Balancing the Scales: The Pros and Cons of the Product
The Braava Jet M6 robot mop and vacuum bundle seems to have a few positive aspects worth mentioning. A customer who had recently undergone shoulder surgery praised the product, stating that it was a “life saver,” indicating that the vacuum and mop function as expected and provide a significant convenience factor for individuals with limited mobility (Joe Covey). Another customer found that the vacuum performed exceptionally well, highlighting its “terrific” cleaning power and its ability to effectively navigate the layout of their home, cleaning in straight lines and reaching corners effectively (Yar Mosnar). The customer also expressed satisfaction with the map recognition capability of the vacuum. The capability of the Roomba s9 vacuum to thoroughly clean surfaces and leave hardwood floors “nice and shiny” has been mentioned, indicating its effective performance on different floor types (Amazon Customer). Furthermore, another user was pleased with the product’s absorption and cleaning capacity, providing a strong endorsement of its fundamental purpose (Olga E.).
Despite the positive points, there are significant cons reported by customers that overshadow the benefits. One of the most common complaints concerns the product’s durability and longevity. Several users have reported that the product stopped working after just over a year, with one customer frustrated that the Wi-Fi function ceased to work, rendering mapping and auto-start features useless (Kelly). In another instance, the small button that releases the pad broke and Roomba would not replace the part, suggesting a lack of support for repairs (DWA Construction Co.).
Users have also reported significant issues with the product’s mapping and navigation capabilities. Descriptions such as “Garbage technology” (Rom) and “Incapable of discovery and cleaning” (jrg) indicate that the robots often get lost, stuck, or fail to properly map the area. One customer detailed the vacuum’s tendency to “eat appliance cords” and damage furniture, which points to a lack of sophisticated obstacle avoidance (Joe.g).
Technical issues seem to be a recurring theme, with one user unable to use the product due to a loose plug that would not stay connected, rendering the device non-operational (Carlos Vasquez). Other reviews highlighted frequent error messages, such as the “Bin Error,” which occurs without any apparent reason and disrupts cleaning (Amazon Customer). The high cost of replacement parts and the need for frequent replacements have also been a point of dissatisfaction (Michael D. Murphy).
Customer service experiences have largely been negative, with reports of unhelpful support and extended periods without resolution (HPthatsME). Users also lamented the need for additional purchases to fully utilize the mop’s features (Amazon Customer), and some have suggested that the products are overpriced for the level of functionality they offer (FranCarv, Amazon Customer).
Overall, the feedback indicates that while the Roomba s9 and Braava Jet M6 bundle has the potential to offer convenience and effective cleaning, the numerous issues related to durability, navigation, technical glitches, and customer service may not justify the investment for many consumers.

People find the following negative one quite helpful. Reviewed in the United States on November 27, 2023 by Kelly, titled “Was good, but only lasted 1 year 3 months.”
The mop still works great. I highly recommend it. The vacuum stopped working after a year and 3 months. It did a good job while it lasted. The WiFi will not work now, so it doesn’t map or follow a map. It will not auto-start either. If you want a temporary solution that will last at least a year, then it was great while it lasted. It is very noisy, so don’t expect to run it while you are at home.

Understanding More: Questions Answered and Explained
Can the vacuum and mop work simultaneously? No, they are designed to work sequentially for optimal cleaning. The Roomba s9+ first vacuums the floor, and once it’s done, it communicates with the Braava Jet m6 to start mopping, ensuring a thorough clean. Do I need to manually refill the Braava Jet m6 with water? Yes, you will need to manually refill the water tank on the Braava Jet m6 when it runs low. The robot mop does not have an automatic water refilling system. How does the smart mapping feature work? The smart mapping technology allows the robots to intelligently navigate and remember the layout of your home. Over time, they learn the most efficient cleaning paths and can even recognize specific rooms for targeted cleaning when requested. Is the iRobot Home App required for operation? While not strictly required since the robots can be started with a simple button press, the iRobot Home App greatly enhances functionality. It allows for scheduling, customized cleaning preferences, and access to smart mapping features. Can I control these robots with voice commands? Yes, they are compatible with voice assistants like Amazon Alexa. You can start, stop, or schedule cleaning sessions with simple voice commands. Are these robots suitable for homes with pets? Yes, the Roomba s9+ has strong suction and a high-efficiency filter that make it capable of picking up pet hair and dander, while the Braava Jet m6 can tackle paw prints and spills. How often do I need to empty the Roomba s9+’s bin? The Roomba s9+ comes with a Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal that allows it to empty itself for up to 60 days, depending on usage and the amount of dirt and debris it picks up.

Bad product, bad company, do not buy
Ive had this for 3 years now and its gotten worse and worse with every update. The behavior sucks. It will roam around not vacuuming and ignoring barriers and then run out of battery before getting anything done. If you try to use a high capacity 3rd party battery, which you could do with older roombas, it detects it and refuses to charge because they want you to overpay for their terrible 1st party batteries. Their data practices are also bad and they sell everything about you they can gather from your home to advertisers. This is a bad product from a bad company do not buy.

1.5 years in, cant get it to dock
Ive spent hours cleaning and teying to position the device so it can dock. It fails consistently. It didnt used to do so. This leaves it full and the battery soon dies after it goes back and forth for hours right in front of the dock. Thats where it runs out of battery. If i manually place it, it charges and I can use it again (after it charges). Not quite the reliability I was looking for.

Junk
Worst purchase I have ever made. The product never really performed satisfactorily and I barely used it. There were only a couple of rooms it could manage to get to, so I only used it a couple times a month. Two years later, it needs parts and iRobot does not have them and has no plans of ever providing them. They offered me a lousy $100 credit towards a purchase of a new product that I am certain will not work or last. What a joke. The sooner tgis company folds, the better!!! Junk!!!

Save your money
Roomba customer service is terrible. They no longer sell replacement parts for this line of vacuums. I purchased this in December 2022 and since then I have had to replace the corner brush multiple times, now I am no longer able to. Most of the time the vac gets stuck running over a rug, doesn’t know how to get back to the base, and has a hard time getting back onto the base. Overall, I would save your money and buy a cheaper one. Not worth the headache of spending so much money for it to constantly not work.

Not to the same standard
We have had iRobots in the past, and we were expecting the same cleaning quality as the older models. This set errors often, surprisingly loud, does not clean without leaving areas of debris, and the mop has zero control or direction. We regret this purchase and regret missing the return window. We will now have a disappointing set that does a loud, mediocre job. Good times.

Absolutely worth the money.
The media could not be loaded. We purchased this combo more than 4 years ago. We have not needed to sweep our mop our home since. This combo is highly recommended. Please note, buy authentic replacement parts.

iRobot Roomba s9+ = Great Braava Jet m6 = Troubles
No problems with Roomba s9+, however the Braava Jet m6 slowly began have issues (over last 2 years). Now the Braava Jet m6 is completely unreliable. Loses partial mapping every time, never will complete the job. I have tried factory reset multiple times. Now I am using the extended warranty. The common loss of traction is also happening every time (hardwood floors). I have replaced the tires and mopped by hand to remove any slick residue. Nothing helps. The cost is too high to not expect high quality.

Pretty cool product, but…….
I’m allergic to cats & run a cat rescue. Having a robotic vacuum for a friend makes all the difference in the world to me! I’ve had a number of robot friends over the years, including several Roombas. Many of the features have bugs. I’ve gone around the house & picked up everything not nailed down, moving furniture, etc. & the mapping has not worked out once. The mapping feauture leaves a lot to be desired. The suction is sufficient. It works fairly well when it works. It doesn’t respect no-go zones as it should, so you may have to follow it around to make sure it doesn’t go when it oughtn’t. or do like I do & place heavy objects in its way. The mop does a good job. I’m very impressed with some of the improvements they’ve made to the mop. The one most negative point for me is the poor customer service. Good luck getting them to answer when you have a concern. This last one was the worst, though. I contacted them with an issue. They had me do this, do that, do these things again & again until the warranty was up. Then they told me that they “couldn’t help because the warranty was up.” They finally did send me another unit, but with no warranty. It mustv’e been a used model because it didn’t last but a few weeks. For as much as we spend on these products, we deserve something that’s going to last awhile. I will be going back to one of the other brands that has done me well in the past.

“Out of Stock” Buyer Beware
I purchased the iRobot S9 Vacuum from Amazon with high expectations given its top-of-the-line status and $1000 price tag. Unfortunately, my experience has been far from satisfactory. Initially, the vacuum required multiple part replacements within the first few months, which iRobot’s customer service handled, albeit slowly. The process of self-installing these parts was cumbersome and not what one would expect from such an expensive product. The issues continued even after the warranty period, with iRobot acknowledging the defective nature of certain parts and sending replacements. However, just 14 months after purchase, the vacuum experienced a major failure with the Wheel Module, a part known for frequent malfunctions. The wheels, made of soft rubber, require regular replacement, but they are not removable from the module, necessitating a complete module replacement. To my dismay, iRobot did not have the necessary parts in stock, and their website indicated they were “Out of stock.” Despite my efforts to contact iRobot and check with their authorized retailers, the part has remained unavailable for the past eight months, rendering my vacuum inoperative. Adding to my frustration, I recently discovered that iRobot has discontinued the S9 unit, despite it being their top model and still available on shelves at most retailers. Upon contacting iRobot again, I was informed that there were no plans to restock the necessary parts, and I was offered options for a trade-in to a different model. In summary, I invested $1000 in a vacuum that functioned for only 14 months, and now a consumable part essential for its operation is no longer manufactured. This experience has been incredibly disappointing, and I would caution others against purchasing this product or any other from iRobot, given their business practices and lack of support for their high-end models.

Buy it at your own risk
The media could not be loaded. I was sold on what was considered the top of the line vacuum combo unit. Unfortunately it seems that’s not the case. I’ve had multiple issues with this unit. For the 1st year Roomba would take care of them. After that you are apparently on your own. Instead of Roomba being proactive and either recalling or updating their software to fix this widely known problem that several people have posted videos about them being faulty, Roomba offers a buy back at a small fraction of the original cost to sell you another new one. I am truly disappointed that I purchased these. Now it’s totally useless and it’s less than 2 years old. I wasn’t even using it that often.

It’s low key a waste of money.
They don’t last, and it malfunctions all the time. Customer service is not really helpful and I get it that they have to troubleshoot before.

Turns to junk after the warranty expires
Worked great until the warranty ran out. It started vacuuming the same spots over and over. The app said it was running but it would brick out. I paid way to much for this junk. Don’t buy this.

Makes life so much better!
I love the feeling of a clean home, but I don’t have the time to keep it spotless. This duo makes quick work out of the chores I’ve been putting off for too long. They even get under hard to reach areas like my King size bed, there were SO many fuzz bunnies & hair clumps under there’s that this found. Navigation is spot on, these machines go close to the legs of chairs and work their way around each leg and under each chair, pulling off hair and fuzz attached at the bottom. The mapping part took about 4 hours with 1 re-charging break, but that’s cause we have a lot of furniture in our home which it needs to map around. The app is amazing & allows you to select multiple different zones, so that certain areas can be cleaned more often due to their higher frequency of use (like entry ways for example). You can set schedules and have everything cleaned while you’re not home, just make sure cords are secured and everything’s off the floor (which you should do before maids arrive or before you manually vacuum as well). You can also select areas to keep them out of. And the app tells you how long your machines have been working, so you can check on them remotely. I wish I would have asked for this gift sooner! I can breathe better without all the dust and dirt in my home. And the Braava jet mop has also helped with this since most of my house is hardwood, they are so clean and shiny now! With little to no effort of time invested from me! The battery life is about 2-2.5 hours, but this isn’t a problem as these will return to their hub, pause their cleaning cycle, charge, and then go back out and resume where they left off! Their size is just right, not too big, not too small, they fit in a lot of hard to reach places like chairs and under beds. I’ll be having these clean my house every couple days now!

Just doesn’t clean
The media could not be loaded. Despite its advertising as the best suction, the iRobot S9+ fails to effectively remove dust from our floors. Even after manually vacuuming and cleaning the mop pads, replacing the filters and side brushes, and washing the mop, our floors remain unclean. Furthermore, the Braava Jet M6 is incapable of mopping stains, merely simulating the mopping action. These purchases amount to a significant waste of $1081.

Don’t buy the S9 – 1 year warrantee is not enough
I have gone through a couple of these due to issues with the vacuum. I have owned the most recent bundle for a little over two years. I was sure it had a 3-year warrantee but was corrected by their support that is only a 1 year unless you bought the extended warrantee at some point. Not sure where I would have done that. Mine has the bumper 9 error and is now a paper weight.

Best Purchase Ever

Planned Obsolescence Alert
I take good care of my expensive home electronics. I have completed all the maintenance, purchased replacement parts, etc. However, after less than 2 years, both the mop and the vacuum have completely lost their navigational functionality (i.e., they can’t find every room and sometimes can’t even make it out of the living room) and no longer work with the app. I purchased these to replace a different Roomba that I had for about 2 years as well. I contacted customer support multiple times and despite running through the troubleshooting steps more than once, the issue wasn’t fixed and they ultimately decided to ghost me.

Wouldnt recommend the product !!!
Very noisy, always need help, has docking issues, parts and brushes are too delicate and get easily damanged.

Spray stopped functioning months ago bad customer service
Got both the vac and the mop. Spray mop stopped functioning months ago. Multiple calls to customer service who had me cleaning and waiting an hour each time, only to be told yea it does not work and it’s now out of warrantee. Ridiculous waste of $1000+

Vacuum works okay. Mop needs improvement.
Vacuum: I was thrilled to see they tried to grab the best of Neato after that company went out of business. Maps pretty well. Doesn’t get stuck much like the original Roomba did. Does bump hard, even in gentle mode. Knicks up my baseboards in certain places. App is pretty good too. Like the self emptying feature. Mop: Did a great mopping job when it worked. Nice map grab feature where you can just tell it to use the map that the vacuum created. So you don’t have to redo room labels, room dividers and thresholds all over again. It never did learn thresholds despite the ability to mark thresholds in the map (at one point I even used a tape measure to get the thresholds just so. Got hung up regularly on our T molding between the tile in the kitchen or bath and the LVT in the great room and hallway. The vacuum never got hung up there. After 11 months, the mop started to leave the base and make a sharp right turn and then circle or backandforth near the base. Then I’d get an ‘undocking issue’ message from the app. Reset, rebooted, re-mapped, moved the base to a new spot, cleaned the sensors, cleaned the whole mop, called support who told me to do all the same things I’d already done and nothing worked. Learned if I just pressed ‘play’ on the app when I got that error, it would continue to mop normally. Then when docking, it would set itself askew, or miss the base or work on a 130-point turn and finally give a ‘docking issue’ error. Wasn’t worth my time with Support not helping so I bought the new vacuum/mop combo. Probably their plan all along…

Really unreliable bad designed stuff
1. Braava never worked as expected having parking trouble. And for the 2 years the battery died 2 times. Sliding on tiles 2. Corner brush on the Roomba wearing really fast because it keeps spinning on the carpet. Useless and impossible to turn off 3. Support targeted for the new sales instead of helping with resolution

Meh
Vacuum is mediocre with parts wearing out quickly and costly to replace. Already had multiple issues that I had to contact iRobot over the last 2 years. Mop is ok when it doesn’t try to mop my area rugs

Done with iRobot products. starts malfunctioning just after warranty expires.
On my third S9+ in three years and it has started malfunctioning and is out of warrenty. 1 of them was a warranty replacement and when that one started malfunction there was a good black Friday sale with the mop and purchased. Been using iRobot vacuums for years at different price points none have them have lasted very long and the top of the line (at least at that timepoint) I expected it to be different. As far as the mopping when it worked, it was just ok, but it does not want to see to leave the dock and then errors that it could not start so didn’t get much use out of it. Love the convivence when they function properly and as iRobot was pretty much the only qualityish game in town, didn’t have much choice for options. That is not the case anymore, better rated (consumer reports wise) reviewed products have come along way, going to give one of them a try and stop wasting my money on iRobot.

Malfunctioned within 3 weeks
I initially really liked this robot. It was a huge upgrade from my older one. However, it stopped working within 3 weeks of purchase. I called tech support and they are sending a replacement part which I have to install. Very disappointed that it failed this quickly. Considering returning it instead.

Didn’t Work – Product Return Was Smooth Enough
I was not able to get the vacuum to work properly. Although it successfully mapped the floor space, I had to monitor it constantly as I kept getting an error 26 which translated to clogged filters. I cleaned them every time although nothing was actually clogged. It was stopping about every 15 minutes. I tried every advice from iRobot and other sites to get it to work, but I gave up and returned it. Fortunately the return process was easy hence the 3 stars. I never got to trying the mop. I have since bought a new model as I didn’t want to try buying used again.

Great product-time savor sometimes
The dual unit is nice, for a guy that cannot get around well. This product does a pretty nice general sweep and mop. I don’t have carpeting though except area rugs with a pretty tight nap. 90% hardwood flooring and why I bought the duo. The cleaner solution for the mop seemed to be obsolete but I’ve read most will do just fine.

It was a Christmas gift for a friend
A year later we’ve blown through one motor and two blades that create the suction the suction power in this ,It’s so strong self-destructs you got to the point where we had the 3-D print our own parts because the warranty replacement parts weren’t strong enough other than that I’m sure we got a abnormal unit but still recommend it. Does a pretty good job.

*****DO NOT BUY****
It should be 0 stars but that is not an option. This is the biggest waste of money I have ever bought. The mop works OK. Not great but it keeps working. Now to the vacuum. It is the biggest POS ever. In the last two years I am on my 4th vacuum. It is a good thing I bought the extended warranty (for an extra $200) or else I would be paying for all their junk. The blowers on these vacuums are an engineering failure and they don’t seen to care. Customer support (from India) is ok, but after 8 call to them in 2 years I have had enough. **** DO NOT BUY****

DO NOT BUY THIS JUNK!
I regret ever purchasing the iRobot Roomba S9+. For $1,100, I expected a premium product, but instead, I got an unreliable, discontinued vacuum with terrible customer support. Less than a year after purchase, I had to replace the bumper, and just over a year later, it started malfunctioning AGAIN, thinking it’s stuck on a ledge and refusing to work. To make things worse, iRobot offers only a 1-year warranty, which is absurd for a product this expensive. Now I’m stuck with a $1,100 piece of junk, and the company wants $300 for repairs or $100 as a trade-in. The S9+ isn’t even available for purchase anymore, which tells you everything you need to know about its longevity. Save yourself the frustration and money—DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. I’ll never recommend iRobot to anyone again.

DO NOT BUY
We bought the IRobot in 2022. Since that time we had it replaced because it was not charging. But this year the wheels stopped working, we contacted the company to ask them about replacement parts and what we could do. They told us that we need a new robot and they did not offer any help. We sent several emails back and forth to company and got AI responses. Clearly customer service is not a concern. They also mentioned they no longer make the product and cannot do anything to support us. I would definitely take your money and time elsewhere. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

NEVER PURCHASE
We purchased the s9 and it was a problem out of the box. Would not re load itself on the docking bay. Sent it off and got warrantied got the new one same problem. Been through 4 of the things and finally had enough of sending it to roomba. I will by a new vacuum bot but it will not be a roomba.

The best thing ever!
As a mom of five kitties I can’t be more appreciative of my two robots. I have them set up to vacuum and mop every day. Keeps the fur to a minimum. I named my robots Tank and Squirt. Tank sometimes moves my dining room chairs around. That’s how strong this thing is. Finding replacement parts as they eventually wear is relatively easy. I highly recommend this product as it helps keep things under control if you have pets.

Worked for 18 months then it’s dead
The robot is pretty expensive and worked okay for it’s life. About 18 months after purchase it started getting a “error 9” about the front bumper being stuck. This apparently is unfixable per the customer service rep. They do not offer repairs, and do not sell internal part replacements. They offered me $100 off a new Roomba. Atrocious customer service for the staggering cost of this thing. Tried replacing the front bumper off eBay and had the same error. When it worked it was okay, it took awhile to learn my house layout, once it did it was pretty good… But it has surprisingly strong drive motors and would knock end tables over if they caught on the robot just right where it didn’t trigger a bumper, or where it backed into things after getting confused. For the price, you really roll the dice that it won’t randomly just die after the warranty and be a several hundred dollars paper weight.
Yarisa Calvillo –
iRobot products not worth it.
I purchased the Roomba and Braava (May 2023) and within a year the Roomba’s charging base stopped working. Two months later the Braava started prompting an error with the tank. Now the Braava will not start despite multiple attempts to reset it. It’s very disappointing!!!!

Don’t buy the m6!! Please listen to me! Before It’s too late.
The m6 mop is absolute trash. Sure it works occaisonally, but get ready for frequent errors due to both hardware and software design. If the mop gets too wet, it can’t dock itself because the mop is in the way. And it regularly cannot figure out where it is. Resetting help…sometimes. So does doing a mapping run…but in order to do that make sure the entire house is picked up and everything is out of the way. Avoid the Roomba, you deserve better!

Amazon needs to appropriately label their used items.
I purchased this combo “used, like new” from Amazon. Amazon’s description of “used – like new” is “Looks and functions as if it were new. Packaging shows minimal signs of wear, consistent with being opened.” It absolutely did not show up like this. It showed up fairly dinged up and not in the original packaging. It was essentially just thrown into a larger box. What showed up is closer to the description of ” Used – Very Good.” On top of that, it was broken out of the box. It did not work and kept giving an “error 9.” That means that something is wrong with the bumper. This is likely why the item was returned to begin with. There was nothing that I could do to make it work. After spending more than an hour attempting to fix, reboot, and talking to customer support, the only option that I’ve been given is to return it. It’s just frustrating in general. I know that I didn’t purchase it new, but this is still a purchase of several hundred dollars. I was really looking forward to it.
