For years I have always purchased my vacuum’s based on “price”. For some reason I felt the more expensive vacuum was better quality I I WAS ABSOLUTELY WRONG !!!! – – It took this purchase of the Bissell® CleanView Swivel Vacuum to proved to me price means NOTHING. It is expertly designed – very easy to use – to empty – to clear the hose of blocks. All the parts click into place perfectly. The suction is unbelievably strong and the hose is nice and long so I can reach up to the ceiling with no problems. I THINK BISSELL DESERVES A THUMBS UP FOR THIS ONE !!!!!
I bought this in September 2024, and the drive belt broke in January 2025. Drive belts and filters are not covered under warranty. Given that these are prone to break, you would think the design would facilitate replacement – but no. Rather than a simple system without screws, you have to remove 7 screws to get to the brush area. In my case, dog hair had built up underneath the belt cover and eventually broke the drive belt. In the picture, the lime green plastic cover on the left is where the belt is. Note that you would have to remove the cover screws to clean the brush or even to simply check for dog hair build up. I bet the screws aren’t under warranty either, since stripping them is all too likely. Otherwise, I love how good a job this does pulling up Golden Retriever fur off the carpet. It is a shame none of the product designers considered whether it is simple to maintain.

Be Careful – This Vacuum Can Tip Over Very Easily
Product can tip over very easily and present a safety hazard; the center of gravity is not engineered properly; the “flexible” hose is so stiff that to stretch it more than a foot beyond its “at rest” state will tip the vacuum over. I have tried to stretch the hose repeatedly to make the hose more flexible and it does not help. It has some good features, but it is not a properly designed vacuum with regards to preventing tip overs.

If you are looking for a great sweeper, this is it! We have a long haired dog and 2 long haired cats. I thought my carpet was clean until I used this sweeper. My carpet looks like I actually scrubbed it, not just vacuumed. I had to empty it 4 times in the family room alone. I could not believe it! It was insane!

Good Product!
I have had this product for about 3 years. I have two large dogs that seem to never stop shedding, and this little bissell just keeps picking it up every day. I like the swivel steering, I’m getting old and can’t get down as well, and the swivel lets me get into places without getting on my hands and knees. Good product for the price!

Waste of money
The media could not be loaded. It’s been difficult to find a vacuum that cleans my carpet. I was excited to see if it really worked. As you can see in the video it doesn’t pick up nothing instead it put the dirt back on my floor. I tried all the settings and still nothing. I’m very disappointed in this product for the price…

UPDATE: Excellent vacuum, excellent company
UPDATE: Bissell customer service confirmed that the part I need is no longer available, but because my vacuum is still within the warranty period, the company is sending me a new vacuum. This is more than I ever expected and has confirmed my original confidence in purchasing Bissell floor care products. Plus, as I said originally, the CleanView Swivel Upright Bagless Vacuum is truly the best vacuum I have ever used. Thank you, Bissell. # # # This Bissell is an amazing vacuum. Works perfectly and picks up more dirt than I ever imagined. Unfortunately, I used it only 5 times when the dirt tank compartment slipped out of my hands and fell to the floor while I was emptying it, breaking the PLASTIC clasp on the bottom that holds it together. My fault. I dropped it. However, I was shocked to learn that the dirt tank has been discontinued already and I can’t find one anywhere! Bissell confirms the dirt tank has been discontinued, although it is apparently still selling the vacuum. So I am left with a useless wonderful vacuum unit. This is completely unacceptable. I have always considered Bissell a reputable company, but clearly the concerns here about durability are warranted.

When I first got it, it seemed fantastic. I have cleaned it regularly, but suddenly it seemed to not spin well. The belt was fine, but started smelling like burnt rubber. This last time it got so hot, I set it outside and just tossed it.

Let me start off by saying I have a Dyson. It’s not broke.. I just haven’t been happy with it since I got it. I vacuumed my bedroom thoroughly with the Dyson, then again with the Bissell and the picture is how much it missed. The suction on these is much better. Naturally, I got excited and used it on the stairs with the hose and that bad boy packs a powerful punch. Almost dangerous. Almost. That was huge since my Dysons hose was too straight. I could only use it for high places. I read other reviews saying you have to clean the hair out of the belt area…. I didn’t mind this. My daughter and I have thick long hair and we also have a dog who sheds like crazy. I’m used to this. I’ve had to do it with every vacuum. Great price. Excellent find.

Where do I start ? I just received my vacuum.It took no time to attach 2 screws to the handle and attach the hose.I own 2 Dysons and a Shark. I used the one Dyson on my living room rug yesterday. Judging by the amount of cat hair that the Bissell picked up today ,I wasted my time yesterday.The amount of cat hair that was in the canister was shocking. The canister is very large and very easy to empty. My other vacs are getting old but for the price of between $300. and $500. I expected longer life from them.NEVER again will I pay that kind of money for a vacuum. I had to adjust the height for the pile of my wall to wall carpet. If the vac is hard to push,you will need to adjust.The cord is long ,which I appreciate.I did not find it to be noisy. I hope I continue to love my new vac without any problems. A terrific purchase!

How did I manage before this vacuum?
Holy cow am I happy I got this! My vacuum was at least 10 years old and, though the canister would fill with dirt everytime I vacuumed, it was no longer picking up the hair (maybe it needed a belt?). I went back and forth between this and another model and finally made the decision to get this one even though a few reviewers had issues with the belt breaking. It is incredibly light, the swivel feature is awesome and it is super easy to empty the canister. I could not believe how much dirt it picked up from my carpets and I enjoy using it so much I almost with I had wall-to-wall carpet!

Three years ago I went cordless. I’ve been through two vacuums in the last 2.5 years. I’m convinced that corded vacuums will always over power. I’m disgusted to say that this is what my cordless was missing. This is all cat and bunny hair. Not only did it deep clean, but it revived the fibers in my once matted down carpet. Amazing suction at half power setting! I’m afraid to see what it would do at full power!

Failed in under 10 months
This vacuum worked great for 9 months. I take Care of it. Then one day the roller stops working. Check and clean the belt. Still doesn’t work. Buy something else. Otherwise in less than a year you’ll buy something else anyway. Also, on the bare floor setting the spinner kept spinning. Ironic.

But to my surprise today when I opened the Bissell vacuum I got for Christmas and put it together and began to vacuum this is what came out of my carpet and floors. I wish I returned it in the time frame. I used it three times and first time I noticed it wasn’t picking up dirt at all but my reason for buying it was mostly for the hair so in that moment I didn’t decide to return it. I used it for dog & cat hair then picked up the rest with a broom but using it today for the third time, it literally blew away all the fur everywhere and the tools it comes with to change the brushes are awful there’s no suction. I placed my hand over it and the suction power is SO weak even at the highest level you can put it. I went with the reviews and was disappointed. Invest your money on a vacuum that cleans ur pets fur but also dirt and doesn’t throw around the mess because of the air coming out of the vacuum.

Just in general a cheap, junky vacuum. Doesn’t suck things well, doesn’t pick up anything on stairs, and is difficult to push. Also didn’t notice that it didn’t have a retractable cord before purchasing.

Definitely not made for homes that have pets
The belt comes off the sweeper part on any type of carpet. (Yes I put it on the correct setting) Having to take it apart and put the belt back on after almost every use is ridiculous. It also doesn’t suck up all of the hair which makes it get jammed on the bottom. The suction is great and I think this would be a great vacuum for a house with very little carpet or rugs and NO ANIMALS.

Best Pet Vacuum Ever!
I bought this vacuum for my lower level, so that I would not have to drag my heavy vacuum up and down the stairs. It is lightweight, quiet, and inexpensive. I really like the 5 levels of height, allowing me to go from tile to wood to any type of carpet. The Pet TurboEraser attachment removes all pet hair from stairs and furniture! I would definitely buy this again, especially if my upstairs vacuum goes kaput.

Fantastic Vacuum
This thing is a workhorse! I have a GSD/Husky with ALL the fur, ALL the time and this vacuum has never clogged up. I didn’t have the canister fully attached one day and it still cleaned the floor! However, I do wish it would stay upright when using the hose as it has a tendency to tip over.

A Lemon?
BISSELL makes a good product, but I think we bought a lemon. Carpet thickness dial doesn’t adjust enough to handle higher pile carpet. I could barely push it over my area rugs. It works great on hardwood and tile floors, but we wanted a powerful vacuum specifically made to handle pet hair and dander embedded in the carpet. And the corner tool doesn’t fit anywhere on the vacuum like the other tools do. Also, this vacuum is very heavy for me to lift and carry upstairs. We will continue to test it, but it could find its way back to Amazon for a refund. Disappointing.

Bought this vacuum on sale to replace a cordless one that broke. Let me just say, the difference in suction power (especially the pet attachments) has me amazed! We have a Jack Russell who loves to shed all over our couch and with the pet attachment I cleaned the whole couch back to new in minutes with minimal effort! Very very satisfied! Will update if anything changes, but it’s a thumbs up so far!
