For years I have always purchased my vacuum’s based on “price”. For some reason I felt the more expensive vacuum was better quality I I WAS ABSOLUTELY WRONG !!!! – – It took this purchase of the Bissell® CleanView Swivel Vacuum to proved to me price means NOTHING. It is expertly designed – very easy to use – to empty – to clear the hose of blocks. All the parts click into place perfectly. The suction is unbelievably strong and the hose is nice and long so I can reach up to the ceiling with no problems. I THINK BISSELL DESERVES A THUMBS UP FOR THIS ONE !!!!!
I bought this in September 2024, and the drive belt broke in January 2025. Drive belts and filters are not covered under warranty. Given that these are prone to break, you would think the design would facilitate replacement – but no. Rather than a simple system without screws, you have to remove 7 screws to get to the brush area. In my case, dog hair had built up underneath the belt cover and eventually broke the drive belt. In the picture, the lime green plastic cover on the left is where the belt is. Note that you would have to remove the cover screws to clean the brush or even to simply check for dog hair build up. I bet the screws aren’t under warranty either, since stripping them is all too likely. Otherwise, I love how good a job this does pulling up Golden Retriever fur off the carpet. It is a shame none of the product designers considered whether it is simple to maintain.

I brought this vacuum because my old BISSELL vacuum stopped working. I had that vacuum for a lot of years, so when it came time to get a new one it was a no brainer. Everything about it was impressive, easy to put together and great suction. But unless I misread it didn’t understand something somewhere I noticed there is a switch that goes from 1 to 4 but when I first used it it smelt of burnt rubber and plastic. I was confused. When I checked the belt it was melted and the plastic was shredded. I just have 4 cats and it couldn’t of been clogged from that. I will get a new one and see how it goes, cause I actually liked this vacuum and the features it has.

Easy to Empty & Suction
Love this thing. Fought a Hoover Wind Tunnel for 10 years, extremely hard to empty & put back together. Bought this sweet Bissell 2252 and absolutely love it. So easy to dump the container: push a button, hold it over the trash, push another button. Snaps back in without problem. Suction is POWERFUL. Seems strange for a somewhat inexpensive machine but it is great. I don’t have stairs but it would be easy to use on stairs. Doesn’t weigh too much and tilts. Another +++++ the LONG cord. Great. With an extension cord this goes all over a 2200 sq ft house without having to unplug and move the cord. If it dies, I’ll buy it again. Should have years ago. Also, good instructions & attachments.

Good suction but sucky attachments
I have 11 animals inside my house and this vacuum does pick up the hair. The wand is way too short to be helpful in reaching stairs and the cord is short. The swivel option is ok but not as helpful as I thought it might be. For the money I spent, it’s worth it.

The brush does not stop turning when locked in the upright position, this is a basic function of any upright vacuum. It should be priced around $90 instead of $200.

First- I will say that we keep a clean house. We have two cats. One tabby with minimal hair loss and one tuxedo with a lot of hair loss. We’re constantly vacuuming and “thought” our Panasonic canister was doing a good job. Today we used our new upright and holy moly were we surprised! We went over our carpeted and hardwood floors. The picture tells the tale. As embarrassing as this is- take a look at the hair! Our house appeared so clean, but it surely wasn’t! It will be now! Great suction and ease of use. Highly recommend! And- ridiculous in the best way possible.

This was so easy to put together for starters. The first attachment I used was for pet hair on my sectional, super duper suction. Dog hair on my hard wood floors, amazing, swivel action, I had no idea. Price amazing!!!! Attachments and extra long hose, super duper. It is a bit heavier than my cheap bissell I have been getting at Walmart, but you can’t beat the features, and the cord is heavier duty, and longer. Best purchase of 2024!!! Cheap Quality…
Bought this Bissel in May of 2022. It just died yesterday, June 27 2024. I must say that every Bissel we have purchased in the last 25 years have all broke in the first 2 years. We used it once or twice a week for the last 2 years, and when it worked it was a decent vacuum. All of a sudden it started breaking belts and getting louder when using it. So over the last 8 months I replaced 4 belts. Then, it finally started dying after installing the 4th belt and I tossed it in the trash today. One of the annoy features is the hose for using the wand, it has ALOT of tension when you pull on it. So when cleaning stairs it usually is to tight that it will actually pull the vacuum twards you. So id does not reach very far and you get the vacuum coming at you. Our best friends (who actually recommended this vacuum to us) got a concussion from the machine while she was doing her stairs. The vacuum hit her so hard in her head that she went to the ER! The next 3 weeks she was in alot of pain. My advice is to avoid this, were going back to Dyson.

Four days ago my Shark $250+, 3-year-old, lift-away upright died just as I finished vacuuming 600 square feet of medium/high pile. I immediately checked Amazon, looking for a reasonably priced, not too heavy, highly recommended replacement. This machine appeared at the top of the page and met all of my requirements, except it’s especially designed for pet hair – and I don’t have a pet. Then it occurred to me that as a sewer and quiltmaker, I do have thread – a lot of thread – that finds its way to the floor. So, I placed the order and it arrived on Thursday. I immediately put it to use, re-vacuuming my 600 square feet of carpet. As you can see, it picked up half a canister of debris! And it took only minutes to put together and get started. On top of all that, it weighs only 12.5 bounds compared to my old Shark, which comes in at 18.5 pounds. I could not be more pleased, and now I have really clean floors.

Got this because of a dog that sheds big time twice a year, and sheds all year but less dramatic; Shiba Inu. Powerful suction, adjustable carpet/flooring levels. I was astounded at how well it picks up. First time I used it on kitchen area rug, it looked like a new rug again, no exaggeration. My own hair is over 20 inches long and this vacuum handles it without having to routinely cut long hair off of the beater bars. The very large, clear collection cannister is awesome and I can vacuum half a room before I need to empty it. This vacuum puts my previous 2 vacuums to shame. I use the crevice/corner gadget to dust the base boards too, it works better than my Swiffer duster for that chore. Emptying the cannister is super easy and doesn’t create a nasty dust cloud. I highly recommend this vacuum.

My Dyson could never! The review you didn’t know you needed…
Ok- so hear me out. I am a Dyson owner- both of the animal ball & the cordless vac. Both served me well for years, until they really didn’t anymore. Suction was always great, however- they are notorious for clogging. To the point of annoyance. We have pets- several cats, and 2 dogs- border collie & a Siberian husky. So you already know the shedding can be intense, especially for the husky several times a year. This vacuum is a GAME CHANGER. I won’t blame my old Dyson for doing a bad job- but this vacuum showed up & ATE it for lunch. We have an antique hand woven rug in our sitting room, (fancy right? lol) and I promise you this rug pulled up dirt from the ancestors. Not even my ancestors- someone’s, but definitely some 1823 dirt. This thing does not play- this is NOT the vacuum to leave around teenage boys, nor the one to stick to your face for laughs. The swivel head is awesome, it maneuvers great, isn’t overly noisy, and on the bare or low rug setting you better be ready to fight for your life if you’re trying to do a small kitchen rug- it almost ate mine for lunch & I’m pretty sure it would have sucked the grout from inbetween the tiles had I let it. The pet attachment albeit smaller- is also quite impressive. I have tile floors, vinyl plank floors & large area rugs. Along with a few smaller space rugs. It’s done awesome on all of them- just remember to adjust when needed. DO NOT PASS UP on this vacuum. Seriously, you cannot beat the price for the performance! I also got a Febreeze filter for it & it smells awesome when I vacuum. Stop reading and buy it!

Easy to remove the pieces and get it cleaned. Has worked great and gets just about every stain. The suction power could be better to get more water out of the carpet but it does great for me. A tad on the heavy side. But the power is good. Overall I am very happy with this purchase.

I’d like to consider myself a budget shopper. Saving where I can, but after a while I grew tired of having to constantly replace my vacuum. I live in an apartment and own one cat. I love her to death but she sheds like crazy. I was recommended this vacuum by a friend and I couldn’t be more happy!!! My old vaccuum would get clogged so much and I’d have to buy a new belt etc. but this was very simple and fast. Just dump and keep on keeping on. This vacuum was made for pet hair. The accessories are worth it as well! No more dust and unable to get into crevices. I love the swivel future and power. It’s lightweight as well— I was able to lift it with one arm when needed.

If you don’t wanna read my whole review, it’s a great vacuum. Gets dust like nobody’s business, easy to use, relatively easy to clean out. Good for carpet and hard surfaces. My initial reaction is WOW. I’ve had a cordless vacuum that I use fairly regularly but I felt like it wasn’t getting as deep of a clean as I wanted so I got this one. The amount of dust this thing sucked up was INSANE. I couldn’t believe all of that was in my carpet this whole time. Definitely recommend for those with allergies. The filters are relatively easy to clean which is another bonus, and while I was skeptical about the brush’s self-untangling feature, I was pleasantly surprised that it actually did. I especially like the two little brushes on the sides of the base because it gets right up to the baseboards and catches bugs. The only negative things I will say is that the vacuum head is quite large so it’s not ideal for getting under or between furniture, and the cord length would not be suitable for larger houses. All in all, I would give this an 8.5/10 with minor personal preferences deducting points.

I had a Shark before this that I loved until I ran it to the ground. This one doesn’t have as much suction as I hoped and doesn’t transition well to other surfaces. For example, I can’t vacuum my rugs without it sucking it up. My old vacuum I could go from different carpet lengths seamlessly. Disappointed.

I vacuum a lot, so therefore have gone through numerous vacuums. I’ve tried the Dyson the Shark; all the big brands and none have worked as well as this one. It was a little squeaky at first, but love the attachments and the swivel wheels. You never know how poor your previous vacuum worked until you use this and see the pet hair it cleans up.
