The Good, the Bad, and the Product: An In-Depth Review
The vacuum in question has garnered some positive feedback from users who appreciate its functionality and the convenience it offers. Notably, a user named J Jones found the mapping feature of the vacuum to be incredibly efficient, allowing for the labeling and selective cleaning of rooms via an app. This level of automation, combined with the ability to schedule cleaning sessions, provides a significant convenience factor. Users like Kevin Toomey have observed an impressive amount of pet hair collection, attributing this to the device’s advanced navigation capabilities, such as LiDAR mapping. This technology is praised for its precision in navigating around furniture and other obstacles.
The product seems to be relatively quiet, as noted by Taylor Carthas, and is effective on a variety of surfaces including hardwood, tile, and low-profile area rugs, according to Chester H. Leckner. The absence of tangled hair in the brushes is a unique selling point mentioned by deweyduo, which can be particularly beneficial for homes with pets. The device’s self-emptying feature, despite being noisy, is a highlight for some customers, eliminating the need for frequent manual intervention.
Furthermore, for individuals with mobility issues or those who simply detest vacuuming, like Chris D., the robot vacuum offers a hands-off approach to maintaining clean floors. The ease of removing and cleaning the dust bin, as mentioned by Susan H., and the aesthetic of neat carpet lines left behind add to the appeal of the vacuum.
However, the product also has its fair share of criticism, with a number of users reporting significant drawbacks. A common complaint, highlighted by Amanda Lipesky, is the vacuum’s inefficiency on carpet and its inability to effectively handle pet hair. This suggests that the product may not be suitable for homes with pets or those with carpeted floors.
The longevity and durability of the vacuum have been questioned by users like rich, who experienced a breakdown of the unit shortly after the warranty expired and faced challenges with the lack of available replacement parts or repair services. Similarly, patioelf’s experience with a unit that failed to charge and self-empty, despite its high cost, points to reliability issues. Additionally, issues with the device’s software and Wi-Fi connectivity, as described by Sumit@AWS and other users, seem to hinder the full utilization of the product’s smart features, which is a significant downside for a technology-oriented device.
Furthermore, customers like David C. have raised concerns about the product’s lifespan, indicating that the vacuum may not last as long as expected. Others, such as Stephani Perriman and Shelby Loftin, have encountered quality control issues, including receiving units that were previously used or malfunctioned after a brief period of satisfactory performance. User deweyduo’s frustration with the product’s multiple filters, the app’s lack of error notifications, frequent errors, and the high maintenance demands echo the sentiment of unreliability and inconvenience.
In summary, while the vacuum has features that are praised by some, such as its mapping and cleaning abilities, the overall sentiment from users indicates that the product may struggle with pet hair, carpets, and reliability over time, which could be potential deal-breakers for prospective buyers.

Can anyone help? I’d love to provide a reasonable review for this vac but not going to until we get a manual. No manual in the box, no QR code to download one, Amazon can’t find it and yes I’ve looked at the Shark website. NO LUCK. Our model is av26101eus and it’s different from the ones I’ve looked at. Mostly the fill tank. Our fill tank doesn’t work like the ones provided. Frustrating and about ready to return

Mop leaks
The vacuum aspect was not nearly as good as my Roomba. It won’t go under furniture that roomba will. And now the mop feature leaks. I filled fluid tank and places on base and the fluid leaked out. It has happened more than once and is ruining my floor.

Loved our first one so we got a second!
We have a “60 day” self emptying model that cleans 65% of our main floor. The rest of our main floor is sunken down one step. We contemplated getting a ramp for the vacuum but were unable to find anything that would work and would also be out of the way. We decided instead to purchase a second vacuum. Because it would cover a smaller footprint we opted for the “30 day” bin size. This vacuum is fantastic! It has only gotten stuck twice. Both times on the fringe of a blanket that was carelessly tossed onto a sofa with the fringe hanging on the ground. This vacuum goes over lamp cords with no problems and transitions from hardwood to carpet seamlessly. We have two dogs with short hair that shed and it picks up their hair with no problem. This vacuum is set to run on a schedule every day and although the bin is supposed to hold up to a months worth of debris I do empty it every two weeks to ensure it doesn’t get packed.
Jessica McCluskey –
Worked great until the clip broke
You have to unclip the dust bin to fill the water. There is a small clip that holds the bin to the vac. That clip broke. They do not sell replacement clips. The entire bin is for sell but sold out. Probably because everyone else’s clip broke also. The vac can’t run if the bin is not secure. However, it’s amazing when it works.

why did I wait so long to buy this
purchased this 6 months ago and use it almost everyday…why did I wait so long to jump on the robot vac trend!?! Love the features to set up automatic sweeps. Love that it does hardwoods and carpets. Love the mopping attachment! Took a while to map the house and get it setup properly. Only had 1 mishap where it went into a room that was off the map and got stuck on an area rug. Now I close that door prior to sweeping.

The best thing I have bought myself.
you can not go wrong with this product. It cleans up things I’ve never seen on my floor. I was looking at it like “where did that come from” My floors haven’t been as clean as they are now. On the flip side, a co worker brought the same one, and it had a issue. But it is being replaced, so win win.

Junk
Got the vacuum as a Christmas gift. I been waiting since getting it for it to work. *** Over 3 weeks *** I have called customer support they have said it was a battery the first time. The second time the vacuum was bad and they would send a new vacuum but I would have to transfer the battery and the brushes from the one that does not work to the new. This is costing me $10:55 more for shipping. Called a 3rd time this person is very nice and very apologizing looked at the problems I have had and said they will ship me another vacuum and gave me another shipping number. I was not charged shipping and handling on this one. Waiting to see if I finally get a vacuum that works for Christmas.

Great robot vac/mop
Our house is a ranch style and 1000sq ft. I only have it cleaning the kitchen/living/hall and 1 bath. It does seem to vacuum well. It does miss right around the perimeter of some things. I love the self empty part. The app is ok. The mop part is eh. It doesn’t scrub like a standard mop, it’s more like a swiffer. The total area of space is 300ish sq ft and by time it gets to the last room, it’s barely using any water to mop. It also will NOT run without water in the tank—/ which holds 1 cup exactly. (I wanted to see if I could have it vacuum without using the mop part and the answer is no. It will yell at you to add water) We have 2 little kids and 3 dogs so there’s crumbs and hair but so far it seems to handle it. I did have to order more mop pads and I also ordered an extra dust bin. Overall? Good but don’t expect a good housekeeping worthy clean. It just doesn’t do that.

Not as good as older model
This new unit is taller (less effective getting under cabinets) MUCH louder (clicking & clacking, especially on wood & tile) and has yet to successfully empty itself or join on-line. We loved our previous unit and foolishly replaced it after 7 years.

IMMEDIATE RETURN
This is the worst robot vacuum to ever be made. Brand new out of the box it has nothing but connectivity issues. From initial pairing to WiFi. Yes it’s close to the router. Our old robot was in that same spot. Brand new out of the box and it’s also having suction issues. This really is the worst piece of garbage I’ve ever bought. Even a $99 Eufy connects better.
Betty J. –
Stopped working after 2 months.
Worked great fir 2 months. But started having an error message indicating the unit was on an unlevel surface and could not operate. Nothing worked when we tried to clear it. We called Shark tech help and found out this is a common bug in this model. They were supposed to have mailed us a part that would fix, and an email with tracking info and installation that evening. 5 weeks later, no email, no tracking, no part. Returning this,.minus restocking fee. I am buying Roomba to replace.

Doesn’t get in the lower spots.
I didn’t like it because it didn’t get underneath the bed the bed 6 inches inches tall still didn’t get underneath there. My old one went underneath there on a consistent basis.

Worth the price!
I would have given 4.5 stars if that were an option. That’s a bit of unnecessary information. I have three dogs with long-ish hair (german shepherd and siberian husie) and they shed constantly. This thing isn’t great at picking up the clumps, in fact it does tend to get stuck and shut itself down. BUT, first off it is much better than any of the other robot vacuums than I have tried previously. I do need to help it empty sometimes because the hair clumps, but I figured out if I run it twice a day the hair doesn’t accumulate around the house and the thing works like a champ! If you’re getting it for dog hair, keep in mind that there aren’t a lot of regular vacuums that can tackle big clumps and robot vacuums aren’t much better due to the limited size and width of the suction hole. But honestly this thing does get the job done once you fine tune the schedule and everything. Even with it occasionally getting clogged I still say it was well worth the price tag. I haven’t tried the mop function yet. But seriously, if you’re on the fence about this one. Get it. The app is a little slow to load but the fully remote operation is great.
Enjonel –
Love it!
The media could not be loaded. I was hesitant to buy this because I have a dog who hates the regular vacuum, so I thought for sure she would try to eat this but she ignores it mostly! This thing has made chores much easier! I’d have to do the floors once a week (deep clean) because dog paws and snow make for a messy floor. With this though I have it scheduled to clean daily and it’s made it SO MUCH easier with the cleaning! My only complaint is that the water reservoir is too small. But I can gladly fill that up everyday. If you’re hesitating to get this, just do it!

Stopped mopping after two months.
It worked great for two months. But since then, it no longer mops.
Kristin M. –
Not as good as it should be
Within 6 months of using the mop part, the cap where you filled the tank broke off. I was told that that part isn’t covered under warranty and I’d have to pay for it. They eventually sent a new part. Now a couple weeks ago the mop stopped working. No water going through it/washing the floor. I tried the options in customer service and those “solutions” didn’t work. The customer support in the app is terrible. I would suggest finding a different brand and vacuum.
Matthew Fortson –
Good addition but quirks that vacuum only didn’t have
The mop is a great addition. However, the tech is very inconsistent compared to the last Shark vacuum. Cleaning report is hit and miss. Sometimes shows report other times no report. Estimate vacuum times is always 5min. It never changes. With mop attachment I have to take docking plate off to charge. With mop attachment gets suck often because of dragging (which can be expected) It’s frustrating since I was used to high quality from my previous vacuum. The adjustment of mechanics is a really nice improvement, producing less physical maintanance.
mike –
Convenient.
The product comes with easy and clear instructions. With the free app, it’s so easy to set up and let it run on its own.
FWoods –
It’s just okay
I had issues setting up the vacuum with my Samsung Galaxy and had to complete setup on an iPhone first. Then everything worked from my Samsung. Vacuum works well except for on long cat hair on the carpet. The hair is often left behind, and when I use the spot clean feature it still doesn’t get the hair.
Christian –
The most USELESS item I’ve ever wasted money on
The media could not be loaded. Second review. Took an extended break from this annoying little thing. App is up to date, vacuum is up to date, remapped the house minus a few rooms I don’t want it to go. This is suppose to be cleaning the master bath, it’s drunken back and forth nonsense has me so ready to just pay someone to take it off my hands. It NEVER knows where to go and when you keep trying to send it to one of the rooms you selected, it goes clear across town (like my ADHD we completely forgot where we were going, let alone what we were suppose to be doing) It’s the ugliest, and a tad bit pricy home decor that is the biggest annoyance in my home. At this point I may as well allow the kids to take it and see what kind of motorized thingy they can make with it because it does ZERO cleaning. Functionally: NONE Battery life: sucks just as good as my partner Ease of use: what’s that? Suction: a rose has better suction than this This thing all around SUCKS and not in a good way.

Great Efficiency for a Great Price
I’ve owned robo-vacs before and there always seemed to be some little snag, like the brush coming out often or the robot having difficulty getting back onto it’ perch. This vaccum has none of those issues and the app is easy to use. Mapping during the initial run can be tricky but this one went off without a hitch. There is no carpet in my house, only rugs on wood or vinyl flooring, and this machine makes the transitions without hang-ups. Sometimes I have to help it over two particular door thresholds that are rather thick. My house is 130-years-old and the thresholds are substantial. The vac is programmed to run every other day and helps keeps fur/dander of two cats under control.

love shark when it doesn’t read its cliff diving
wanted to love this and was very excited to get it started. Downloaded the app, charged it completely and when we tried to set it up, it kept reading that it was encountering a cliff. Very disappointed and ended up returning to amazon. Don’t be like us, make sure you keep the box to ensure it works properly. Amazon accepted the return which was nice, most store make you go through the manufacturer.

Love our Sharky!
I recently purchased the Shark Robot Vacuum & Mop Combo, and I’m extremely happy with it! The powerful suction works incredibly well on both hard floors and low-pile carpets, picking up dust, dirt, and debris with ease. The Matrix Plus system provides excellent cleaning coverage, and I love that it can transition smoothly between different floor types. The 60-day debris capacity is a game-changer, as I don’t have to empty it nearly as often, which saves time and effort. The HEPA filter is a great bonus, as it traps fine dust and allergens, making it ideal for those with allergies. The bagless design is also convenient, and the vacuum and mop combo is fantastic for keeping floors spotless. Overall, this Shark Robot Vacuum & Mop Combo is a great investment for anyone looking for a reliable, efficient cleaning solution!

Gets Stuck
It is the dumbest “smart” vacuum I have ever owned. Does a decent job cleaning but unlike other robots I’ve owned, I have to run it while I am home so I can get it unstuck several times during cleaning cycle.
Katie Douglas –
It may just be my favorite thing ever!
One week in to having it set up, I’m pleasantly surprised by how amazing it is! It works great, saves me so much time, and has our floors looking great! We live in super dusty country, have dogs, cats, and young farm kids running around, yet this vacuum has been tackling it all with ease so far.
KatMusik –
Still sucks. Which is a GOOD thing!
Purchased the AV2501S in July 2022 and had my first issue with it this week. It wasn’t working at all and the alert lights could’ve been several things. I contacted Shark customer care and a great agent walked me through troubleshooting and got it back up and running quickly. He even stayed on for a bit to make sure it kept working. I return to a brand/company who have not only good products, but great service. More Shark purchases in my future!

Do not purchase. Bad customer support and poor design and docs
This robot does both vacuuming and mopping. However, finding any documentation on which mode it is in, and how to switch modes is impossible. They have no support email or chat. You have to call in. They don’t even have vacuums in their main call category options. Support said I should “empty the water tank and it will automatically change to vacuum mode.” All it does it says “fill my tank.” The Shark App doesn’t even list my product version in their documentation list. The app doesn’t let you switch modes. There are serious design problems in the vacuum itself, the iphone app, and their support structure and training.

Roller gets stuck and the unit won’t run at all
The vacuum worked great…until it didn’t. It says the roller is stuck, even though I completely cleared it. Now it won’t run at all. The mop function leaves a lot to be desired too.

Love it!
Love my robot vacuum! It took twice to map our house but other than that it’s been great! My dog sheds like crazy and the amount of hair it is picking up even after a few Max cleans and normal cleans makes us wonder why our dog isn’t bald!

Best Investment for Home Cleanliness – Totally Worth the Price!
I recently purchased the Hark Robot Vacuum & Mop Combo, and I have to say, it’s by far my favorite purchase in a long time. This vacuum and mop combo has made cleaning my home so much easier, and I honestly don’t know how I managed without it before. It has been a game-changer for my busy lifestyle. The vacuum does an excellent job at picking up pet hair, dust, and dirt, and the mop feature leaves my floors sparkling clean. It’s great for daily upkeep, and it’s super convenient for when I’m too busy to clean manually. The suction power is strong, and it navigates my home efficiently, even under furniture and in tight corners. I also love the app feature, which allows me to control it remotely and set cleaning schedules. The battery life is impressive, and when it’s done cleaning, it automatically returns to the charging station. The best part is that it works on various floor types, from hardwood to carpets, without skipping a beat. If you’re considering purchasing this robot vacuum, I highly recommend it. It’s worth every penny, especially if you wait for Prime Day to snag a great deal. I plan on buying another one when this one eventually wears out. It’s an investment that makes my life so much easier, and I truly can’t imagine going back to cleaning the traditional way!

No owners manual-bad customer service!
What little I have used the Shark Vacuum I like. Unfortunately they do not provide any printed instructions. This vacuum is equipped to vacuum as well as clean (mop) my floors. I would love to use this to the full extend, but I’m not able to do this due to lack of owners manual. On December 2nd I contacted the Shark Customer Service & of course was connected with a very nice gentleman with broken english. After spending almost ten minutes discussing my issues with him he was not able to help me. I then told him that I would have to return the vacuum since I am not able to download the owners manual. He kindly asked me to hold for a few minutes so he could talk to his supervisor. When he returned I was told that they would send me the owners manual. That was more than 4 weeks ago and I still have not received the owners manual. Trust me if I were able to download and print the manual I would be happy to do that, but not all of us are tech savvy. With that kind of customer service (no follow through) I will never purchase another Shark item again, not to mention that I do not feel compelled to recommend this or any other shark products. I am very disappointed in this company’s lack of customer service.

Love this!
I love this robot vacuum! This is the first robot I’ve ever owned so I have nothing to compare it to. I still use my upright vacuum to do ceiling corners and deep cleaning but it’s so nice to just turn on this vacuum when I leave the house for a couple hours and come home and see that the floors look so nice. I do not have any pets but my husband is a farmer so our floors get plenty of dirt on them. I have both carpet and vinyl flooring, It really does a great job. It’s not very noisy at all, except when it empties but that’s only for a few seconds. I highly recommend this vacuum.

Never worked. We had to have a replacement sent before we could ever use it Update: they sent the wrong robot replacement. This product is completely useless. Will not pair or charge with the base from the original product.

Had higher expectations
The mapping for the mop feature is difficult and it isn’t very user friendly. I was kind of let down versus the great experience with all of my other shark products. The vacuum feature is ok though
