I was originally given this as a gift and didn’t touch it for about 11 months until my truck battery died. This thing still held power after all that time and my truck was jumped within 2 minutes. Works OK but this newer version has some unwanted changes
I used this on my second vehicle and it worked as advertised. So I ordered a second unit for my second car. What CHANGED: The newer GB40 has a micro USB-C on BOTH ENDS of the provided cable! So you have to get a charger with a USB-C female port. Or an adapter. My older GB40 had a USB-A on one end (and the needed USB-C on the other end) so I could charge it easily with the various USB adapters I had around the house. Also there wasn’t any instructions in this newer version. Just a booklet in every known language that had all the warnings and precautions. I know this isn’t rocket science but I kinda want to be sure I’m doing it right. Had to use the internet for the info. Product itself=5 stars No instructions, and un helpful cable = 0 stars.

I know almost nothing about cars. This jumped my girlfriend’s car during a snowstorm when she was stuck. Easy to use with no real car knowledge. Exactly what I wanted. I’m keeping one of these in my car from here on out. 1 jump used very little of the battery. So it should still work fine even if it’s been in your car for a few months uncharged.

This product failed to start my car several times and I had to use my full size jump box and the car starts right up. This product fully charged won’t start even a weak battery. Do not buy this. It will leave you stranded.

Arrived fast and works great, but you have to be careful how you plug the clamps in!! Although one side is round and the other is square, it will still plug in either way. I took some Whiteout and drew a line on plug and charger so you can see in a glance if the lines match up.

Nice Device But, Be Aware.
The unit is easy to use and it does the job. It charges quickly and it comes with an adapter for use in the car lighter. My only complaint (and my fault for not researching more carefully) is that the charge cable does not have a standard USB plug. The unit is designed to accept a USB plug that can then be connected to another device to be charged. However, to charge the unit itself requires an adapter that does not come standard with the package. All of may adapters could accept a standard USB plug only. I had to buy another adapter separately.

Should have bought one a long time ago. So much easier than jumping the old school way using another vehicle. Jumped my Subaru with a completely drained battery, and it started right up. Only issue is it doesn’t come with instructions, and the 2-d code did not work for instructions, but I was able to find YouTube videos from the manufacturer on how to use it. It is important to watch the manufacturer’s YouTube videos on how to use it and not rely on videos from random people.

It was useless ! It was useless ! When I need it, the most it failed. It wouldn’t even turn the car over and it was not a big car ether. The weathe was 32 not below 0 and I had a card give me a jump to get it started I would avoid buying this product. I wish there was a way I have tested it before I may purchase. If you must buy one, make sure you get the maximum amperage 1000 A is not enough

Overall terrible product. The first time I used it worked fine, although extremely slowly. Both the second and third times I attempted to use it, it was charging my battery for over 30 minutes before eventually dying without getting my car started. For the cost of this item this is a massive let down, especially given they claim it handles “20 starts”. Take your money elsewhere.

Works Great and Easy to Use
I got to use it for the first time today. It is very easy to use. The cable only plugs in one way, then you connect the well built clamps to the battery. Turned it on, and it immediately started my 4.3L Blazer. I hadn’t used the Blazer in over a month, and the weeks of below freezing temps had taken their toll on the battery. This is so much safer and faster than using another car to jump it. I would highly recommend this.

The User Manual is Ridiculous
I’m sorry but this user manual substantially impacts the usability of the product and deserves this poor review. This user manual is so ridiculous it’s actually laugh out loud funny. First, the type is sooo tiny! It’s about 1/32 of an inch so you better have really good eyesight. It gets more ridiculous when you realize that only 3 pages of the 300 page user guide are English. The rest is written in languages no one in the US has ever heard of. You couldn’t print a separate manual for”Cestina”, “Svenska” “Eesti” whatever that is? You had to print every language known to mankind in this manual and then make the type so tiny it’s barely readable? I can’t even read this manual because the print is so tiny! Ridiculous. I’m returning it.

I bought this back in 2017 and just now getting around to writing a review. I still use this charger every year on camping trips. I bring it with me just in case and we’ve had to jump start a neighbour’s car once, however we mainly use it as a power bank for our phones and the occasional light if we need it. We stopped using the carrying case since it just fell apart and was basically a sack. It’s been almost 8 years now and it still holds a decent charge, I’d recommend buying it for emergencies.

Won’t boost a totally dead battery
Wouldn’t boost a totally dead battery. Had to get one of the bigger ones – the ES5000 – which boosted my battery. if your car lights up a little, then this may work. But if nothing registers, you’ll need a more powerful booster. (Or call AAA, and they have one of the bigger boosters.) Btw, my battery went dead because the dash light got left a few days while parked on a NYC street.

I’m dealing with a hard to diagnose parasitic drain somewhere in my car, these new cars have so many electronics it’s hard to tell what’s causing the issue. But it means that if I don’t drive my car for a few days, the battery dies. I bought a couple portable jumpers and tried them all, and NOCOs are leagues above the competition. This product is genuinely incredible. This can start my car four or five times before going dead, and of course, with USB charging, I can just charge the jumper itself off of my car once the engine is actually started. Pure self-sufficiency in emergency, as long as I have a tank of gas. On top of that, the flashlight is great, and the usb out for charging my phone might come in handy one day. But honestly, the main draw is just the ease of use. All of the other portable jumpers either required me to set the voltage setting, or made it unclear to what degree they were charged, or included instructions for jumping that were more complicated than just “red to red, black to ground, turn the key”. This one really is that simple. It would be a steal at twice the price.

I haven’t used the light feature because I have no need for it at this time, but I’m sure it may come in handy to persons who don’t travel with Led flashlights. Excellent buy.

Missing User Guide
The product is nice and compact, but unless you have experience with jumping a dead battery, you just have to assume you know what to do as there wasn’t any User Manual in the box!!! There is a large warning manual in multiple, multiple languages, which is basically there I guess to protect the manufacturer seeing they don’t tell you how to use the product in the first place. So, for all the other people that didn’t get a user manual with the product, and I have seen other reviews saying they didn’t get one either, the first thing to do is charge up the unit. You need to plug it into a newer USB-C port, not the standard USB port that has been around for years and years. They should at least provide a link where you could download an instruction manual.

A reliable and easy to use little day saver
Many people probably buy a jump starter, toss it in their vehicle, and don’t end up using it for quite some time. Perhaps by pure coincidence, I ended up running my battery down shortly after buying this NOCO and quickly got to test it out. Extensively. It turns out my battery was the 7 year old OEM model and losing all charge killed it completely. So, for a week or so I was resurrecting it 2-3 times a day to get to and from work. I can confidently say that this NOCO unit works well and very quickly. I was able to get my car moving many times before needing to be recharged. I also had the opportunity to use it to resuscitate a “bricked” Nissan Leaf, which required using the scary manual override button to get it to detect properly. I still don’t really understand that feature, but it seems to have worked. My one complaint, after clamping onto the contacts so many times, is that the ridged plastic tips of the cable clamps chipped several times. I would suggest switching to a rubber-like material for the tips to avoid this from happening. Other than that, this is a great product.

Died After 6 Years
After just over 6 years being kept at reasonable temperatures and only being used a couple of times, this unit failed to work. It was fully charged but failed to turn over a low compression 1.8l engine that was at 65F. While $70 for 5? years of serviceable life was cheap insurance; the performance and value weren’t enough to motivate me to buy a replacement NOCO product. Keep in mind this unit only has a 24Wh battery, not much larger than a modern cell phone battery. Like most jump starters the battery isn’t a good fit for powering devices despite what the advertising suggests. Rather it is intended to transfer that small amount of energy in a fraction of a second to turn an engine over.
