specifications were unclear, but reviewers indicated the remote start capability was included. When unit received the 12v battery bay was empty and no remote fob included. Apparently this variant is pull-start only. Not sure yet if they can add kit with capability or if I need to return the entire unit – but working directly with Westinghouse to address.

Incredible Unit!
Just experienced a power outage during Hurtican Helene. Not again! This unit showed up pretty much ready to go. I added oil and connected battery. Hooked up to propane tank and it started right up and ran perfectly. I attached a few different electric devices to put a small load on it. It worked great. High quality unit!

From day one this thing hasn’t worked right at all. I have contacted the manufacturer and their customer service sucks. If you want to wait an hour to talk to someone by this product, then the display hasn’t worked since I took it out of the box still waiting on someone from the manufacturer to get back with me to let me know what to do with this piece of crap. Excellent Emergency & Camping Generator
Purchased and used this generator after the impacts of Hurricane Helene in South Carolina. The dual fuel option came in handy during 2- hour gas lines. Ran perfectly and quietly. Very, very efficient. Didn’t think I needed the remote, but it sure was great not getting out of bed when I cycled the unit on and off. I would have to agree with another reviewer that the oil filling and draining could be better, but not enough difficulty to deduct a star.

No man needed with this machine! Three ways to start this puppy. Push button and remote tested! EASY! These were the main reasons for purchasing this model along with the two options to power/ gas and propane. Pull string not tested as of this review. Don’t put the entire bottle of oil in, it’s too much! Lesson learned, not a big deal. Easy access oil and battery panels, even comes with a power cord to keep your battery operational! Easy to move around with the handle and the wheels seem strong. My power flipped and I was excited to try this machine out, but the power came back on. I feel prepared if something happens when I’m without electricity. I even read you can run a camper on this machine! I’m very happy!

After hurricane Heleene passed, I realised that a generator should work out of the box. I should not need to tinker with it (Ok adding oil makes sense, but beyond that..) Bought two of these units, nothing but problems. Left me high and dry when the power ran out and a tree fell on my house. Westinghouse is a garbage brand and they do not deserve any money for their horrible products. Stop selling things people will depend on, you obviously have insane quality control issues.

Came broken and the engine will not run
The choke came sitting out of the panel. It was not attached properly. I can still pull the choke knob out. However the unit will start and runs really rough. Now it just starts and shuts down shortly after. The red overload light is on and nothing is plugged in. I have tried using gas and Propane and nothing works. I called customer service line and after waiting on hold for 15 mins the phone started to ring again and no one answered for 5 mins so I hung up. I have emailed customer service and I’m waiting for a reply. As of now this thing is a piece of junk.

This is a great generator for our camping in horse trailer. It’s so easy to start with the fob that is included…just push a button and it starts. Fill up and it runs for about 7 hours without having to refuel. Haven’t tried the propane fuel side of it yet. It listed that it was super quiet so we were hoping it was quieter than our friends we camp with but it wasn’t. Noise level and a really our only complaint with it.

Great find. The remote start feature is pretty handy and I love the push button start on the unit as well. Able to run the generator off of propane and gasoline which is totally cool. This device is significantly quieter than the older unit I replaced. The displays on the front of the unit provide great information while running the device. The box came with a quart of oil, therefore, when it arrived, I filled up the oil and put some gasoline in it and it cranked up quickly and easily. Also came with hose accessories for running on propane gas. The handle extends and collapses for ease of rolling it around.

The generator came in the box no problems, no dents or damages. Came with oil. Followed the quick start instructions, put the oil in, pulled the crank and started right up. Tested all the plugs and they all work fine. The best part is there is an Eco setting that conserves fuel while operating and also sets the generator to a quieter level. I’m a Westinghouse fan!
Just purchased the Westinghouse iGen5000DFcv, duel fuel generator to power our RV when full hookups are not available. Our RV is a 50amp unit so obviously I had to use the 50amp to 30amp adapter and it worked perfectly. On my first use, I powered up the “ducted” AC in the RV, turned on all interior and exterior lights and the generator showed using 25% of the available power. It’s a little heavy but one person can manage moving it around as needed. I really love the duel fuel aspect because I simply hook it up to the RV’s propane quick connect and I’m ready to go. This particular unit does not have electric start but it started on the second pull “out of the box”. I highly recommend this unit.

Great genny for the money
Luckily we didn’t have to use it in Hurricane Helene but it was very easy to set up and loving the fact that I can just hook up a 5g propane tank to it and run it. Means I don’t have to haul around gas as well. Bought it to power a few appliances and computers if power goes out and may use it for camping. What a Great Purchase!
So far this thing does everything I’ve needed it to do. I like how its lighter then the 4500 watt so you can still pick it up, but its got wheels too. Just did the break in period on it and tested it out on my little 19ft camper. I can run the AC unit on high and still run the microwave, lights and refrigerator. I tested out the remote. Left it sitting over night with the battery switch on. went out in the morning and started it with the remote. Fired right up with no issues. Now I can start it from inside in the morning and make coffee. We will see how she does over elk camp this hunting season.

Propane does not work- waste of money!
Generator runs quietly and does a nice job with the gasoline. Using it with the propane tank does not work – will not start when hooked up to propane tank. Have called Westunghouse numerous time to resolve. They sent parts with no instructions on what to do with them and were the wrong parts. Don’t feel like we shoild have to replace parts on a brand new generatir. Referred to servicer, but neither repair service works on the dual fule generators. Can’t return it because we’ve added gasoline to it. Waste of money!

It is quieter than I was expecting, it running my rv on half a load until I run the microwave but that’s pretty good because that’s the ac, fridge lights all on, also plan on using a lot this winter when hunting so the low noise levels will be great

Great investments
This is the perfect generator for my needs. It’s powerful enough to use here at the house if my electric goes off. And more than enough for a space heater and or a portable air conditioner for my hunting cabin. And being a senior citizen it’s still light enough for me to get in and out of the back of my truck. I will leave the unit setting locked up in the back of my truck with the topper door & windows open. Although the generator is very quiet anyway, this will muffle the sound even more. I will mount a weather proof electric junction box to plug the extension cord for an inside outlet. By doing this I wont have to run a cord through an open window. This is a big game changer for hunting season. And allow me to use my tiny cabin all 12 months of the year. Just breaking in the generator here at the house , I would highly recommend the Westinghouse iGen4000DFc with remote starter. Thanks for a great product at a very fair price ! Don in West Virginia

Dual fuel
Ran awesome, not loud at all. I used it for 3 days off and on while camping. When I ran out of gas approximately 5 gallons, I switched to propane which is wicked cool. Highly recommend it. A little heavy but the retractable handle worked well.
