Walked out to my truck the other day and the battery was dead. I’m new to the area and don’t know anyone well enough to ask for a jump. Bought this battery, but was very skeptical of how it would work (if at all). I got the battery next day, charged it up and then tried to jump start my truck. Worked like a charm! I’m happy with this purchase! I purchased a third-party case since it doesn’t come with one. Dewalt provides a nylon bag, but it’s not protective at all.
Charging this device requires a ridiculous USB-A to USB-A charging cable and proprietary adapter. There’s a reason you’ve never seen a cable like that anywhere else. It’s because technically this isn’t something the USB standards even support. Competitor devices let you recharge at much higher speed using any conventional USB-C charging brick and cable, without having to buy hacky Dewalt-branded charging equipment. Until Dewalt gets some outside help on how to properly design a device like this, stick to other brands that know what they’re doing.

Waiting
Used on that belonged to my son in law and it was wonderful. So ordered one, it didn’t full charge, tried Manuel ideas , a no go. Called service at DeWalt they were wonderful, told me to return it and they would send a replacement. Still waiting for the replacement. Really think the problem is with Amazon. Rather than refund my account, they said they’d just replace it. So in my e-mail it seems to be a problem, do I still want it? I need to respond, which I have. It coming, but we haven’t seen it or heard anymore.

Great for large trucks too!
I have a 5.7 Tundra so I’ve always been a little skeptical about these little box chargers. I ran the batteries down playing music while I was cleaning my truck. Battery died. I jumped it off yesterday using a bigger jump box but it’s messing up. Got the charger yesterday. Got up this morning and my truck was dead again. This little guy jumped the battery with ease. I’m super impressed.

I’ve had several of the cheap ones with wierd names die after a few uses, thought I’d try a “brand name”. Well its useless, where the other cheap ones will start the car 2 or 3 times before they die, this one failed to start even once. Complete waste of money.

Used once in emergency. Unit said fully charged. Green light when attached to dead car. Something in the battery pack blew and it wont charge or turn on now. Glad I spent the extra money for nothing. Thought DeWalt was better than that.

Portable jump starter; not!
A fully charged unit would not start a small SUV, a Honda CR-V. I tried it on my truck, Nissan Titan, a few hours later and no-go. I would pass on this product. Just keep jumper cables with you.

The media could not be loaded. DeWalt Product Review I purchased this product primarily because of DeWalt’s reputation for reliability, and I wanted to avoid a cheap, made-in-China alternative for something I might need in an emergency. The product comes in a small bag, but I wish it came with a sturdy box instead. The bag makes it easy to misplace parts or accessories. Charging it to full takes about 5 hours, which is reasonable. The flashlight is bright and functional, a nice feature for emergencies. However, my main concern lies in the battery reliability. I kept the unit fully charged in my car for about four months, expecting it to hold the charge. When I needed it to jump-start my brother’s car, it was completely dead. After recharging it, the product did work ( video attached) and successfully started the car, but that initial failure made me question its dependability in critical situations. While it works as intended after a full charge, I’m hesitant to fully recommend it due to its apparent inability to retain charge over time. This could be a significant issue if you plan to rely on it in emergencies.

The first 2 time jumped my car quick and easy. The 3rd time it took about 15min or more. The charge on it was close to full. I put it on the charger to fully charge for next time. The longer I charged it the more it drain to empty. I don’t know if it’s the charger or the pack. I’m thinking it’s the pack since it took longer to jump the last time. Should have gotten a warranty.

Dewalt it seems is great At everything but battery stuff!!!
I bought a large jumper and it went bad. Got a second if melted the clamp. Got this portable one and finally needed it on a s10, battery wasn’t dead just too low (would slowly crank just not enough to start) this thing wouldn’t even do it. Junk. Good for a phone charger or something like that but I would not rely on this for a dead car battery.

Fell short
Twice on two separate occasions I needed to jump my pickup truck with a Die-Hard dead battery. Something draining my battery. No go. Pulled out my old compact jump battery I was replacing for the Dewalt because the old one is falling apart, and no problem, started on second try.

Weak product
I bought one of these about 3 months ago. I charged it up and placed it in storage compartment under the seat. Well the time came today when I needed it. I pulled it out all happy hooked it up and nothing. I would not even make the starter click. I got a offbrand I have had in my wifes car for about 3 years. I hooked it up and boom. It started my truck right up. Not a big truck. A small 6 cyclinder toyota. I cant trust it if I am in a remote location. That is what I really bought it for. Overlanding. It wont be trusted to go with me. I will probably order the one I have in my wifes car.

Worked but very low power
Thankful that it worked when I needed to jump my battery, but it barely worked. I feel like it took all the juice out to get it started and it may not have started. Would recommend something a little more powerful. I have a Toyota forerunner.

Weird self charging method.
Works just fine for me starting my V6 Honda minivan. Seems to hold a good charge for a long time. The only problem I have with this is that you MUST use a usb-a to usb-a cable, and the appropriate block or it will not charge. It will start lighting up to show that is charging once you plug it in correctly. So, in short: DO NOT LOSE THE PROVIDED CABLE AND BLOCK.
