not sure if this is a design issue or a quality problem. the fan is very noisy and is always on even when nothing is running. Usually fan in electronics is either always on or starts when some sensor detects the temperature is too high. Well, this fan starts about half minute after boots and then never stops. The fan noise is definitely too much for an audio device.

This unit seems decent. However, the screen does occasionally shut off, taking several minutes to wait for a restart. It’s a little slow to load CarPlay. Sometimes the steering wheel controls freeze, and the only fix is to turn the car off and back on again (so, you’ll have to wait if you’re driving).

Fit my 2007 Honda Crv perfectly.

Works great. The sound is great and the screen easy to use. Bluetooth apps work seamlessly and the touch screen is sensitive …. as it should be

You get what you buy it’s worth the money

DO NOT PURCHASE THIS! The recent updates to battery optimization render it useless for Android Auto or CarPlay. It is not wireless android auto or carplay so you have to usb connect it to get that feature to work. The USB only supports 1.5 amp usb connection. The recent updates to smartphone battery optimization have upgraded the ability of most newer brands of android and apple phones to set battery optimized charging at a minimum rate that is higher than 1.5 amp. The result is the this stereo will give you an error message when you plug in USB that says usb has been disabled to protect the stereo. This is due to the phone attempting to draw more power than allowed. The result is that you cannot connect your phone, so android auto and carplay will not work at all! Also, this is one unit that Pioneer does not have ANY firmware updates for. Seems they produced it and abandoned it just as quick. Don’t make the mistake I did. Avoid this unit!

This radio worked for awhile & was somewhat functional. Can’t mirror my phone & CarPlay wasn’t working out… but after a year of using this product it started showing “ERROR 10” & wouldn’t let me pair my phone to it. At first it kept cutting in & out my music which was doable but then it kept doing that & disconnecting my phone… so while driving in traffic I’d have to reconnect it. At one point it kept disconnecting RIGHT AFTER it connected only playing 1-3 seconds of my phones music till it cut me off again. Now at this point it only displays an error 10 & doesn’t allow my phone to connect at all. I’ve tried to do an update on this particular device but this one doesn’t have update availability on the website. So now I’m stuck with a $400 purchase that doesn’t work 100% of the time. So as the title says this is the worst purchase I’ve ever made & I will never be doing business with pioneer again. I thought this was the best radio on the market but I was disappointed & pissed about this experience.

This radio does not offer wireless apple carplay or wireless android auto. Phone must be wired to USB. The Pioneer site says this beside the Apple CarPlay description: “Wireless Connection or Wired USB Connection Wired USB” My return is on the way.

1. Required additional parking brake adapter to unlock Bluetooth features. You cannot even pair it without the additional connection. 2. Does not feature Wireless Apple CarPlay. Why is this even a thing in 2024. I do not want to plug my phone in to unlock Apple CarPlay. I am returning solely for this reason. 3. The Volume controls are atrocious. Extremely hard to identify/navigate. Often you touch neighboring audio controls and it interferes with playback. The controls, appearance, and touchscreen meet expectations. If you are looking for a great, modern radio, this is not what you want. Sure, it is more advanced than a radio from 2018, but why is this model even on the market. Save yourself the trouble, get something else.
