If you have a pet or family member with long hair, the rotating sweepers MUST be cleaned after every use or the accumulation of hair around the axle interferes with the machine. This accumulation of hair is what destroyed my first Roomba.

How I received product!
My prior roomba broke and wanted to upgrade with a NEW roomba. Waited a couple of days to get it and was excited. This is how I got It in the package. I really wanted to love this product. So far, I’ve used it 4 times. But: – one of the little brushes broke the 3rd time – see picture – 3 times out of 4, it never went back to the charging station – the one time it went back to the charging station, I realized a couple days later I couldn’t use it because it was completely out of juice. It didn’t align perfectly with the charging pad so it died slowly. I had to realign it to charge it before I could use it again. – the map it created of my house is highly inaccurate Anyway, I was super excited to use it and now I am really disappointed. Will switch to Shark since the reviews seem to be better for a lower price.

Roomba’s Last Chance
This is the third Roomba I’ve owned. The first one would leave the base, and either strangle itself on its own power cord, or immediately proceed to the couch and wedge itself underneath. We gave up on that one, and tried a new one years later. The second one would drive off and find a place to hide for the day. Every day coming home from work we would play “find the Roomba,” until the last time it hid after running through dog poop and leaving a trail. This one promises not to run through dog poop, so I opted to try one more time. And finally, this one has been wonderful! It mapped the house rather than just crashing its way around a random path like it was drunk. It has yet to get lost or trapped on anything in the house. As a bonus, it sends me photos every day of the obstacles, which are almost always startled dogs jumping out of the way. The only deficit is that the basin is small, so it was always getting full and returning to base before finishing. I added the Clean Base, and now it’s fully autonomous. We only have Apple devices, so I can’t speak to Alexa integration, but the app is excellent and it does add Siri Shortcuts. I’ve gone from a Roomba basher to a Roomba fan due to this device.

Biggest waste of money
I have been wanting a roomba for years. I finally bought this one to help assist me with vacuuming but its just not worth the money. Its always stopping asking to clean the bin and the bin is empty or was just cleaned. It does not start when scheduled. Bought it brand new and only worked for about a week. It does not vacuum well and mapping it to my home was a pain. Lesson learned.

Doesn’t Get Stuck
Finally…a robot that works! After returning a Dream Tec, ( avoided carpet and always stuck) a Shark AI Ultra (battery didn’t last 30 minues) , a Roborock Q7 (avoided carpet and always stuck) , a Coredy SL200, (avoided carpet and always stuck) A Robot Roomba 694, (dumb – ran willy nilly like the 5 year old Roomba) and a Lubluelu (which constantly required getting a paperclip to poke in the “reset hole”) ; this Intelligent Robot actually goes over carpet without getting stuck, battery lasts for over an hour and it returns to charge and then finishes the job. It cleans as good as my 5 year old Roomba 800, but instead of going “willy nilly” bumping into everything, this Robot J6 (but marked as a J7), cleans in rows and picks up a lot of dirt. Although some reviews states it needs “light”, I haven’t had a problem, even when its cloudy outside. Finally! a Keeper

I have cats. My cats run from the regular vacuum. I don’t want to terrorize them by vacuuming every few days, but I need to because of their shedding. But, I don’t really want to vacuum all the time either. This robot vacuum is a great solution! I can do other things, the vacuum does all the work, and as an added bonus, the cats LOVE stalking it as it moves through the house!! So it’s a cat enrichment toy too! The pictures the vacuum send me of “obstacles ” are usually goofy pictures of a cat getting in its way, so that’s another bonus, lol! I still do a weekly vacuum with my upright vacuum as it is more powerful. That goes much faster now because there is significantly less cat fur on the carpet thanks to the roomba. I love this thing!

I have had a number of Roombas and while not inexpensive, they do the job. I wanted one that was not overloaded with features–good cleaning and dependability was what is most important to me. My only caution is that sometimes it is a pain getting it to ‘line up” with the power source; however,, without doing anything special, it usually finds its way back to power source “on its own.”

Best pet hair picker upper
The J5 combo is not my first irobot roomba. I have a roomba 650 that I purchased is 2013 and it is still going strong. Having that experience I was sure I would be happy with the J5 combo. I am very happy with it so far. I have only had it for 8 days but have used it every day since it arrived. I have 3 dogs (2 are very heavy shedders). I have not found any battery operated stick vacuums that come close to doing as good a job as the roombas for pet hair. They never get jammed up with hair like the stick vaccuums. They let you know if the dust bin gets full before completing the job. I have vinyl plank flooring throughout the house and a few small throw rugs. I find the mopping feature ideal for my floors. I use it almost everyday and it is like damp mopping the floor. Never saturating it but still getting it clean. With 3 dogs tracking in mud and dirt it does an excellent job of keeping my floors looking good if used every day. I do have a hard time getting the j5 seated correctly on the charger if I stop it somewhere and pick it up and move it to the base. However when it returns to the base on its own it seats itself good. My roomba 650 has a docking button and a spot cleaning button that I wish the J5 combo had, but that is very minor. The j5 app for my android phone was very easy to set up.

J5 – Mop feature does not work on porcelain tile
The media could not be loaded. The mop feature is mainly a gimmick in the J5 combo. The main problem I had is that the robot just spins in the wet tile, so it can’t complete the work. See video. In addition to that, the liquid compartment is too small, so it will work only if you have a small area to mop. They should clearly advertise the expected coverage area for mopping. The vacuum feature works well, so I’m leaving at 2 stars instead of 1.

This vacuum does fine with pet hair, keeps our laminate floor clean enough, and the phone interface is fine. However, it can’t avoid obstacles until they’re solid enough for the bumper to compress. If we don’t pick up cords before running it, we’ll eventually have to pick the robot up and move it. It hasn’t been tested with pet waste yet, but I’m skeptical. We mostly run the vacuum while we’re around, because it can’t handle being on its own.

Indicaba que estaba baja de batería y debía volver al centro de carga y un error no la dejaba llegar, la ubiqué manualmente para dejarla cargando y al otro día no funcionó más. Seguí las instrucciones del fabricante para reiniciarla y definitivamente nunca prendió. Muy mala experiencia con esta máquina. El servicio de amazon muy diligente la recogió al siguiente día. Estoy a la espera del reembolso que al parecer tomará más de un mes.

hard to get connected to wifi or phone. dirt gets around the rubber gaskets. must clean unit very well after each cleaning. Small dirt cup, so probably best to get self dump. But still dust will get thrown around. Better to vacuum with human and hepa filter.

Doesn’t work properly.
This thing isn’t worth the money. It doesn’t map, runs over cords, goes over the same area a dozen times, won’t cross even ver low thresholds, mops your carpet. It puts out way too much water and gets stuck very easily.

Too Expensive for what it doesn’t do
This was ok when aI first got it but then it wouldn’t pick anything up or if it did, it got stuck in the shoot and wouldn’t go into the bin. It only has 1 brush. For the price, it’s not worth it and I should have returned it after seeing it had only 1 brush and the dirt was getting stuck.

I bought this for the second level of my home. I already have a 900 series Roomba which I love. This one had difficulty starting. It kept returning home and doing nothing. I reset the vacuum and it started cleaning. The cleaning path’s behavior is very different to my 900 series. The j5 spent significantly less time than my 900 usually does. I turned on the 900 series after my j5 was done to see if it would pick more dust. I must say the j5 did a very good job. Pros: – Not so loud as the 900 series – Faster sync with mobile app – Avoids cables on the floor Cons: – Didn’t have a good start and kept returning home. – Home, Clean and Location options are integrated into a single button. Other Roombas have one button for each option. – Does a weird sound when it turns. – LOUD!!! Is this product safe for ears?

Long Hair, even pet hair, will get wrapped around everything
If you have a pet or family member with long hair, the rotating sweepers MUST be cleaned after every use or the accumulation of hair around the axle interferes with the machine. This accumulation of hair is what destroyed my first Roomba.

The worse
The media could not be loaded. I was very happy the first 2 times I used it . But today was a total let down . I have a new plush rug in my bedroom and I guess it had quite a lot of lint but the vacuum made it look worse then before it started . Condensed the lint & brought it around the bedroom without sucking it . The pictures are equivalent to a 1000 words . Of course I’m not trying to get it fixed now if it’s already messing up after 3 usage . Never had the time to try the mop since it was that new . I doubt very much if I’ll get the same model . Here we go for more research ..

I bought this as a refurb and it works just as well as my brand new one I had before it was disabled by water. So I saved a bunch and got a “almost new” replacement. We are happy with it.

Amazing quality and cleaning.
Loved the i7. The amount of time it saved me by sweeping paid for itself by leaps and bounds. The virtual fences it allows you to setup are great and its quality of cleaning is very thorough and fast. The only downside I had with this vacuum is we owned it for about two or three years and the battery started to crap out. I tried replacing it but it never worked right again and eventually I bought the i5 (nowhere near as good). In hindsight I should have paid the 150$ to send it to roomba and have it fixed.

Vacuuming is good but mopping still have to see
I have the 900 series and it is still working. I wanted the combo with mop feature since I am tired of doing it manually. The J5 is good. It is smarter since it goes around my chairs’ legs pretty well. I wanted to try the mop feature but I got an error that the dust bin full. Huh? I followed all instructions and placed Bona hardwood solution into the bin. I’ve called customer support and will have to wait for them to call me back tomorrow since she couldn’t figure it out. I might have to return the whole thing if the problem is with robot or mop bin.

Loud Crunching Grinding Noise Day 2 of New i7
The media could not be loaded. The loud noise from my brand new i7 was completely unexpected. It cleans as well as our old i3, but the racket it makes is very annoying. I searched Google for reported noise issues and the results I got were about dry pet food getting stuck — definitely not the case here. It has a defective motor that grinds loudly most of the time. The unit couldn’t have been tested at the factory without someone noticing.

After less than 3 months of one e a week use, this machine stopped to work. Error 26. Replaced the filter, rebooted and nothing. It says is the head cleaning unit. Called support and I have been waiting for 20 minutes on the phone to try to talk to customer support.

A piece of junk. Box is damaged, roomba is damaged and it is filthy. If I’d known how dirty it was I would have opened it in my garage, not my house. Poor product for the price
The product would not operate properly. Set up exactly as directions required, it mapped the house first time then would never operate as scheduled again. Kept showing error #26. Cleaned as directed put in new filter still wouldn’t operate.

Doesn’t work with clean base
I needed to replace my i7 and this one said it works with the clean base. It does not. It doesn’t have the portal for the base to suck the dirt through. It is obviously a different model. Plus I was out $58 to return it and it wasn’t my mistake. Very unhappy customer. My original i7 worked beautifully, only wish they would last longer. Mine lasted 3 years of 5x a week use. Picked up very fine dust as well as all the cat hair.

Need to hand vacuum after it’s done cleaning
My first Roomba was amazing. This Roomba is horrible. It bangs really hard into objects since I bought it. They changed trash bin design for worse, they cheapened the assembly that you lift to remove rollers so when you have to remove them the plastic falls on your hands when you try to get them out. The old one had a nice closing solid piece that would lay back when you worked on it. My last Roomba still works with a new battery so I still use it. In summary I won’t buy Roombas anymore.I highly suggest to try another brand. Sometimes it will bang into an object about six times before turning around.

USELESS!!
I wanted to love this thing so badly. It’s just awful. I can’t use it on my carpets for dog hair. It just leaves clumps of hair behind. I try to set it to run every morning and it has literally never once finished a job. It’s always stuck on something or just malfunctioning. The biggest waste of money I have ever spent.
