Disappointed. Got this to replace my iRobot Roomba. My Roomba picked up all the dog hair feom my carpet. This Shark just goes over the top of it and leaves the hair. This may be fire for houses with no carpet, but it sure isn’t as good as the iRobot. Looks like this will be going back.

Very nice
This does a much better job than previous models that bounce off of obstructions and walls. This model, unlike previous ones, uses lasers to determine obstacles, and stop the machine before it bumps into anything. The self cleaning feature works well, I have 2 cats and still only have to empty the reservoir once a week or so. Overall, very happy with the machine.

It does vacuum floors, but…..
It’s a smart little machine and it vacuums fairly well but don’t believe the info on it about pet hair. We have a malamute that’s a semi wooly. That means long hair. The machine mapped the house well and on its first run did a good job. But, on its second run we had an error that the roller was jammed. So we followed the direction and removed it to clean. We found the drive end of the roller had our dogs hair rapped around it. It had caught all of the long hairs and twisted it around the orange drive end. We removed the hair and also removed it from the brush and rubber vane. It does not clean the brush roller of hair. It gets rapped around it and you have to remove it manually. The machine ran good for 2 more runs and it errored out again with the same issue. This time we did not find any hair around the orange drive end. So we cleared the error and tried again. We got the same error 2 more times with not see anything on the drive end. This time I removed the green stationary end and found a big wad of hair rapped around it. I removed the hair and ran normally. The small wheel in the front of the unit also had hair wrapped around the small pin that’s mounts the wheel. It was very tough to remove and I could not get all of it out. This does not bode well for the long term serviceability of the unit. The app does not let you resume after an error like this. So the unit must start all over again. The spot clean size is not adjustable. Over well the app is 7 out of 10. We are still on the fence about this unit. Right now it’s a 50-50 chance that we will return it. I will update this review with pictures the next time it faults out. Which will probably be after the next 2 times it cleans.

I’ve had good luck with my vacuum. Anyone with a dog, owning this should be a requirement. Does heart with dog hair. However, if you think this is a ‘magic’ vacuum and you will never have to clean your house again you are wrong. I turn mine loose and it does a great job as a quick clean up and maintenance device but at some point you will have to use a regular vacuum and clean your floors the old school way. The folks that have written negative reviews all seem to have the most trouble with the app, and mapping. I don’t bother with that. Just turn it loose and it does its thing. The other thing is it doesn’t like water. We spilled water on the floor [the dogs water bowl] when we were not home. The vacuum sucked up some of the water and the moisture caused it to clog up.

Vacuum worked for a few days before getting repeated error that the brush was blocked even when it’s clean. The map doesn’t show the path the vacuum takes or where it’s at in the house when it gets stuck. Will go back to roborock

So far I love this thing!
I never, ever thought that I would own a robot vacuum, but now that I do I can’t imagine my life without one! I live in a small space (1-level), do not have kids nor pets, but I shed plenty of hair myself and have lots of dust constantly accumulating from my rugs and sheets. I just run this thing in the morning as I am heading out the door for my daily walk and I come back to a house that feels clean and tidy. I usually run it on the max setting and it takes anywhere from 45 minutes to 1 hour to vacuum ~650 square feet of space. I would say that on the eco setting or regular setting it really isn’t that loud, and then on the max setting it is a bit louder, but not unbearable (especially if one isn’t home while it is running!). So far I haven’t had any problems with the machine overall except it doesn’t seem to obey the “no-go” zone that I pre-programmed into the app, but I have only had it for about a week now so only time will tell if I need to make some adjustments or call customer service. I am a die-hard Shark fan and so far this has not disappointed me. I would highly recommend this to anyone who doesn’t want to have to vacuum multiple times per week on their own.

Sweep before use
Vacuum works well on dust, as long as floor swept or pre vacuumed. It is easily clogged with larger pieces such as dry cat food or small plant leaves. It goes under chairs or furniture and gets stuck often. It does not connect to dock well, a lot of dust comes out when it is emptying into main container. For this price I expected more.

Best Robot Vacuum yet!
This Vacuum has far exceeded our expectations. It mapped our house perfectly on its first discovery run, and the ability to choose which room (and power setting) to use is an awesome feature. We have had zero issues with it getting stuck and it does a great job! We do have a very shaggy rug that requires 2 passes to clean completely, but i cant fault the vacuum for that, more my wife for picking out that rug! 10/10 would recommend getting this, Great price and great value!

This vacuum does a wonderful job cleaning my floors. The suction is good and it rarely gets stuck on anything. The fact that it empties itself is a time saver. I only have to empty the dust bin once a month. I clean and rinse the filters and brush at the same time. I run this vacuum six nights a week. It is quiet enough to run while I’m sleeping. I just have it clean the living room, kitchen and bathroom. I had some magnetic strips from an old vacuum so I put those in the doorways of rooms I don’t want this vacuum to go. I wake up every morning to nice clean floors! The only thing I don’t like about this vacuum is that the navigation isn’t very good. Instead of seeing that a wall or object is near it just runs into it several times as it figures out how to proceed. As a result my baseboards and furniture get pretty marked up, so I have to scrub them more often. The app works well and was easy to connect. I love how you can schedule when it should clean and when it should stay docked. Overall I would definitely recommend this vacuum.

Way better than my roomba!
I got rid of all of my iRobot Roomba and replace them with this shark vac. I am super Duper impressed with its intelligence and ability to pick up as much as it does. It empties the dirt and Pet hair so frequently that you pretty much don’t have to empty the bin for weeks and weeks, it is awesome. I love it! I’ll never buy an iRobot again.

Only worked for 1 Year
Initially, I really liked this product, as an automatic vacuum is a God-send for wood floors in a house with pets. The vacuum never did a good job on carpet, but most of my floors are hardwood. After about 8 months, the vacuum started having issues emptying and would error out with debris left in the emptying flap on the back. I would always have to manually clear it. Then, a couple months later (about the 1 year mark, 13 months at the most), the vacuum just stopped turning on altogether. It acts like it is completely dead, regardless of verifying it is clean and lined up with the charging prongs on the dock. Save your money and try another brand.

Was Great while it lasted
Loved my Shark, improved our quality of life living with 2 huskies… but it suddenly died and will not charge, turn on or do anything in less than a year of purchase. Also there are not parts for this model to replace the motherboard and try to revive it. our only options are to replace it.

We bought this during the Black Friday sale, and I’ve got to say that I’m impressed, thus far. It does a good job of mapping, and the no-go zones work perfectly. The app is laid out pretty well, though I don’t care for the design of the scheduling section. I’d prefer to be able to see the schedule layout, rather than having them hidden behind boxes that I have to open just to see the times. Overall, this thing rocks and I hope it continues to impress for a long time.

In November 2020 I bought this model. It lasted until November 2023. Customer service can only give me a 30% discount and buying it new here is cheaper than the product with the telephone discount. There is no way for them to fix the sensors. I’m not going to be buying a robot every three years. Do the calculation to see if it is convenient for you to pay the price of this robot so that it lasts three years.

I’ve had this vacuum for almost 3 years
The media could not be loaded. Alright so after having this vacuum for almost 3 years, I decided to write an honest review It does bang into things , even after all this time, it has chipped paint off of every piece of furniture it has come in contact with. So not only does the furniture look tacky, the vacuum has said paint marks on it. I have 3 dogs, I use this thing at-least once a day but mostly twice a day. I clean the filters out every or every other month. And I also wipe down and clean it all every few months. About a month ago, it kept stopping and beeping, I would make sure it wasn’t going low on battery , make sure there wasn’t any clogs, and push in the wheels and bumper to make sure they were moving freely. It would still happen, every time I used it. So i decided to take the wheels off and check under those, by unscrewing the screws and gently lifting them up. Omg. It was like there was an ENTIRE dog in there.. hair in every nook and cranny. Hair was entangle in the wires. Please see attached photos … I have no idea why they made this so open to get hair up in there but I feel there should be a flat plastic piece blocking hair from going deep inside this robot. If you have even one dog that sheds a lot, like a lab , I wouldn’t recommend this one. If you have no pets, and you don’t mind your furniture getting scuffed up, by all means get it. Other than these two deal breakers. The vacuum is decent. Still sucks up when I use it. But I also do use a standing vacuum at-least once a week and that thing I have to empty 3 times so who knows what the robot is leaving behind!

Cleans well but it’s kind of dumb for a smart device
The self emptying feature is handy and it does a great job of keeping up with the constant crumbs my kids leave behind… but that is only WHEN it cleans. I swear this thing is constantly not cleaning on its schedule because of a “dust cup error” or it says it’s not on a level surface and can’t begin cleaning (hardwood floor on provided plastic base??) I’ll notice the crumbs under the table starting to build up and when I check the app to see when the vacuum ran sure enough… hasn’t run in a couple days! So frustrating!

I can set it to run at like 5amand when I get up it’s so nice to have the floor clean and not stepping on crumbs and litter. It transitions from tile to carpet with ease including rugs. I would still keep my regular vacuum to go around edges of rooms but other than that so far after a month completely satisfied! And bagless empty is great too otherwise I feel I would have to buy bags all the time. I have brought it to the second floor and it works I just need to listen and empty myself and listen for it to need to recharge. Eventually I may get a separate one for upstairs.

Won’t even work
I guess its my fault for getting it discounted “used”. First time trying to run it out of the box and it doesn’t work. From what I can tell the motor/belt for the sidebrush is faulty because its giving me an error that the sidebrush is obstructed. It hasn’t cleaned an INCH! so shame on me but come on… and no returns!

Amazing!
The media could not be loaded. I didn’t expect much from this little vacuum, but I am positively surprised! I have two dogs who shed a lot and my home is much cleaner since I’ve had the mini Shark as I like to call it. It goes under my sofa and my bed where I can’t easily reach with my regular vacuum. Suction is very good and the motor is strong enough to get onto rugs and over small obstacles. It‘s not noisy at all when it‘s running. The only thing that’s loud is when it empties itself, but that only lasts a few minutes. It was easy to set up and did a great job at mapping the house. The battery seems to last long enough to clean the whole apartment which takes around 1.5 hours. After a full clean it’s usually around 30 – 40% battery. Highly recommend!

I don’t understand the categories about cleaning suction etc if I have to monitor the stupid thing every time it runs. It has no real mapping ability If I set it down to clean some of the MANY places it misses it WILL NOT simply go straight forward until it reaches an obstacle. It will circle and circle and NEVER just go forward. It is just the stupidest thing. It will go back and forth in a hallway and NEVER go down it in a straight line. This may not adequately explain the stupid thing but trust me don’t buy this one. I regret this purchase I

Seemed great at first – not so great at pet hair after all – went crazy later
Back in perhaps 2016 I bought my first robot vacuum. It was an old Ecovacs model with zero smarts. Just press and go, and it would randomly wander the house vacuuming. For what it was, it actually worked okay. No mapping, no “AI”, no self empty station. But with daily manual emptying of the bin, it worked alright and provided some amusement as it bumped aimlessly around the house. Fast forward to 2023 and some years of not owning a robot vacuum and I decided to see what had changed. I have an upright Shark vacuum with the self cleaning pet hair brush rolls that has been kicking for years now and works great. So, I decided to try Shark over the big name robot. Jumping around in the timeline of my tale here a bit, I eventually gave up on this Shark robot and went to the big name robot – and in the end the big name one was even worse. More on that later. I set up the Shark with the 60 day self empty and set it to work mapping. It fairly accurately mapped my house in one go. I set a schedule for every other day and let it do its thing. It seemed to work quite well. It left nice carpet lines in the bedroom that really made my wife feel like it was doing work. Within the first two weeks, some weaknesses showed themself – all surrounding pet hair. We have two dogs, and an old cat. So, lots of hair. The house is mostly tile, just two carpeted rooms. The vacuum picked up the hair well from each area at first. But it suffered quickly. First issue is that the brush roll ends absolutely wound themselves in hair to the point of absolutely seizing up. This after just a week or so. I had to rescue the vacuum after I got home from work – it had stalled somewhere in a state of immobility. This happened regularly. The next issue with the hair is that the design of the channel between the brush rolls and the integral canister are not smooth – the include a row of metal “blades”. I am unsure as to the reasoning here, but these blades grabbed onto hair and eventually built a dam of pet hair that prevented the robot from adequately vacuuming. Weird design. The third issue as it relates to pet hair is that the bin doesn’t seem to have any way to detect that it is nearing full. This means that the robot can be full of hair and it will not return to the base to empty until 30 minutes has passed. That is the timeframe for emptying. Once every 30 minutes or whenever it needs to charge. I believe in a pet hair heavy house of large square footage this is inadequate. When you boil it down, I could live with these issues and just increase my manual maintenance of the bot. Because at first, otherwise, it worked great. But then one day it went haywire. It started to ignore drop offs, and would throw itself into our sunken living room and I’d find it stuck there (picture related). It even once threw itself into the shower while my wife was in there – this shower is a step down from the bathroom. Her face was covered in soap when something crashed in and started talking! She was very unhappy, carpet lines or not. Beyond that it started to ignore its map, going into rooms that we had previously precluded from mapping, meaning it would get stuck on obstacles or under furniture it couldn’t navigate. And so in the end I gave up on this guy, ordered a big name robot, and repurposed this one. I cleaned it up and gave it to my dad who has no pets, no sunken living room, and a pretty simple layout with no carpet. I suspect it will work well for him. Sadly the big name robot didn’t fare better. Worse, actually. A review for another day.

Much cheaper than a Roomba and does a better job
After running through 3 Roombas I opted for this one. It’s much more cost effective. It’s mapping is far superior. I love that the bin does not have a bag. I empty the bin on the charger every few runs and rinse it out. The Roomba bag would stink up the whole house like smelly dog every time it emptied the vacuum. I have 2 goldens and this product is great. You can send it out to do spot cleans and label your rooms in the app. Very accurate. Could have a bit more suction but with only 1 carpet in the house I can live with that. It is more streamlined and does not get stuck as much as the others.

It mapped ok is all i can say for this, a crumb over 2 inches away from an end table and wasnt picked up, my old cheap ine i sent out and gone, it constantly stopped at the edge of a thin throw carpet on my wood floor and rubber mat by the frint door and said it was about to fall off the edge, each time i had to pick it up and move it elsewhere, it misses areas completely and when i send it to the base it goes in circles for minutes before figuring where home base is, needless to say i sent it back

BEWARE – No warranty coverage on the battery
Loved the vacuum until the battery died. Come to find out Shark wants to charge me $60 for a new battery even though the vacuum is not even a year old. There is no warranty coverage on batteries at all. Shark has lost me as a customer for life.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this vacuum! Prior to purchasing this one, I was running a Roomba and another off brand robot vac but they were both a pain to clean and maintain. I have three big dogs and my floors are always dirty. This vac does an amazing job and I love that it finds its base with ease, unlike the other two. I’ve been running it 2-3 times a day for the past two weeks and haven’t had to clean the brushes once. I love that I can run it at night and have it only vacuum certain areas without going down the hallway and waking people up. This is seriously the best thing I’ve ever bought off of Amazon.

Finally a great deal
This was our 3rd attempt with a new robot vacuum. The first 2 failed miserably and were returned. This sharp cleans excellently and picks up A ton. We have two large dogs and it works like a champ and it empties into a bag less bin that’s simple to clean. Unlike other vacuums that return only when the battery is low, this one returns to base, empties it’s contents and goes back to work. We have a 2000 sf home and it takes about 2 1/2 hours total to complete in 2 cycles. We’re very pleased.

Very disapointed!
I had a previous Shark robot vacuum and it was a decent vacuum but after 5 years it stopped and I couldn’t get it going again. I replaced with this model. Very disappointed! It doesn’t pick up pet or human hair off the carpets and rugs, a little better on the hardwood floors. I have to empty and clean out the debris bucket daily and get error message all the time – even when it is not in use. It leaves a mess where it connects to the debris bucket. We have pets so I run the vacuum daily. Also, the little roller ball in the front round wheel has fallen out and I haven’t found it in the house yet. Yes, we run it every day but mostly wood floors and a bedroom with low pile carpet. I have an old yellow lab that sheds terribly and this does not pick up her hair very well. I placed a picture of our entry rug AFTER the vacuum ran today. It almost seems like it is spreading the hair around and not picking it up. I will be contacting the company to see if I can get my money back.

So far so good. Mapping took us a few to get it right. It cleans in a zig zag, room by room (if you set up the rooms) You can have it clean a specific room or whole house. It has a few suction strength settings. It will empty its bin and resume where it left off. It’s a little louder on tile than carpet and the emptying bin is fairly loud and the vac empties every time it’s done. Not a vac for at night while the family sleeps as it may wake someone up. We haven’t tried all it’s functions yet but so far we are pleased.

Hopeful turned disappointed!
I hate to write this especially because it really started out so well and we were so hopeful. It lasted a month until it stopped cleaning the whole mapped area on its scheduled cleaning we set up. Unfortunately just out of the return window to add. It would do a splendid job but started to only vacuum a small section of one room and return “finished”. What once to 45-60 mins to complete our full map now ran only for 7 minutes until it returned to dock finished, that’s how we started to realize it was not working fully anymore. It will not at this point clean a single room or spot clean as it leaves the dock and immediately returns. Beyond frustrating because these are not cheap and we have tried remapping over and over again, as well as resetting it to factory settings, all with no further luck. It’s not worth the money it cost for the 30days it actually works. I would advise against wasting your money and unfortunately pick up the manual vacuum and put in the time.

What took me so long?
I’ve had Sharkey for about a week, and I truly don’t know what took me so long to take the plunge into a robot vacuum. I have 3 dogs, and an occasional 4th that I sit for. Sharkey handles it all. I work from home and he kicks off at 10am. Still working on efficiencies, and I have the setting on to empty every 30 min so he needs to recharge and finish later. But I love coming out of my office and seeing a clean floor! Will update if anything changes but would highly recommend.

Decent vacuum. ABYSMAL APP!!!
I’ll cut to the point: The Shark app that runs this vacuum is unacceptably unstable making this unit 100% not worth it. DO NOT BUY! Details: The app keeps losing the map. Or the app keeps losing the robot! In both cases your map you worked hard to create is vaporized. They don’t back it up anywhere. And you can’t back it up yourself. I’ve had to rebuild our map – which takes at least a couple weeks of cleaning – at least 8 times over the year we’ve had it. In today’s world of amazing tech, that is wholly unacceptable. Shame on you Shark. I will never buy from you again. Waste of money.

Works on pet hair
First impressions were not great BUT you need to give it time to map. It seems to improve the map each time it goes out and contrary to what some have said it does navigate in straight lines once it has improved its map. If you look in the picture you can see that while it has left some hair behind it is also noticeably better where ot has run. I have 2 Australian Shepherds and they shed like mad. I think if I run my shark navigator duo and then use this robot vac more often the results will be fantastic. If I had to offer a downside it would be battery life. I have a relatively large house and a large area rug. My living room is 24 x28. In order to get the area rug clean I have run it on max power. The brush has been jammed once but it is incredibly easy to remove and clean. I feel like my home is an unfair test and it has done well. If all you have is solid surface floors it would likely satisfy your needs. My rating is not compared to an upright vac but to what my expectations were. Lastly pet hair is just tough. My Shark Duo has been by far the best vac to pick that up. If they could put that technology into a robot vac it would blow most of the competition away
