Great Sound, Lousy App
The receiver is a great improvement over the stock one. It really potentiates good quality speakers. The lights are great too, and the vintage looks is amazing. The app, though is bloatware, and the extra bass distorts in many cases. The external mic is inconvenient, but I guess that’s the price to pay for a better experience, but I still wish it were integrated into the box.

I purchased this MVH-S622BS to replace my old JVC head unit that lost it’s mind. After a week of tweaking the sound to my liking, this unit has the best sound quality of any head unit that I’ve ever owned. The color changing is cool as you can match it to your vehicles lighting or to your style. Blootooth is seamless and takes a noticeably shorter time to connect than other units that I’ve seen. I don’t use the USB port so, you can be the judge of that. This unit has a ton of features, some that I’m still discovering. It has the absolute best sound quality at it’s price range over it’s competition ( and some higher end models ) that I’ve ever heard, even clearer than Kenwoods Excelon line. Beware of the bass boost feature because it can be too strong for some speakers. Overall, I’m really enjoying this unit and will say that it is indeed a quality unit.

Another phone app 🤪?!
Just another phone app, everything you do in life now is an app it’s very annoying. Did tune of the radio make it more simple absolutely however I’d be happy with a bass only,mid only,treble only eq control. The supplier and pioneer talk about the cheapness of this radio but put eq options in only a person with a music career would understand it took me over an hour to set up eq. Is it nice absolutely, does it work the system,absolutely. Does it sound nice,absolutely.

Sounds great, very minimalistic compared to other systems. My wife love it in her Hyundai Tucson. Paired with the METRA wire harness and METRA Dash kit looks perfect. For the price , great product.

The stereo looks fantastic and once you get it playing music it sounds incredible but the user interface is really really fussy and temperamental. I ended up returning the unit because it would never sync up with my iPhone 15 to the point where I could initiate a call from the radio itself which was one of the main reasons I purchased it. I contacted Pioneer support but never heard back from them. It would never allow me to browse my phonebook, recent calls or allow me to program the buttons on the unit. Also, the BASS but option was really frustrating … If you press it instead of toggling back and forth from your previous music setting it would forget your previous setting and you’d have to go back into the app to reactivate this affects you were using. I did try the reset button to make sure the unit was in a state to be properly configured but that did not help tried it twice.

For anybody who is interested, sub rca output clips at 46-47, which is disappointing if you do not run external amp for speakers. Sound quality is ok, but I expected a lot more for 150 bucks for non-video stereo. Also be careful not to disconnect rca when radio is on.

Great Radio Head Unit
Even without a wire harness adapter, splicing the wires between the unit and the vehicle was very straight forward. Most vehicles seem to have a universal wire color code for the radios. Many detailed customization options between audio, display color(s), and preferences. Drastic improvement over the stock radio in my 1996 Toyota Camry. This radio will fit basically any vehicle with a double din slot.

I got this very specificly because it has the multiple rca connections and I am upgrading from an pioneer mvh-x36bt, I thought…. I installed this unit and was disappointed the more I listened to it. I previously installed and entire alpine speaker upgrade and have multiple amps and subs arrayed. This unit just made them sound horrible for mid range, it’s flat and I’ve tried everything. The subs rca are over powered I feel; knocking bass harder at low/mid volumes. Over all it’s not a bad radio I would recommened it but it wouldn’t be my first pick it’s more “flashy” than performing. Looks like I’ll be switching back to my MVH-x36bt, pioneer did that unit perfect in every way except including a rear channel rca.

Since Amazon removed questions and answers I bought 6 units to try. No manufacturer supply any infor,, just pictures. Anyway, Pro, Finally a unit that can change font colors. Sounds good Cons, Fonts, screen and scrolling is a joke. Verys 70s alarm clock like. The menu is more of a joke. the manual is a joke,, what is MIX TRAX and make it stop.. after a 10-15 second the screen begins scrolling, changing colors and and garbage.. Just stop,, no one cares about this junk. It sort of advertises all the features of the phone and i can not make it stop. My android connects, imported contacts but still can not make or receive a call. There is no fast way to find anything in your contacts via the radio. No mic, no search. just the volume knob can not see files/albums on a USB drive. you just have to click up and down forward and back. Volume knob is slick and if you turn it to fast it does not register. ex turn slow CW and volume goes up ~15, Turn it the same distance CC faster and it goes down 5. there are a multitude of other incredible cumbersome features but not worth wasting anymore time on it.. Good luck if you choose this unit,

The newer stereos seem to be without control over treble, mid, and bass. The only control you have with this unit is you can add bass. If you download the app there’s a few presets available. The app seems cumbersome, sometimes it connects and sometimes I have to restart the unit and app. So if you like getting in your car and messing with the app for a few minutes before you take off, you’re good.

Excellent for my Mazda 3 Sedán 2007
This pioneer double din radio is excellent for my Mazda 3 2007. I already suffered with other chinese radios. I would recomend this all the way. It is extremelly efficcient, modern and I love the app, you can change colors, audio, totally use everything from your phone (Iphone or Android) by connecting via bluetooth. The radio feels strong. The package was delivered on time, perfect conditions with no complains at all. Thanks again!

As others have said, the display is very dim. The key lights are seemingly too bright though. The radio itself functions pretty nicely and the Bluetooth connection isn’t quick, but it does hold the connection. The included mic works very well with not a lot of distortion mounted just above the rear view mirror. Wish the screen was a little brighter for my son’s car, but he seems way happier over the stick crap radio.

It died after 8 months
I loved this little stereo! It was easy to install, it worked. It worked consistently, the sound was great and I even got used to the app. It looked great & was functional in the ways I needed. Can you tell I’m heartbroken? Sadly, after 7 months it stopped connecting to my phone. I have tried everything. It just doesn’t work anymore. The radio does work, so I could use radio if I wanted. Unfortunately, I’m in a media desert and I don’t listen to country or gospel so I don’t use the radio. When I bought this, I read a handful of reviews that said it stopped working around 6 months. I can’t say I wasn’t warned, but I expected better. Much sad.

Not the actual “Pioneer” you may remember
This thing should be embarrassed to be called Pioneer. It is the same or worse as any $39 double din HU. Plasticky, not really double din but the “mini” size chassis. The display is not “hard to see in the sunlight” as many reviews say, it is basically too dim in any light to even really be used. The wiring harness is undersized, loosely connected wires, comically short lengths. It exudes cheapness in every aspect.

Exactly what my 05 Silverado needed. Sound improvement actually surprised me. Note : the aftermarket harness doesn’t support the radios power wire so you will have to tap into your AC unit for power. Very easy to do.

Perfect fit for 3rd gen T4R
Some people say they can’t see the display because of glare. This radio is wired to be bright when headlights are off and dim when headlights on. With headlights on in daylight. You can’t see display. Check your wiring. I like this radio. Sounds much better then my stock old JBL. I still use an I-pod so plug in front is great.

So far this radio, is great, for the price and kind of quality it has, its perfect. Might not be the top of the line but I’d say its close. I had a very easy installation, it fits perfectly in my 2004 silverado. I had bought new speakers before and they still sounded like garbage until I bought this and its like I got new speakers. Crazy stuff Only 4 stars because I’ve had it now for 5 hours.
