3″ length, maximum) on the roller. See the attached photo, where the roller fracture is shown by the arrow. Worse, the roller and belt are unserviceable, as the screws have a tamper-resistant center post to prevent a typical torque tool. A consumer consumer cannot replace these parts. I recommend avoiding this brand/model.

Totally disappointed
We replaced a Shark that we had for years and loved as the roller part broke, but this one has not even lasted a year and already having problems. The part that connects the tube attachment to the base no longer locks in place and so you have to hold it together.

Awkward Compared to Shark Navigator
The release button for the full wand is in an awkward spot. Have to bend down and pull. Attachment holder is in a bad spot as well. Suction is great however the swivel completely broke and separated the brushhead from the rest of the unit after falling over 1 time on wood floor while vacuuming a sofa. Had it for 4 months. Going to pay the extra money and buy another navigator or model.

Product completely stopped working just after warranty period!
My (very sparingly used) unit stopped working suddenly just a few months after the warranty expired. The unit just wouldn’t turn on. Customer support is useless – I wasted more than 30min troubleshooting only for them to claim they couldn’t replace or repair the unit. When you spend a lot of money to buy a vacuum, you expect it to last..not this one! Customer support had a chance to make it right, but they didn’t. Not buying another Shark vacuum again!

Long Hair? Do not buy.
This vacuum’s brush head gets incredibly clogged with pet hair and human hair. That would be a problem, itself, but in addition, it’s nearly impossible to clean. The bristles have some kind of velcro-like quality that does not let the hair go. My husband tried to remove the base of the head to have better access to the bristles, but that is not an option on this vacuum. He actually ended up burning the hair out with a lighter!

Great Suction but angers husband
This Shark is our 3rd and not the best. While it has excellent suction on bare floors and area rugs, it angers my husband every time he uses it. He is very disappointed with – * the attachments or lack thereof. Brush attachments are nice for cleaning vents, sills and refrigerator intake * the attachment “dock” is by far the worst design compared to previous models. Have to remove it if you wish to decouple from floor brush section * the hose stretch is worthless as it will tip over the vacuum almost immediately He is continually trying to bring our Navigator back!

Strong suction, Glides beautifully
I’ve always dreaded the day my Dyson upright older model vacuum cleaner would die because they no longer make them (think pre-Dyson ball). I had already purchased other vacuum cleaners to prepare but always ended up returning them. Why do they make the heads so small now? That’s that many times over you have to push the thing to cover surface area. Anyways, I needed something that would work on both tile and carpet and this does the job. It has a setting for bare floor and another for the brush roll to be on (carpet). There is also a suction adjustment setter. It’s called the suction control collar and it’s on the handle. At first I was having to push it with all my night to vacuum the carpet (clearly didn’t read any instructions) because the suction was so strong. Once I read the booklet and adjusted it I was thrilled because I can even use it on a beautiful high pile area rug I have. You can set it very low and use it on drapes as well. The value for the money is great considering I was paying $500 for my Dyons ten years ago and this was only $150. The quality seems sturdy. It has plenty of power. I would have liked a longer cord like my Dyson had but I have plenty of outlets so it’s just a matter of moving the plug around. This might be an issue for others, but not anythjng an extension cord can’t fix. The container that collects the dust is awkwardly shaped and makes it hard to shake everything out efficiently. I would buy it again and do recommend it.

I just got 2 Golden Retriever dogs and wanted to find a good vacuum to manage the pet hair. I have hardwood floors with lots of area rugs. With the flip of a switch, I can easily go from carpet to bare floor. I knew it would work good when not even 5 feet of the rug vacuumed, and there was lots of dust and hair in the canister. The reason why I gave it 3 stars is because it is so hard to push on the area rug. It’s like it is sucking too hard to it. I even opened up the valve to reduce the suction, but it is still hard to push at times. I was hoping for tangle-free because I have long hair, but after 2 uses, there is hair tangled in the brushes. The hand brush worked pretty good. It’s helpful to get hair off of the sofa.

I bought this vacuum and only just unboxed it! No matter what I do, the top handle will not lock into the the vacuum’s main pipe. I watched a video where this happens when the inner ring of the handle is dirty and needs cleaning. But, this is a brand new vacuum! I had to tie the handle down to be able to use it! Just a warning!!

Not Worth the Money
I HAVE HAD A SHARK NAVIGATOR DLX FOR ABOUT 7 YEARS NOW, IT IS THE BEST VACUUM EVER!!! MY PUPPY GOT AHOLD OF IT A FEW TIMES RECENTLY AND HAD TO PURCHASE A NEW UNIT. WENT WITH THIS MODEL BEINGS IT IS A NAVIGATOR LIFT AWAY DELUXE AND BECAUSE OF THE PRICE, THAT WAS A MISTAKE. THIS MODEL DOES NOT HAVE VERY GOOD SUCTION AND IT’S ENGINEERING DESIGN IS CHEAPLY MADE AND NOT VERY DURABLE,(COMPARED TO PREVIOUS SHARK). I AM A FAN OF THE “SHARK” PRODUCTS, JUST NOT THIS ONE. I WOULD HAVE RETURNED IT BUT MISSED MY 30 DAY WINDOW.

Outstanding Product
Our family has had this same model for 10 years. The original one still works perfectly fine and use it in the garage for the cars and patio carpet. Bought two new ones – one for the house and one for our daughter dorm. These vacuums are truly quality built. Buy an extra filter kit. And clean the primary filter regularly.

It sucks and it’s loud. Don’t worry It’s a good thing.
Quite the loud vacuum this is, especially when you “lift up” (opinion coming from someone who had one of the worst stick vacuums on the market. Maybe im just not used to the volume these machines put out). With that being said, power is what you are getting. I haven’t cleaned this apartment in over 6 months. Lol boy was it dusty. Used the attachments (awkward) to tackle the blinds and window crevices. Once assembled (btw easy) this vacuum did quick work of the hard wood floors, tile and a few throw rugs. Please note: be sure to power on the brush for carpets. Again, the suction power was very high and with one pass broken leaves and popcorn were picked up in between the fibers of these rugs with just as much ease as it was to assemble the vacuum. Was astonished as how much pet hair it picked up with just a few passes too. I am giving it 4 stars just because the whole thing is just a bit awkward (but it fits my personality). It’s bulky, the design of this vacuum is awkward, and makes it unable to roll under low profile dressers, low height coffee tables, or low profile bed frames, basically everything in my apartment. In short its not great around short furnishings but it is so powerful you won’t need to make more than one pass. It’s fine. It does the work and I’m not prejudice against awkward vacuums. Just because blindfolded designers created this pile, doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be appreciated. I still have my swiffer to get underneath the bed frame and dressers.

Worked fine, motor died in 13 months
We’ve used this about 5x a week for a year, but the motor is now cutting out, intermittently flipping on and off. No clogs, well maintained, just a dying motor for no observable reason.
