Doesn’t clear codes
I bought this so I could clear the check engine codes and turn the check engine light off, because the codes aren’t anything crucial, and I’d like to know if anything else goes wrong in the future, but it failed to clear the codes. I tried both with the engine on and off, as the instructions say, but the check engine light is still on, and the codes still come up when I do a scan. Debating returning it.

Saved Me Money
Took my car to the Hyundai dealership when my check engine light came on but before I got there the dashboard cleared. The mechanic couldn’t find anything and couldn’t duplicate the issues I was having: car vibrating and moving/ jerking while parked or foot was on the break, fumes coming into the vents, engine speed decreasing while driving, car attempting to shuttl off while driving or powing off while idle. With it being a safety hazard, the check engine light would only appear when I was in the car and not around a mechanic shop or an Auto Zone. So I bought this item to read my car when driving and it caught it in real time the day it arrived. It captured error message PO304 (If ition coil replacement) which saved onto the app that synced onto my phone. I wanted to ensure that it read like the OBD diagnostic machines at Auto Zone so I checked to see if they were able to get a reading which they could not. Their system showed everything was fine under the hood of the car. So I set up an appointment with my dealership for the next day, gave them my reading on my gadget, and they found a burt coil in the spot that was read. Saved me money because I took my car to them two weeks prior, and they wanted me to fix multiple things that was out of my budget without the possibility of knowing whether it would’ve resolved the issue. Dealership showed me the coil that was fried and replaced in less than an hour. Referred my sister who recently bought one similar that charges eight dollars a month for service on using their app. Set up was quick, efficient and came with instructions for those not tech savvy. 10/10 Time to set up app and link to phone- less than five minutes 10/10 I have a 2012 vehicle which couldn’t show two of the diagnostics for oxygen. It states my car was too old 🙁 0/10, but would work on newer models Found the issue by pinpointing the location by scanning the cars computer in real time saved under data for review. Apparently you can download spreadsheet regarding your vehicle history as well. 10/10.

A Must Have for Every Car Owner!
I had a smog check due and my old scanner, which I bought from T-Mobile, was indicating that I had an emission issue, although my engine light was not on. I decided to get the OBD2 scanner to double check everything. I am glad that I did. It did an extensive scan and reported no issues. I passed my smog check. It is also nice that this scanner runs on blue tooth because my old one had to have a separate phone line to run. This saved me money. There are a lot of things that I love about this scanner. It is easy to use even if you don’t know anything about cars. Any diagnostic or emission problems are explained and it even tells you what you need to know on how to fix the problem. It also provides your car’s information, checks your battery and provides live monitoring of your car. When your engine check light goes on, it is reassuring knowing what is wrong with your car before taking it to a repair shop. I highly recommend the OBD2 scanner!

Battery Drained in Minutes – Not Recommended!
After using this product, the batteries in two of my cars drained completely. I only used it for about 3 minutes on one car and 5 minutes on the other… Definitely wouldn’t recommend it. Thankfully, I had jumper cables, or it would have been a real problem
