Minor flaws
I assume it works. It arrived with a mostly full charge (expected) and a charging cable with no charger. I plugged it into one of my USB A chargers. I noted this cable doubles as a power source cable. Nice, if you’re trying to power a device that uses a micro USB port. Why not USB C? Also, it’s pretty easy to accidentally hit the flashlight button, which could run the battery down while it’s in the trunk. Cables for the car battery seem really good and sturdy.

Tonight I was stranded at the mall. My battery died in the Arizona heat. I called road side assistance and received a text telling me that they will be getting to me by 10:45 pm. A coworker pulled up in his big truck and used jumper cables. 30 minutes later my car was still completely dead and I was so hot that I could not wait for the roadside assist. I then remembered that I had this charger. I dug through some things in the trunk and finally found it. My coworker hooked it up and my car started on the first try. Lights ac and all. This is a life saver. It’s easy to use and has other uses too. We used the light to hook it up. I’m so grateful for this product.

Well it does what it says it does. My car had been sitting for 6 months. I hooked up my aunts car to it and tried to jump it but it was dead in the water. Even after letting it charge for 30 minutes. I literally hooked up this thing and the car started. It wasn’t like a large burst of power but it was enough to slowly get the engine cranking faster and faster till it started. 10/10

Last Sunday I drove to a nearby park for hiking. Four hours later I came back to the parking lot, trying to start my vehicle. It won’t. A big family of 10 people had a birthday party nearby. I asked them for help. They took a Battery Booster and hooked up on the battery. It started right way. I drove home parked my vehicle. I ordered this product Sunday night. Amazingly, Amazon showed the delivery scheduled on Monday morning from 4:00 AM to 8:00 AM. The driver tried to deliver the product at 6:10 AM. I missed it. Then another driver brought the product and delivered to my at 9:00 PM. What a great service. However, Monday morning, when I started the vehicle, it didn’t. I connected the charged booster this morning. Just pushed the button, the vehicle started. I drive the vehicle to the service center and got a new battery. This is one of the most important devices that a vehicle owner should have inside the vehicle.

Battery was Completely Dead for Days, Started Right Up!!
I’m in a condo now and my seatbelt got caught in my door. I didn’t notice it. 2 weeks later I needed to run an errand. Door was ajar, no interior lights, no nothing. Bought this off of Amazon, arrived that night. I charged it to green, hooked it up to the battery, pushed the power button, pushed the pulse button, charger lights started flashing, pushed the cars start button and the car fired right up!!! Great product!! Very relieved!!!

Tried this on my 6 cylinder jeep and my 4 cylinder car. Did not work on either one. Says it will jump up to a 6.0L V8. I don’t see that happening. Might work on a motorcycle.

Purchased the GB40 for one main reason, to jump start my boat when getting it out of winter storage. The first time using my battery measured 4.5 volts and the jumper would not crank the motor over. Put the jumper in boost mode and would crank once before dying again. Literature says will start a vehicle with a battery as low as 3.5 volts but this is not the case.

I connected the clamps, turned the unit on, had a full charge, dash didnt light up. Held the ! button for 3 seconds to turn on boost and then the dash and gauges jumped a little then the van was able to start. I did not have to leave this connected for long at all, less than a min in all. Van started easily. Charges with a micro USB.

This is the second one of these I’ve bought.
I just bought my second one of these. It worked when needed a year and a half after I bought it, but it wasn’t my car I started. After using it, I charged it up again and returned it to my trunk. The next time I needed it was for someone else’s car, but it was more than two years after I’d last used it. (I still had jumper cables and got the other person’s car started anyway.) When I got home I tried to recharge the battery but it wouldn’t take one. But, I guess after almost four years, it’s to be expected which was why I gave 4 stars. I went another year and a half without a battery backup, and without replacing my car’s battery, so I figured I’d be due for another reliable backup.

Just keep it charged and handy, and it won’t let you down. I have a mysterious battery drain problem with my Accord that nobody can figure out, and every once in a while, the battery will be way to weak to do much of anything, much less crank the engine. This guy comes through every time. IMO just as essential in the trunk as a jack and spare tire.

A “must have” in your glove box!
I had actually purchased this jump starter on a recommendation from a clerk in an AutoZone store. I was in there to buy jumper cables but he suggested this instead. Although it was more than I had expected to pay, I’m so glad I got it! I’ve not had occasion to use it until last month while camping with family. My son‘s minivan had been left with the dome light on and wouldn’t start. I grabbed my trusty NOCO starter and after taking 5 seconds to connect, the van started immediately. The charge capacity was depleted by 50%, but he was so impressed. I promptly ordered him one from Amazon and although I’m hoping he doesn’t have an occasion where he needs it, at least he’s prepared. Everyone should have one of these in their car for emergencies in a situation where you’re alone or don’t have jumper cables.

Had to use it to jump my car today. The booster worked wonderfully and got my car started and I went and got a new battery. It has been sitting in my car for 6 months and had a full charge. It could probably jump start a car multiple times before it needs to be charged again.

You are lucky if you get one start
After charging the unit for several days, I placed the unit in my car. Within a week it was needed. When I went to start the car it barely turned over. Luckily it did start the car but the battery in the boost was totally dead. I charged it up again and left it in my car. It was then in the car for a couple of months but when I needed it again it was unable to restart my car. I put the boost back on the charger (USB) for 3 days. It then sat for 2 days in my car and then was needed again (I was now returning from a vacation and the doors and tailgate were left open all day as they had been a week ago). The boost had a very difficult time starting the car again. I doubt the unit would have worked if it weren’t so warm out. Buyer Beware – my unit gave me too much of a sense of being prepared and only let me down. BTW I drive a Subaru Outback.

This device has saved me on more than one occasion. I have purchased three of these devices to have one in each vehicle. The device is very easy to operate, charge and does an excellent job of holding a charge. This device easily starts a 2022 RAM 1500 Limited, while losing very little of the charge. The device has a USB port for charging small items such as your cell phone and a small light in the front.
