This item works great, and is great value for the money. It can be installed several different ways, BUT BE WARNED. Even when turned off this unit draws a small amount of power. I have it installed in my convertible to power laptops when traveling. But I learned the hard way, that if I go more than about 10 days without driving it, the battery will be dead. So I installed a relay that disconnects it from the battery when I turn the motor off. No issues since.
Update 01/21/2024 BESTEK reached out to me about my experience and are working on making it right. I may have not had a good experience with the product, maybe I got a lemon but I appreciate BESTEK reaching out to make it right. That is good customer service that I don’t see much these days. Even though it died on me I changed my rating from 1 to 3 stars because of their customer service. The customer service makes me willing to try this product again. —- When it worked it was good but unfortunately it died after a month. Not a month of continuous use, only sporadic use. It is mounted to a wall so it’s not like it was getting jostled around. I’m not sure why it died. I was trying to avoid the cost of a morningstar inverter and it’s competitors but I should have just grit my teeth and spent the money. If this one is working for you awesome. My experience is that going cheap has cost me money instead of saving it.

Not 500 w highly misleading
It can barely handle 352 although it says it’s rated for 500 it does not do it. What’s the proper gauge and length wire and backed by 12.8 v 100 ampere lipo4 it failed 500 watt test it failed the 400 watt test it barely made it past 350 Watts

Didn’t work out of the box.
Even connected by the supplied power cable directly to a fully charged 12v battery (tested 12.5 volts) it showed a low voltage error (green light flashing) and would not work. I returned it and bought a different brand.

Outstanding Customer Service!
The inverter works good, but unfortunately the two USB ports quit working after about 9 months. I contacted Bestek customer service and they asked to see a video to show them the defect, or maybe tell me how to fix it. I sent them a quick video and my new replacement inverter arrived the next day. I highly recommend this inverter because it’s good, and customer service is excellent.

We needed 110V power for our camper during off grid outings. We just needed to charge laptops and phones, run a small fan – little stuff. this little number does the job. It is quiet and cool. Under 50 bucks – sweet!

After almost 5 years of constant use and abuse and storage outdoor. Here is my real review!
Where do I have to start??! This thing truthfully is amazing piece of invention. It’s highly durable. I know because I tested it in multiple cars I got crashed pretty hard, stored in very high temperature above 130 degrees F at one point. It even gotten rained on. Yet it still charging really good. I have no issues charging small appliances and multiple electronics with this inverter. It’s always been kept on the top of my work car dashboard directly exposed to hot California and Arizona Desert sun. All but one USB works. Fuse still original and as you can see. It definitely got serious aging. Rust buildup because of sun and occasional rain exposures. Also cables started to get worn out but it still working. I gave 4 star because I don’t know where I can get purchase or get a replacement wiring for this little beast. would I recommend buying it. TOTALLY!! it may not be on the cheaper side. But it definitely feels durable, it’s none like the other cheap plastic inverter you see online. It’s made of metal casing and felt rugged. No noise issues om mine.

Worked for what I needed it to. Ended up giving it to my brother and he put it to use. His wife even used it to breast pump in times of need. Unfortunately after a little over 3 years it stopped working.

Great solution for power while traveling
I do a lot of work on the road and need to recharge batteries, power a laptop and phone, and sometimes even video lights. I have the 300w version and loved it, wanted more power and the option to mount it, so I got the 500w version. They are both built like tanks, don’t get hot, and are really easy to use. The USB also makes it nice to still be able to have my phone plugged in after this takes the 12v plug.

Update 01/24: Seller responded and apologized and offered and provided a prompt refund. Very pleased with customer support and now I will buy from them again. This is all I can ask and expect, as sometimes products do have issues. The important thing is how sellers handle them, which in this case was great. Although they do need to get their phone line working. Thanks ———- I’ve purchased this exact same item (albeit in red) numerous times before and have had no problem running my 24” Philips LED TV in my RV – which used 50W max when on. Yet this one trips and causes red light to come on and shuts down when I turn it on. Not happy at all! And I’m about 30 days outside return window because I’ve been out of town and just had first opportunity to try it (unboxed it yesterday). Seller will not reply to calls, even from Amazon Support. I want a refund asap – as I am about to depart for long camping trip (so I can’t return it after that, at least not for at least a few months). When the other units failed after a year or more of use, I could accept that. But not this. Definitely defective from outset. Bestek, please contact me asap, and if you resolve the matter to my satisfaction I will update this review accordingly.

My truck does not have a 110 volt plug, so this inverter is great to have around for when I need a 110 plug for something and I am in the middle of nowhere. They are only 500 watts, so they won’t power everything but they sure have come in handy.

Mechanical defects of the product can haunt buyers!
The most serious mechanical defect of this product is that some of the units, if not all, will knock out the fuse of your car’s cigarette charger/outlets within seconds, whether the units’ output power is for 300W, 400W or 500W. The website description has no mention of it, and the overwhelming majority of the reviewers who gave this product negative one-star comments had complaints exclusively on this issue. Does the manufacturer give any quality test for the product? If you do not know how to change the car’s fuses on your own, the repair cost and your precious time to be spent to fix the trouble at an auto shop will surely anger you. Why should the buyer bear this extra burden as a result of the product’s known(!!) mechanical defect? Value for money? I’d give negative 5-stars!

I have a SAE line coming into the my truck bed to power accessories. I bought this unit because it has terminals. So I bought a short SAE cable to terminals and wired up my inverter. The wires almost melted immediately. Why did it get hot, and not even turned on? Well my wires came with a little reverse adapters I didn’t pay attention to, and when I plugged in the SAE connector is was hot to ground. I added the reverse adapter and problem solved. Whew. I plugged a light in, and it turned on. The piece feels rugged, and looks good. Time will tell how it holds up to occasional use.

WARNING: only supplied 99v
Be careful. My unit only provided 99V. My fault that I didn’t test it first, but it burnt out my Sleep Number mattress pump before I realized what was going on. Make sure you test the voltage before plugging a device into it, it can brown out and damage your electronics.
