For years I have always purchased my vacuum’s based on “price”. For some reason I felt the more expensive vacuum was better quality I I WAS ABSOLUTELY WRONG !!!! – – It took this purchase of the Bissell® CleanView Swivel Vacuum to proved to me price means NOTHING. It is expertly designed – very easy to use – to empty – to clear the hose of blocks. All the parts click into place perfectly. The suction is unbelievably strong and the hose is nice and long so I can reach up to the ceiling with no problems. I THINK BISSELL DESERVES A THUMBS UP FOR THIS ONE !!!!!
I bought this in September 2024, and the drive belt broke in January 2025. Drive belts and filters are not covered under warranty. Given that these are prone to break, you would think the design would facilitate replacement – but no. Rather than a simple system without screws, you have to remove 7 screws to get to the brush area. In my case, dog hair had built up underneath the belt cover and eventually broke the drive belt. In the picture, the lime green plastic cover on the left is where the belt is. Note that you would have to remove the cover screws to clean the brush or even to simply check for dog hair build up. I bet the screws aren’t under warranty either, since stripping them is all too likely. Otherwise, I love how good a job this does pulling up Golden Retriever fur off the carpet. It is a shame none of the product designers considered whether it is simple to maintain.

Well, I spent about 4 hours pouring over reviews and videos searching for a good replacement for my um…well…it’s name is FrankenBissell. It was pieced together from the remains of my Bissell and my room mates Bissell, one night after we discovered that some idiot *(not naming names but her exboyfriend James Stockard Jr, at 4687 Willmington Rd Central Heights, Ca) threw away the large plastic internal filter, rendering her vaccuum unusable. I had my old Bissell but the roller brush no longer functioned. So at midnight, fueled with ambition (and a twelve pack of Coors Light™), I proceeded to operate. Success! FrankenBissell lives! My creation…. Is ALIVE! As it was, it worked, but as any monster story goes, it had its drawbacks and limited functionality (should have noticed that part marked Abby Normal). So it was time for a new Vaccuum. One properly created at the factory. After reading the reviews I thought, hmmm, maybe people are exagerating their reviews. Much to my happy surprise , they weren’t. This vaccuum works awesomely. The suction is powerful and the roller pulls up all the hair from our german shepherds. An amazing amount of dirt/dust was lifted out of the carpets. The swivel works terrific to get into hard to reach spaces and the pet attachment has certainly improved over the years, working much better than the three we have accumulated from prior generations of Bissells. It is light and easily carried around with one hand. The canister has an easy to release bottom for super convenient emptying. My only complaint is the shortness of the hose. Though, this is no problem for me, as I modified the hose off Frank for hand tool use. I was going to buy a new hose but the Bissell website is rather difficult when trying to find such an accessory as an extended hose. All in all, this is an awesome vaccuum and the price can’t be beat for one that functions this well. Can’t wait for some years to pass and see what kind of monster this one will become. Decent Vacuum
So far so good. I’ve only used it a handful of times. I took two stars off because when I use it, it smells like rubber is burning or the motor is hot and that was directly out of the package, trying it for the first time. Could be that it’s because it’s the first time it’s being used and just has an odor. I’ll update later. Second reason I took off a star is because when using the hose the brush keeps spinning, once it is in an upright position it should stop like all other vacuums but it doesn’t.

What a waste
I was originally very pleased with how it worked and picked up dog hair. I have had it just weeks and it stopped working. The filter is moving, but the brushes on the bottom just stopped. AND it smells like it is ready to blow up (burning smell). I don’t recommend it for stairs due to the weight and bulkiness. How do I just return it?

Brush roll doesn’t spin
The media could not be loaded. I’m horribly disappointed at this product, it was over $100 and does not even work correctly, I put it together and used it for the first time last night, I pushed it normally it seemed to work, then I attached the Turbo tool and that worked pretty amazing, Then I try to use the vacuum this morning, the brush roll will not turn . I called Bissel’s customer service This morning and they are useless, they wanted me to do a video call with them so that I could follow all of these steps to get it working, I asked her does that really make sense? this is a brand new product that I bought to replace my previous non-working products, I should be able to plug it in and use it ,the day after I need to waste my precious time doing a video call to fix a brand new vacuum??? I don’t hardly think so!

Wondaful for pet hair!
This vacuum is great. All of the attachments are carried on board. It works evenly as well on carpets as tile or laminate flooring. The various height settings make it adapt to the type of carpet. The most amazing thing is that pet hair does not get tangled in the brushes.

Not as great as my Bissell shampooer
Thought this would be a great replacement for my old vac. Nope! Lots of suction but the belt does not last at all. I have only had for three weeks so Amazon is sending me a new one. All the same, I am disappointed because it’s my gas and time to return when it is a faulty product. Bissell is a great brand but they are missing the mark of quality on this particular model

Very light and suction is ok. On that note it has nothing to offer a pet owner. Extender Wand isn’t a quick release, and the one you manually attach is 24 inches and no long hose to boot. (Leaving it useless) My fault for no light, which now I realize how much I love a light, especially on hard floors. It doesn’t go from hard floor to carpet smoothly at all. Also, why not make ALL the attachments fit on the unit. No where to store the corner vacuum head?? You get what you pay for. Would be good for a house with no animals or kids who drop crumbs everywhere. I will be returning and buying replacement parts for my Shark.

crossing fingers. as a side note. my mother still has her old vaccuum from 40 years ago. has a very weird hinged head that turns nicely, but if something heavy starts knocking around, you can’t simply wrist-flip it over to let the offending piece out because of this “weird hinged head” instead you hvae to set it upright quickly then tilt it. minus one star for that.

Horrible and Breaks
This is the worst vacuum ever! I purchased this twice since the first one was shipped to me broken. The bottom of the first one was bent so it was completely out of use. Now the second one won’t spin. We’ve only had this for 1.5 months too. Do not buy! Don’t waste your money. Even when it did work it didn’t work well.

This is a great vacuum and a great price. Very affordable. I used a shark cordless to vacuum my area rugs and bedroom that has carpet.. I decided to try this vacuum after using my shark and I could not believe how much was picked up! It has great suction too. Inexpensive but effective
We had a more expensive Bissell vacuum cleaner that lasted several years. Eventually, it failed and we needed another one. We have a dog that sheds (ALL THE TIME) so something that was good for pet hair was important. It works well for that. I also like the fact it seems to be lighter than the previous model we had. It’s easy to manipulate around furniture in the house also. I like the foot buttons for power and to release it from the upright position. You have 5 height levels depending on how thick your carpet is. It says it can do bare floors but I dunno if it does. We have a “special” sweeper for that… It has a few tools for cleaning and a wand with a hose. Seems to work ok. If the hose was longer or if the tubes were longer it could reach better. Can’t have it all at a bargain price. It doesn’t have a headlight but who vacuums in the dark? Enjoy sweeping with it said no person ever. Who enjoys sweeping? I don’t.

Fantastic vacuum
I am so pleased with this vacuum! It feels substantial but is light at the same time. It has just the right size brush, not too large and not too small so as to be able to fit around and under furniture. I would say it is the perfect size. The suction power is tremendous. It really removes the dog hair and all of the fine dirt which is not visible. The price point is excellent. I really cannot find anything I do not like about this vacuum. It also comes with great attachments and a decent length power cord. I call this product a winner!!

First – this is a full on vacuum with a cord. It’s not cordless (so ignore reviews about how it should be or they wanted it to be). It’s also not lightweight (so ignore the reviews of folks that complain that it’s not as light as their cordless). And it’s also vacuum sized (so ignore the reviews about how big it is compared to their tiny stick vacs) That said – this vacuum is lovely, it picks up alllll the dog hair on the carpet – and that was the goal. Don’t get me wrong – I love my stick vac for hard floors and the entryway. But on carpet – it’s kinda junky. It wasn’t meant for carpet. I needed something beefy to suck up the dog hair since I find mini dogs rolling around the floor all the time from the shedding. This thing sucks it up! Five height adjustments for various carpets, canister that’s easy to remove and empty (you don’t need to be a rocket scientist to figure it out), a cord that’s fine length for moving from room to room (who wants a cord so long it can actually add extra weight and be more cumbersome?). No – it doesn’t self reel the cord, but who really cares? The purpose is to vacuum, not have another part to break. I haven’t used the specialty tools yet, but I assume they’ll be great on the stairs. I rated “four stars” on stairs because we have tried using the entire vacuum on the stairs, and yes it works, and yes it’s a pain in the patootie. But it does work. So I’ll try the attachment next. The dogs still hate it – they always do – but I love it. There will be some that don’t like this machine, some that do, some that think it’s an ugly color, some that want it to be bigger or smaller. Take the reviews for what they are. None are wrong if that’s how the user feels, but it does exactly what I need it to do. Bye bye hair balls!

Best vacuum for pet hair we’ve found
We have two of the sheddiest dogs I’ve ever come across. Doesn’t matter how much you brush them, huge clumps come out non stop. If I don’t sweep every day it looks like it’s been a week with the amount of dog hair flying around. For perspective, we broke another “pet hair” vacuum within 2 weeks of owning it from clogging it. This vacuum has been such a godsend! The different suction options allows me to vacuum instead of sweep on our hardwood floors. And the tougher suctions have worked wonders on our carpet!! Highly recommend if you have lots of dirt and hair in your home.

Belt BROKE on the FIRST NIGHT
I just received this vacuum today, and in using it on my second carpet the BELT BROKE. I noticed on the second rug that the brush stopped moving. Undid the screws and lo and behold the belt was BROKE. On the first night? Really?? Before it broke it did ok and got up the cat hair (I have three cats) but then, on the thicker carpet—the belt just popped. Ridiculous. So frustrated that I have to already buy a replacement belt. I’m going to wait for the replacement belt, but if it does it again I’m returning this product. Which is a shame because I was really excited to get this.

Best vacuum ever… really!
My expensive Oreck couldn’t make it through the living room without clogging. I ordered the Bissell to see if it really worked. It is amazing. No clogs, outstanding suction, swivels like the Oreck, strong beater bar. I love this machine. The canister detaches easily and is easy to empty. My only suggestion is that edge cleaning be improved – but that isn’t a big deal. Handles hair like a world champion.

Immediately Breaks
I’m simply trying to vacuum hardwood floors and I have a long haired dog and this vacuum cannot handle it. The first one I got before they sent a replacement broke after the first time I used it, it started smoking because the brush was stuck and it didn’t help to try and clean out all the dog hair from it, it was just ruined. The second one is basically in the same situation it lasted a little longer but it’s starting to have issues with the brush again, and now it’s literally 2 days past the return window and I’m still left sweeping my floors. Giving it 2 stars instead of one because I guarantee it is just not built for my specific dog having long hair and that’s the reason why the brush gets stuck, it would be a great powerful vacuum and it has a nice swivel IF IT DIDN’T BREAK!!!

Fair for the price
The cord is too short and the cord holder at the top doesn’t seem to hold the cord on very well. Also, the suction is a little hard to adjust to different types of flooring to rug whatever you can really do some serious damage on some thinner rugs.

Picks Up Great
This vacuum picks up things I didn’t even know were in my carpet. I have a dog and it does great with all of the dog hair. The hose is definitely not the length as stated. Cannot get under the bed or other furniture due to the design of the head. Maneuverability is great. Turns on a dime. It is a little heavier than I thought. So, I sometimes have to use the handle of the bin to pick up the vacuum to get to where I want to go.

The only thing I wish is that the beater bar wasn’t spinning when the vacuum is in the upright position, because it tends to wear whatever is under it when you are using the hose.
