Saved me thousands
While shopping for used cars from private parties I was able to avoid several lemons thanks to this unit. I couldn’t organize a mobile mechanic on short notice so doing this myself was the only option . Even with vehicles that came out clean after doing a Carfax report (you’ll need the VIN number), when checking out the car in person this unit spit out lots of error codes. The seller tried to pull a fast one but this unit saved me from wasting money on what seemed to be a good deal. (BMW X 6 literally had 40+ fault codes including very severe ones). I was able to finally find a great vehicle without error codes and I bought that one. My mechanic later ran a more thorough check in it using his much more expensive professional OBD system and it confirmed the findings of this little gem – all clear. So yeah, really great small investment that could potentially save you a huge amount of money. Note: this box obviously cannot scan stuff like brake rotors or other physical parts that must be inspected with the eye so having a good mechanic with you is still best, but a scanner like this is a must have considering many bad issues are actually with a car’s internals / electronics. So either way, you need this thing. As for lining it up with your phone and the app, that takes like 30 seconds. Not a big deal at all.

This is a first-rate product. It paired immediately with the only OBD cars I own, 2014 F-150 and a 2018 Soul. Gave correct diagnostics, supports a library of pro repairs for the source of the reported code. If you want a solid method to check codes, do E-check pre-tested, clear transient codes, check operating parameters this is a great choice. Already paid for itself in garage repair costs. Even if you elect to let your trusted local garage do the work you already know what’s wrong. If you decide to DIY you can be confident in the success of the repair.

* UPDATE* Was unable to connect to my 2017 Chevy Volt. Got the blue light then a flashing red light. Meanwhile, as I’m navigating around the app trying to figure it out, I was fighting pop up ads at every move. Returning the reader. I’ll just get a plug in scanner. Too bad too, was looking forward to this one’s features. Just got it today. Haven’t used it yet, all I’ve done is download the app. In the 5min I’ve had the app, I’ve been inundated with some G D QR code app ads. I own 2, Don’t connect! Wouldn’t buy!
I don’t care what anybody says… I have two of these one older and one newer (9mo old) both purchased off of Amazon/eBay… I bought because of all the great reviews, but I have tried to connect both blue drivers on Apple and android phones that are brand new. I’ve tried all of the online troubleshooting guides. I’ve tried on four different vehicles with both different types of phones and both blue drivers. I have spent 20-30hrs trying to resolve problems on what should be plug and play device. I have called technical support to no resolution other than to escalate my problem to someone else and then don’t get contacted back. I just got off the phone with blue driver support again and while the lady on the phone was nice she couldn’t do anything but “escalate” the issue again. My original one lasted 3-4 years reliably and then had connection issues so I bought a new one 9mo ago and now neither will connect. I’ve tried on 2003-2019 vehicles, reloaded the drivers, etc etc. infuriating to know I’ve spent this much time and BlueDriver didn’t even offer to swap me for a new one to try and resolve the issue. They might think the run around will fatigue me until I give up… In 48 business hours I will be calling my credit card company to reverse the charges. Yes that’s a thing! There are laws to protect consumers from lemons and one option is to reverse your credit card charge in order to leave the company on the hook instead of your wallet. Spend another $100-$300 and get a good reliable Autel, Innova, etc.

Keep in mind this is not like the professional system scanners in the several hundred to 1 thousand dollar range. That being said it’s very good for the standard OBD2 readings as well as abs, airbag, traction control codes as well as live signal monitoring. Much better than the ELM327 based units.

Great product so far
I just received this product about an hour ago. I was able to clear half a dozen codes from a 2017 CRV that didn’t register on the FIXD sensor at all. All warning lights were gone before I could pull out of the neighborhood. I also cleared the TPMS light on my 4Runner from the app. The light did not go off but I did not drive the vehicle afterwards.

BlueDriver Pro is a great auto maintenance tool.
I purchased the BlueDriver Pro based on the recommendation of a co-worker who was able to diagnose an issue with his car that his mechanic could not find. I’ve run the scan on 2 of my 3 cars to see what is currently there and am happy that nothing needs attention on either one. I highly recommend this tool to use when looking for what is affecting your vehicle performance.

I am no a mechanic, but was brought up to fix the general things on engines. Knowing how to do with modern cars is a lot different than know what to do. I believe that car manufactures don’t want people to be able to diagnose their own vehicles just to make customers come to them for repairs. When those light comes on in my truck, I don’t have to guess or worry if I can make it home or to the mechanic. With the BlueDriver and my phone, I can find out what the code is and quickly find out how serious the problem is. From there I can get more information on how to fix it, decide if it is something I can/want to tackle, and a general idea about the cost of the repair. When I talk to a mechanic, I can say “I have X code on my truck.” instead of “I have a light and this is what it is doing”. Frankly this device should be standard on all vehicles in my opinion.

TOTALLY BADAZ
This little gadget diagnose my problem about my battery light flashing on for 10 seconds and going off but I didn’t believe it because the fancy equipment from AUTOZ*** and O’reilly and the mechanic shop didn’t recommend a new alternator. After weeks of no progress with the pros I decided to change my alternator which was the problem all alone! Bought this as a replacement for an old OBD reader whose manufacturer has basically called it quits. Turns out, there are much cheaper options that are more convenient anyways! Love this module, easy Bluetooth connection, and was pleasantly surprised with the live readout features. Helped me diagnose a thermostat error and direct the repair shop to the appropriate fix after they recommended trying a few different options. (They were concerned about a thermostat in the transmission possibly being bad also, but after reviewing information provided by this device, they agreed it was not an issue. Was hopefully an honest mistake, but either way, I was very happy that I had some data from this device to back me up.)

Won’t scan ABS codes on many cars.
Bought because it says it scans ABS codes. Found out it only does that on some cars. Otherwise it seems to work well and tells you more than a cheap scan only tool. If ABS worked on my application I’d have given 5 stars. Check before you order if that’s important to you.
