Product Breakdown: The Promises and Pitfalls
The Roomba J6+ has been well-received by many customers for its convenience and performance. Several users have expressed satisfaction with the device’s ease of setup and operation. As one user put it, “Easy to set up and works great!” and another confirmed that the self-emptying feature is a significant plus, saying, “I didn’t realize how well the self-emptying feature would work!” The quiet operation, especially compared to older models, is another point of praise. A user mentioned, “Love how much more quiet it is than the 980.” This makes it easier to run the Roomba without disturbing daily activities, like watching TV. Users are impressed with the technological advancements, noting that the Roomba remembered the layout of their home even after an upgrade, which showcases the smart mapping capabilities of the device. The ability to handle pet fur has been a game-changer for some, with one user exclaiming, “This purchase was a life changer for my family,” as it kept up with their lab’s daily shedding. Another user described it as “Fantastic,” highlighting the device’s ability to navigate and clean different rooms according to a set schedule. Moreover, the vacuum’s capability to avoid obstacles and notify the user of temporary obstructions has been appreciated. Users enjoy receiving notifications and pictures of their pets blocking the path, as it adds a level of interaction and ensures that the Roomba can navigate effectively around the house.
Despite the positive feedback, some users have reported drawbacks with the Roomba J6+. One of the most common complaints is about the noise level, as one user described, “feels like the suction is not strong enough and this thing is loud. very very loud.” Additionally, issues with customer service have been highlighted by users, including difficulty connecting to Wi-Fi and inadequate assistance from support, with one customer saying, “They never got back to me despite my reaching out repeatedly.” The device’s performance consistency has also been questioned by some. One user found the vacuum to be “Inconsistent” in its cleaning and emptying patterns. The rollers seem to be sensitive to pet hair, which could pose a problem for households with pets, as it may require frequent cleaning or roller replacement. For some, the Roomba J6+ doesn’t clean corners effectively or pick up larger particles like cereal, which was noted as a limitation by a user. Navigation issues have been another point of contention. A few users have experienced problems with the Roomba’s mapping capabilities, where it either missed rooms or struggled to navigate out of an empty room, leading to a comment that it “Can’t even navigate its way out of an empty room.” Additionally, the product seems to struggle with long pet hair, as one user found that it would leave “little rolls of dog hair” behind, indicating that it may not be suitable for all types of pet fur.
In conclusion, while the Roomba J6+ appears to be a technological marvel for many, with smart mapping, quiet operation, and self-emptying features that users love, there are notable concerns about its noise level, customer service, consistency in performance, and navigation. These issues might need to be weighed against the convenience and ease of use that the Roomba J6+ otherwise offers. What do the stars speak of?

People find the following negative one quite helpful. Reviewed in the United States on November 29, 2023 by Linda M. Mcintosh, titled “Inconsistent”
The first day the vacuum was loud and had lots of suction. The next day it was noticeably quieter. I watched several videos on how to clean and troubleshoot. iRobot suggested I call Amazon to return or replace it. She said it would save me the trouble of sending it back for warranty work. ??? It does work but I can go behind it and swipe the floor and there is still a little dirt. It spends a lot of time under the bed and couches and not a lot in the open areas. It is inconsistent in emptying the bid. Yesterday it sent pictures of objects it wanted to know it it was a temporary obstacle or not. I’ve had it 10 days and that is the first time it’s done that. Funny to see pictures of your animals blocking its path.

Not worth the money
I have had this vacuum since October 2023. I had to replace the battery in November 2024. Already having trouble again. Don’t buy

Rarely works properly
When they work it’s great, but that seems to be hardly ever. Took multiple tries (each hours long) to get a decent map, spent time editing the map and labeling rooms and placing dividers. Then I send it to vac the hallway and it goes into the hall and immediately to the kitchen. It wanders around like a drunken sailor even after using the “smart map” and it slams into furniture and the baseboards. When we had a very small house I would just let it go “vac everywhere” without mapping and it worked well enough. If you have average or large rooms I’d recommend finding another brand.

Works good but not sure how to use.
We go no instructions, but it seems to do its job.

Difficult to updated and working.
Just couldn’t get this updated and showing online. With 3 calls to support, I returned a few days later. Bad hardware is what I was told. Past Roomba’s just worked out of box.

iRobot customer care is garbage
If you have a technical issue with the item, do not contact iRobot they will waste your time and you will run out of time for Amazon‘s return policy.
Christine Lang –
The robot purchased has been reported stolen by iRobot, so will not work WiFi app. Do not buy.
The robot was reported as stolen goods by iRobot so will not work with the app. So if you want one to be able to use all the features do not buy this one
Cameron Butler –
Not worth the trouble
Not worth it at all. Nothing like getting locked out of your vacuum because the poorly designed app logged you out and doesn’t recognize your auto saved password. You’re better off with a Shark or Dyson manual vacuum that won’t get caught on random things or get stuck and die under a dresser.

Used machine?
My Roomba came dirty and is not functioning – clearly it has been used. After an hour on the tech assist help line, they suggested I return it. This experience has been absolutely unacceptable
Jacob Giem –
Misleading product. No warranty support. Probably scam company.
This seller is not an authorized reseller which means iRobot will not warranty it when the Robot doesn’t work. My Roomba couldn’t connect to my mobile device or home WiFi. I tried all troubleshooting for days with both my ISP, and iRobot (I consider myself technologically proficient). iRobot wouldn’t warranty this because they didn’t sell it to me even though it appears that they are selling it through Amazon, it was fullfilled by “Market global”. It was evident from my troubleshooting that this was not a new product because there were records on the product I was able to find that had a cleaning cycle run a year ago. I kept running into an error saying this was registered to another user, so the app wouldn’t work. When I eventually returned the product because it was determined defective by iRobot support, Market global took at whopping $60 restocking fee out of my refund. They will probably repackage and sell to the next unsuspecting buyer.

Too Expensive, not expected to last much more than a year.
According to iRobot tech support these devices are designed for the cleaning/ motor module only to last 1 year, maybe 1.5 years at most and they made the module easy to replace on purpose. The replaceable module is $80. So expect to pay that in addition to purchasing supplies for this thing. They will not replace them using the warranty after 12 months. The one I purchased lasted 16 months.

Outstanding vacuum purchased at an unbelievable price!
I first became interested in the concept of a robot vacuum after listening to a coworker brag about her new J7+ Roomba for two (2) weeks straight. I started searching and reading articles online detailing the iRobot Roomba series robots. My go to online store of course is Amazon. I found the J7+ model that was so heavily praised at work, but I then found a j6+ model that I did not know existed. I decided to get serious and figure out what the differences between the two (2) models were besides nearly $350.00 for the j7+ model. Amazon had a huge discount on the j6+ model, so I decided to go for it. Let me tell you I hit the jackpot on this decision. The j6+ was amazingly simple to set up and operate. The next day, I could not wait to get to work so that I could be the one bragging about the outstanding deal that I found on Amazon. I eventually found information online detailing the differences between the models. The j6+ model was not listed on the iRobot website due to the fact that it was exclusively named for Amazon. My robot had a j6+ sticker over a j7+ sticker and my phone app first stated j7. When I ordered replacement supplies, the j7+ fit the j6+. You cannot go wrong with either model, so keep an eye on the sales and go for it!

J6 i robot
The robot only worked for a week and will not work now. It only sits on the dock with a spinning white light and wont move
Hapkido –
Constant Error 26 (Poor Air Flow)
Constantly gives Error 26 for inadequate air flow. Replaced air filter, cleaned dustbin, reset robot. It runs for 10 seconds and then gives the error message again. Customer support told me it was likely defective and then said I had to contact the original seller because they’d wouldn’t resolve the warranty issue with me.

Priced to be affordable
The business owner tried their best to make the sale right and provided a new product. Unfortunately it provided the same results and didn’t work well with the iRobot app but it does still work as well as our other iRobot vacuums work through the app. It’s price is far less than buying direct from iRobot so it will save you some money.
