For years I have always purchased my vacuum’s based on “price”. For some reason I felt the more expensive vacuum was better quality I I WAS ABSOLUTELY WRONG !!!! – – It took this purchase of the Bissell® CleanView Swivel Vacuum to proved to me price means NOTHING. It is expertly designed – very easy to use – to empty – to clear the hose of blocks. All the parts click into place perfectly. The suction is unbelievably strong and the hose is nice and long so I can reach up to the ceiling with no problems. I THINK BISSELL DESERVES A THUMBS UP FOR THIS ONE !!!!!
I bought this in September 2024, and the drive belt broke in January 2025. Drive belts and filters are not covered under warranty. Given that these are prone to break, you would think the design would facilitate replacement – but no. Rather than a simple system without screws, you have to remove 7 screws to get to the brush area. In my case, dog hair had built up underneath the belt cover and eventually broke the drive belt. In the picture, the lime green plastic cover on the left is where the belt is. Note that you would have to remove the cover screws to clean the brush or even to simply check for dog hair build up. I bet the screws aren’t under warranty either, since stripping them is all too likely. Otherwise, I love how good a job this does pulling up Golden Retriever fur off the carpet. It is a shame none of the product designers considered whether it is simple to maintain.

Suction stopped after a while
Bought this vacuum thinking it would last a while. Nope! The suction is completely shot, it runs over dirt and dust and pet hair but doesn’t pick it up. And it’s not like I use it exclusively on my carpet — I have a Roomba as well. It’s garbage after 2 years. Time to upgrade to a stronger brand.

Broke after 3 months

I used this to clean the couch as pet hair doesn’t get off easy as it is and this worked perfect! Until the vacuum completely stopped working out of nowhere and it was not used as an every day, everywhere vacuum. Great short term purchase, horrible long term purchase.

Good pick up power
The vacuum picks up a lot of dust and fur and it’s easy to maneuver with the swivel and light weight base. However, I wish I had read more carefully that it is not an automatic cord rewind. By the time I realized I couldn’t live without that aspect, I had already discarded the box which makes it a hassle to return. Would definitely opt for the same vacuum with that additional feature.

Good vacuum
Pretty decent vacuum. Havent had any issues so far. The attachment that you use to clean couches or stairs isnt the best. You have to apply a lot of pressure for it to pick up dog or cat hair. Other than that, it has different settings for the base of the vacuum to go lower or higher. If you need to clean under a bed, double click the grey pedal and the vacuum will go lower. So far it cleans my carpet pretty well. Ive had the product for 2 months now.

Good vacuum
This vacuum is a replacement for my old Hoover. This Bissell is a LOT quieter and works just as well if not better. We have a husky…which means it’s a constant battle to win against the shedding hair. That said, this Bissell does not have a way to stop the brushes if I need to use on the short nap rug. Only con.

Did not last a year
Followed instructions to unclog hose, was not picking up at all. Plugged back in and it started smoking. When we opened the green plate up to clean out the hose and replaced it . Restarted it it burned up. Started smoking. This is a piece of junk. Never again

Do not buy. Motor shaft gets so hot it melts the belt and gums up the brush.
I thought I did my research well before purchasing this vacuum. However, I failed to notice that many, many people have the following issue with this particular vacuum. While vacuuming, the motor shaft that spins the belt gets SUPER HOT. So hot that it actually melts the belt where it contacts it and deposits the melted rubber onto where the belt contacts the brush. Bits of rubber also splatter in the well near the motor shaft. I first thought maybe the original belt or brush was going bad so I bought a replacement. I thoroughly cleaned the vacuum and replaced the brush/belt. The vacuum immediately started melting the new belt — same results. Do not buy

Does great, but beware of motor.
I feel as though there was a reason why this was on sale, whether it be older model or complaints. This thing is a beast just to say the least, much better than my older bissel which i had to get rid of after a year. This was much more powerful, especially with carpet and a Austrialian Shepard mix shedding like crazy. BUT after only a week, the brush roller stopped and the motor started smoking. I made no altercations and did not go over anything unprecedented. Do, definitely a sign that this is my last Bissel. Was a nice run tho! Lol i rather not explode!

Great product but avoid buying used
I’ve only used it once but am impressed so far. Definitely great at sucking up pet hair. However, I purchased the item used through Amazon hoping to save a few bucks but was disappointed when the item arrived without the pet turbobrush attachment tool as pictured. Amazon support was unable to send me the part and instead issued me a measly 20% refund. I ended up paying the same amount for the product brand new and having to place a separate order for the missing part. Save yourself some time and the hassle of dealing with Amazon support and just buy the thing new.

A Bad Mother Sucker
Vacuum works amazingly. I have 3 dogs so I’m vacuuming at least every other day. My old vac made the rugs and carpet look clean but this one actually cleans them for real. Don’t even have to dust as much now either cuz the vacuum is getting most of the dirt out of everything. If you have dogs/cats it’s a must have. Especially for the price.

standard vacuum, yet terrible on my hardwood floors
i will be returning this. the vacuum was easy to set up, rather bulky in size but that gives it the benefit of a wider vacuum pattern for floors, makes it more difficult to reach in tighter spaces like the bathroom. It did a very good job on my carpets, however, I live near the beach and when going over hardwood flooring with some light sand outside my front door it was not picking up the small particulates missing small grit or throwing it around. For a new vacuum on the lowest height setting for bare floor it did not perform. I am sending it back due to this.

Smaller than I expected
for $120 it is a great vacuum. It’s small and fairly lightweight. Ideal if you have any physical difficulties cleaning. It’s easy to maneuver. I was shocked at the stuff that this vacuum picked up after thoroughly sweeping 2 days ago. For the price it can’t be beat.

Great inexpensive vacuum
I just bought a cordless vacuum for 400 dollars. I was disappointed in it’s performance. Not as expected
As I read the other wonderful reviews, I’m questioning whether we’re talking about the same product. From day one I thought it sounded kind of loud and like something was off. I should have returned while I could have, but I gave it a chance. 8 months later I’m really regretting this purchase. When you turn off the vacuum, it leaves a pile of dirt that must be cleaned up some other way. It seems like cleaning the filters after every use is about the only way to have it run efficiently. Do not recommend 😫

Broke within 4 months
This vacuum is the worst. We bought this in late August 2024 and we are now throwing it out in the New Year January 2025. This worked great the first few times, them the brushes stopped rolling, the filter stopped filtering, etc. My husband cleaned it out multiple times, fixed the filter, everything. It has a constant burning smell and stopped picking up dirt, fibers, pet hair, etc. It just pushed everything around. We are extremely disappointed because we have only had this 4 months and used it once a week. This was not worth the purchase and will be looking at other brands for our next vacuum. Never again will we buy this.

Not the vacuum for me….& I think most
I’m a low thirty year old with the cleaning skills of Monica Gellar. So I’m picky but also I’m thirty something so naturally I’m broke which is why I went with this option. I genuinely don’t understand why companies choose to not make functional, affordable, but most importantly long lasting items. I get corporate greed but this world can send a man to space but not create a vacuum that lasts longer than a man….ya know. To preface, I live alone, clean every 3-5 days & have a Labrador. I have owned a Shark & an Oreck. Both couldn’t do what I needed, shark belt broke repeatedly with no way to fix & oreck is good but has no attachments & isn’t good on hardwoods. I have a mix of hardwood, carpet, medium pile floor rugs & ruggable-esque runners in the house. Things I liked about this product: the large canister, decent suction, bristles on the outside of the cleaning head. First thing out of the gate, the smell was straight up burning plastic. I turned it off to see if I missed anything on the assembly but nothing. The smell kind of eased as I went but then I met the first ruggable very low pile runner & boy did they absolutely hate each other. I switched all the settings from 1-5 thinking one of them would work. No chance. The suction seemed to be decent on the hardwoods & carpeted rooms. However, I had to unplug it three different times in an 1800 square foot house to be able to reach all of the rooms. In addition, you can’t vac under a dining room chair without the front of the vac coming up off the floor so that defeats that purpose. Finally, I get to the last room & sure enough, the belt broke. On my very first use of this vacuum. So no, I wouldn’t recommend this. I am returning it & I am once again disappointed in the capabilities of a dang vacuum.

I am not sure that they do but they should add to the product description that the vacuum will repair carpet nap. While it is not 100% repair it is a substantially noticeable difference. I think that it is the action of the triple brush on the roller.

I hate buying things like these you know the things around the house for chores. I had my old vacuum for a life time. I even took it to a repair place to get fixed once. I was at the point there was no more fixing they stopped making the model and i could get any of the repair parts anymore so I knew it was time a new one. I love this vacuum cleaner as it does a wonderful job of picking up pet hair! Unfortunately, I got a new living room rug which is relatively thin and even when set at the highest position it sucks the rug up making it very difficult to operate the vacuum cleaner. Does anyone have a suggestion?

Great vacuum for the price
It’s lighter weight than I imagined based on it’s size. Easy to maneuver, good suction, place to hold the 2 attachments. Great purchase for me. Different heights for carpet-> bare floors has to be changed at the base and the cord wrap is low so probably not a great choice for an individual with limited bending range.

I have six dogs. My prior dirt devil was good. But this vacuum pulled stuff out of the carpet that I was baffled was in there. I do recommend it for those people with dogs. The craziest thing about this vacuum is that it also does hardwoods great. Also, against the wall, it gets the dirt. Many vacuums require you to break out the stick to get against the wall. This one sucked up the filth against the wall. I do recommend it and would buy it again. I should have bought it earlier.

Best Vacuum I’ve ever used!!
This vacuum is amazing! I previously vacuumed my bedroom before using this one, and this is how much it picked up in one go. Looking at my floor you did not see any of this hiding. I have only experienced this type of clean from a heavy bulky vacuum. Not this bad boy! It’s super light but has a powerful suction. I also have a skittish dog and she was unbothered by this vacuum. This is the first review I’ve ever written so you know it’s a good vacuum.

Pet hair clogged the belt
I’ve only had this vacuum for 7 weeks. We have two springer spaniels. After about 5 weeks or so I noticed that there was a burning smell and the brush wasn’t turning anymore. I took the SEVEN screws out and found a big hair ball under the belt. Cleaned it out, used it twice more and am now having the same issue. Worse, I’m supposed to box it up before returning it to Amazon. I don’t have the original box and I definitely don’t want to pay for one big enough to ship it back! I’m very annoyed and wish I had dug deeper into these reviews, as I now see that others have run into this same issue.

Save your money – buy a better vacuum
I’ve had this vacuum about a year and the key problem is it’s not meant for pets. This might work is you have hairless cats or dogs but if they shed even a bit, don’t waste your time. When it was new I used it a few times and I noticed that the pet fur was creating problems with the roller. I’m not new to this, vacuuming and pets, so I was really surprised at how the roller gets stuck so easily. Today a quick vacuum turned into a mess and now my house reeks of burning rubber from the belt, which kept getting stuck. Had to unscrew the cover and remove fur and there was a bunch stuck. Think it’s partly due to poor design. Thought the issue was resolved tried to vacuum more but the roller kept sticking. Now I need to buy a new vacuum because this one can’t cut it. Don’t recommend.

Holy smokes!
I just got this vacuum and it is Amaze-balls. I have a 5 year old Bissel Pet Cleaner vac that I have maintained and used the day before to vacuum 2 rooms with. It did ok, or so I thought. I was so excited to use my brand new vac that I vacuumed the same 2 rooms I did the previous day, and THE AMOUNT OF DIRT AND HAIR that the new one picked up blew my mind. This thing has amazing suction, the tools are all easy to use, it came pretty much assembled and ready to roll right out of the box. It’s not too heavy to carry up and down the stairs. The bin empties fairly easily (I still had to pull the hair out and take out the middle section, like with my old Bissel so I was used to it). But this thing works like gangbusters. Great value, must have for pet owners. If it holds up as long as my old one, it’s money well spent.

I’ve had this vacuum for a couple months and am very pleased with it. Before buying this Bissell, I bought a more expensive Shark vacuum but ended up returning it for a number of reasons. The Shark vacuum had a molded plastic U-shaped tube at the end of the vacuum hose which made using it with accessories difficult in tight spaces and the trapezoidal shaped dust bin was hard to clean out. The Bissell 2252 seems to be much more practically engineered. There is no U-shaped tube so cleaning with the brush or wand accessories is much easier. The dust bin is a straight cylinder with a totally removable vacuum tube in the middle, so it is very easy to empty and clean. If you have pets, this vac does an excellent job of picking pet hair off the floor. You will be amazed at the amount of hair this picks up. One of the hardest things to clean is upholstery fabric that has pet hair embedded in it. I used this with the hand-held “turbo-eraser” to clean a camping mattress that had picked up a lot of hair from my dogs and, although not everything came up in the first pass, it did do a very good job of removing dog hair. All-in-all, if you have pets, this is a very good vac for keeping your house rid of pet hair and at a price considerably less than some of its competitors.
