I bought several NOCO Boost Plus GB40 over the last couple of years . 2 are going strong after 2 years, both having bailed me or my daughers out numerous times.. 1 conked out after about a year, without ever using it to jump the car. It would no longer recharge. I live in the southern US, so it wasn’t exposed to extreme cold. When they work, they work great. Bought a replacement in December 2024. Note that the new one changed USB In from micro USB to USB-C. The included cable is USB-C to USB-C. The documentation and notes on this listing still say micro USB. Just a tip.

Great product to have in your trunk
This is my 3rd Noco Boost plus I have bought. I got one for myself and loved it so much that I got another for my wife’s car. Then for Christmas this year I got one for my brother and sister in law too. I’ve used it many times and it’s nice to have to help other people too in case they’re in a weird spot where they can’t get a car in to jump start. Can’t recommend it enough!!

I bought this to keep on my sailboat in case my auto-helm drains the batteries and I can’t fire up my little diesel. It occurred to me to figure out how to use the device before I have an actual emergency , and it worked like a charm! Highly recommend this for boat or auto, just be sure to keep it charged up!

Did not come with wall adaptor compatible with 12″ cable that come with in order to charge it. Can’t find the correct adaptor online will have to go shopping locally. Disappointed! Updated 2 days later. Found compatible adaptor locally and was able to charge unit until I got a green light.

I do not have triple A, and didn’t want to pay for a towing service. It worked every time I had to start my car to get it into the shop. Had to buy a new battery, but this bought me time. Be aware that you may not be able to charge right away
I already have one of these and have had it for at least 5 years. It works really well, so I picked up a second one for a Christmas gift. The issue is that the new one comes with a micro usb to micro usb charging cord. Also, it does not come with a plug or car charger. So, unless you have a wall plug that accepts micro sub, there is no way to charge right out of the box. Luckily, I have my original micro usb to standard usb cord from my old unit, so I was able to charge the gift. Otherwise, you’re going to be making a special trip to the store to get a different wall plug. Super annoying.

No instructions and a USB-C cord
I ordered this because of all the good reviews. It worked on my car first try, got it running again. My main complaints, however, is that there are no instructions included and the cord provided is USB-C. I found that to be odd and made it work. I would improve the product by including English instructions instead of that thick warning booklet and a regular USB charger. Otherwise, a great product. It did what it was supposed to do.

I haven’t even tried it yet but it is disappointing to get different items when they should have been the same. The cable differences may not be a big deal but at least include the car charger (especially since this is intended for a car). I will probably just return the 2 with missing parts and buy a different one.

I charged it for 10 minutes until full, went to my vehicle ( it’s a beast) put the clamps on, it started right up! Seamless. Absolute must have. Very lightweight, excellent value for the money. Great Thing to Have in the Car When Battery’s Dead!
Also will power up electronics or devices with a plug when the power’s out! Bought on sale on Black Friday. I haven’t needed it yet, but my son already has one he’s successfully jumped his car with. Comes partially charged. Didn’t take long to bring it to full power (with USB phone adaptor that worked). It does come with usb cord, but not one with a plug. Based on a review, supposedly recharging every 4 months is sufficient. Pretty simple to use. There are a few great explanatory videos on YouTube.

So my old portable jump starter needed replacing. And lucky me my car battery needed to be jump started. Ordered the GB40 and it was delivered the next day. I appreciate that It came fully charged so I was able to jump start my car right away. The cables on this jump starter are way better than the old one I had. It’s a strong grip and the ends are thinner to better fit the tight space around the terminals from the battery. My old jump starter came with a durable carrying case. This one only has a thin bag. I’ll be using the case from my old jump starter to store this GB40. The only negative thing I can think of so far is the IP rating. I think it’s rated at IP65. I’m not sure how waterproof/resistant it is when the little plastic covers that are suppose to protect the USB ports don’t stay in place. Even tho the GB40 cost more then my old jump starter I’m happy with it.

Purchased this 6 months ago on sale, figured it might come in handy. It did. Woke up to a nice brisk 5°F morning and my car would not turn over. This booster pack was in my trunk, cold as could be. Better safe than sorry (twice!)
You know those things you pick up, certain that you’d only need if you didn’t have it, and the moment you did you’d never find a use for it? Yeah, this isn’t one of those things. Somehow we’ve managed to need this thing twice in as many days, and it works absolutely beautifully. We have an Impreza, and apparently several Subarus have issues with battery capacity and draining, but you’re fine so long as you’re careful. We were not careful, but luckily we had one of these in the trunk. I’d say it’s better to have and not need, than to need and not have.

Unplug or leave plugged?
Not sure if anyone else experienced what I experienced and that is, I left it plugged up in my vehicle and when it was time to give someone a jump, I noticed it wasn’t fully charged so I’m assuming I’m supposed to unplug it after it’s fully charged? And I’ve done that before but then it dies so that’s why I leave it plugged in at all times and it’s been a few months I guess since I’ve had it so I can’t return it and didn’t pay for warranty. Bummer!

Works on the gasoline engines that I’ve tried. Not enough to jump a 2L diesel engine even at full charge. Trying to turn it over three to four times drained the battery completely. A bit disappointed.

This Noco GB40 is to weak to start a 5.3L V8 LS4 engine, I had to use it twice and it struggled both times, I do not recommend this product for LS V8 engines..
