Needs 10W 12V USB-C Power Adapter
This product looks as solid and good as the reviews say. I’d love to keep it, but cannot even charge it up because it does not come with a power adapter and says to use a NOCO 10W 12V one or gives some other standards if using compatible brand. (it does come with a USB-C cable). Now this is a very low power adapter by today’s standards and I was unable to find one on Amazon, or Best Buy or from the NOCO store (odd that they don’t have one since the warranty book says specifically to use the NOCO brand one). I contacted NOCO through Amazon’s website to get help. They never responded. So I called Amazon for help and they just generated a return for me. Dang it. If anyone else knows how to overcome this obstacle, I’m not above ordering another one…

Works like a charm when fully charged
I have a vehicle that has a slow electrical leak that drains the battery after 1-2 days. It is an older vehicle and I don’t drive it everyday. This device fires it up as long as it is fully – or nearly fully charged. After about the 3rd discharge it needs to be recharged. The description says it can deliver 20 discharges – I think that is VERY GENEROUS and would not rely on it past 5 discharges. Pay attention to the color bars. If the red bars are showing, recharge it immediately!

It’s marketed as a jump starter for gas and diesel cars, so I wondered if it would really be useful for an EV. But after keeping it in my car and using it a couple of times, I can say this thing is a lifesaver—especially for emergencies involving the 12V battery. The GB40 isn’t going to charge your Tesla’s main battery (that’s a job for superchargers). Instead, it’s for the 12V auxiliary battery. If your Tesla’s 12V system fails, you might find yourself locked out of the car or unable to start it. That’s where the GB40 comes in. It powers up the 12V system, letting you open the frunk, reboot the car, and get things moving again. So, while it’s not about charging your Tesla to drive, it’s perfect for those rare “oops, my car is unresponsive” moments.. aka my dead Tesla. This thing is compact and tough. It’s small enough to keep in your frunk or under the seat, but it feels super sturdy. The clamps are solid, and the whole setup feels really high-quality. It has built-in safety features like reverse polarity protection, which means you won’t fry anything if you accidentally connect the clamps the wrong way. 1. Open the frunk and find the 12V battery. Gone are the days of having to hope you didn’t look like a criminal so someone would be nice enough to help you jump start your car. Gone are the days of having some jerk pull over and offer help only to mug you. This gives you independence and it is convenient. Charge it up and get that car charged and if you need a portable battery back you can use the USB port to boost your phone or run some other type of gear while away from home. Charge it up. Toss it in the trunk in its nice little storage bag and you are good to go. It does require a cord to charge and only comes with a c to c cord so you might need an adapter to fully charge it.

First time we tried it NOCO Boost Jump Starter doesn’t work
Bought this on Oct 22, 2024. Charged it, and attempted to use on Jan 5, 2025. The device would not jump start our car. Fortunately someone nearby had a different brand jump starter, and it got us going. We brought the NOCO Boost home, recharged it, and tried again. It still did not work. Gave up and purchased another brand/model, and it works as expected. We are very disappointed that Amazon gave 30 days to return this, even though box states it comes with 1 year warranty. Don’t recommend this jump starter, it’s a waste of money.

We have two of these. Have used them many times for my wife’s car as she doesn’t drive enough to always keep the battery properly charged. This unit is much easier than jumper cables. After a while, one of the units stopped indicating a full charge during charging. It never goes full solid green but still starts the car. Unfortunately, the warranty had expired. The good news is, the company offered me a discount for whenever I want to buy another one. Very happy with the product.

I never seen anything like this. I was skeptical about this device because it was so small. Usually when I have a dead battery, it would take some and effort to jump my car. With this device I just plug the negative and positive to my battery, turn on device, let it charge for about 30 seconds, and then start my car. I tried this device more than once on different cars and even a small generator, and it worked instantly. I have other ones like this for cheaper, but there is a reason why so many people have bought this than other ones. I highly recommend this one or the one for bigger batteries and engines.

Had to rescue a stranded vehicle that had been sitting dead for a few months. The battery on the car was completely dead, no dash lights. Good Product, but Two Minor Pet Peeves
The product arrived and is of good quality. While this has good reviews on reliability and use. I do have two pet peeves with it. First of all, it came with a very thick (±5mm) booklet of its warranty around the globe, but no instructions. You must go to their site to download the three very small pages of instructions. I find this very annoying, but has a quick and easy work around. Second, is that it uses a micro USB to charge. I wish they had used a USB C port for charging. Perhaps there’s a reason for it that’s just not apparent to me. Most of us are trying to minimize the number of charging cables for our electronic devices.

I purchased this battery jump starter as a safety device to put in my car in case the battery ever goes dead. Hopefully I will never need to use it and hopefully if I do it will work as described by the manufacturer! It appears to be solidly made in all aspects. The book that came with it is basically completely useless as far as providing any information for how to properly use the device. I was able to find videos which I watched which explained what should have been provided in the first place.
