For years I have always purchased my vacuum’s based on “price”. For some reason I felt the more expensive vacuum was better quality I I WAS ABSOLUTELY WRONG !!!! – – It took this purchase of the Bissell® CleanView Swivel Vacuum to proved to me price means NOTHING. It is expertly designed – very easy to use – to empty – to clear the hose of blocks. All the parts click into place perfectly. The suction is unbelievably strong and the hose is nice and long so I can reach up to the ceiling with no problems. I THINK BISSELL DESERVES A THUMBS UP FOR THIS ONE !!!!!
I bought this in September 2024, and the drive belt broke in January 2025. Drive belts and filters are not covered under warranty. Given that these are prone to break, you would think the design would facilitate replacement – but no. Rather than a simple system without screws, you have to remove 7 screws to get to the brush area. In my case, dog hair had built up underneath the belt cover and eventually broke the drive belt. In the picture, the lime green plastic cover on the left is where the belt is. Note that you would have to remove the cover screws to clean the brush or even to simply check for dog hair build up. I bet the screws aren’t under warranty either, since stripping them is all too likely. Otherwise, I love how good a job this does pulling up Golden Retriever fur off the carpet. It is a shame none of the product designers considered whether it is simple to maintain.

Good suction
This vacuum has great power. The dirt container is very large. Never had a swivel type before and not used to it but it’s OK. The attachments are convienent and the stair/upholstory attachment works great. Leaves the carpet looking much cleaner than our old vac and I don’t have to cut out hair from the roller like the old one. It’s a bit heavier and like every vacuum the cord is 6″ too short to make it end up wrapping correctly (EVERY vac has this problem – why can’t they figure it out?). All in all I’m very happy with it. Does a great job and the price was right.

Great suction but…
I had my shark for 9 years and finally it was time for a new vacuum. I have mostly wood floors with rugs so I didnt want to spend too much on it. I only used this Bissell twice now so I might change my mind after I get used to it, but so far: Pros: Great suction. It pulled stuff out of my rugs after I just used my Shark the day before. But you have to be a little more careful on strings and rugs. It is extremely light weight and rolls around smoothly. Almost too lightweight because it rolls quickly on the wood floor, almost too much that it is wild. And lightweight almost might mean chintzy plastic. I am afraid the step-on latch will brake after a few uses. Bagless canister is great. Cons: some of the above are kinda cons too, I guess, but anyways. I like cord vacuums because they suction power is so much better, but this cord for this one is kinda short. I have a large open concept living space and I have to unplug more often to move it. Might contemplate a small extension cord to stay on it. Also it doesn’t lay flat to sweep, like for under a bed. It lifts up the suction if you push it too flat. The extension wand is in a bad place and knocks over the vacuum when in use. I haven’t found one vacuum that puts this tube in a good spot yet. Lastly, the little hand held vacuum attachment is so strong, I am afraid to use it on certain things because it might pull strings, etc. Overall, great suction, but I am on the fence if I should keep it and get used to it or just return and try something else. Will update.

Enjoyed it while it lasted. But broke in a year. We have a robot vacuum for the majority of house, which makes it worse because it wasn’t used that much. Smelled a burning and this wheel was melted. Disappointing to have to replace so soon.

READ THIS if your pet molt’s hair like mine…
I had ONE criterion for buying a new vacuum: would it easily get my husky mix’s super fine black hair off my white carpet. If it helps paint a picture of how much she sheds: when I go snowshoeing with her, I always know our way back because there’s a trail of black hair in the white snow and a halo of it every time she shakes. If the sunlight is just right, I can literally watch her molting as she walks. I set up my litmus test by not vacuuming my white carpet for 3 weeks. The vacuum I’d keep would be the one that leaves a white stripe through the black hair. You can see my photos – I got the white stripe with this vacuum. I did a TON of research before buying this, and considered the pet-specific Bissell, the Eureka pet vacuum which also had a stunning amount of 5* reviews, as well as the Dyson V12 Detect Slim, which was 500% of the price. Here’s my assessment and summary: PROS: – Successfully leaves a white stripe, with one up/back arm stroke of the vacuum. It’s even better if I change directions for the nap of the rug, and do up/back lengthwise and widthwise, and up/back from both diagonals. If you don’t know what “nap” is for rugs, carpets, google it. It’s a critical element for effective vacuuming. – Easy to maneuver. I’m almost 40 but pretty fit, and I did not find this hard to wield or heavy. – Cord stores pretty easily – Attachment for stairs worked like a dream – The “eraser” tool gets all of my upholstery types – The settings for carpet pile are good and worth paying attention to – Did fine on my 100yr old hardwood floors without any mods CONS: – The tilt doesn’t allow it to fully get under my coffee table – The hose to which the attachments fit is, as other reviewer state, rather short. This means I have to carefully set the vacuum on the steps and bring it up one by one as I use the “eraser” tool – There was definitely a burning smell the first 3-4 times I used it. Heeding the reviews of others, I bought replacement belts at the same time as purchasing this (leveraging Prime’s “customers also buy…” suggestion for the correct one, which will allow me to easily re-purchase through my order history if needed in the future) Given how easy this is to use, I will be vacuuming much more frequently and that will probably also yield better results. I did see a review from a Corgi owner who was unsatisfied with this. I grew up with 4 of them, and I do firmly believe this vacuum would do it. The reviews for this definitely seem mixed, but I’m thrilled. Given the mixed reviews, I definitely purchased the Asurion protection plan. I could probably do my whole house and its various flooring with the Bissell, but I have an old house, and the power outlet situation isn’t set up for the modern living things like vacuuming. So I ALSO purchased the “Dyson v12 Detect Slim” for about $150 less, on an Amazon Prime sale. I use that for the areas where I don’t have outlets nearby. Pricey? Yeah. But the sanity and time I’ve recovered is 200% worth it.

I love this Bisell! This is my first Bisell! I have a black lab who sheds a lot and 2 black cats! This vacuum does the trick! My carpets, hardwood floors, tile is so much cleaner! The cord is long so I only have to plug it in twice upstairs and twice downstairs for a raised ranch! I use the pet turbo eraser for the yellow comforter on my bed and it gets all the black cat hair up! It gets all the dog hair off the dog bed! I don’t use it every time on my stairs as it cumbersome…i have 4 hardwood steps and 4 carpeted. The attachments are great and great suction! My only complaint is that I have a backache afterwards from using it but I figure it is worth it and I am using some muscles that I have used in a while! I am going to purchase the Bisell hand vac in the future!

Great suction on pet hair
I have five dogs that shed minimum of twice a year all long hair. I originally had the shark navigator. I went through two of them and this little vacuum picks up here better than they ever did and it’s half the price. I totally recommend it. I read reviews where they’re saying. The attachment to the hose is too short well it truly is short but if you use the long skinny attachment, it makes it longer. I have attached the navigator suction tube and it has doubled in length. So if you have another vacuum that has two pieces, definitely try it and you won’t have any problems with extending the tube that it came with. Also, the collection cup is large and you do not have to keep emptying it

Lightweight and exceptionally long cord!
I cannot days enough good things about my new vacuum. Since I broke my arm/hand, it has been difficult to keep my floors clean. From the first time I plugged this vacuum in, I knew it was a wonder. Floors and area rugs look brand new, and the long cord allows me to plug the vacuum in ONE TIME for each floor of my house! What a life changer for me. I can manage this vacuum with one arm, and it pulls out so much dirt/hair out of my carpets. Thank you Bissel! I’ve been searching awhile now to find what I needed. I also have an inexpensive robot disc for when I’m too tired to vacuum but this item works great, and picks up what the robot didn’t. Robot disks cannot go up the stairs either.

clogs easily
I bought this product twice. The first time it clogged and became basically unused after 6 months. I thought this was a fluke. I was wrong the second time it clogged after 1 month. We have 1 pit bull who barely sheds and this vacuum cleaner can’t handle it. Wouldn’t buy a third time…

I just got this product today and was so excited! It worked a WONDERFUL for the first 5 minutes and picked up every fiber of pet hair left behind from my last vacuum on my carpet and I’m literally talking 5 minutes then the belt snapped. So disappointed!!

THE POWER IN THIS VACUUM IS AMAZING!
Put this this together in 4 minutes.. I have 3 cats.. I had a previous vacuum priced at over $700. 00 .. this vacuum came behind and picked up 2 full cups in this small area in the photo!!! The media could not be loaded. I used this vacuum Bissell for a few seconds only for the first time as an experiment, sparks and smoke came out and it stopped. “I used it on a dry ceramic floor”! It’s the worst purchase I’ve ever made! When I saw the sparks and the thick smoke that came out of the vacuum, I was very afraid! Even though I only used it for a few seconds, I did not make any mistakes. It was a very scary and bad experience. DO NOT PURCHSE THIS ITEM !!

Amazing vacuum for human hair and pet hair!
After having an apartment, and a poor quality vacuum for five months, i bit the bullet and bought this nicer vaccum to help pick up extra hair from my cat and I. When i ran the first cycle, my little 10’x10’ living room, there was already an entire canister of dust, dirt, fur, hair, etccc. nasty stuff came up from those carpets, good vacuum

Not Recommend For Pets
I have 2 cats and 1 dog. I’m pet sitting 2 cats (total of 5 animals in my house right now). I bought this vacuum because my 27 year old vacuum finally kicked it. I’ve had this for two weeks. I used it once to vacuum my entire home. When I started to used it again, I noticed that it was kicking up dirt into the air. I stopped and washed the filters and holding container. Tried again. The problem was an internal clog. Already. And a huge design flaw!! You need ro remove the bottome plate to access it. The hose does not come off. And it curves. After removing what I could with my fingers, I removed what I could with a chopstick. I reassembled the vacuum in the hopes that I could stretched out and jiggeled the hose in the hopes that the remaining hair would be sucked up. Nope. Took the vacuum apart again. Used the mop handle to further advance the clog to the ‘bend’ in the hose. Then had to dig at it with the chopstick from the top because it was too far down to reach. Ridiculous. And what I removed was only fur. But it has good suction.

I bought this vacuum after my previous Bissel pet vacuum final gave out after about 6 years, never any problems with it. So, assumed this one would work as well. Nope, fur gets clogged up in vacuum belt EVERY time I use it. Should not have to dismantle it every use to remove fur from around the belt. Very disappointed. Waste of money.

No longer durable or reliable
I’ve purchased this vacuum cleaner numerous times over the past several years and it’s always lasted at least a year or two without issues. I like supporting Bissell because they do so much to help shelters get dogs adopted. I have two large fuzzy dogs, so I know going in that an inexpensive upright vacuum cleaner isn’t going to last super long. But still… I just purchased one in November, and already in January it’s not working. We’ve cleaned the filter, unraveled dog hair from the roller, etc., and still there’s no suction and smells like burning motor. I shouldn’t have to pay a junk hauler to take away a 2 month old vacuum cleaner. Disappointing!!

I vacuumed last night with my old vacuum (Hoover Air) and shampooed my carpet’s with my month old carpet cleaner. My new vacuum got delivered today and I am not only amazed but so grossed out and the amount of dirt and hair this thing picked up out of my carpet. My carpets look more shampooed today than they did yesterday when I cleaned them. Not only that I purchased “blemished” for $50 and there’s not one blemish on this thing. Couldn’t be happier with the purchase!

Worked for barely a year
It worked great when we first got it. We only used it maybe a handful of times. Got it in November 2022, went to use it in December 2023; power went on but no longer had any suction. Replaced the belt, but still no suction. Manufacturers warranty is only one year & we had it for 1 year and 2 weeks when suction stopped, so company will not replace it. Very disappointed.

You know that you’re getting old when you’re excited to get a new vacuum for Christmas! I have had the same vacuum for years so yes I was excited to receive this. I’ve only used it a couple of times but it works really well. It really sucks! Lol. I could not believe how much stuff came out of my carpet. My old vacuum really was not doing the job like I thought it was. The only minor thing I would say about it is that that the wand is kind of stiff and doesn’t stretch very far. But I’m thinking maybe it’s new and will get easier over time.

Do Not Buy
As numerous others have posted, the height adjustment knob does not work. It’s not broken, it’s inherently impossible for the knob to adjust the height of the wheels with the way it is designed. Because you can only run it at one height on carpet, often too low, I have had to replace the belt multiple times. I did not get a defective unit. I looked at a floor model in a store to discover the same issue. Pick something else.

Belt roller seized up and burned through belt
The vacuum was used a total of one or two hours before the belt roller seized up and burned through belt. Now I have to replace the roller. I could understand if it had been used a lot, but this was the third time I used it. I was not vacuuming debris, only a little bit of cat fur .

Works well when it doesn’t break
Purchased in November, and by January I’m looking for a new vacuum. I do have two dogs, and although this says it is for pet owners, the pet hair kept wrapping around the belt making it so the brushes stopped spinning. This week the belt finally snapped. I’m getting a new vacuum instead of getting a new belt for it because I am tired of having to unscrew the bottom to unclog the belt area. I am really disappointed because when it did work, it worked well and I really liked it. I can also add I wasn’t thrilled with how the hose situation worked, it was always a pain to wrestle out to use.
