Lydia J. Walk found the Roomba to be a necessity with “2 big dogs, 2 kids and a cat”, emphasizing its effectiveness in maintaining cleanliness despite having pets and children.

A time saver. Does a great job.
I read the reviews and decided to still get the product. Just like the other reviews said this product was noisy which i didn’t mind. It also was a problem connecting to the wifi. I called tech support and got it done. But the 1 problem i had that wasn’t expecting was with the charging. I set it to vacuum every other day but it died after 1 hour of cleaning although it was docked for almost 48 hours. I will pay attention to the charging and return it if that happens again.

Entertaining
I thought this device has room mapping, it doesn’t. It is great otherwise. At least one strip of carpet is extremely clean, as it will go over the same spot multiple times while ignoring other areas.

Pros and cons
I am very pleased with the long battery life but disappointed in the post job cleaning experience. Trying to get it cleaned out after it’s done is a nightmare! Clearly they didn’t think this through. There’s just enough space for hair and other things to get wrapped around the ends but no way to get them out without tweezers, if that! Very frustrating!!

Mediocre Vacuum
Setup via the app had a glitch and vacuum had to be reset and app reinstalled before I could get it up and running. The vacuum suction is quite moderate and doesn’t do a great job but the it sure saves time from having to manually clean. The app has good conveniences like setting up recurring schedules.

Finally bought one on sale, glad I did
Been eyeing getting one of these for a while. When it hit $159 we bought it. If you are not messy and have a lot of floor space to cover then this is for you. Perfect for pet hair and the little things that accumulate.

Worst experience with a robot vacuum
I’ve owned a robot vacuum from OKP Life and thought I’d transition to an official brand like the iRobot Roomba. This vacuum refused to cooperate right from the beginning. The app threw an error that my “network subnet mask is too big” and I had to adjust it from 255.255.252.0 to 255.255.255.0 . Even after that, I ran into an issue where the vacuum could communicate with the app on the LAN, but it could not reach the cloud. The app refuses to let you control the vacuum if it can’t reach the cloud. The diagnostics are terrible, it simply said “server unreachable” without specifying what Web address it was trying to reach. It wasn’t a firewall issue since I have over 2 dozen Google, Ring, and another robot vacuum IoTs that function just fine while using my Deco’s UPNP firewall configuration. To put it simply, I’m taking good care of my OKP Life robot vacuum. I’m extremely disappointed in how iRobot is supposed to have more notoriety than the competition but it couldn’t even do a simple thing like work with any subnet other than 255, or even reach out to its cloud server.

Rumba
It’s plugged in and charged but I have not had the chance to use it yet as I understand I need to pick everything up off the floors except the furniture for it to get a pattern and I’m unable to do that right now

Needs slow Wi-Fi
If your internet provider only offers up-to-date wi-fi speeds, you probably won’t be able to go remote. Get a newer model.
Suzanne –
It was supposed to be new
This was supposed to be brand new. The box had been ripped but it was taped up. The vacuum itself the battery tab was removed. The vacuum had a little dust on it. Otherwise, it works ok so far. It was supposed to have been new so this was disappointing.

Good on thick shag
Better and quieter than my 690. No issues at all

Software issues
I was excited to get this product since I live in an apartment with carpet and I have a cat, thought this would make my life easier. The vacuum itself is okay, you’ll get a clean looking apartment, but it’s definitely not meant for deep cleaning. You will still need a regular vacuum and use it at least once a week to actually get your home cleaned up. The main issue I have with the roomba, is actually the app. To put it simply, it sucks. I’ve needed to press the option to vacuum, no kidding, around 17 times for it to actually start. It is much easier to press the “clean” button in the device itself and then manually send it home once it’s ready, than to use the app. It is very frustrating and it defeats the advertisement of “getting a clean home from wherever you are”, because no, the app doesn’t work.

Well worth the money!
I was originally concerned the first time we used it. It kept going over the same areas and I thought it wasn’t going to work. It’s kind of hard to follow and its pattern seems to be quite random. However, it picked up quite a lot of hair from floors and carpets. (We have one cat and each time we use it, the chamber gets filled up with orange cat hair.). After running it a few times, I’ve noticed that although it still seems random, and other times, it will go straight back a hallway and turn on a dime to go into a bathroom, without bumping into anything! Quite impressive! I was also concerned that it might get stuck somewhere, which it has. However when this happens, it realizes that it’s stuck says that there is an error and stops. This has only happened once, but it was nice to know that it shuts off rather than constantly trying to run. Wonderful purchase! Bought on Black Friday sale, but would recommend at the original price as well.

Can’t clean dark rugs
This machine can’t recognize the difference between a black stripe on a rug and a drop, so it turns around. Completely useless, save yourself some trouble and do more research than I did so you don’t have to pull apart and modify your $200 vacuum
Amazon Customer –
Overpriced for what it does
No mapping, no mopping, no manual controls via app, just… a robot that is loud and rolls around randomly. One side brush. It failed to report multiple cleaning sessions and failed to complete two, all within a week. It has been returned. Do not buy this. Go look at a competitor, like Eufy or Shark. Even Eufy has mapping at a lower price point. This thing is just junk.

Keeps my house clean.
I am delighted with this product.

5 year old Shark works better!
I have a 5 year old Shark vacuum that works better than this brand new Roomba! One pass thru carpeted family room and the bristles are clogged with dog hair. It starts going in circles and can’t stop. It suddenly stops halfway thru the room and I have to empty the partway filled canister. It’s supposed to have an 90 minute battery run time, if it lasted 40 minutes I’d be surprised. Ugh! A waste of good money. I bought a new battery for my old Shark and am much happier with the old guy.

Does what it says it does!
I got this on a Black Friday sale and it is perfect for our house. We have a smaller, one story home and Muffin (as we have named her) does a great job. She does not map the house and she is not quiet. But neither is my huge vacuum. We have a dog, preschoolers, and hardwood floors- Muffin helps my sanity. She fits under the couch and chairs. Would I still vacuum with my big gun when we are having lots of people over? Yes. But day to day, Muffin is the best. We have had her for a week and my kids even notice how much better the floors are. Highly recommend if you aren’t looking for all the bells and whistles and just need some help sweeping the floors.

Impressive home vacuum assistant
After reading reviews on all the different robot vacuum cleaners, this is the Roomba I chose. It does a great job picking up hair, dust and light debris on the floor. It’s great to have a “second set of hands” to keep up with cleaning between regular vacuuming and cleaning if you like a super clean home. It doesn’t replace the regular vacuuming with a HEPA vacuum cleaner, but it does do a significant job in between regular cleanings. The dust bin was full each time we have run it. Impressive. It was easy to empty the dust bin and clean the brushes on the base of the cleaner. I do appreciate ease in cleaning. It does well on hardwood floors, tile, as well as wool and sythnetic rugs. It is able to transition over thresholds and even lamp bases. As it is pretty narrow, it slides under the sofa and other furnishings to pickup dust and debris. You can program it to do regular cleanings so if you want the Roomba to clean on Mondays at 9 AM, it will do it or you can have it clean manually. This is available on the phone app. It takes about 90 minutes to clean and then it returns to its charging station. And you can move it floor to floor to clean other levels of the home. It is not super smart as it bumps and finds it way around furniture and other things, but eventually it finds itself out of the location it got into. I’m ok with this as I’ve learned you just need to make space for it to maneuver and get things off the ground before a cleaning session. I don’t need it to map out my location as I prefer privacy over efficiency as my spaces are not huge. Because it can go over thresholds, it can sometimes get caught up on the base of our stools which is a metal, wire base. This is where the Roomba signals defeat and it sends an alert on your phone. It is a bit loud as you can hear it vacuuming through the house, but if you’re on a different level and you shut your door while working, it is hardly noticeable. Overall, I’m happy with this Roomba. It’s cost effective and helps around the house. Who doesn’t want some help?

Works okay
Overall it works well. It seems to die a lot instead of returning to charge. It worked perfectly for a week or so then stopped returning home. At least it vacuums before it dies.
Pleased –
Worth the price
It did a decent job of vacuuming, It wasn’t too loud. Only got stuck once.

Loud
It works well however it is loud. The app fails at times as well.

Good for the money
Got my roomba 3 days ago. For the price, this is well worth it. I have a very busy schedule with minimal time to clean when I am home. I’ve ran it 4 times and notice a huge difference in the cleanliness of my floors. This model does NOT have the mapping feature, so it just kind of aimlessly bounces around the house. Does seem to struggle and get stuck in tight spaces, and takes it a while to find its way out. Also struggles to get back to the base when it’s done with a full 90 minute clean, especially if it’s in a different room from the base at the end of the cycle. Knowing what I know now, I probably would have spent the extra $70-100 and got a model with mapping. But, for what it is, I am satisfied.
I Harris –
Previously used product
I opened the box and the iRobot was clearly used. It came with no instruction manual and hair and dust all over the bottom and in the vacuum opening. The wheels were scuffed. I returned and ordered from iRobot directly for the same price. The new one came with a filter, a manual, and plastic covering the vacuum which the original one did not. I did not pay for a used product!
Alec Donaldson –
Good Overall
Does a good job, sometimes it gets stuck in rooms for long periods of time until the battery gets close to dying is my only complaint

Error WF0C07/WR0C07 During Setup With Fix
I have a bachelor’s degree in cyber security, multiple expert level certifications in the field, and build my own computers all the time. Needless to say, I know a thing or two about technology and Wi-Fi (I legally hack it for a living). I initially could not get the device connected to my Wi-Fi and the WF0C07 error code appeared every time during set up (version 7.10 of the iOS app) after the “connecting to the cloud” message. The wireless network was operating on a 2.4 GHz band, password was correct, and every other wireless device in my home was working flawlessly on the Wi-Fi (have tons of IoT devices – smart plugs/lights of different brands, Amazon dots/echos/pops, Ring doorbell/cams, etc.). I was super close to the router so I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the application multiple times. Tried rebooting my phone multiple times. Tried resetting the Roomba multiple times. Tried resetting my firewall/router multiple times. Everything else seemed to have Internet access just fine. Hey Roomba, what is the purpose of displaying error codes if there is absolutely no documentation on these error codes and what they mean? I scraped the internet and couldn’t find a single source on the Internet describing what these error codes are caused by. When the application was in a continuous loop after failing set up, I got this message saying that I should check the Wi-Fi password for invalid characters. I thought to myself that is strange because according to the WPA2 protocol, there is no such thing as invalid characters in a WPA2 password, and all ASCII characters are allowed with the password length limits being a password from 8-63 characters long. You can find this information anywhere on the Internet, and it is all factual information regarding the WPA2 security protocol. If there was an issue with the password, the router would say so when I tried to set it on the router. So I removed all special characters from my Wi-Fi password and continued trying. This time I got the WR0C07 error code after trying set up. My next guess was that the application was complaining about the length of my Wi-Fi password because it was complaining about special characters previously and is pretty long (50 characters) although the application didn’t say anything about the length and I couldn’t find any documentation from Roomba about this error code on the Internet. So I kept making my Wi-Fi password shorter and shorter without special characters until it finally hit 30 characters and the set up worked. This product and application now presents a security risk, forcing individuals to compromise the security of their home Wi-Fi in order to be granted compatibility with the application and device. The confusing part is that the wireless protocol the router is using (WPA2) does not have these limitations surrounding passwords, so this is all Roomba that is doing this. As I mentioned, I have tons of IoT devices in my home from different brands, and none of them have this issue. They really need to step up their game as these are pretty bad development practices for 2023. I shouldn’t have to change my Wi-Fi password in order to use the device and it should seamlessly be able to work with the protocol it advertises itself to support (WPA2). I wasted an entire day of my life and valuable time debugging this issue and trying to figure this all out. I also had to go through the process of resetting/setting up all of my smart devices all over again because I had to change my Wi-Fi password in order to get this device and it’s iOS application to set up/work. Do better Roomba.
Patrick Flick –
Terrible
Next to no instructions included in the box. No QR code on device as stated in the skimpy instructions. Which control app to download not specified. Going back tomorrow. Lofe’s too short for this.
Sandra –
It broke in less than a year
My iRobot worked really well for almost a year. I had to change some parts during that time, but that’s part of maintenance. In less than a year, I had to throw it away. I bought a second one thinking that I had probably purchased a lemon the first time, and it last less than a month. This time I was able to return it.
Stephen Mertes –
Not ideal for levels with many rooms.
Our home was built pre-open floor design in1930 and the first floor is divided up into 6 different rooms. Unit has a hard time finding its was into them all and actually cleaning them. The three bigger rooms close to where the unit is parked it does pretty good in, I’d say it gets 95% of the floor space cleaned in those rooms. Our 2 yr old daughters bedroom and our master bedroom are on the first floor as well and the unit barely makes it into those, and when it does it seems to get turned around and heads right back out of the door and doesnt find its way back in again. I have “steered” it into those rooms before by tapping the sensors and kept turning it until it goes into them, but the problem with that is our daughter is terrified of it so we generally only run it when nobody is home during the day so thats rarely an option for us. It’s not overly loud by any means I don’t think she just isn’t a fan of any noise that isn’t a Shrek movie! It’s def not as loud as the corded Shark or the cordless Dyson we have and she is terrified of those as well. We also haveb2 boys and a 95 lb dog living here. So the main reason for buying it was so my gf didnt have to a vacuum 3 times a week and scare our daughter with them… A house with larger open rooms I’m sure it would work better for. The rooms it does stay in it does clean pretty good in. And the wifi feature is really nice to start it when we aren’t home. The other complaint I have is because of the amount of rooms and limited ways in and out of them the unit only finds its way back to the charger like maybe half the time before it dies. The other half we find it dead in a room someplace and have to carry it back to the docking station. Kind of minor but kind of annoying. It does run continuously for almost exactly an hour and a half before it runs out of juice so they are right on with that claim. Overall for the money it does clean really well and in general I’m happy with the purchase because it does do a pretty good job in the rooms where most of the foot and paw traffic is. If you have a house with a lot of rooms like ours though you might want to look into one that has mapping capabilities so it’s sure to clean each room and finds its way home when it needs to charge. If I had a house with only a couple large areas it needed to clean I would def have given this unit 4 stars, maybe even 5.
Kathryn –
The damn thing
The damn thing won’t charge, thus, it is not doing what it was supposed to do. It’s worthless.

Not very smart Doesnt Clean Well
Doesnt clean super well. Takes forever to clean an entire room. Will go over one area multiple times and skip other areas completely. Filter needs cleaned everyday.
Gokul –
Not useful for big spaces
Lost vacuum that gets stuck in a corner or vacuums a space over and over leaving the rest of the house. Cannot select dirty areas or rooms where I need it the most. Cannot work on it if the carpet is slightly thick. Struggles to even find its home after vacuuming.
Rick Richardson –
iRobot iThrilled
Works so incredibly well our hardwood tile and carpet. Works seamlessly with Alexa, and believe me when I tell you the little robot vacuum cleaner puts the intelligence right into AI. Wicked quiet and great suction capabilities. Recommend this as someone’s very first Roomba. ❤️
Amanda Mitrani –
No mapping system = useless
The media could not be loaded. This model does not have a system that eventually learns where obstacles are, making it the most inefficient sweeper imaginable. 5 hours blindly bumping into everything to get 25% of the floor clean and take 22 minutes to ‘return home’ after being instructed to do so when it was 4 feet away from its charger. Huge waste of money, I can hire a lazy teenager to do a better job.
Anna Aleynick –
It works so nice! Everyone loves it.
1. Roomba 694 works great. It took some time connecting to wi-fi, but after that – it is wonderful. One charge is good for 3-4 hours of cleaning time. 2. Amazon box was re-taped. It looks that from return. The iRobot box was original.
John S. –
Lasted a little under 2 years.
It worked relatively well while it lasted. Needed a couple of basic repairs but the final straw happened recently that we can no longer fix. Lasted just under 2 years. It’s also really loud. I’m not sure if I would recommend this model.

Works Pretty Good
Reluctant to connect to WiFi after all the articles about hackers entering home networks through appliances’ connections. For now, just pushing start button.
John W. Frees –
Out of box, does not work
IRobot’s quality control needs some serious attention. Brand new unit, fully charged, proceeded to go around in circles, throwing error codes. Called tech support — they had me take the danged thing apart! Couldn’t fix it. Sent back. All this could have been prevented at the factory with minimal QA! Sad. Do not recommend.
Chris –
Works great
Just came a couple of days ago and it’s shockingly great. I didn’t notice when purchasing that it didn’t have the mapping, I was going to return it and get one that did but I decided to try it anyways and I love it. It’s goofy, knocks around pretty randomly but at the end of the 90 minutes it manages to clean my living room and kitchen (approx 1,500 sqft) getting Almost every spot! The other models have much more maintenance than this which can be a pain.
Steve –
Great product for everyday cleaning
I now have 2 of these and will be adding a 3rd. Great for everyday cleaning. I have mine set for 2AM and 2PM just to keep the carpets looking clean with a 6yr old in the house.

Great product, cleans very well. The unit has trouble finding the charging base for some reason.
Great product and does a great job, but has trouble finding the charging base and we have almost no furniture in the house since we remodeled. Cleans the dog hair off the floor, but I would recommend that you clean the filter and collection bin every day after each use to help prolong the life of the unit.

Disappointed
This is my fourth Roomba, and I’ve been happy with the other three for the most part. The main thing I don’t like is there is no handle to carry it or pick it up off of the ground. Why would they take that off? I’ve never had much success with using Wi-Fi so I don’t use it, and I haven’t bought the expensive Roombas.

Don’t waste your money
This is my 4th different robot vacuum. I decided to try out the roomba this time around . To be honest it’s the worst one of them all . Pricing ranging from $75-$350 , this vacuum definitely takes the cake for the worst of them all . It gets stuck everywhere with 1/4 rugs (not shaggy) Runs into everything .constantly is getting stuck under tables and all over the house . This thing is a piece of junk and was very disappointed in iRobot

Threw it away
Wouldn’t stay connected to the app. Even after a software update, didn’t stay connected. I needed to re-add the product every single time I used it or wanted to modify a setting. The consensus on the web was to contact support for a replacement or additional troubleshooting. Not worth the time. Ended up tossing it.

Strong performance
I have a 694 and a J7+. The 694 is manual empty bin and the j7+ automatic empty. The j7 is quieter, and of course more intelligent once it builds an accurate map, but the 694 works very well for a bump unit and is a much faster vacuum overall, finishing my house in half the time the j7 takes. Both work excellent and if you don’t mind picking up cords, etc., and emptying the bin, the 694 is the better value.

Buen funcionamiento.
Trabaja bien en piso y alfombra. Es ruidosa, pero aceptable.

Does the job
A good little vacuum but missing some features we’d like such as room mapping. We had to babysit this one quite a bit when running as it would spend 20 min in one small area and miss entire rooms/areas of our home. Battery life was decent and it did pick up quite a bit of dirt out of our thick carpet! It also SLAMS hard into objects and corners of walls

Great price
This unit is very loud, something I didn’t consider. Also it doesn’t “map” out the house , it just bumps and goes. It will bump into your feet and animals. Since it doesn’t map is doesn’t cover all areas all the time it’s more hit and miss.

Wi-Fi connectivity did not work
I was really excited to have a Roomba. Unfortunately, I could not connect the Roomba with the iRobot App. There was no QR code to scan and I couldn’t find the device when I looked at it manually. Also, the Roomba is extremely noisy. It cleaned okay, but not as I expected.
