This generator is underrated and outperforms anything out there. It takes care of all my work needs and I don’t have to worry if it’s going to handle the load. The fit and finish are great and its easy to transport. I recommend this to anyone looking for an easy-to-use generator.
specifications were unclear, but reviewers indicated the remote start capability was included. When unit received the 12v battery bay was empty and no remote fob included. Apparently this variant is pull-start only. Not sure yet if they can add kit with capability or if I need to return the entire unit – but working directly with Westinghouse to address.

I purchased this inverter after doing without power during hurricane Milton. This inverter is extremely quiet and easy to start. It starts on the first pull and even did so when I took it out of the box. I have it wired to the entire house as backup power including an interlock switch. Its lightweight and perfect for my application: I need to run two refrigerators, house lights, portable cook top, internet gateway and charging devices. The DB rating, price and the three-year warranty were the reasons I chose this model. I opted for manual start so that I wouldn’t need to worry about the battery.

Love this generator’s dual fuel feature. It is very quiet running on propane and I feel safer storing propane tank vs gasoline. That said happy there is a gas option. When needed start with propane and then get gas backup for longer use and higher output. Easy to set up, unit comes with all the extra items needed to run it. Very quiet and easy to set up
I was surprised to hear how quiet the generator ran as it wasn’t even as loud as the music I was playing when setting it up. The unit worked right out of the box and instructions were clear. The size of the unit makes it easy to lift or pull using the embedded handle. I didn’t put a load on it so the noise may increase. I also liked the easy battery charging port on the control panel. The cost is a bit higher than other brands but Westinghouse was recommended by several friends, and this unit can be used to run my PC/TVs given the clean current it produces.

Fired right up, very quiet, I love the remote start feature and the hidden handle to wheel it around. Gave it 4 stars only because the top plastic panel for spark plug access does not latch well and I thought the manual could be better as far as product specifications, operation, and maintenance.

Very easy to set up and quiet when running
Package received ahead of time in good condition. Set-up was straightforward and easy. The battery was charged and started the machine quickly. I ran it on propane for about 2 hours without a load and then gradually added several electric heaters and let it run the heaters for another 3 hours to break the machine in. It started without issue and operates quietly, just as advertised. This machine is to replace a 25 year old Troy-Bilt that runs fine but this should be much more economical. Very happy about the Propane fuel and remote control also. Completely satisfied so far and I would certainly buy it again.

Manual Choke
Manual Choke is not clearly defined in the instructions, and not marked on picture. It appears the unit will not start on propane alone. Must be started with gasoline, but able to switch to propane. Did not want to keep gasoline in the fuel tank, as I am unable to store gas in my condo.

Perfect for our needs in WNC
We live in rural WNC and this generator is perfect for our needs. Primarily wanted a backup source of power to keep essentials (especially fridge and chest freezer) running during frequent power outages – a lot of trees come down in these mountains ! Portable, quite but difficult set up
iGen4000c is the first electric generator I have ever owned. I didn’t need it until 2 hurricanes hit in a row where I live in Florida. POSITIVE: it is portable and quite. The remote control makes it easy to use. The help from customer support was clear, kind, patient and to the point. NEGATIVE: I couldn’t start it even though I followed the manual; and as usual I made one or two mistakes when trying to interpret it. My first language is Spanish, but I discovered that English translations are imprecise and even opposite to English. I’m sure they will correct them. In a general evaluation I give it 4 out of 5.

I did a lot of research of different manufacturers and models both online sales & stores. I was looking at Features as well as price. Of course everybody raved about Hondas but they are outside my price range. Next to those, time and again I found recommendations for Westinghouse. I chose the Westinghouse iGen4000DFcv Inverter Generator – Dual Fuel with CO Sensor. Out of the box (after adding gas and oil) 3 pulls and it started up. It’s quiet, dual fuel, has all of the key safety features, at an affordable price on Amazon. Living out in the middle of nowhere, having this is an answer to the very likely “what ifs”.

So far Excellent Product
The generator looks awesome. I did the 5 hour recommended break in procedure and felt the sound was quieter than expected for the large size capacity. I purchased this unit because it is dual fuel and I didn’t want to store gasoline (its intended for emergency backup). I used 2.5# of propane in 5 hours. Most of the break in was around 300-400 watts although I did run it up to 1500 watts for some time to vary the load as recommended. So far I’m very impressed.

Very quiet compared to my other generator. Smaller in size with overall width and height so it should fit in the back of my truck with the cover down. I will return to update my review once we use it. At first, just starting it up it seems to be of good quality, and I love the remote start up feature too.

Won’t Start – no customer service
This generator was defective and would not start. I followed the instructions and was never able to start it. I contacted Westinghouse customer support and that was about worthless. They told me they would have a tech call me back but that never happened. They did send me an email which I replied to but still haven’t heard back from them. If you want a generator that runs and customer service that will help you I would not buy this product. I would give 0 stars if I could.

Impressive initial quality out of the box with an impressive manual.
Quality and manual were very impressive, and everything needed to maintain the unit was included, even “break in” oil for the motor. I also noticed the company had its customer service number just about everywhere, quite different from most that hide it so you can’t call them when you need help. I had a minor question about the inverter, so I decided to try the customer service number. I was blown away as the representative was an American speaking perfect English!! The unit was made in Vietnam, but if the quality from the unit is as good as the service I experienced, I expect no problems.
