Doesn’t work
This product is defective. I was so excited to get my new Shark after finally retiring my Eufy. I go through the setup, everything is going well, then it comes out of its dock and immediately stops and says “My brush roll is stuck”. I check the brush roll. There is no obstruction because it hasn’t actually cleaned anything yet. I take the brush roll out, put it back in, and see that the brush is able to move. Then it says the same thing. I check it a few more times and it still won’t work. I am so disappointed!

It does an okay job of picking up dog hair. The only problem is that when it goes over a rug, it deposits the dog hair over the edge of the rug. So, I end up with clumps of dog fur that I have to manually pick up by hand. I do not have this problem with a Competing product

This is our 4th robot vac and they all have done what is expected. This one however is very noisy. Out of the 4 it is by far the most noisy. We have ceramic tile floors and when it goes over the cracks it sounds like the wheels are very loose. The vacuum itself is also extremely loud. This is our first self cleaning vac and we love the feature but wakes us up when it empties. That being said it does a wonderful job while it works. I love the ease of use of the app. It connected to the wifi easier than the others.

So I absolutely LOVE this vacuum, when it works. We bought one and because we loved it so much, we bought a second one. The 2nd one was defective and never charged to be able to work. We returned it but the refund takes 30 days… when you spend $500 you kinda want to be able to have a working product and/or replacement asap.

Can’t schedule rooms
For years, users have asked shark to add a feature to schedule the robot to clean a room at a particular time. This is really an easy feature to have that the robot is already fully capable of. However, as of this review, the app can only schedule the robot to clean the entire house at one particular time of the day… thats it. Also the google and alexa integration breaks constantly. Shark should fire their devs and get competent ones that care about the product.

Vacuum Damaged My Furniture
I have had this for a while now and it functions half way decently but I am noticing that it is damaging my furniture and baseboards in my house by aggressively bumping into things. It has ruined all 16 of my dining room chair legs and scratched the paint as well as damaged my kitchen island. I would not recommend this if you have nice furniture that you care about.

Definitely a good purchase
This is my third robot cleaning machine. First we had a iRobot that was great but wore out after many years. Bought a eco vac unit that lasted 13 months then croaked now this Shark. The Shark is my favorite of the three super easy to use app cleans fantastic and mapping is terrific. Though we have a German shepherd and three Maine Coon cats this keeps the house very tidy the only issue is there’s no way we can get anywhere near thirty days between emptying the bin but that’s ok especially since I’m not having to buy bags. This thing is great if you’re on the fence just do it. Oh and this was the least expensive of the three we’ve bought. Definitely happy with this purchase.

Terrible quality, designed to break
This vacuum last one year and one day and the problems began to start. Now it’s officially completely useless. First it will stop following a map, then it’ll just turn around endlessly for 15 minutes before the battery dies in the middle of the room (as seen in the picture). This could not have felt more like a robbery. Don’t buy this product and brand at all costs. Save yourself the money. Anyone that voted 5 stars must have done it in within the first day of using it.

I’ll start off by saying I loved this vacuum. I have a Bernese Mountain Dog, Havanese and a cat. This picked up not only dog fur, but everything in between. We did the floor map and it was easy. The problem came when our vacuum rolled through something during cleaning. Knowing this was our fault, I called Shark only to ask how I could purchase two replacement wheels since that specific part was unavailable on their website. The representative said that specific wheel has been discontinued, and they could not recommend another retailer that might have it. I found two used ones on EBay, however the price on those equate to half of what the vacuum was. I would have preferred if the company itself could offer replacement parts for the products they offer. Although we purchased this item almost 3 years ago, we shouldn’t have to replace the whole vacuum.

Worth the money
Bought this vacuum a little over a month ago and it’s definitely helped me out with keeping up with the vacuuming around the house. Simply press the button and away it goes. Cleans one room at a time and once it’s done it heads back to its docking station.

It won’t go with the app, which is fine. However Every time you try to turn it on it’s a chore. It takes at least five minutes fiddling with it to get it to run. Half the time I get aggravated and walk off. Just get the broom out, it’s easier than trying to turn this thing on. Got my sister an off brand cheaper one and loved it. So I thought since I have dogs I’d splurge and get the self emptying one that cost five times more. Jokes on me! You turn it on and it empties instead of vacuuming, if it does anything at all. It is so much aggravation that it’s not worth it. If you can get it to start up it does a good job. It just won’t ever go. Way too much money for the stress using it causes!

I never got to use the sweeper, you must have the app. I got the app and the company that controls the app could not get the app to work. I made many calls to a foreign land and they couldn’t get the APP to work. THE APP CONTROLS THE SWEEPER. I sent it back and after approximately 60 days I FINALLY got a refund. Great for long haired dogs!
We have 2 Siberian Huskies and a chihuahua mix. They bring in so much dirt throughout the day, and the shedding is out of control. I was losing my mind trying to sweep the house 2-3 times a day because I have two small children that I want to keep the floors clean for. I did lots of research with all the robot vacuums on Amazon, and this one seemed to be the best overall. I am seriously SO glad I made this purchase. I finally feel like I’m not having panic attacks all day from my dirty floors. I run the vacuum during the kids nap times and at night when they go to bed. That also tells you how quiet this thing is. I previously had a basic model Roomba and it was soooo loud and bumping into everything. This Shark vacuum is 10x better. Cleans everything up, relatively quiet, empties itself, doesn’t bump into everything, and the ability to map your house and only clean where you want it to is so convenient. I’ve already raved about this to my family and they are looking at getting one too. I hope my review helped you make a decision to get this awesome robot vacuum!

True workhorse.
We tried two other brands of robot vacuums and this Shark is our third, so I think it is a good frame of reference for an average consumer. I really do not see any cons for this vacuum so will list only pros with some clarification. This model is reasonably priced and if you manage to get it with any kind of discount (we did), it is great value for the money. It is well designed and well built but this model feels a bit clunkier than our original self-emptying Sharks which are three years old. Cleans very well but we do run it daily because – why not? Ours is a somewhat heavy traffic household with multiple pets, houseplants, gardeners and so on. This vacuum manages beautifully however I do have to empty the container every two weeks, so for us it is an approximately 14-15 day storage capacity. The app is simply wonderful, really. Instructions are clear and easy to follow. You can add a vacuum easily, schedule creation is a piece of cake. We have a variety of floors – hardwood, wool area carpets, sisal rugs, tile and this vacuum works on all of them very, very well. Great mapping. Gets to every place it is supposed to, always finds the dock, follows “no go” instructions. If full, returns to the dock, empties itself and resumes cleaning till done. Impressive battery life, cleans for at least an hour perhaps can even go longer, cannot say. When it came time to replace one of our vacuums that refused to hold charge anymore (different brand and in all fairness it did last for six years), I decided to get another Shark. Very happy I did. Oh, also need to mention. When this vacuum arrived I could not find the snap-om side brushes. Seemingly looked and looked and finally called their customer service. Very nice guy asked to show the video of the box. And when I did, pointed out the brushes. I really felt like an idiot and hopefully reading this will save someone the same embarrassment. The brushes are in tiny reddish tinted plastic bag stuck to the packing materials. So please make sure to look closer unlike some other people….

I have 9 cats, a dog, an active hubby, and eight feral inside/outside/inside/outside children. We live on tile floors. We were sweeping 3 times a day. Mornings, midday, & just before dinner. I mop on Sundays & as needed (spills, uh-ohs). The workload he has taken off of us is immense. Brucie is now a part of our family. We sweep once a day to get any areas he can’t reach & he runs at naptime & at bedtime. He does amazing. Worth every penny. Our ONLY issue is he works too hard. Our cats like to play with mismatch socks. Every day or 2 Bruce eats one & then texts me there’s something stuck in his roller. Easy fix. Emptying his bin is so satisfying. Like…ROCKS, & fluff, & Dirt, & so much hair. Being able to send him to a certain room is also glorious. Say the kids did a baking craft; he can just go quickly tidy up the kitchen for me. I honestly love him. Mom’s should automatically be gifted Bruce at the birth of children. He’s TOUGH, he’s not as loud as some of these reviews make him out to be (but what do I know about normal noise anymore), he also…. “wont let you dooooowww-OOOWWW-oowwwN!” Stop wondering. Rollers cannot handle a dog that sheds
The vacuum only successfully finishes it’s program about 50% of the time. The other half of the time, it roller get stuck. I am constantly flipping it over and pulling dog fur out of the rollers. My dog (80lb Great Pyrennes) is a heavy shedder but I purchased this because it was advertised as having rollers that don’t get stuck up with dog fur. The 60day bin is also a joke. I’ll be lucky if I get a week out of it. It also cannot handle a .5″ quarter-round transition from hardwood to tile. It often gets stuck and just shuts off there. Lastly, it’s very loud! I run it during the nighttime and I hear it banging into the walls or getting stuck on the transitions. Would not recommend.

We got this over a year ago. It has stopped working. Of course it was super expensive. I loved it so much at first. It worked very well and very dependable for over a year. I was so thrilled and ran it often, sometimes once a day for a couple weeks. It did get stuck at times, but for the most part did a great job. I like the self emptying function. It is very smart. I love the convenience. We do NOT have any pets or small children. So it stopped working. I had to call customer service and have an incredibly long difficult conversation with them. It was excruciating. They told me it was out of warranty since it was over a year ago…They sent us a new battery though and that has not solved the problem. So I am going to have to set aside another couple of hours of time to problem solve again on this and call in. Very disappointing. We bought a eufy from walmart and the same thing happened to it at about the same time frame. We got a much cheaper battery through their customer service, far cheaper battery. And that totally fixed that issue. NOW, it isn’t as smart or runs as smooth and isn’t self emptying. But it was cheaper and the service call might have taken 5 minutes total. Sad.

Very frustrating and called customer service who stilll did not figure out there wasn’t a battery in the robot. It was just assumed that the battery was dead. Fortunately they sent one to me that was free of charge but very annoying that it was never included. Now that the battery is in the robot, it works great. But it was a journey. 😵💫🙄

What a disappointment.
I was so excited to get this, but was quickly disappointed. The app was communicating with the robot but for whatever reason it didn’t want to map my house. After googling the issue, it appears that I am not the only one this has happened to. I wouldn’t waste my time or money on shark products if this is what they have to offer. Check out Eufy or Roborock – The reviews say they have a better app/interface.

Not worth the money
At first I loved this little robot vacuum but as time went by my love started to dwindle. Lots of little things disrupt the vacuum. If you have pets it does not do a great job. Love just one flaw
Love the cleaned how quiet Clean Latifah (my vacuum) but it definitely does not hold 30 days worth of debris for a 2750sqft, with dogs and that is with bulky furniture and us sweeping. Although I didn’t not sweep purposely to test her our, none the less the container is small for 30 days. Still worth it for us.

I don’t usually write reviews, but I had to with this one. I have 3 dogs and a cat who all shed like crazy. This robot vacuum has made my life SOOOOO much easier. It keeps the hair down and my floors always look clean now. It is not very load at all and it’s battery lasts the entire cleaning. I have a 2200 Sq ft home and the downstairs is about 1100 Sq ft which it cleans in 1 run. I will never go with out this again.

Worked great first 3 months. Then…..
Worked great for the first three months. But then we would come home during the day and find it dead in various places. I’ve since caught in recently dying in near the same spots every day. Usually that would be within feet of the charger. Not a very happy customer at this point. Trying to contact CS to see what can be done. So much better than the competition
After running an older model Roomba for a little over a year, I got fed up with having to unjam and clean the rollers almost every time it ran. We have cats. So we have cat hair everywhere. Running a robot vac daily is the best solution to this, and it works well. The flaw with the Roomba design is the dual roller setup. It’ll ingest a catnip mousey in the blink of an eye…and then catastrophically fail. The roller would get completely covered in hair, and have to be cleaned off every use or two. So I ordered the Shark. Turn it loose, and it actually can intelligently cover every square foot of floor that is unobstructed (we have a cat who will make a point to lay down in its path, and sometimes prevents it from cleaning small areas). It only has one roller, and functions more like a vacuum than a Bissell type carpet sweeper. After a couple of months of running the Shark, I’ve only had to remove the roller once to clean it. The Shark empties itself, and I have to empty the bin maybe once a week, although it claims to last 30 days…I suspect that bit of puffery only holds true in cat-free households. A week without maintenance is perfectly fine with me. If I want to spot clean a section, I go into the app and tell it what to do, and it does it. And it does it quickly! This is the greatest thing since sliced bread!

3 horses, 2 dogs and sand everywhere and I love this thing. It makes me sooo happy. One of our dogs attacks the normal vacuum, is terrorized by it but the robot just acts like another dog and she completely ignores it. I love that I can program room by room and run it in high traffic areas without having to do the house. The mapping feature is worth the extra cost and not having to see dirt or hair on the floor is one of those small happiness’s no one should be without. 5 stars for this little guy.

Does not return to dock frequently enough
I like the app, it has some options, like the fact you can adjust suction power, or say vacuum a specific room. My main issue, and it’s a big one, is the bin inside the robot is super tiny. It only goes back every 30 minutes to empty it but bin fills in in 5-10 minutes. Once it’s full, does a pretty bad job. It also gets so full that it has trouble emptying itself once in a while. There is no reason to make the bin so small or at least I can say other self empty robots I have had twice the capacity. It doesn’t detect when it’s full, and you can’t change the amount of time so that it empties more frequently!

Needs cleaned every time I run it
The sweeper works well, picks up most of the cat hair and dust. I am unhappy with the fact that I have to clean out the dust bin every day. It is supposed to hold thirty days of cleaning but it won’t even run two times without being cleaned

Works amazingly well
This was a Christmas gift from me to me! It was very easy to set up and operate! It’s so smart and learns the rooms it needs to clean. It is very quiet and cleans very well. I don’t think it does the deepest cleaning as my shark upright, but it is perfect for daily quick cleaning. It’s like having a housekeeper!

Good robot vacuum but could be better, especially for the price
This is the first robot vacuum cleaner that I bought and it was mostly a good one while it lasted. I bought this vacuum on May 22, 2022 and it finally broke down in January 2024. Thankfully I bought the insurance plan that Amazon offered at checkout. I sent the vacuum in for repair but the repair center said if was not repairable so they refunded my purchase price in the form of an Amazon gift card. The return process was hassle free and the terms of the return agreement were met precisely. No complaints there. The operation of the Shark was hassle free at first. However, as the shark was used daily, some issues quickly became evident. The Shark is very good at picking up even the smallest amount of dust. This was most appreciated especially since it fount dust under furniture that a regular vacuum always missed. However, this meant that cleaning the shark became a weekly chore. There are filters on the base station as well as the robot that had to be cleaned thoroughly and often or you would receive an error that would not let the Shark proceed with cleaning. This was annoying because the self cleaning function did not seem to work as advertised. Another thing that could use improvement if the roller brushes did not become entangled with hair so easily. It seemed that the roller brushes would become stuck at least once every couple of weeks. When the brushes became stuck the Shark would not operate. It seems like there should be a way to design a self cleaning method for the roller brush. One other feature that I did not like was that the Shark could not be operated with the app unless you connected it to the internet. This is a huge objection for me, for security reasons as well as it eating up precious bandwidth. Also, the internet connection to the Shark could not be turned off, and the app would not work without the internet. However, I want to make it clear that the Shark will work without the app, it just will not be able to use any of the advanced features without it. The Shark would often get lost if it stopped working because of getting stuck somewhere or if the roller brush got clogged up with hair or other debris. Without the app, it was very difficult to find the shark because you would not even know what room to look for it in. It often was found under some piece of furniture or one of the beds. The convenience of having a robot vacuum cleaner was an eye opener for us. We have a 2yo toddler and this robot vacuum was a real time saver when it came to vacuuming up food crumbs dropped on the floor. If you have children or pets, you know that dirt just happens. That is why we decided to get another robot vacuum cleaner, just not the Shark this time. We chose another model that does not depend on the internet to use the app or the advanced features. We also chose a model that does not have a brush roller to avoid those hassles again. Also, the price is a few hundred dollars cheaper.

Would not recommend
I got this vacuum in November 2022. It has good suction, but that is the only good thing I have to say about it. This is the 3rd robot vacuum I’ve had and is the only one that will not go under the living room & bedroom furniture. There is plenty of room, but I believe the sensor on top can detect the furniture so it won’t go underneath. I have to vacuum there myself. It also doesn’t get against the baseboards. It stays about three inches from the wall. I have to vacuum there too. The roller stopped working last fall so I got a replacement roller. Worked fine for a month or so, it’s stopped working again. Not sure if it’s the roller again. I have shark vacuums that I really like & was excited to get the robot vacuum because it was self cleaning and the other vacuums are good. I’m so disappointed.
