Walked out to my truck the other day and the battery was dead. I’m new to the area and don’t know anyone well enough to ask for a jump. Bought this battery, but was very skeptical of how it would work (if at all). I got the battery next day, charged it up and then tried to jump start my truck. Worked like a charm! I’m happy with this purchase! I purchased a third-party case since it doesn’t come with one. Dewalt provides a nylon bag, but it’s not protective at all.
Charging this device requires a ridiculous USB-A to USB-A charging cable and proprietary adapter. There’s a reason you’ve never seen a cable like that anywhere else. It’s because technically this isn’t something the USB standards even support. Competitor devices let you recharge at much higher speed using any conventional USB-C charging brick and cable, without having to buy hacky Dewalt-branded charging equipment. Until Dewalt gets some outside help on how to properly design a device like this, stick to other brands that know what they’re doing.

Not good enough
Full charged, this device cannot even jump start my 2.4l 4 cylinder sedan. My neighbor lent me his device which is rated 3000 amps which worked like a charm.

Buyer beware
Do not buy this product. It doesn’t have enough power to jump a 2018 Impala so if you have a newer vehicle with all the electronics or a V6 or 8, it will not help you. Highest your battery will charge is roughly 11.2 volts. It just doesn’t have enough. After my battery dropped to 10.3 volts and having the DeWalt charger on it for 45 minutes the most I got was 11.3 volts but then drops back to the 10.5 area. Waste of time and money in my opinion.

Three months old, Won’t charge
Stuck on one charging light. I have to send it in (at my expense) and wait who knows how long to get it back. Device still new and never been used. Went to charge it after three months, and it started to, then got stuck on one light and never goes past. I though I was smart to go with a “name brand”, but this thing is trash

Will not start an V8
Boy was I excited when my marine battery was dead. No worries. I have a 1600 amp Dewalt Jump Starter. Nope. Fully charged this WILL NOT start a V8. It tried turning a few times with a few clicks before the flashing red light appeared. Boy was I embarrassed when my dock neighbor came over with his 20 year old, old technology jump box the size of my V8, hooked it up and it cranked first time. He said, “Ya, get rid of that fancy crap”.

Very Disappointing
It arrived VERY used. It was supposed to be new. Plus it didn’t work and one of the port covers was broken.. Showed signs of obvious use and it had letters crudely carved into the housing. This supposedly came from DeWalt. They were once the quality name in tools. It looked like someone took it off of the junk pile and shipped it.

It’s because technically this isn’t something the USB standards even support. I bought a Dewall jumper and I have 2 issues with my jumper. 1.- LED light doesn’t work, never can turn on it as user manual show you 2.- Charge cable is damaged (dented) I would really like to get a Jumper how works perfectly

Literally charged it used it to jump a 2.4L Honda. It barely cranked it over. Did another full charge. It sat on my bench for 3 days. Attempted to start a 2.0 dodge and it wouldn’t turn the car over. Very disappointed with this purchase. This was expensive. Might be switching brands depending on what dewalt does.

So Convenient to use!
These battery boosters are easy to use and take up less space than a regular battery booster. My husband has used it to jump start our quad and also a lawnmower. He had them up and running in no time. We gave one to our son-in-law for Christmas and he had to use it in the mountains on his quad and was very impressed with how it worked! Highly recommend them!

I charged it completely, overnight. I then put it in the trunk of my car (it is winter in the Midwest). Two weeks later, I needed to use it. The charge had dropped from 3 power lights to 1 light. It didn’t not have enough charge to start the car once. This is much worse than a different product I owned before.

Received yesterday – tested the car charger unit today. When initially plugged in the light glowed green then faded out. Repeated…. Same outcome. Left me with a sick feeling of ‘when I actually have a dead battery… I’ll be left stranded’. If the folks at Dewalt want to send me a replacement I’ll update this review. If and when that ever happens I’m keeping AAA on speed dial. Update: Customer Service less than helpful. If I could give zero stars I would. Maybe I just got a ‘bad one’… you going to take a risk yours will be different?
