I live in the country and have been bothering my neighbors to do that for me for several years and felt like I should be able to do it myself instead. Not Built to Last
I’ve had this compressor for about 2 years and 1 month. It was fine the first couple years. Of course now that it’s outside of warranty it has failed. It no longer holds pressure or works. Not worth nearly $200 for a product that won’t last even 2 years. Everything is manufactured with such poor quality these days. You’re better off going to a gas station and filling your tires there instead of wasting money on this. Craftsmen used to mean decent quality but not anymore.

I bought this compressor from the Amazon warehouse. Upon its arrival I opened it up and saw there was no manual included with this item. Operation for this item needs a manual to correctly use this compressor. I had to call an address that issue it took me a long time to have to download the manual for my use. After reading the startup recommendations, I powered up the compressor. As I had asked if this compressor had been checked out before delivery as it was resale from the Amazon warehouse, I was told it was checked out and approved for resale. When I started it up and used the handle at the end of the hose connected to the compressor, I found that there was a leak in the handle. I could feel the air coming out of the line and the handle connected at the end. Upon further investigation, I saw that there was a very large crack in the handle that holds the air compressor attachments that are sold with the item. This was on the very first day of receiving this compressor. I called Amazon and initiated a return explaining what I had found out about the compressor and how it was not working correctly. When I powered down the compressor and knew that I was returning it, I felt the confession motor and it was very hot. There is a drain valve for letting the air out on the underside of the pancake compressor tank. I opened it up to release the remaining air in the tank for shipping reasons and a bunch of water came out that was in the tank. It appears that somebody had used the compressor a lot and condensation formed inside the pancake air tank of the compressor. Once again I had asked if the Amazon warehouse had checked this item out? Very apparently not! I trust reselled items to be checked out for them to be working for resale value and purpose. This was not the case and I reported it before sending it back. Now I have not received Monies back to my account for this item and am still waiting. I strongly suggest Amazon check there Warehouse employees for not having done the job that they should have done before the item was resold to me. This may just be an isolated incident for quality control, but quality control is what was lacking for checking this compressor out before being resold. I have received other items from the Amazon warehouse that have stood the test of time and I am very happy with. This is not one of those items and the employee assigned to check out this compressor did not do his or her job or know how to do a fact check on the working compressor. I have reported all this before and hope this post helps other people out. Ask questions and make sure that we sold items are checked or quality control reasons of any item coming out of Amazon warehouse. Thank you for reading this.

Love Craftsmsn, but two in a row were defective
Amazon was amazing, they replaced the item the next day. First unit worked to 150psi, but the motor was noisey and had air leakage. The replacement worked to 100psi and shut off. This is a huge problem because the upper limit is 150psi; and the lower limit is 120psi. Defect I contacted craftsman thinking they would like to know that it was a problem, and they said because it’s still within the 30 day period to send it back to Amazon. Amazon, on the other hand said they wouldn’t replace it s 2nd time (in two days) and to contact craftsman. So that circular logic went nowhere. I was allowed to return it. Craftsman took my details, and an unexpected email said to expect a courtesy replacement with an estimated two week delivery. I didn’t expect anything, but two days later a new unit arrived. Motor sounded strained, but it did work to specs. We’ll see. 3/11/2024 This is replacing my loved porter cable compressor which was a work horse for over 15 yrs. (Died in a puff of smoke) Attached are some pictures showing it plugged in, on, but stopped filling at 100psi.

The Best Portable Air Compressor…
The Best Portable Air Compressor… that I have owned in the last 30-years. Quickly pumps the air up to 120psi and held the pressure for 2-nights with no loss. The Tank and line pressure gauges are accurate and easy to read when using doing some construction with air tools, the tank was able to keep up with the demand and had a very quick recovery. Recommended for those who want to use in a small home shop. A very good compressor and I am glad that I bought it!

As far as less likeable features go, they are pretty minimal! As other people have stated, this puppy is pretty loud. Nothing that will damage your ears or anything, but if your significant other or a baby is sleeping, you might want to hold off on turning it on. The safety release valve is kind of uncomfortable to pull, it’s like the rings on your key chain but with a portion of it bent outward so it’s kinda jagged to handle, but again, not a big deal. I imagine this is about as user friendly as it gets, so if this is your first time buying a compressor, this is an excellent choice! As tempting as it may be to buy a used one for cheaper, that is a bad idea! These cans are only made to last for so long, so be smart and stay safe! I highly recommend the red rubber ball, and I think you’ll like it too!
